Was craving a hot corned beef sandwich on rye and a new pickle. Much to my pleasant surprise, this sandwich is the best I have had other than from Katz's Deli in New York! The bread was thick sliced with a great crust and pillowy inside. The corned beef is cooked in house and just melts in your mouth. A hidden gem. read more

My sister-in-law took my wife and I to a deli for some New York Pastrami and soup. She had been here a while ago and really enjoyed it and thought it would be a fun place for lunch. A nice size, comfortable restaurant with a cool comfortable ambiance. We walked in and were immediately seated. Moments later our server came to the table and took a drink order. Pretty simple... coffee and two waters. When she returned with our drinks we gave her our lunch order. 1/2 Pastrami sandwich on rye with mushroom barley soup and two 1/2 sandwiches with chicken matzoh ball soup. Shortly after ordering, our soups came out. I reminded her that we only ordered 'cups' of soup (see picture). She explained "That's our cup." She later showed me their bowl. Large, really large... definitely a meal by itself. The Pastrami sandwiches then showed up with their respective sides... cole slaw, pickled cucumbers and fries. (I had the fires and they were perfect.) Many people know that doesn't happen all the time. The sandwiches were loaded with pastrami on a delicious rye. This was one good sandwich and I will definitely be back. Overall a great place with excellent food and service. Most of the reviews are four and five stars which I get... For the people who gave one to three, why? PLEASE, stop complaining because of an experience that you had that can be easily resolvable. WHY do one star reviews come from people who have no connections, no yelp friends and just one or two reviews.... Is that your job. Please stop diminishing the overall ratings for these great places. Fresh, delicious food and friendly service. A couple of our favorites are the hot brisket sandwich, the hot pastrami sandwich, and the homemade corned beef hash with eggs. All are plentiful and delicious! read more

Went to Jacob's for the first time. Had there pastrami dinner. The pastrami was the best pastrami that I've had since New York City. A waiter Geri could not have been more accommodating and pleasant. Marvel at the register was lovely. Also very friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend this deli over three Gs any day. read more

I've visited here a 1/2 dozen times within the past few years when I visit the area. Never a disappointment. The food is always fresh and whatever you order is plentiful & flavorful. Their matzo ball soup is delish! I wish I had a picture this time, but I ordered the vegetable soup with my 1/2 sandwich. The server said it was delicious & it was. I love the pickle spear that is a given on any sandwich plate. Also, they're known for their Hot Pastrami sandwiches on fresh rye. OhMyGosh, it was like melt in your mouth delicious. I promise that you will not leave hungry. The decor is very simple and always clean (even the redtrooms) Tables for plenty. There wasn't a wait when we arrived but they had a house full when we left. Jacob's is definitely a place to visit. They do have meals on their menu, too. read more

Based on a friend's recommendation, we went for lunch. Unbeknownst to us, the restaurant's heating source for cooking was not working. It would have been helpful for an employee to tell us this before we sat down and decided on our order. The waiter was apologetic when finally visited our table and explained the situation. Since we were in a hurry, we decided to stay and order supposedly available items. My friend requested a brisket sandwich, and I ordered an egg salad sandwich. A short while later the waiter returned and said that neither of those options were available as they had not been previously cooked. I settled for a tuna salad sandwich on a bagel with a side of potato salad. I requested that the lettuce and tomato be excluded. My friend ordered a tongue sandwich on rye bread with coleslaw. The tuna tasted good but the bagel was not fresh. The tongue was tough and disappointing. My sandwich had the lettuce and tomato on it, despite my asking for them to be removed. Someone dropped the ball on this simple request, thereby resulting in wasted food as I did not eat these items. This was the first time I visited Jacob's and probably will be the last for a while. Despite the mishap with the heating issue (stuff happens!), I don't believe the restaurant handled the situation very well from a service perspective, and the food we had was just not up to par. There are several other deli options in the area that do better. read more

We came here to try lunch with them. We started off with the split pea soup. Soup is not salty at all. I feel as if they are cooking towards their audience of an older population. While sitting here I heard a microwave being used ? Kinda weird for a place to be using a microwave for a deli. We ordered the matzah ball soup, split pea, Reuben and Rachel sandwiches. We got our food. Ok the fries on the sandwiches, you can tell we're frozen and then heat using cold oil. Very soggy. The sandwiches were good. The bread was thick and grilled. I liked that touch. The soups were bland as I believe it has to be made for their clientele which is an older crowd. I'm not kidding I don't think salt was put in the soups. I think the score on this restaurant is right on. read more

Haven't been here since last year visiting from New Jersey but it is always amazing. The service was a little slow getting coffee but then it picked up. The food was delicious. This was our first stop as soon as we landed. I ended up with chicken salad. Nice size portion the bagel was a bit overcooked and the Cole slaw needed more mayo. This pickle was absolutely delicious! I wish I had more! I took half my meal home for a snack later on. Highly recommend! read more

Jacob's Restaurant - Delis Near Me - Boynton Beach, Florida

Holy Smokes! - After 1 Year - I think I may have discovered the best "Kosher Style" Deli in Palm Beach County - Too think, now the wife and I are actually moving away from this overcrowded place! Hidden/Nestled away in Boyton Beach - Yes, I was the youngest guy in the Dining Room - Nevertheless, the purpose of this review is to draw attention to this gem of a place. Unfortunately or fortunately - depending how you look at it, this place is not "Legally Kosher" for all intensive purposes. Nevertheless - we are dealing w/ Kosher Style - Jacob's was suggested to me by one of my patients and I've already been there twice in one week. Place is filled w/ the "Boyton Crowd" - who I'm convninced is doing there best to keep a lid on this place. Food is excellent and the prices won't break the bank. Owner/Operator Jose Jacobs is on premise everyday but Wednesday - from what I'm told. Meats are "Cured" on Premise - which is a rariety. Rye Bread is baked on premise and truly is the star of the place; Absolutely delicious! - You are not going to find anything like it anywhere! I've been told the Turkey is amazing and look forward to trying. They have a tremendously amazing menu that will satisfy the most discerning meshuganah. If you are reading this - than stop what you are doing and get out and try this place. OMG - The Matzah Ball soup was really good! Please tell the waitress to smile a bit more! It makes the food taste that much better. Otherwise no complaints! Would avoid on Wednesday - because that's the Owner/Operators day off. But, the gal at the slicer sure as heck can make an exceptionaly tasty sandwich and I've been told she covers for when Jose takes his much needed break. Plenty of parking availabe in the shopping center and very easy to find! A+ - This plus is truly wonderful! Enjoy and let me know your thoughts! Let me know if any of you meshugs want to meet me there? Like it and Love it! read more

The best deli in the area. I love this deli and they people are so nice. Food is everything

We try and visit Jacob's everytime we're in Boynton Beach. The food is great and always fresh and delicious. The $ 22.95 dinner meals are tremendous value and not just because of the size of the portions. Of course a cheery greeting and thank you from Jose makes you want to return. I personally love the corned beef and cabbage dinner even when it isn't St. Patrick's Day. Stu D. read more

THE ABSOLUTE BEST Visited her with family we will definitely be back. Home made knishes are BOMBBB

I haven't been so pleased to enjoy that NY-style deli other than Rein's Deli all the way up in Connecticut until Jacob's became that deli dream that I always wanted to visit for delicious food. Today (8/21), I had the chance to visit this establishment while we are in Florida to vacation for over a week. The employees at Jacob's are kind and pleasing which I liked. At Jacob's, there's more than just deli. Whether you're in the mood for a slice of Reuben sandwich or a salad, you'll be more than happy to satisfy yourself because the food is real good. I ordered shrimp salad (yes, I said shrimp), as well as potato pancakes and so much more of the good. There's a lot of shrimp in that salad bowl. They give you sauerkraut on top of Reuben, which is sweet. They also have Styrofoam containers and bags for takeouts or to have food brought home once you're full before you finish a dish. Want something more? There are dessert options as well such as sugar free pie and cookies. I primarily came here with the whole family because it's my first name (duuuhhh!!!!!!) and the fact that they serve up a good New York style deli I thought. I want to come back to this establishment if we go back to Florida for the next vacation. Mmm.... good! I encourage folks who enjoy NY style deli with Floridian ties to try their establishment in the heart of Boynton Beach, right near the post office. read more

This was my first time eating here, and I should have walked out after I walked in, but the cashier failed to see me. I finally asked a gentleman who was waiting at the first table, and he told me to sit anywhere. I took a menu, which I should have looked at before sitting down. I was surprised at how limited it was. I then watched a server bring over menus and greet the table before me despite them sitting down after me. I got up to leave when the same kind of gentleman apologized and asked me what he could bring me to drink. He was the only positive part of this experience. I ordered a simple meal of a bagel with whitefish salad and asked for no tomato. Other than the fact that it lacked onion, it came out correctly. However, the fish was the driest whitefish salad I have ever seen, and the taste reflected that. Like the missing onion and the lack of mayonnaise, it had no flavor. After getting four bones in my mouth, I gave up. The cashier was not at his station, but a kind lady working behind me acknowledged me and said he would be there. I will assume he was using the lav and give him the benefit of the doubt. He did not ask how my meal was, and I did not offer. I couldn't be in there for another minute. There are so many decent places in the area. I can't figure out how this one has stayed in business so long. read more

Jacob's Restaurant - White Fish Salad Sandwich - Delis Near Me - Boynton Beach, Florida

Ordered takeout Corned beef on no seed rye, coleslaw and an order of small fries. While picking up my order I asked for a side of mustard and to my surprise the gentleman told me it was already in there. So, I decided not to ask for salt and pepper for the fries, I assumed they were seasoned to perfection. Unfortunately, they are not so ask for the condiments and ketchup if you need it(reason for missing a star). Real cool that someone was behind the counter slicing the meat to order, I absolutely loved the corned beef; juicy, not too lean, just enough fat, fresh rye, fries piping hot, coleslaw perfect and house pickle sour, just how mama likes it! Check them out! Sooo good! read more

I am not sure how I missed this place. I have gone to the bigger name delis for many years and never went here. That was a mistake. This is my new favorite local deli. The meat is very good and prepared well. The chopped liver is good and the potato pancakes are excellent. The rye is baked in the store and the best I have in a long time. The stuffed cabbage was far and away the best in the area. We had a large group and the service impeccable. Highly recommended. read more

The pastrami sandwich on their home-made rye bread is outstanding. I have eating in many delis over the years and Jacobs is absolutely the best I have ever had. There hot open turkey and brisket sandwiches are also the best. The service is great, and the owner Jose is always there to make sure everyone is happy. The Ambiance is typical deli looking. Go there and try it, you will never go anywhere else. Roy read more

The pastrami sandwich here is truly a masterpiece. The pastrami itself is hand-cut and marinated to perfection, giving it a rich flavor that's both smoky and savory. Each order comes piled high on freshly baked rye bread, which is crusty outside yet soft inside, creating a perfect balance of textures. The generous portions ensure that every bite is packed with mouthwatering goodness. Shockingly i thibk its Better than Katz & 2nd Ave Deli read more

Food is always good. Jose "the man" new owner. People who work there are all smiles. I'm floored that this restaurant gets anything higher than 1 star. Sheer insanity. The food was HORRENDOUS. When people say "Don't expect good food in Florida" this is the stereotype they're talking about. The place has zero ambiance. Very generic interior; I could've been eating at a diner or cafeteria. It doesn't feel like a deli. Don't discount this. It detracts from the "deli experience". For heaven's sake, put up some pictures of the Lower East Side or something. Give the restaurant a vibe! The place was not too clean. We sat down and the table was tacky from ... I dunno. From something. My menu had someone's cabbage on it. *shudder* So we changed tables. That table was dirty too. The table next to us had a dirty rag on it. Service was pretty good. Waitress was friendly and welcoming. Food came out fast. The food was disgusting. Jacob is rolling in his grave. Matzah Ball Soup: C- The matzah balls were big and flavorless. Really, flavorless. Disgusting. Think of a big ol' wet ball of matzah. Ugghghghghghg. Even matzah balls from a box have more flavor. Even just a little salt, pepper would've made this BIG FAT F matzah balls into a C. Then, if you want to bring them up to an A, use some parsley and schmaltz. You're a restaurant, you should be able to handle that! The soup was very meh. I could find ZERO evidence that the soup was anything but 100% bouillon and water. Seriously. Lipton and water. And who the hell puts noodles in matzah ball soup? Potato Pancakes: C+ Very subpar. Obviously from a mix, which isn't NECESSARILY bad, I've had halfway decent latkes from a box, but like the matzah ball soup, they had zero flavor. No black pepper at all. No schmaltz. Just totally bland. Pastrami: D Served to us cold. Ughghghghg. Sent it back to the kitchen and it came back lukewarm. I swear this pastrami comes from sliced Boarshead or some other ultra-processed meat. Look at my pictures. That is not from a carved pastrami -- that's pressed, processed, machine made meat stuff. You ever see pastrami that like that from a NY deli? Hells no! That's some ultra-non Jewish pastrami. Tongue: B The tongue was actually not bad. But everything else was just so dreadful. read more

A neighbor brought me matzoh ball soup from Jacobs. The matzoh balls came in a separate styrofoam container, and I had a container with soup and egg noodles. Fabulous restaurant/deli. Great fresh food staff and ambiance as it was just remodeled.

If you're looking for fancy or high end, this isn't for you. If you're able to over look the basic decor of the inside dining area, for very good deli food, then come here. We did and we were pleasantly surprised. Service was good -- friendly and efficient -- both at the table and at the checkout. But not chatty or personality plus. They had a number of lunch specials plus their regular menu. We toyed with a hot dog special (posted by the register), but we both decided to get the half sandwich and soup lunch special. The soup of the day was cabbage soup -- which my husband got. In addition to the cabbage, there were carrot pieces, potatoes, and an occasional raisin. Except for the raisins (I don't cook with them), he said it reminded him of my sweet stuffed cabbage. I got their matza ball soup. I added salt, but the "ball" was light and fluffy. The noodles were cooked through, but not mushy. Both soups were much larger than expected -- served in full size bowls. As the waitress said, "they don't do cups there." My half tuna salad sandwich came with lettuce and a tomato slice along with a half sour pickle. The pickle was my kind -- crunchy and just this side of a cucumber. My side of coleslaw also was my preferred kind -- slightly sweet and not too much mayonnaise. The rye bread was wonderful. Crusty on the outside edge with the perfect texture inside. I bought some of this bread to go. And yes, I liked my sandwich a lot. My husband's half pastrami sandwich was very good as well. The pastrami had a nice seasoned edge, was sliced thin, and wasn't too fatty (which can happen with pastrami). He had potato salad as his side and said it too was very good. He said, enthusiastically, he'd definitely get what he ordered again. Now that we've discovered them, I'm sure we will be back, read more

Neighborhood jem. Fabulous deli in an older strip mall. We had Corned beef on rye with Coleslaw and pickles. It was delicious.

The food was a 9 the ambience was a 1. When I walked in I thought I was in a nursing home. I have never seen so many walkers in one place. It's a very small restaurant and the decor or I should say lack of decor is apparent. The food on the other hand was excellent. The waitstaff was overwhelmed with the amount of people there, so I can't really say that that was a good experience either. In the future I would order out and pick up my order. I think that would be the best way to go. read more

Don't believe these reviews. This place is absolutely awful. The pastrami was not hot. Tastes like bland corned beef. The decor says run! the front counter looks filthy. No wonder the board of health gave this place some violations. The danishes are absolutely vile. They tasted like bananas. They must've stored them next to the bananas. French fries were cold. Salads looked absolutely awful. Like they belong in a grade school cafeteria. This is one of the worst deli experiences we ever had. Never again. read more

I arrived on a busy Friday night, and was seated quickly. No one gave me a menu or silverware or even water. Oy! That was incredible. The service was good and the food was out of this world great! We seated ourselves on a Saturday for lunch and wondered why they were not more busy because this is a great restaurant. The plaza location is good and they have signage from the street. Still can't understand why they are not busier. We were given menus from our server Geoff. The menu had everything you could want from a deli menu. Prices were competitive with the other delis in Boynton and surrounding cities. We decided on a 1/2 Whitefish salad sandwich with a Bowl of Matzoh Ball Soup. The matzoh ball was fluffy and huge. There were a lot of noodles and the soup was delicious. The Whitefish was super fresh and piled high on the fresh sliced rye bread. I had seen pictures of the Tongue sandwich and had been thinking about having one as I have not had a cow tongue sandwich since I was a kid. It was warmed on the griddle and piled onto the fresh sliced rye bread with added Swiss Cheese. There was no fat and it was just perfect. The sandwiches came with a pickle half and I asked for a little more and got both kinds of pickles. They were great. My side choice I went with was the cucumber salad and eventhough Geoff said it was not suggested that day I went with it anyways and was so glad I did. I thought it was delicious and ate every last Cucumber slice. I even put a few slices in my tongue sandwich. I will warn you that the kitchen was really slow and gave us some concern but when we received our food and took the 1st bite, we forgot about the wait and fell in love with this place. We chatted with Jose, the owner at the check out and told him we would tell our friends to come here because the food is REALLY, Just That Good!!!! read more

Always a joyful, delightful and certainly delicious experience at Jacob's Restaurant!!

Deli for lunch today! We were eliminating foods we weren't in the mood for, so when my wife mentioned Deli, it appealed to both of us. In the area and en route home, Jacob's was easy to find and glad we did! The foot long chili dog with knish sign caught my eye as we walked in...but as we looked over the menu at our table, I changed my target to the half sandwich with soup special. I chose the half Pastrami on Rye, Potato salad and the cabbage soup, it came with a half sour pickle. The Cabbage Soup was wonderful and reminded me of my wife's sweet stuffed cabbage rolls. My half deli Pastrami sandwich was piled high with tasty Pastrami slices which was tender and had a nice bark or crust with just the right spice flavorings. My potato salad complimented the sandwich very nicely. Now that we're know where to find great deli, we will be back! read more

A no-nonsense deli restaurant with friendly service and good food served up fairly quickly. We came down from Wellington for the Pastrami sandwich and were not dissatisfied: a generous amount of meat on rye bread. Sadly, the Publix Supermarket in this center has moved across the street so it isn't quite as busy. I'll be back: support local! read more
