Just read the review from John S., complaining about a small salad costing 5.50 and not being able to go back for seconds. I was sitting near him in the restaurant, he was about 30, complaining for 20 minutes to mommy and daddy. It's common sense, when you buy a salad, you always ask if it's one trip. The guy obviously lives isolated. The guy also said not to stop in Carp, to go right to Ventura, because there's more to do and the people are nicer. People in Carp are the kindest, most down to earth people you'll meet. (We've also got Rincon, America's greatest surf spot.) Again, the guy seems to have no concept of the world around him. I wouldn't normally respond to a simple review, but when you act like an ignorant crybaby in public and say you'll never come back, all I can say is, thank you very much. Really enjoyed my pizza here. I was looking for a good, traditional pizza place and this totally fit the bill. Pizza was very good. I had the lunch special and for about $8.50 you get an individual-size pizza, salad bar, and drink. A very good deal for this area. They also have a few old-school video games if you're in the mood for that. Would definitely come here again. read more

Let me just say this is the best pizza I've ever eaten in my entire life and I've had a lot of pizza. The crust is just so perfect and yummy my favorite is the thick crust. The Hawaiian pizza is always my go to pizza. It has pineapple and Canadian bacon. The Canadian bacon is full of flavor and the pineapple adds the perfect amount of sweetness. Used to use this place all the time but certainly will be switching. Really bad customer service from a few of the phone people. Sometimes they seem to forget to put the order in at all. I called after 90 minutes and they have no record of the order. This was after the guy on the phone of been pretty rude to me so I assume that he just didn't put the order through. Worst wings I've ever had. Got "killer sauce wings" to go and they came as a wing soup in a bowl of hot sauce. Small, soggy, fatty wings swimming in what tasted like diluted Frank's red hot. Not killer. read more

Don't know if it was because we had been playing on the beach all day, or the fact that we were with a huge group of friends, but i liked Rustys. The restaurant interior was OK, ( kind of felt like i was at camp again with the bench seat tables), and i have to say that the salad bar looked a little sad,but the pizza tasted really good. The pizza was good, slightly greasy from the cheese. The sandwiches aren't that great, not filled well. It was supposed to have a few different meats but you couldn't really tell. Decor inside could use an upgrade/cleaning, but it wasn't unbearable. read more

My husbsnd and I both had the lunch special. It was very good, a personal size pizza with two toppings and a salad with a drink for under $16.00 for us both. He had the thin crust and I had pan. The salad ingredients were plentiful and fresh. Would highly recommend. read more

The food was good, but there were SEVERAL kids running around as if the restaurant was a park. We spoke with the staff and they did nothing we had to tell the kids to stop running. Experience was HORRIBLE! I would not recommend coming here. read more

I have to say I only order take out here, so I can't really comment on the interior. However, the pizza is great. A thin crust with extra cheese, and veggies hits the spot every time. Philippe and Mike, as managers or supervisors (or as Rusty's representatives were presented to me) are horrible trolls with no managerial experience! For the owner's sake I hope they were phone reps screwing around. After I ordered online...it is 2014...Mike admitted the system was down ( I waited one hour for food with no call), Mike apologized and took my phone order, after one hour of me waiting (of course without food,) they gave me $5 off and said pizza will be hot and coming. After 45 minutes and still no pizza...anyone else hungry? I called back. Philippe was rude enough to say it's not his problem, which is shocking if you are a manager or owner. he should have just made my medium pizza free WHENEVER it arrived. But no!!! They have my number listed as a problem customer...just because I want hot food....As I voiced how upset I was, the driver finally arrived with a lukewarm pizza and heard me on the speaker phone with Philippe who was denying me a free pizza after waiting 2 hours for food. I gave the pizza back to the driver who said "it's not my fault." This company is a horrible customer service company and the pizza, which used to be great, is marginal at best and not worth ordering if you are hungry in 30 minutes. I have lived in Santa Barbara for 15 years now, own a major real estate company, managed two restaurants, and I will YELP with the best pizza company for everyone to order from! Came here for the first time with my best friend on Thursday. The pizza is absolutely first-rate, and the local '805' beer makes a nice accompaniment. The place has a very friendly atmosphere, and a bench-style center seating area with side booths reminiscent of pizza parlors I remember from the '70's.
