This is my favorite Rustys location. I always get their canadian bacon + pineapple pizza. I recently tried their mango habanero wings and they were very good. They are more on the sweeter side with a hint of spicyness but they had a great flavor. I also recently tried their garlic cheesy bread and hands down one of the best. This location doesn't seem to have as good service (read: takeout wings order) as the one in Santa Barbara by the train station, but the pizza quality is consistent, and that's what really matters! I love this type of pan pizza- it takes me back every time to when I was a kid and pizza hut had higher quality pizza. Love Rusty's, and wish they had another location closer to OC! read more

We attempted to go to the Italian location across from Rusty's that was too busy to park so we ended up here at Rusty's Pizza and I am so glad because our group was so pleased with our dinner. We got pizza and a beer and wine. The pizza was delicious, the staff were so friendly with such a relaxing feel that it felt like a pizza parlor from our time growing up. I am sure we saved money coming here and more than likely had a better time than the busy, loud and crowded place across the way. We went here on Saturday evening on Memorial Day weekend. After walking a few miles on the beach this place was just what the doctor ordered! We ordered a Rusty special(less the anchovies and olives), garlic cheesy bread, salads, and some drinks. Here's a break down of our experience! The service was not above and beyond, but it was still good and they got the food out to us pretty quickly despite it being dinner rush. The salad bar was fresh stocked and really tasty, and an all around hit! Recommend trying the Italian dressing, it was creamy and oh so tasty! The pizza was perfect! It's everything you could want from a parlor pizza joint ( something I grew up with). The cheesy bread was soft and tasty, and while it said garlic, it wasn't so much garlic that you couldn't talk to someone for the next three days. Over all, this is a good salt of the earth kind of joint, and it has remained untouched by some of the more trendy styles of food. My name was called, I figured maybe they need to verify or they forgot something. Nope. They gave my 13 year old son the hot metal pan to take to the table himself. He ran to get to the table to avoid dropping it. I asked the guy to please bring the second pizza because my son can burn himself with the hot pan. He didnt. I am told by my Carpinteria born SO, that there are really is only one pizza place in Carp - Rusty's. And apparently, there is some sort of a very mild version of the New Haven Pepe's vs. Sally's pizza war going on between Rusty's and another place that I'll not name. Being just a visitor to town, I wanted to avoid the fray and chose Rusty's to deliver dinner my last night in town. The website is a bit clunky - it doesn't have the smooth appearance and bells and gimmicky design of the major chains (there is no "pizza tracker"). But it will get the job done. Times quoted for delivery are notoriously longer than how long it actually takes... I was quoted one hour but the order arrived in about 25 minutes - and I'm told that's normal. Hey, it's a small town and there are only like 3 stoplights so traffic isn't a real problem. Prices are reasonable... $20 for a large 2-topping. Driver was very friendly. Pizza was quite good - not the best EVER, but I'd be willing to say it's probably the best in Carp. Even better was the side order of garlic cheese bread ($5.99 for a large order)... delicious! Definitely an add-on item, unless you're concerned about too much cheese and bread in your life. And if you are - so sad. Good value. Good food. I can easily see being on Team Rusty. read more

We stopped by late on sat evening. Place was empty about 9pm. We chose the medium pizza. My side was extra jalapeños and my girlfriend side was ham. The pizza was really good!..it was fluffy..the cheese didn't fall off and they definitely put extra jalapeños as I requested!..we got the wings also which were tasty as well. Whenever I am in the Carpinteria area for work or fun, I always like coming to Rusty's Pizza Parlor. They have a great lunch Special: Individual Pizza (2 toppings) Small (One trip Salad Bar) Drink $7.95. What a deal! The pizza here is really good, I have gotten the pan as well as the thin crust versions. I prefer the thin crust, it is cooked to perfection and has a crispy outer crust and the rest is delicious. Pepperoni and Jalapeño is the only way to go for me. I would have given it 5 stars, but in the last couple years they changed the salad bar to 1 visit only and the bowl is fairly small. You used to be able to go back as many times as you wanted, which was nice. Not that I was eating that much more, but at least I did not have to try and stuff everything into one bowl on my first and only trip. Not a big deal, but just wanted to share why I have them a 4, rather than a five. That won't stop me from coming back, I sometimes go out of my way to visit Rusty's, I really like it. They also have a big screen TV you can watch and a selection of old school video games.
