This was the perfect sandwich shop for our beach day. I asked the cashier what sandwich he would recommend for me and he said the Turkey on the Range with ciabatta. I decided to also get a PB and J sandwich just to see how they were as well, so I ordered the Peebee's Gone Bananas with honey wheat bread. Staff was friendly and helpful. The order was ready in less than 10 minutes. The Turkey on the Range was a great choice. Plenty of Turkey with avocado, red onion, cheese, tomato and ranch dressing. It felt like a solid meal and I felt pretty satisfied after eating it. The PB and J was for a snack later on and I shared half of it with my sister. It was nothing to write home about. Pretty standard for PB with bananas and honey. But it was still a good choice. I definitely would come back on my next vacation.

    Super chicken on ciabatta

I'm generally not a sandwich guy but I wanted something to grab and go. Peebee and Jays prides itself on offering high quality food made for the diner on the go. They had a plethora of options, but the sever told me the super chicken was very popular and recommended it on ciabatta. Otherwise I was eyeing the thanksgiving turkey sandwich... Minutes after placing my order, I was out the door, sandwich in hand. While the sandwich wasn't huge, every bite was perfect and I left satisfied. I'm a huge fan of the Anaheim chiles paired with the garlic aioli (they called it "garlic mayo," which is the same thing). The ciabatta was soft, warm, and lightly toasted. My experience at Peebee and Jays has made me rethink my stance on sandwiches -- maybe deep down inside I am a sandwich guy after all, but only if it's a great sandwich!

    Carpinterian Sandwich with ciabatta

Peebee & Jays to go for a beach side picnic was a great idea! Just like mom used to make, on honey wheat bread this peanut butter w/banana sandwich hits the spot when craving sweet and savory. Maybe it was the cream cheese, or because I've been mayo deprived for years but this was best vegetarian sandwich I've had in years. The Carpintarian is a sandwich you can really sink your teeth into. Carrot shreds are different but I still enjoyed it. The ciabatta bread really made this a fulfilling sandwich! The place is small with some tables inside and a few outdoors. Lots of folks picking up orders to-go.

We had high hopes for this sandwich shop because of the reviews and we were very disappointed. We ordered three sandwiches and none were amazing. My husband had the Italian on a soft roll and he said it was just ok. I had the Thanksgiving on a soft roll and it was very underwhelming. Almost no cream cheese or cranberry sauce to the point of it being dry. The only thing I could really taste was the red onion (which I love but I want other flavors as well). My daughter had the signature Peebee and Jay on white sourdough. She was very disappointed and said it tasted like a bad school lunch pb&j. She wanted is super gooey and a lot more jelly. The shop was super cute inside and the employee that helped us was nice. We just wanted better sandwiches. $45 for three sandwiches, 2 chips and 2 fountain drinks seemed very expensive for the quality of the sandwiches.

    Chicken Cordon Bleu - yummy!

After finally deciding where I wanted to go to lunch, I'm glad I chose this establishment. This was my first time and I ordered the Chicken Cordon for lunch and also the Bacon Went on a Date for dinner. I asked for both on sourdough and, as another reviewer stated, the crust was unchewable unfortunately, hence the four stars. Other than the, both sandwiches were absolutely delicious and refreshing and the employees were very kind and patient. All of the sandwiches, salads and soups sounded amazing and I plan to come here again. Thank you!

Customer service was good, Sandwich was ok but not great Overly expensive But the cleanliness is not there, the floor was just disgusting, girls don't change their gloves, and there was a child in there? Like couldn't have been older than 8 years old? Yeah not great

The food was amazing. I came all the way from LA county just for this spot. I highly recommend it.

What a gem of a sandwich shop! Just passing through Carpenteria and found it on Yelp. In a shopping center just off the 101. Great variety of soft fresh bread with any combination of meat, vegetarian, or sweet sandwich options you could imagine. I loved the vegetarian Carpenterian with golden heirloom tomatoes.

And it's a such a cute little cafe and a quiet town, we have been itching to go back ever since, to try more of their food items and of course get more coffee :).

I was excited to try this cafe with my friends after seeing that it had many positive Yelp reviews,…read morebut I was severely disappointed in the taste of my drink and in the service throughout our visit. Though the shop was cute, clean, and had a lovely covered patio outside, I wouldn't recommend it for those stopping by for coffee on road trips. I got a seasonal spring drink called the Irish Cream Mocha and asked for it iced. Unfortunately, it just tasted like chocolate milk. Now, I like a good chocolate milk, but not when I paid for a specialty flavored mocha! I didn't detect an Irish cream flavor or even a hint of mocha. As a latte, it was way too milky and lacked the depth of an espresso drink. Contrary to its description on the menu, it wasn't balanced at all. How misleading. My friend tried one of the craft energy drinks, and it looked pretty, but she said that it was flat and tasted kinda meh. She also got a visually-appealing soda, which apparently tasted much better compared to the energy drink. Another friend ordered the seasonal Dulce de Leche Latte, and she mentioned that it was a bit too light-tasting as a latte. That checks out since my mocha also seemed like it was missing the coffee component haha. Her latte did taste like a caramelly drink made with actual dulce de leche, but she didn't appreciate that the "light" dusting of cinnamon was more like a heaping teaspoon of it thrown into the drink. We noticed that our receipts showed a higher price than what was printed on the menus. We only found out after paying and reviewing the receipts that they charge $0.75 for making drinks iced. We weren't informed of this charge by any of the ladies at the registers upon ordering, and we didn't see any signs stating that iced drinks would incur an additional charge. No explanation anywhere. Another thing that threw me off was when a certain barista handed off the completed drinks in the pickup area. She wasn't wearing gloves, and I don't think she washed her hands in-between tasks, but she was placing the drinks onto the counter while holding them by the top part, aka the lid from where people drink! I was shocked at how unbothered she was while doing that, as if that's how she was trained, or she was never corrected.

Excellent brewery spot with great beer & relaxed service!…read more Located against the railroad track on the back side of the building, it's a bit difficult to find, but just drive all the way in to the large alley, I guess Maple Ave. Nice wide open set up, perfect for a cold beer on a warm day. Wife went for the Crimson Horizon, and she enjoued it. I got a sip and it was smoother butterier than the Firestone cali squeeze? I tried the Avocado Honey Ale since can't go wrong with description of amber honey ale! Was told it was a version of their kolsch with local honey. Wow, it was smooth with a bit of sweet finish, so addictive!!! Still had hours to drive so couldn't just have as many as I wanted, but I checked online and seemed Albertsons sold it so figured I can just pick them up back at home. But the gentleman resting at the bar told me he delivers their beer but only up to the hills. I guess maybe available in stores up to Camarillo, but not over that hill/mountain. I had to have more of it, and they had 6 packs in the cooler for purchase so went for a pack. The green cans are such delightful vessels to hold the even more delightful liquid inside. Wife even cut out the top and using the cute cans as planters, lol! The cans poured out at home was excellent as well, very fresh and refreshing and could get tiny hints of avocado on sips. Just a great beer! After browsing the brewery, it seems avocado honey ale is their signature beer, so I got lucky to choose that from the menu, lol. While enjoying the beer, the amtrak train blew it's horn to leave from the Carpinteria station, so we rushed out to wave and enjoy seeing that go by right in front as well. I am sure the locals were shaking their heads at our excitement of seeing the train go by, one gentleman when leaving even complimented my kid's dance moves from when we were out there to greet and send off the train, lol! Awesome local spot and great folks, just a very relaxing spot to enjoy the delicious avo honey ale! Just hidden so maybe not many visitors to Carpinteria find it, but I picked it out from search for brewery and chose this over the other one on the main streets. What a find for an out of towner! Hope they can expand out or grow their delivery area, maybe get it sent to total wine which must have a distribution center. Otherwise, this is a must stop for any SB trips for sure!
