Giovanni's is truly an institution in Carpinteria. It just wouldn't feel like Carpinteria without it! The pizza is delicious, the atmosphere is fun and welcoming, but what makes Giovanni's especially wonderful are the people. They make you feel like family. They're kind, generous, and genuinely want you to enjoy yourself. It's rare to find a place that has great food and such a strong sense of community and belonging. Giovanni's has been part of the heart of Carpinteria for so many years, and we're so fortunate to have them. read more

Great pizza friendly staff.. nice outside zone. Would recomend. Had a meat lovers pizza

Pretty sure I just witnessed a major health code violation. Regulars here and came to pick up food and saw a male worker breaking up the shredded mozzarella that's in a large bucket/container with his bare hands. The major problem is that he has hair on his arms and the back of his hands which are then undoubtedly touching the cheese. We love this place. The food is great and the employees are kind. That being said, not only do I do not want to eat the food I ordered and paid for, I don't think we can ever come back. read more

We ordered delivery pizza for a large beach party (50 ppl). I can't say enough positive things about the experience. The owner helped me figure out how many pizzas to order, recommended the cuts, and was very helpful and reassuring it would be delivered on time. The pizza was delicious, as was the HUGE tray of antipasta salad, which was loaded with all the goods. Thank you Giovannis!!! read more

What a terrible pizza. Too much cheese that it became soupy, the topping are low quality. The soggy mess was a disappointment.

Great location, nice staff. Not too crowded as compared to other restaurants. Easy to order. read more

Update- visited the Carpinteria store today, first time in about 20 years. They had relocated to a different location. Ordered takeout. I had a 9" meat lover pizza with thin crust and wife had a small antipasto salad. At least the crust was cooked through. The pizza and salad were nothing special. read more

The atmosphere and food were nice, but my experience wasn't as good as I had hoped thanks to an employee. I came in with my husband to pick up a pizza and my cashier was a guy with brown hair and a hat, he felt extremely unprofessional, didn't smile, barely said hello and overall just made me and my husband feel not welcome. I would recommend that he is taught how to properly interact with customers so they feel welcome. Other than that it was a solid experience read more

DOGS SITTING AT THE TABLE! DISGUSTING! They spilled their dog's water on the floor, and haven't even bothered to clean it up! Don't get me wrong, Giovanni's is an amazing place, the food here delicious, the service is always top tier; however, this is unacceptable. Dogs shouldn't be sitting at tables where others eat. I love dogs myself as well, I've had them since I was born, but this shouldn't be allowed. This really impacts the customers who come to Giovanni's, especially those with allergies! Once again, Giovanni's is the best pizza place I've ever been to, but such actions really make me question if I still want to have my pizza here. read more

A family business with absolutely delicious pizza. Amazing crust, cheesy and good. A good vibe. Cool tunes. Brought our puppy. Easy parking. Good prices. Owner seems cool! Great portions. And they have soft serve ice cream! read more

Ordered over the phone for delivery for 3 extra large pizzas and 3 large antipasta salad. We had our food in had in 45 mins. The pizza was hot, fresh - We got 2 Giovanni's specials and 1 pepperoni. The salads are so yummy filled with cheese, meats, veggies, lettuce and the delicious Italian dressing. We had about 14 adults and 3 kids and we probably should have ordered 1 more pizza and 1 less salad but we were happy to eat the leftover salad the next day. We love Giovanni's!! Great lunch at Carp. Giovanni's today. We especially love the yummy BBQ Beef and BBQ chicken sandwiches. Shawn the owner makes his customers feel welcome. Fantastic food, quick friendly service, and good prices. We're happy to be frequent customers. read more

My family and I went to Giovannis for dinner today. My husband witnessed the cooks were not wearing gloves. He saw one of the cooks pour BBQ sauce on the pizza then licked his fingers and continued making the pizza. We also saw cooks on their phones texting then returning to cook the food without washing their hands. We have always loved this pizza place but we are now absolutely disgusted and will never return. All cooks need to handle food in a safe manner and WEAR GLOVES! My husband literally threw up because he was so disturbed. read more

My husband, daughter and I were on a road trip for the 4th of July weekend, hoping for some foster's freeze but unfortunately as we arrived it was a pizza place and not the foster's freeze we wanted. We decided to give this place a shot because I was starving. Walk in and place is absolutely filthy! Cheese shakers and peppers just sitting out almost empty, cobwebs everywhere, booths were torn and old. We wanted a high chair for my daughter but as my husband went to grab one from outside, they were all disgustingly filthy. Unfortunately our pepperoni pizza was undercooked and hard to bite through. The ranch was really good, though. read more

I had a disappointing experience at Giovanni's Pizza in Carpinteria. The restaurant did not appear clean, which made the visit uncomfortable from the start. I also ordered the chicken sandwich, and the chicken seemed undercooked and not prepared properly. Overall, the cleanliness and food quality were both concerning. I hope management addresses these issues to improve the experience for future customers, but I won't be visiting this place again. read more

Mini pizza is a great deal IMO and I love the new location with the soft serve (also a great deal). Everyone there is always super friendly.

My family has been coming to Carpinteria for 50 years and we always went to Geovani's and we always got the best pizza and garlic bread and never had a complaint I don't know since they moved locations. If there is a new owner at last Friday, my family was there. ..... a pizza hardly had any cheese on it and the dough was very chewy and undercooked..... the garlic bread hardly had any taste at all, and after they were there for a while, they threw most of it away Unfortunately, we will NEVER be going back to this location ever again!!! read more

No visit to Carpinteria is complete without having a meal at Giovanni's Pizza. Their pizza is simply amazing, and being from NY, I consider myself a bit of a connoisseur. The service is outstanding and everyone who works there is friendly. The restaurant is immaculate and parking is easy. We look forward to our next visit. read more

Not a typical restaurant in terms of ambience, more lie what used to be perhaps a burger joint, with open and limited seating. We ordered online, the food was not ready when we got there, we waited perhaps five minutes. I ordered a Sangria, which was apparently a soft drink, for the price I should have known! The food was tasty and sufficient, and we were soon on our way. read more

Best barbecue chicken pizza I've ever had and the young man that helped me was wonderful. When in Carpinteria that is my new pizza place.

Giovanni's exceeds every expectation when it comes to customer service, quality of cuisine, ambiance throughout their indoor and Al fresco dining areas. The new location is bright, decorative, classy, family-friendly, conveniently located, offers ample parking, and offers the perfect place to enjoy lunch or dinner. Shawn and family have clearly dedicated so much time, energy and creativity to Giovanni's here in Carpinteria. I highly recommend this restaurant to my fellow authentic pizza lovers! Went here with my girlfriend while we were down at the beach. We both ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo with no chicken. Now I'm sure the pizza here is really great but the Fettuccine was not. The pasta was probably not cooked long enough as it was too tough. The biggest problem was the amount of sauce I was given. It was almost an Alfredo soup. My girlfriend's dish did not look like that so I do not know what happened in the kitchen. The garlic bread was really good and at least I had some soup to dip it in. I will definitely come back here to try the pizza at some point as it did look good. read more

Pizza was ordered with Grubhub which is my main complaint. They said 30 minutes for delivery time but it was actually about 80 minutes till we got the pizza. So I blame grub hub for slow delivery and a cold pizza. The pizza itself was good NY STYLE Thin crust, a bit doughy but that's NY thin pizza. We ordered the Giovanni's special which has tons of toppings, both meat and veggies: onions, bell peppers, ham, olives, mushrooms, sausage and meatballs. The only complaint and minus a star was because the sausages were a bit undercooked. After waiting over an hour for pizza all the sausages were a bit pink inside. We took them all off because who wants undercooked sausages? 16" Large Giovanni's Special please cook the sausages next time! read more

New location, same great food. Predictably good. I stop in here every chance I get. Highly recommend for not just pizza but across the menu.

I was in a hurry so I crossed the street from Rusty's to see if Giovanni's sells slices. They said yes. They suggested the combination of slice, salad and soda and I said OK. It took quite a while to get the food even though no one else was there. But that wasn't the main problem. The main problem was the food. Food is a matter of taste. This did not match my taste at all. The pizza was on thick bread and I prefer thin. It was laden thick with cheese. That slice was probably a full day's worth of calories. The "salad" was lettuce and raw onions piled with more cheese. Another full day's worth of calories. I scraped off as much of the cheese as I could but it was still pretty awful. Maybe some people would like this food, but I am not coming back. Rusty's is so much better. I should have just done the Rusty's salad bar. Even if I got an individual pizza at Rusty's it would have taken the same amount of time. And it would have tasted good and not been an insane load of calories. Again, your taste may be different. read more
