All right, let me start off by random hidden Jim that I was not exactly looking for but stumbled upon. Rozzi was a pizza parlor that definitely surprise me very New York. Very thin sliced old-school greasy pizza style. Love it love it love it love it. Good crisp to the crust great choice of ingredients. I am a traditional list and I love when I get a quality pepperoni slice and this was exactly that the service was great. The owner was outrageously, friendly and super amenable. Really enjoy the pizza by the slice. Quick service, good options, great lunch spot when taking a break from work! Crust is unique as far as pizza goes in Santa Barbara, in a good way. Light and crispy, not too greasy or chewy. I can tell it's intentional, good stylistic choice! I consistently am able to find parking nearby, if this place had more daytime foot-traffic, more people would know about it. Patios could use more shade on sunny days perhaps? About as close as you can get to NYC pizza in SB. Better than Uncle Rocco's for sure. Different than what you get at lucky penny, st bibiana, or even the sourdough pizza at third window. All different categories. In the New York slice category Rozzi wins hands down. Inside is very small and outside patio also small, but very functional space. There's a kiosk inside that you can order on quickly or order at the same counter where your pizza comes up so easier to order with the kiosk. Owner is always here, super New York accent. Very nice guy. You can tell he cares about his spot and you can tell he knows pizza. Now I just need to find some New Haven style pizza in SB and I'll be all set for my east coast pizza fix. read more

David and his staff take very good care of us as we order at the menu kiosk, and then have a comfy seat in their outdoor patio space. They really are perfect for a delicious lunch-time slice, with our favorites being the West Side, Manhattan, and the Flatiron. Was back recently and got their omakase pie. It is a slice of eight different pizzas put together so you can try a broad range of their flavors. We love it. They double slice it so everyone can get a taste. They do such a good job there. It's even a great place to sit outside and have a slice. The pizza here is delicious! We were driving through Santa Barbara on our way home to San Diego and stopped by to pick up a pie and eat it by the dock. We were a little confused upon arrival as there is only the kitchen inside. They do have outdoor seating. An employee instructed us on how to pay for our order on their self service screen. I have to give the food a 5+ star. This is one of the best pizza's I have ever eaten. This is like NY Pizza without the attitude. That's because the owner Rozzi is so kind. Quirky and offbeat location. Urban feeling and a little gritty. But this tiny spot is super new and very fresh. Outdoor seating possible for 1-2 groups and some other seats for a few. Or take to- go. No cash. No waiters. The enticing 7Bar is next door. All the pizzas sounded so good and, yay!, all available as slices. $5-$7. That is super cool and special. Tough to choose....there is the "Rozzi" with spicy vodka sauce- so unique and tempting-, but I went for "White Street" and added hot honey. Love that they offer that. Yum. Boo boo bummer though! My slice was underwhelming, dry, and not tasty. Not what I was expecting. It looked so pretty, but was simply tough to even eat. Not craveworthy. Walked over from our hotel just as Rozzi was about to close up. He ran out of pizza earlier than usual, but offered my wife and I a couple of slices of the Bo$$ which was all he had left. I'll say that I am a traditionalist when it comes to pizza, but our timing was bad for choices, but great for what we were able to get considering the circumstances. Let me just say that it was really good. The crust was fantastic. Really held up well. We were pleasantly surprised. The flavors were unexpectedly good. Attention to the needs of the customers like that is rare these days. I'd say that is exceptional. The patio looked welcoming and I'm sure is a nice place to enjoy a meal. My wife and I were staying in a small hotel near the beach and didn't feel like going out to dinner so I searched for a place close to the hotel. About 2 blocks from our hotel so an easy walk. Found Rozzi's and what a great place!! Ordered a Manhattan pizza and it was delicious. Best NY pizza I have had (outside of NY). Sausage was excellent and the crust was to die for. Went here opening day with high expectations. My wife being from New York, we are always looking for the real deal. Rozzi is basically a window at the front of the kitchen in between Rodeo Room and Bar Seven. I have a feeling Rozzi Pizza is associated with one or both bars, but when I asked the guy that appeared to be the owner of the Rodeo Room, he wouldn't elaborate. There is some seating outside on the street and not sure if they will allow you to take pizza into the bar(s) in the future. There was a decent line and most of the ordering is done at a small kiosk by the front door, but the super nice gentleman making the pies (Rozzi?) was taking orders at the counter while making the pizzas. Given so much staff around, didn't seem very efficient. Nice selection of NY themed 18" pizzas and pizza by the slice(!) No option to split pizza 50/50 on the kiosk, but you could do so if you ordered at the counter. Online ordering I heard will come later. Pizza was ready in ~30min, which wasn't bad considering the activity. I grabbed a cocktail next door while I waited and was told (by the same owner guy?) I could not bring it to Rozzi while I waited - an FYI. Most importantly, the pizza: my wife an I split a pepperoni pie. Most everything was spot on and we were very pleased! Fresh, simple sauce, the right amounts of quality cheese and pepperoni such that all was balanced. Crust was wonderfully crisp, chewy and yeasty, however, it needed to be about half the thickness. It had a really nice body that would hold up to being thinner, but because it was on the thicker side, was a bit overly chewy for our taste and actually difficult, if not impossible to fold. I understand restaurant opening growing pains and will no doubt return, but do thin that crust before I do, please! read more

Let me start this by saying I really really wanted to love this place, but it did fall short for me. I went on opening night and ordered a simple pepperoni pie. Since it was opening night it took 50 minutes to get the pizza. But since it was their first night I was not bothered by the wait and it was somewhat expected. I went back a few weeks later and got the Manhattan and the wait was 25 minutes, so it seems like they have normalized their operations. I have spent a fair amount of time in NYC in a past life and I love a good slice, and this was close, but not quite there. The crust felt thicker and much chewier than it should be with no flop at all. I liked the flavor of the sauce and the cheese seems on point, but my daughter felt like they skimped on the toppings on the Manhattan. You order at a tablet on the wall, which I personally like. As far as the parking goes I am fine with that also as it goes with the area. While $28-$30 for a pizza might seem high for some cities, for SB it is pretty standard pricing so no complaint there. As a side note the full pies are huge, so that is a positive. While SB is not a huge pizza town, there are enough decent options and Rozzi's falls down the line-up for me. I will probably try it again in few months to see if they have improved on the crust and toppings. I have seen similar comments in other reviews so I hope they take the feedback to heart as I would love to get a good NYC style slice in SB. read more

Was hoping for a true New York slice, but left pretty disappointed. The pizza didn't have that classic bend or flop--it was stiff and the crust lacked any real character. The sauce was watery and flavorless, leaving the whole slice flat and forgettable. Prices don't match the quality, and parking's a headache. They ask for a tip at the do it yourself iPad ordering, there's no real service, and the limited outdoor seating makes it clear they expect you to take your food elsewhere. All in all, not worth the money, time, or hassle. I won't be going back. read more

We ordered four pizzas to carry out. I have to admit that my car became a hostage behind a locked gate just across from the establishment. So whatever you do, don't park in the wrong spot! There were a couple of tables outside, which seemed better than maybe being inside. Not even sure they had seating inside, come to think of it. The pizzas were definitely good and we ordered enough to have some for lunch the next day. One of them (and I don't remember which one) but definitely one of them had a very tough crust. The kind that made your jaw hurt. And it did not get better with time. But the toppings were good (especially the pepperoni) and you could tell they're still working out the kinks in the kitchen.
