Honestly this place has gotta be the best pizza & ranch I've ever had. I stumbled upon this gem for the first time this past Wednesday night & it was amazing. They have live jam sessions on their patio Wednesday nights & we got lucky enough to walk into it (such a nice surprise)! Such a fun vibe! We went when it was almost closing time but the server was nice enough to let us order and dine in. The decor is so fun + they play music on a record player! We got the white pizza with ricotta cheese, garlic and shallots. The shallots were blended in with the cheese (instead of being put as toppings) - loved it; added a nice texture. A birthday weekend took me here after visiting the local mission for a jazz concert, and let me tell you, this place such an unexpected delight I now have motivation for coming back. Revolver is the best pizza in the area. I say that without hesitation. It's a small restaurant but they have a small outdoor eating area in front that is actually really nice and relaxing to sit at. Service is pretty no frills but honestly, this is the type of place that most people order pizza for take out. The pizza is fantastic. The crust is perfectly cooked, airy but toothsome, and never burnt. The toppings are generous and high quality. The pizza has the perfect amount of grease and a grease cheese pull that doesn't cause all of the toppings to fall off the pizza. The sauce is great too -- not too sweet, the right amount of acidic, and you can taste the fresh herb and spices. You aren't looking at two thousand Yelp reviews on it because it's one of those 'if ya know, ya know' local spots. We wanted something with character, something that wasn't your stuffy Italian restaurant pizza. We were looking for thin crunchy crust (no drooping), like a New York style. There is a small menu of three whole pizzas, you can also add toppings on like sausage and fresh vegetables. The small menu is nice because you can tell they focus solely on perfecting just a few pizzas. Everything about the experience was as good as it gets. Wine in glass cups, homemade sauce and pizza ingredients, little table lights, the perfect amount of char on the crust - and even Mexican Coke. Waitress and kitchen staff are very friendly and you can tell you are eating pizza that somebody actually cared to make. They have great music playing on the patio area and they make their own ranch dressing. Caesar salad has beautiful gem lettuce sprinkled with parmasean delicately. There are paper plates and little packets of red pepper. We also had the homemade blueberry cheesecake to top off the meal. Both of us left incredibly satisfied and astounded at how we managed to filter out the other pizza places (we are from out of town so we do our research) and just pick this one on a whim and get so lucky. Holy cannoli! I think this is the best pizza I have ever had in the US of A! The pizzas at Revolver take around 45 minutes to make, which I learned after reading reviews here. So, I made sure to leave myself plenty of time to order in advance while driving into Santa Barbara. The lady I spoke to was very friendly on the phone and especially accommodating which was refreshing. We ordered the pepperoni pizza and ate the entire thing in the car :) It was so good we couldn't wait until we arrived at our hotel. I mean who wants to eat pizza cold anyway? You have to eat it when it's piping hot! Lastly I loved how fresh the pepperoni tasted and how large leaves of Basil was added as a garnish. We picked up Revolver for dinner at home with friends and multiple children, and it was a great, simple meal of delicious pizza and salad. We've done this with Lucky Penny and Bettina, and Revolver is definitely good enough to join this stellar rotation. We got a market salad and three 14" pizzas, and this was perfect for four adults and two kids (plus a kind of greedy baby), with just a few slices left over. Everything was fantastic. The market salad was so gorgeous that my three-year-old asked, "What are all those colorful things?" He was talking about the abundance of juicy rainbow cherry tomatoes, but there was also fennel and pink radish and various other lovely vegetables. Even the lettuce was notably fresh, and the dressing was addictive, creamy and bright. The pizza was super satisfying, Neapolitan style with a tangy, herby tomato sauce and a thin, crispy crust that was a tiny but hard and crackery in spots. We stuck to the basic margherita and pepperoni for the children (and my picky husband), but there were several other toppings we could've ordered a la carte. I loved the pepperonis, which were curled up into little cups, crispy at the edges and loaded with flavor. At some point, I'd like to visit Revolver in person, but for now, I'm happy it provides such wonderful take-out pizza. I look forward to our next order. read more

I have been hearing about Revolver Pizza since the day it opened. Let's be honest, the pizza scene in Santa Barbara is pretty sad. Sorry natives, Rusty's doesn't cut it unless that's your only option. Revolver brings what they say is "New York Style" thin crust pizza. It's true, the crust is slightly fluffy with a slight crunch and salty hint of flavor. They use local ingredients when possible, so bring on some veggies and meat. They offer a Caesar and Market salad with beautiful lettuce and fresh ingredients, plus homemade dressings. Now this pizza requires a good thirty minutes to prepare and bake--honestly I'm not quite too sure why sooo long given it's thin crust. Nonetheless, I called ahead and got the down-low from a friendly guy in the phone. Each pizza is 14 inches, feeds about two people and is circular but cut into triangular slices. Upon arrival, however, the gal who worked the register was very straight forward and no nonsense. (Aka not friendly or inviting whatsoever). The inside of the place is hippy-dippy. Lots of antiques, some local art for sale on the walls (with even a numbered art directory), and plants about. There is limited seating but a few tables on an outdoor patio and a couple stools at the front window. They have local kombucha, ciders, natural wines and normal sodas in a fridge. I truly appreciated that they have an area to recycle or compost your pizza box if you dine in. While not the absolute best pizza I've eaten, this is truly one of the better options in Santa Barbara! read more

There's a funky vibe in this almost-hidden shop that makes it endearing. There isn't much room to eat there except for the four tables in the courtyard out front. In keeping with the funky vibe, newcomers are usually welcomed to share a table. My initial thought was that they were a little pricey, but if they were as good as advertised it would be worth it. My second thought was that they are definitely worth it. The slices are thick with all first quality ingredients and are quite filling. We can't wait to try the thin crust whole pie. For whatever reason, the Santa Barbara area is randomly a great pizza town. There are so many places and my girlfriend and I have pleasantly been surprised by nearly all of them. Revolver, however, blows every single other spot out of the water. As you walk up to the restaurant, you are met with a beautiful hedge of flowers and cute outdoor seating with plenty of heating lamps. Inside, the owner spins his records for all of the patrons to enjoy. We ordered the pepperoni and the white pizza. The crust on both was so light an airy which a crispy, perfectly done undercarriage. The pepperoni pieces are perfection and "curl" when they are cooked. Nice savory flavor! The pies are only available in 14", but don't let the smaller size fool you! I was soooo full after 4 pieces. We live on the Mesa and have only gotten take-out from Revolver so far. It takes 2 of us to pick it up, because parking is such a nightmare, so one person jumps out and gets in line to pick it up and the other circles the block half a dozen times. Usually, I circle and hubby waits, and he always complains that he's waiting in the same space where others are dining (without masks), so he worries it's not the safest environment to get takeaway during the pandemic. I took away one star, because it would be much better if you could pay in advance or online and call when you arrive and they bring it to the curb, OR if they just did delivery. Nonetheless, we can't live without pizza sometimes, and when that happens, Revolver is the only place we will order from. They use Bianco DiNapoli cherry tomatoes in their sauce, sourdough crust, and homemade mozz, which they aren't selling yet, but boy, do I wish they would! Had to see what the hype was about their pizza and gave it shot by calling their "hotline" as they call it online and reserved a whole pepperoni pizza to pick up in the late afternoon. The guy was friendly and took my name down. I called at 1pm and asked that I pick up at 3:30. A bit hard to find parking but it's located on the Westside of Santa Barbara. I had to drive around to find street parking and walk 2 blocks which was fine. Small outdoor patio that's very quaint, and their interior is filled with artwork. Menu is small with focus on their small menu as well - which is always something I like (I'm a fan of specialty menus). For $19 before tax - I'm telling ya - best pizza I've ever had... Being a traditionalist towards certain foods - I would say pizza officially falls on that list. Revolver's pizza has a crisp chew in the dough, a nice wood Smokey char, pepperoni and mozzarella great quality, the tomato sauce was fresh with the right sour and sweet note. Perfectoooooo. You have to choose the whole pie though rather than their slices to get it this style - I did read other reviews and the individual slices are made differently. Good for 2 to share and we killed it!
