On a short getaway ended up finding Misa by accident and Santa Barbara. They have a wonderful little restaurant row here full of shopping and places to go and see and things to do and Mizza is in the heart of it. You can tell that they're a big fan of April because April spritzes and April paraphernalia. Leah adorned the place and it sticks out against the traditional Italian vibe that has been set up making it seem a little funky here and sexier. We were greeted by a affable server who had been doing it for some time and good service, but was a little bit absent at times Overall, the food was good. Nothing that I eat. Was that incredibly memorable the chicken Parmesan was above the average but the reason for the four stars is Monika's food was exceptional and she finished every single bite. My family came here on a Saturday afternoon around 1 pm & while we had a reservation, they had plenty of indoor and outdoor seating so it probably wasn't needed. Very Italian ambiance with the decor, felt like we got a taste of Europe! We ordered the bruschetta, wild mushroom & leek pasta, mushroom pizza, and spicy shrimp pasta which were all delicious. The pizza was a family favorite, very well seasoned with a strong truffle flavor. I also loved how generous they were with the shrimp for the pasta, but thought they could add more noodles compared to the sauce. That was the first time I ever experienced that lol. I ordered takeout from Mizza before heading to the airport. The decor inside and out was nice, staff was friendly and food came out within a reasonable time despite it being pretty busy. I was shocked at the size of my risotto and the huge portion of meaty lobster it came with! So good. And also shocked at how big my pizza was. So many options to choose from but I was glad I tried the peach one because it was on the lighter side. I definitely overordered as I didnt anticipate so much food but happy to have leftovers for 2 more days :). Would definitely love to sit and eat outside next time and try more things! read more

Service was great- waiter very kind and attentive. Restaurant itself was nice and at a great location. We ordered the bruschetta, the fettuccine bolognese and pesto pasta. Starting with the bruschetta, the bread was toasted well and seasoned with oil and salt, but the actual spread was lacking. Could have benefited from fresher tomatoes, slightly more generous balsamic and more basil ratio. I have had many bruschetta better than this but if you're already here it hits the spot. The bolognese fettuccine was incredibly salty. The pasta itself was al dente, cooked well and I think they make the pasta by hand. However, the sauce was not great or particularly flavorful aside from the saltiness. Acidity of tomato was lost. Again i think increasing the tomato flavor would have made it better and generally reducing the salt amount significantly. I would NOT order this again. Pesto pasta was better but not spectacular. Overall, if you are in the area and really just craving Italian, this is a good place to stop by but for the price you pay and the quality of the food I would not come back. read more

The finest cuisine, incredible ambiance and the most attentive staff I've ever encountered at a restaurant and it happens with each visit to Mizza. Today it was our joy to see Issac who came over to say hello to us and ask how we were and what has been going on since last we saw him. We briefly chatted about everything we could before he had to attend to his tables. We inquired about T and Xavier and sent our best regards. Then we met Raphaela who was new to us but not new to Mizza as she has been there for five years. She is as proficient as she is kind hearted and treated us like we've known each other forever. This is what makes Mizza so special and why we travel almost two hours to eat, imbibe and enjoy our meals there. Before we order our main course, it's time for my Black Manhattan which is perfection in a glass. We followed this with their delicious Caesar Salad. The exacting combination of flavors blended to make an excellent beginning to a fine entree to follow. We were in heaven with our Salmon Piccata and Spicy Shrimp. The flavorful spices and ingredients in these dishes makes us wish we lived closer so we can dine on these exemplary delights more often but it only serves to make us look forward even more each time we make the trip there. As it was my birthday, I told Issac if he comes out with a slice of cake, I'm going to sing with him and the staff. I've included the video here. My sister wanted pizza so we stumbled upon Mizza and tried it out Checked in with the hostess at the podium and our party of 5 was seated right away for lunch time. Indoor and outdoor seating available here. We sat outside and the tables felt a bit unclean and sticky. I shared the Mushroom Truffle Pizza and was definitely sharable size. Loved the mushroom flavor, pizza could of used more truffle oil or flavor on it. Crust wasn't too thick and overall pizza wasn't too greasy -which was good. Service was overall friendly, attentive. Although we had to ask twice for chili oil. Overall, if in the area, I'd give this place another try. Worth it to sit outside, they have plenty of heaters and especially during December when the space and La Arcada are so beautifully decorated for the holidays. We had great service and the food was delicious. We got the sopressata pizza, spicy shrimp pasta, the Tuscan dip and tomato burata app. All we would come back wnd gladly order again. They have a nice big selection of beverages. I had a glass of sangiovese, and my husband got a cucumber mocktail that was so refreshing. Overall, couldn't have asked more. I recommend you order pasta at this lovely Italian spot. It's cooked perfectly al dente and they have an array of sauces. The service was fine, the decor is simple and a little rustic, they have inside & plenty of outside seating. The pasta was cooked perfectly & the pizza dough was good too. I will say that I wish they sliced their mushrooms instead of quartering them because I felt like my bites had too much mushroom to chew through on the pizza. To be fair I ordered the mushroom truffle pizza (which barely had a truffle taste..disappointing) & spicy shrimp pasta (which I didn't realized had a lot of mushrooms too). I still loved my pasta and just ate around the shrooms. Overall, everyone in my party was happy with the meal. I had an extremely disappointing experience at this restaurant and I hope the owner addresses it. Service: The worst service I've ever experienced from the two hostess working on December 6th (7pm -9pm) which completely RUINED our night. We were told by the two female hostess (one brunette and one blonde) that there would be a 25 minute wait time which we completely understood. We entered the wait list at 7:16pm but we were seated at 8:13pm. We were informed that it may take a bit longer because we wanted to sit inside which we understood. However, when we were informed by Yelp that were first in line, we continued to wait another 20+ minutes. What made it worse was the fact that the hostess led two parties INSIDE whom had just arrived. This makes no sense as we were first on the waitlist. The two hostess, especially the blonde one from the beginning of the night did not have a good tone or attitude towards my party. After waiting for over an hour, the brunette hostess led us inside to a dirty table that was meant for a party of 6. This made me question the restaurants staff training, why would they have not checked if the table was cleared and cleaned before bringing us there? Furthermore, we were a party of 2, being seated at a table of 6 would not make sense. The hostess said that she could seat us OUTSIDE after we had already waited another hour. If we were going to be seated outside at the end of the night, what was the point of waiting more? The table was extremely rocky and on a slope. I am BEYOND disappointed and will not be returning. Our server (another blonde girl) was amazing but the hostesses ruined our night. It seems like many customers have had terrible experiences with their hostesses based on the reviews. Ordered it once again, and it still is just as delish as I remembered. PRO TIP: you can order extra complimentary bread! Spicy sausage pizza: 5/5. I loved this really cheesy pizza with a bit of a kick from the spicy sausage. The flavors are POPPIN!! Spicy shrimp + pink vodka sauce pasta: 4.5/5. So yummy, addicting, and bursting with flavor! I love a good seafood pasta with creamy tomato sauce that has no acidity. My only complaint was that it got a little too salty as you ate more of it, so if they salted it a little less, this would be a 5/5 for me. Tavon was one of the best servers we have ever had! He had such a great personal connection with us as well as all of his tables that I noticed. We sat outside in the from area which was so beautiful next to heaters and in the heart of SB on state street. All of the food we got was amazing. The Tuscan dip was so amazing I'm still dreaming about it. My boyfriend is gluten free and T got a great alternative to bread for him which was so nice! The filet was tender and the potatoes were perfectly crisp and soft. The veggies were so steamed and soft just how I like it! We had such a great time we ended up coming back because I was looking for a sauv blanc from New Zeland and none of the other places that we popped out head in had any! Really loved this place!! Went with a group of 13 for my birthday. Service was good and the food was delicious. I didn't take a picture of the spicy shrimp pasta, but that was my favorite. My sister ordered it and allowed me to try some. I have the pesto chicken pasta, which was also good just not as good as the spicy shrimp pasta. Everyone was happy with their food. They even gave me a tiramisu and sang to me . I wonder if this location bought out another restaurant because it feels like two separate rooms. As soon as I received my mushroom and leek pasta I knew this place was special. I could immediately tell that the pasta is handmade and with its beautiful pale color I am guessing they import their flour from Italy. I live part-time in Barcelona and have traveled quite a bit to different parts of Italy. Our food and drinks were absolutely on par with the best pastas we have enjoyed from Rome to Florence, and to be honest, it was better than any pasta I had on my trip to Milan three weeks ago. When I am back in the states I crave Italian food like no other cuisine in Europe, and I am so very excited to have discovered this restaurant.
