Looking forward to dinner here but it turned out to be a disappointment, Ordered calamari appetizer (good) and overpriced $60 (menu) bottle of $15 (retail) Banfi Chianti. Really a 400% mark up is necessary? We ordered two pastas, Fusilli tartuifato and papardelle Boscola. Papardelle were good, but the fusilli sauce was watery, like soup, so the minimal flavor did not really stick to the noodle. Also very little truffle flavor in the sauce, was embarrassingly bad. We sent it back suggesting any other pasta dish would be a better choice but they insisted on replacing it with another identical order which was just as bad. We gave up and overpaid for unsatisfactory pasta meal. Service was ok, had to ask for water fill up, but we did not fault the waiter for bad food, not his fault. The salad had a mustard vinaigrette, very well balanced dressing, but not much mustard taste, lettuce mix was good and finely shaved cheese was excellent. The halibut came with a fresh tomato sauce that was a great accompaniment to the fresh and perfectly cooked halibut. Sides included roasted potatoes and beets. Visiting SB and having been told by local friends this was one of the two best Italian in town... Ordered a simple tagliatelle bolognese and a martini. Thank god the martini was drinkable! The bolognese was thick and rich. The tagliatelle was served with a fork and spoon; didn't need the fork as it was SO OVERCOOKED, limp without texture that I could not even wind a single strand of noodle onto my fork. Have had microwave pasta meals with better pasta. If Tony Soprano was served this pasta dish, he would have thrown it to the floor and said oops, can I have a word with the pasta chef? My husband had the halibut, and it was outstanding: a huge, beautifully prepared steak topped with a garlic lemon wine sauce that was absolutely to die for. Dessert took things over the top. The cannoli was crisp and creamy, and the spumoni with dark chocolate was hands down one of the best desserts we've had, decadent, balanced, and unforgettable. My Last Dinner in Ca'Dario. I used to recommend Ca'Dario to our friends, but I will no longer go there, or recommend their restaurant. On 6/20/2026 we had our last dinner in that restaurant. Food was below average. Bread was dry, pasta was reheated with areas of cold pasta. Service was not good. The water waiter pour tap water in our sparkling bottled water glasses. He removed the glasses and brought a second bottle, but charged us for that bottle. We asked a couple of servers for the name of the spice in the pasta sauce. They did not know and proceeded to ask the owner. He was not happy about the question and rolled his eyes making a mocking face. Apparently the costumers are not allowed to ask questions. The response from the servers was that nobody in the kitchen speaks Spanish so they do not know the name of the spice in the pasta sauce. The restaurant was not too busy that day, but it took a long time to serve us. Finally they added 20% tip. Because I was there with guests I did not want to argue with them about the tip. For all the friends that I recommended Ca'Dario, I apologize. (I take very seriously my recommendations). For Ca'Dario, I hope you learn something from this review and you don't loose more costumers. read more

When I questioned the bill, he was very reluctant to do anything and only did so after I said I would be very unhappy. We had our post courthouse wedding reception dinner at Ca' Dario and LOVED it!! I cannot recommend it enough! It's just a short couple minute walk down the street from the courthouse, so the location is perfect after courthouse weddings. The staff were all absolutely amazing and super accommodating. Lisa, the manager, made it super simple to plan the event, menu, and day of event schedule. She is the sweetest! The food is 10/10 amazing (highly recommend the brown butter and sage ravioli and tiramisu!). All our guests were served the antipasto and then had their choice of salad, pasta, entree, and dessert from the set menu and it was so filling. I forgot to take pics of the food, but I promise it's the best and all my guests reached out later saying they loved the food as well. Everyone was super happy with the reception dinner. It's unique and perfectly executed every time- the ravioli is pillowy, the sauce is buttery and aromatic, and the crispy sage gives it that WOW factor. Keep in mind it's very rich, so a glass of wine pairs perfectly with this dish. What brings my score down is the dinner experience. When seated inside, it can get humid and very stuffy, exasperated by how close the tables are from one another. The decor has the charm of a cozy Italian family restaurant, but the lighting is so dim at night, it adds to the discomfort. Love this place but I just got takeout from them to eat before class across the street... I asked for takeaway silverware and the server was super rude. She said no we don't have that. I said ok.... Then can I borrow a fork and bring it back right after class? And she laughed and said no. I highly recommend you bring ear plugs and prepare to have zero conversation with your dining companions if you choose to eat a Ca' Dario. They have crammed so many tables in the two spaces, you literally have to push/pull them back and forth in order to squeeze around other diners and to get up/down from the table. That means there's far too many people sitting in the space, and with the high ceilings and hard surfaces, everything is loud, loud, loud. Service was poor. Our server started out fine. Once our food was delivered she was never to be seen again. More water? Would have loved some. Fresh pepper for your salad? That would have been nice. She did get swamped and in the weeds very quickly, but still didn't change the fact that other neighboring tables received service and we did not. The gluten free pasta was great. The romana salad was lovely. But none of that was worth the headache that came after the nonstop cacophony of noise for the duration of our meal. read more

It seemed like a lot more clams were sandy than not. When I dipped my bread into the broth and took a bite, I had a mouthful of sand! I poured the remainder of broth into the emptied shell dish to see what I was dealing with and found TONS OF SAND AT THE BOTTOM OF MY DISH! Gross oversight. Careless kitchen. The other night my friends and I had a dinner event at Ca' Dario. We showed up at the time of our reservation and we're promptly seated. Our waiter immediately came over and brought us waters and bread to start the night off. While deciding on what we were going to order he offered open up and pour the wine had brought. We started the dinner ordering several appetizers and shared amongst the group. It made the dinner experience very casual as if we were at a friend's house. Our main course followed and I ordered the Tagliatelle Alla Bolognese. The noodles were perfectly and the traditional meat sauce was some of the best I've ever had! Yesterday my date and I were looking for a brunch restaurant and found that Ca Dario in Montecito is open from 11 am to 9 pm every day; something we didn't know and were glad to find out! We were seated outside on the deck at a nice white table clothed table basking in the warmth of two heaters. I ordered the sea bass puttanesca, which came with a spicy tomato sauce, olives, a side of sauteed spinach and two large sliced red beets. The dish is probably one of my favorite fish dishes that I have ever eaten! The puttanesca sauce was so delicious and spicy with the beautiful black and green olives giving it a tang. I hope that this dish stays on the menu, because I will definitely be back! read more

Today we ordered a vegetable fasilli and the chicken brick dish. Neither was very good. The pasta dish lacked flavor. There wasn't much in terms of vegetables. It was so disappointing I thought of taking a picture but it really was such a boring dish. White beans would give this some flavor and more protein. We've suggested they look at adding some beans to their vegan vegetarian dishes but have been met with radio silence 2 The chicken brick dish was not very good. Three people tried it and all were very disappointed. I'll try to add a picture of it. Very little of it was eaten. 3. The bread is an Average plus We used to go here years ago and it was pretty good. I Food today was from the Santa Barbara location on Victoria Street. We've also had disappointing meals At their montecito location. We really wish they would spend a little bit more time on their items and their ingredients especially for the pricing.
