    Seafood risotto special
    Valerie K.

Wow, this is the spot! I got one of their specials for the night which was their seafood risotto, oh my goodness it was incredible! Packed with fresh seafood perfectly creamy and flavorful, large pieces of crab and scallops too. I was literally their last guest served here and never felt rushed to eat and leave. Great service and ambiance. Looking forward to my next visit already!

The food here was really good: fresh, flavorful, and definitely a highlight. I enjoyed everything I ordered, and you can tell the kitchen takes pride in the dishes. The reason for the 3 stars is more about the overall experience. The service was just okay: polite, but nothing that stood out, and it felt a bit slow at times. The restaurant itself has a very small indoor seating area, which makes it feel a little cramped, especially during busier hours.

A Year Later and Still Blown Away My wife and I just celebrated our 1 year anniversary at this incredible Italian restaurant in Santa Barbara and it felt like coming home. Exactly one year ago, Lisa helped us coordinate our rehearsal dinner here for 30+ guests, and it was absolutely perfect. From the food to the atmosphere, everything was handled with such warmth and care. Coming back this year for a more intimate dinner brought all those amazing memories flooding back. Lisa welcomed us like family just like she did a year ago and made our anniversary dinner feel so special. Whether you're planning a big celebration or just looking for a cozy date night spot, this place delivers every single time. Huge thank you to Lisa and the entire team. We can't recommend this place enough.

Excellent Italian cuisine off the main drag. Started with a nice Manhattan and mocktail, followed by an excellent glass of Amarone. The homemade pastas were excellent and especially enjoyed the ravioli al burro with sage, and the spinach tagliatelle with bolognese. Italian bread with olive oil was delicious as was the fresh butter leaf lettuce salad. Enjoyed sidewalk seating with our dog. Service was attentive and efficient.

Went for brunch. Great food, cozy place close to State Street. Delicious bread! Good service.

Cute Italian restaurant, great candlelit ambience and some variety on the menu. I agree with others that the hostesses and waitresses are quite inexperienced and impacted our overall experience. Our server however was much nicer and attentive. Seafood risotto was tasty! I'd say almost 8/10. Would not recommend the bruschetta however. Prices are a bit higher, but not surprising due to the area. Worth a try if you like that kind of food!

As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by Lindsey--and let me tell you, the customer service was beyond excellent. The food was amazing! I had the rack of lamb, and it was cooked to perfection. The place has a charming, old-fashioned decor, and everyone was very friendly and helpful. I will definitely be coming back!

We had our post courthouse wedding reception dinner at Ca' Dario and LOVED it!! I cannot recommend it enough! It's just a short couple minute walk down the street from the courthouse, so the location is perfect after courthouse weddings. The staff were all absolutely amazing and super accommodating. Lisa, the manager, made it super simple to plan the event, menu, and day of event schedule. She is the sweetest! The food is 10/10 amazing (highly recommend the brown butter and sage ravioli and tiramisu!). All our guests were served the antipasto and then had their choice of salad, pasta, entree, and dessert from the set menu and it was so filling. I forgot to take pics of the food, but I promise it's the best and all my guests reached out later saying they loved the food as well. Everyone was super happy with the reception dinner. Ca' Dario will always hold a special place in our hearts now and we will definitely be back whenever we are in the Santa Barbara area and of course anniversary date night dinners! :) Thanks Lisa and the amazing Ca' Dario team for a wonderful reception!!

Perfect day to sit outside with the heatwave. Also nice to start with a little bubbly. Their wine selections from Sonoma and Napa as well the coast were all amazing. This really is the perfect place for both wine AND food…read more So far we've been in a couple times sitting in the bar area and also out on their comfy patio space. Our servers Alex and Kayla were exceptional at both suggesting some delicious lunch items, and also giving a rundown on their different wine tastings. They gave us some helpful information on the assorted varietals and vintages as well. We went in specifically for their M5 and Riviera Rose, but discovered their extensive selection of other varietals and vintages. Came away with some new favorites: Sauvignon Blanc, Trois Blondes (a delicious white blend), Viognier, Mourvedre, and Estate Syrah. Perfect that they open at noon for lunch. We paired our wines with their Santa Barbara Smokehouse Salmon, Smoked Duck and Arugula Salad, Chicken Pesto Sandwich, and Sausage Mushroom & Carmelized Onion Pizza. Still so much on their menu to enjoy.

It was chilly so she tried to light the heat lamp at my request but both that one and the replacement did not work. The replacement actually had the propane disconnected so I assume someone knew that tank needed to be changed out but didn't do it. The other tables from the large party were full of wine glasses and a half eaten pizza. Those sat there for over an hour, and we watched several groups of people come but leave without being seated because no server was available yo seat them and the only open table hadn't been cleared. When it was finally cleared, one guest at a near by table commented that the pizza shouldn't go to waste. The girl who cleared the table initially carried it inside but came right back out with it and served it to that guest whose kid ate it. I'm all for not wasting food and if the guest had gotten up and grabbed the pizza himself, that would be one thing... but to serve old food that had been sitting out for a long time to a guest is a no no for a business. We otherwise enjoyed most of the wines in our tasting flight. Would've given 5 stars if service had been more timely, tables cleared and old food not served up.

In a stretch of Lower State packed with breweries, wine bars, and roaming weekend energy-drink humans in vintage bowling shirts, it threads the needle nicely between cocktail bar and tropical escape pod. The menu leans tiki-adjacent rather than deep-cut exotica, but the drinks are smartly built and avoid the "every problem can be solved with more rum" philosophy. There's a solid spread of spirits across the board, which makes the place feel more welcoming to a broader nightlife crowd instead of strictly rum disciples clutching vintage Trader Vic's mugs. The Oaxacan Dead was the standout for me. Smoky, balanced, endlessly sippable. One of those drinks where every sip quietly talks you into ordering another without turning into a sugar avalanche. The Jungle Bird was also great, though presented more in the direction of a Negroni than the punchier tropical versions you usually see. Bitter, restrained, and easy to settle into. Crowd-wise, things tilted a little frat-floaty as the night rolled on, but the staff handled everything smoothly and kept the vibe from turning into full pirate mutiny. Service stayed friendly and composed even when the volume of the room started climbing like a malfunctioning theremin. Big bonus points for the location and outdoor seating. Being right in the middle of Lower State makes it an easy launch point or final stop depending on your evening trajectory. Grab a drink, people-watch, drift between breweries and wine spots, repeat as necessary.
