    Pork belly sandwich. Yuuuuummmm!
    Shawn B.

This is my second time back and I ordered the recommended pork belly sandwich again cause it was so delicious and the service along with the espresso while waiting is definitely worth writing another report. The restaurant inside is very beautiful and a lot of Culture along with tasty treats for the holidays as gifts.

Delicious hot sandwiches- we ordered the pork belly and serving was big. It can be shared . Eva is so nice and attentive . My son said Isaac beer was good. They also have a store where you can buy Italian grocery food items. We were seated in the patio area and it was a beautiful day to be out. They offer outdoor heating if needed. Definitely will come back next time when I am in the area .

    Sandwich

Really appreciated them making my sandwich to go when this is a sit down place. The sandwich was pretty solid.

My boyfriend had the best homemade lasagna here he loved it. My veggie sandwich was too salty. The salad was fresh. There's not enough vegan options for me. It was a one woman show. Our waitress was amazing and so sweet. She was handling 6 tables by herself.

Great food, vine and beer. We had marinated olives (olive Della casa) mare chiaro pizza, eggplant (parm affair), chicken sandwich (testa di rapa), lasagneta Ferraris. Vine was Nero d'Avola. Everything was exquisite. Service is like you are only customer. Very personal.

    Hi Maria Porchetta Panini

I love the food!! So tasty I'll def come back again. The outdoor patio has a casual vibe, and it's lovely to hear ppl's chats abt how much they enjoyed this place. The server was also super sweet! She even gave me a piece of free chocolate cookie afterwards

The Boca Rossa was so sub par and I've had many good ones before.

This mediocre sandwich was $19...the lady was super rude too. Skip this place it isn't worth it.

    Hi! Maria porchetta

Ooohhhh the sandwiches are mouthwatering delicious. My mouth is salivating just as I write and think about those sandwiches. Located on Victoria, a mini escape to Italy where you can take some supplies home and eat lunch and have a cocktail or coffee or both. The hi Maria porchetta has tender pork belly with each bite never missing a beat of flavor. They have a variety of artisanal Italian beers to choose from as well as cocktails. The appetizers are generous portion. The ollieve de la casa is basically olives with garlic that you can spread on toasted bread. I recommend adding the spicy oil. Overall the ambiance is nice- outside seating mainly, and the service is friendly. Just be patient as usually it is only one person taking the orders and bringing the food to the table.

10/10 recommend Service is always incredible and the food is great!! I always get a focaccia sandwich and a sweet treat As close to Italy as you can get in SB

    Betto salad

Reminded me of home. We shared the Capocollo sandwich and the Betto salad. It was true and authentic and the flavours were *chefs kiss!* Service was absolutely amazing and the setting was quiet, cute and secluded but close. We will be going back.

    Menu

Absolutely deeeeeeeelish. I went during a lunch rush and opted for takeout and while I was sitting waiting for my food the woman working reminded me of an auntie or something the way she fussed over my standing and demanded I take a seat and relax while I waited (I was waiting against the wall). It made me chuckle. I got a sandwich and those crispy potatoes. The sandwich was next level. So fresh and delicious and clean and to the point! The potatoes were okay, honestly it was my mistake getting crispy potato's to go and letting them sit in the container to get a little soft on the drive home. They are definitely made to be eaten there as soon as they come out of the kitchen but truly the sandwich was so great. I wanted to go again before I left town and didn't have time but would seriously consider the 4 hour drive back to SB just to get one and have a quick overnight trip.

Hi, Maria! Porchetta. Yes, that is its name
    Jenn W.

Two visits here and my review hasn't changed. I'd definitely come back for no frills Italian food and you can enjoy it on the patio while watching the world go by. Location: On State Street that had pedestrian only traffic allowed. Parking are in nearby streets or parking lots located behind the buildings (first 75 inutes are free). Food: The Valtellina was a bit on the salty side, but tasty and filling. The arancini is pork meat surround by potato, shaped into a cone and fried. Iliked this one and wish I had gotten more than 2. The Hi! Maria Porchetta sandwhich was porky, fatty and oh-so delicious. Definitely one to get again. Summary: This is a low key cafe like place located in a patio-like setting on State Street. Although the same owners as the other Olio's located around it, this one is casual and not pretentious. The food here is awesome and the store inside is like stepping into an Italian local market store in a small town in Italy. You can get your food to go or you can sit and eat in the patio right in front of the shop. Been here twice and can't agree with the 1 star review. Service was attentive, polite and personable. Both times I've received excellent service. Happy eating!!

The paper had stuck to the potatoes to where it was inedible. Very unfortunate.

The way this restaurant works is that you go up to the front window, you place your order, you go and sit down, and the order is brought out to you. Pretty simple. It's important to note, however, that this is a popular café. So, particularly on peak hours, you're probably going to have to wait to put in your order. That's just an FYI. In terms of seating, they have a large outdoor patio space. There's a lot of tables there, so you should have no problem getting a seat, weather permitting. This area has tarps over it, so you do have some protection from the sun. But, depending on the weather, you may or may not like sitting there. Personally, I always like to sit outside at this restaurant. They do have some interior seating. It's fairly limited, but they do have a few tables. So, if you're lucky enough, and you want to sit inside, you may be able to grab one of these tables to sit at for your meal. In terms of their food, it's basically Americana, with a little bit of a southwestern twist. Overall, it's pretty good. They also have all of the expected drinks: your coffees, your lattes, your soft drinks, and all of that kind of stuff. Overall, this is an interesting take on a café in the Santa Barbara area. If you're into a casual environment, this is a fun place to eat.

My friend's Bratwurst Sausage with Eggs, her favorite, was hearty and filling. A lot of indoor seating but we enjoyed our table outside, watching pedestrians on State St. and enjoying the beautiful scenery and architecture. We expected to wait to be seated but surprisingly it wasn't that busy. Order at counter and the food is brought to your table. As we waited, employee kindly gave us two free pastry samples, both delicious. All the baked goods I got to go I want again. Their scones are fabulous-slightly crunchy on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside. Their tea service which comes with champagne is pricey, I believe $75 per person. But interior is a perfect colorful and relaxed setting for tea. My tastebuds dream of coming back. Will be thrilled when I next indulge on their pastries and quiche.

SCORE 0 HEALTH HAZARD 10…read more This is our third time we've had issues with the staff. Today is our last time going here. There was only one person in line and 4 staff members behind the counter standing around talking to each other. Nobody greeted us or asked for our bakery order. When I said excuse me to a dirty blond girl she replied "WHAT!" and continued to joke with a co worker. When the cashier finished with their customer they walked away and even though they saw we were waiting to be helped. I looked around and saw nobody helping seated customers or us at the bakery counter. Finally, the dirty blonde ask what we need and my response was "WHAT" ?! At this point we should have left and gone to Lilac Patisserie however we proceeded to give her our order. I told another customer behind us that rudeness seems to be the norm, and she agreed. I paid for our bakery items and asked an older woman scrolling on her phone if we could have a bag for all of our boxed treats. She grabbed a handful of bags and threw them at me from across the counter. We were appalled and left. We found a place to sit on State street to eat our treats and my daughter said she didn't want her Meringue because the dirty blonde girl used the back of her ungloved hand to repeatedly wipe her nose. We threw all $50 worth of baked goods in the trash. Yes, I should have gone back and complained I'm had everything refunded but it was Mother's Day and we didn't want anything more to do with this establishment. It was also an epiphany that they don't treat everyone this way. It could be you next time. Please go somewhere else. We will never go to anywhere but Lilac Patisserie which is to the left as you exit Andersons, past the stop light. You will definitely get your money's worth and the staff is friendly, professional, and greet you immediately as you reach the counter.

Because the two inside lines weren't visible from the outside the wait was longer than expected which made it extra disappointing when I found out they didn't have the soup on the menu or any soup. I got the taco salad and was handed a very ordinary ice tea in a plastic disposable 10oz cup that was mostly ice, there would be no refills and I regrettably pre tipped. Pretty expensive but I don't mind if the food is good. I was given a number and told to go find a seat. Because they use every square inch for seating they had some uncovered seats that were in the hot sun, these were the only ones open so I sat in the hot sun with no shade. About a twenty minute wait for my taco salad. I wouldn't normally write a review over a taco salad but this one was so bad and so overpriced I thought it deserved one. It was basically a grocery store salad mix with a scoop of ground beef and a quarter of an avocado on top in a greasy flour tortilla bowl. I couldn't tell if the beef was good or not because it was drowned in what tasted like a sweet thousand island dressing. The setting is beautiful and the staff is friendly and competent but the taco salad is terrible and expensive.

My friend who is a doctor in Santa Barbara and highly regarded and his wife made a reservation for us with my 7 pound dog because this establishment is dog friendly. I want it to be known that we are retired. We are not rabble-rousers. But from beginning to end the service and the food and everything was so poor including management that I had to write this review. But I wanted to put it in context so you would understand the situation. This is a beach restaurant and very popular. They were waiting lines to get in. And because it's so dog friendly, there are a lot of dogs there. I don't have any problem with the dogs who were there even though some of them were not well-behaved. My problem is with the management, the service, and the food. I would also like to mention that the bathrooms are public. So you can imagine the condition they are in by dinner time. Now maybe the restaurant does not control this as it is located on a public beach. But be forewarned. This is how I started my evening in a filthy bathroom. When we sat down, we ordered $100 bottle of wine called Austin Hope. It's a Cabernet Sauvignon that is particularly tasteful. When the waiter brought the bottle, it was the wrong one. Now when you order a 15 or $20 bottle of wine, I can see how you might make a mistake because there's probably so many of them. But when you order $100 bottle of wine, you expect someone to pay attention. We pointed it out to the waiter, and he returned with the correct bottle of wine. I ordered the cioppino and my companions ordered the short rib and the other one ordered a salad. I would say it was easily 150 $200 worth of food. When my Ciappino arrived, the waiter presented it with a napkin as if it were hot, but it was stone cold. I don't mean warm I mean cold. How could he make that mistake when he was picking it up with a cloth? My other companion's food was fine so I asked them to please eat. Finally, my food arrived, and when it did, I mistakenly thought they had microwaved the food to reheat it because it was so much hotter than the plate that I had before. I complained, and then I changed my mind after I tasted the seafood because it appeared to be fresh and not reheated. I apologized for my mistake and we continued our meal. Now the bottle of wine that we ordered was 1000 mL bottle of wine, which is unusually large. So it took us a minute to get through it. By the time we finished our bottle, we were just having pleasant conversation and beginning to wrap things up. The manager came over and asked us to leave as we had spent too much time at the table. When we showed our displeasure, he then backtracked and said oh that's not what I said you were mistaken. But everyone at the table heard him ask us to leave. Now I don't know about the average beach goer, but I bet they're not dropping $400 when they come in for a meal. But even if they all are, that's not the point. From beginning to end our service was horrible. The food was horrible. That management was horrible and I will never go back there again and I urge you not to go there again.

If you're looking for a spot this summer with all the vibes, killer margaritas, and delicious food,…read morelook no further than Santo Mezcal in Santa Barbara. My bestie (and yelp elite) Imo brought me here for a girls day after raving about it for months, and now I completely understand the hype. We grabbed seats at the bar (which is honestly the place to be, especially since this spot gets busy on the weekends). Hint hint: make a reservation or get here early. But overall the bar was the perfect place to people watch and to catch up. When it comes to service, impeccable. Despite being busy everyone was attentive and the drinks/food were well placed despite it being a full house. And can we talk about the bartenders? They were so welcoming and even let us film while they worked their magic making cocktails. Watching them crank out cocktails with so much flair was half the entertainment and they couldn't have been nicer. Service was definitely a 10/10. We enjoyed a few margaritas but my favorite was definitely the Hibiscus Margarita. It wasn't overly sweet and was just refreshing. I also had the tamarind Marg which was good too. Extensive cocktail menu and mezcal if you like it. The food absolutely lived up to the drinks. Santo Mezcal takes classic Mexican flavors and gives them a slightly elevated twist while still keeping everything comforting and approachable. My friend couldn't stop talking about her Pork Belly Tacos and I fell in love with the Shrimp Enchiladas. They were loaded with fresh shrimp and covered in the most incredible creamy chipotle sauce (same as their sister restaurant Los agaves for reference). Definitely one of my favorite enchiladas around, 10/10 also. One thing I wasn't expecting is that their chips and salsa might be some of the best I've had. The tortilla chips were fresh, warm, perfectly salted, and paired with a salsa so good I probably ate two bowls before our food even arrived. Honestly, you could sit at the bar with a basket of chips, salsa, and margaritas for hours and be completely happy. Make sure you don't pass up on the chips and salsa. As noted, this is a more elevated Mexican restaurant so prices are slightly more $$$ but you get what you pay for. Just worth noting because if you equate good Mexican food being $2 tacos and a bucket of beer, this spot won't do it for you. But if you want something for more of a special occasion where the food, vibes and service are A+ then this spot is for you.
