We stayed here for a weekend so we had breakfast / brunch here in the mornings. This restaurant is very cozy and comfy. Except a bit of toddler crying here and now since this is a family restaurant especially in the mornings. For breakfast we have tried local fruit plate, breakfast plate and shakshuka. Also sides of fruits and smoke salmon. The food was delicious in healthy portions. The service was fantastic and very welcoming. Updated review time. This restaurant truly has my heart as many times as I've been here since the day they opened. I love that they always reinvent the menu and the best part is their rooftop events. You can find the events on their website. From happy hour to brunch or lunch the food here will not disappoint. I especially enjoy their deviled eggs. Simple but delicious and I love that they're pink from being pickled. For cocktails I'm always down with O.P.P. a prickly pear hibiscus cocktail that hits every time. My latest visit brought me in for the Chef's Table Crawfish boil. This took stage on the rooftop of the Canary Hotel. Chef John Vasquez and team really outdid themselves by making this a memorable experience! We sat communal style and they rolled out the Louisiana style crawfish on the table. They were a beautiful reddish orange color and tasted just like the sea. It also came with potatoes, corn, artichoke, sausage and clarified butter for dipping. I do wish it was a little more seasoned, but I don't know if that's possible with the shell on. Nonetheless it still was delicious! The last time my friend and I were at Finch & Fork was 2016. Fast forward to 2026, we did not realize it was attached to the Kimpton Canary Hotel that we were staying at this trip. Totally redecorated, totally different feel than when we were there in 2016. So our last night in Santa Barbara we decided to take advantage of their kick-ass Happy Hour. We sat at the bar right at 4:00, Kayla was our bar tender for the evening. We indulged in HH Martinis, Beer and Sparking Wine. We took advantage of the HH $1.00 Oysters and each had a HH 50% off Smash Burger. Great presentation, the Oysters were very fresh and shucked clean. The burgers were amazing. We ordered and consumed a lot in the 4-5:00PM HH period and I will say shortly after 4:00 the place was filled. LOL, Needless to say, we never made it out for dinner and it was well worth it. First, I want to say how elegant the hotel & restaurant are. There's a rooftop access where the pool is, and you can see gorgeous views of Santa Barbara. The staff here are incredibly kind, and quick to assist with what you need. As we were a large party, the staff was very patient and made sure everyone was situated. OKAY THE FOOD: * We had a preset menu, but everything was pretty tasty! * Tuna Poke: This was very delish - I loved that it was already portioned nicely and was the perfect appetizer. * Caesar Salad: The salad was quite yummy! Visited Finch & Fork with my girlfriend. We had a lovely breakfast. Service was attentive and friendly. Our food was delicious. I'm normally not a yogurt person, but I really enjoyed theirs. I'm pretty sure the granola was homemade or at the very least sourced from a whole food brand. The baked pears added the perfect amount of sweetness. Pancakes and Avocado toast were also delicious. Came here for breakfast even though we weren't staying there. Had a few lattes to start and then had their shakshuka and their benedict. The shakshuka was perfect for dipping without making you too full and the Benedict jam was slightly charred in a delicious way and the sauce was sweet and tasty. Service was super fast and friendly! Tried a bunch of their food and loved the variety. Short rib pappardelle was great - meat was super tender, but sauce was a bit salty. Mac and cheese was really tasty and had a nice chew, but a bit spicy for the kids. Steak wasn't super tender but the flavor was good. Broccolini was a bit tough in the stems but otherwise had good flavor. The beets and burrata were great. Branzino was really good as well, very tender and paired nicely with the kale chips. Finally, the banana smoothie was really good - cool, smooth, and and a nice blend of banana, cinnamon, and graham flavor. Took my mom here for Mother's Day brunch after seeing generally positive reviews online. Unfortunately, the experience did not live up to the price point at all. First, Finch & Fork is essentially just the restaurant inside the Kimpton Canary Hotel. What I mean is that it's not a restaurant that happens to be inside of hotel property (think Caruso's). It's just where you eat as a hotel guest that is hungry for brunch. We had an 11:00 AM reservation, which I believe was the earliest brunch seating. The hotel lobby was packed and chaotic when we arrived. We checked in and sat down to wait, but while we were waiting, multiple other parties of two who checked in after us were seated first. Not a huge issue on its own, but not a great start. The Mother's Day brunch itself consisted of a buffet plus an entrée selection. The buffet had three main sections: seafood (oysters, shrimp, tuna poke), salads, and miscellaneous bites and desserts like deviled eggs, Italian wedding soup, and macarons. Honestly, the buffet felt more like cocktail hour appetizers at a wedding than a true luxury brunch spread. The entrées were fine. The service was fine. Nothing was bad, but nothing felt memorable or special either. The atmosphere was also extremely loud...noticeably so. What really dropped the rating for me was the value. For two people with no alcohol (just iced tea), the total came out to $264.60. That price was honestly shocking for what was offered. Nothing about the food, service, or atmosphere justified that kind of cost. As we were leaving, we noticed a Photo Booth setup and a bouquet-making station across the lobby. No one had mentioned either of these to us, and the bouquet station appeared unattended, so we weren't even sure whether it was included or an extra charge. Overall, I left feeling disappointed, especially because this was meant to be a special Mother's Day outing for my mom. If you're just looking for a casual hotel brunch/lunch/dinner, it's perfectly fine. But for a holiday brunch at this price point, I expected something much more polished, elevated, and memorable. read more

My friends and I came to Finch & Fork for their 'Bubbles & Brunch' experience. The entrance to this spot is through the Kimpton Canary Hotel and is not difficult to locate. Surprisingly enough, we had no wait on a Saturday during optimal brunch time. DRINK/FOOD: Bottomless Mimosas - They were HUGE. They came with three juice options: orange, cranberry, and/or grapefruit. In my opinion, the grapefruit juice pairing was the best. You can get buzzed pretty fast off of these. Shashuka (3.5/5) - It was my first time having shashuka, and I think this spot provided a decent overall introduction to the dish. The pinsa bread was delicious, but the default amount you receive is definitely not enough. I found myself eating the tomato sauce by itself, and it felt as if I was just eating spoonfuls of fancy spaghetti sauce. (Could've gotten extra pinsa for $3... but nah.) Breakfast Burrito - My friend had this and stated that it was subpar. Its components did not consist of anything to provide crispy, structural textures, so overall, it felt like she was eating breakfast mush. SERVICE: The service was phenomenal here. Everyone was super attentive, so our waters and mimosas were always refilled super quickly. They also do check up on you quite frequently, but I think that's mainly because we opted for bottomless mimosas. TLDR// I would say this place is better known for its booze and not its bites. The food is on the pricier end as well but they have healthy portions. The yogurt bowl wasn't overly sweet and I loved all the toppings on it. The avocado toast was huge! They definitely didn't skimp on toppings and the smoked salmon was perfect. Not fishy or too smoky/salty. For dinner we got the mushroom noodles and the confit fried chicken. The noodles were very savory and rich but didn't feel too heavy. We started our brunch with the F&F Deviled eggs. You can order it by two or four. We opted for the 4 since it was three of us. The deviled eggs had pork belly in it. I thought it taste more on the vinegary side but it was good. It was burst with different flavors profile. For my entrée, I decided to order the F&F Eggs Benedict. The Eggs Benedict was okay. I did like the English muffin and the smashed potatoes but the benedict itself was nothing special. I thought everything we ate was very typical and nothing really something I would come back for. I think the chef cooked well, I think they need a new revamp brunch menu to have better options. The service was good. We celebrated our anniversary at Fork & Finch, and it was an amazing experience. We started with happy hour with $1 oysters, where Kayla made outstanding martinis that were perfectly crafted and a great way to kick off the evening. The manager, Sabeed, warmly welcomed us, took the time to chat with us, and gave us excellent recommendations. We also had the pleasure of being taken care of by Brett and John, who were both attentive, friendly, and helped make our dinner feel even more special. I recently had the pleasure of eating at Finch and Fork and what a treat it was. If you're not staying at the hotel, but looking for an excellent breakfast or brunch location it's very convenient as there is hotel parking. We were unable to park at the hotel lot due to the farmers market, but I think in general it would be a great place if you didn't want to worry about parking. We were delighted to enjoy bottomless mimosas for $28 to augment our brunch. The service was very attentive and all the staff were very friendly. The food came very quickly. As we were there for brunch, we ordered breakfast burritos and I tried the brace beef short ribs over sweet potato hash. Everything was very good and the ingredients were fresh and tasty. I don't know that I would have the short ribs for breakfast again. it seemed more like a lunch or dinner item with eggs . However, it was as described in the menu and it was very good. Located inside a hotel so it's a nice atmosphere! Very attentive servers - we definitely felt cared for. The food on the other hand was just okay - not bad but also not spectacular. There was no kick / not enough acid on both the chicken Caesar salad, as well as the chicken sandwich, making everything taste the same. We had to ask for hot sauce. Jalapeños or something pickley might have really helped here. Also, they don't have breakfast all day, so be mindful of that when you look through yelp pictures and go during lunch. We went for the French toast, but realized that they weren't serving it anymore so were super bummed (in hindsight we shouldn't have assumed they had brunch food all day). Wandered into Finch and Fork, what a welcome discovery! The five of us enjoyed our dishes including the branzino and king salmon. We could tell a lot of artistry and care went into them. My only suggestion would be for the chef to include a more tangible helping of ingredients on each plate. The main offerings were great, but the accompanying elements listed for each dish turned out to be more whispery and garnish-like than expected. Maybe the intent is to drive customers toward ordering side dishes, but still, a slightly more fleshed-out main dish would be appreciated. The decor was modern, elegant and relaxed. We have had dinner at Finch & Fork a few times, and it was always great, but this time we had brunch on a saturday morning. We shared the Smashed Avocado Toast, their Vanilla Bean & Chia Seed Yogurt, with a scrambled egg on the side. Avocado toast is a staple on brunch menus these days, but this is very special; fresh with lots of flavor. The yogurt is practically a meal in itself with tons of fresh fruit and he delicious addition of chia seeds which makes its own smooth pudding. Service was excellent, and the location is dynamite, right in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara, and on Saturday morning the home of one of the best farmers' markets we've experienced. read more

We tried various plates: short rib and sweet potato hash, eggs benedict, french toast, and the shakshuka. She and I agreed that all of the plates were anywhere from a 2 to 3 (out of 5). I would say you can opt out of the short rib and sweet potato hash and the shakshuka altogether. Service was great though! I was really wanting an elevated meal so when I saw a server in a really chic uniform/apron I asked where she was coming from, and I am so glad I did. My only regret was not having a large enough stomach or a friend to share more food with. I started with the hamachi crudo and when I say I almost picked up the bowl to drink the juice I am not joking. I asked for a spoon and demolished what was left. The service was excellent, and since it wasn't busy, the ambiance felt relaxing and peaceful--perfect for a nice meal without distractions. We started with the deviled eggs, which our server highly recommended, and they did not disappoint--well-balanced and delicious. For my main course, I chose the catch of the day, while my husband opted for a steak. I found the steak a bit tough, but my husband thoroughly enjoyed it. We also shared a chocolate dessert and coffee to finish off our meal. One small downside was that the server didn't offer sugar with my coffee. I prefer a bit of sweetness, even after dessert. We tried Finch & Fork a number of times for in room dining while staying at the Kimpton Canary hotel. 1) Fried chicken dinner - the crust on the chicken was VERY crunchy, but for me the chicken was a little over salted. The mash potatoes and broccolini paired very well with the chicken. 2) Short rib & sweet potato hash - loved this. I loved it so much I tried to order it again on a weekday but it wasn't available. The short ribs were nice cubes and not shredded. The brussel sprouts and sweet potatoes were cooked evenly, and everything was coated in a nice sauce. The only thing missing was a side of toast for me to sop it up with. 3) French toast - we had this with a side of bacon, sausage, and egg. Everything came separately wrapped and cooked just as we asked. 4) Eggs benedict - eggs were poached well, and the English muffin was buttered and toasted (or grilled?). I enjoyed my brunch at Finch & Fork. One of the reasons why I chose this place was for their rooftop dining. When I made reservations on OpenTable, I was confused at the seating options. I tried calling, but no one picked up and frankly my friend and I wanted to try this place anyway. The rooftop dining was only during the height of the pandemic. The dining room is now only by the lobby. The decor is nice. Definitely shows that it's a hotel restaurant. But service was very nice and we got our food quickly. I got the shakshuka, and it was yummy. The eggs were nicely poached - the yolk was runny and added a richness to the spicy tomato sauce. I like the chucks of avocado. The bread with the tomato sauce, egg yolk, and avocado was the perfect bite. Many patrons took advantage of their bottomless mimosa deal, and I think that's the biggest draw. I ordered coffee and that was nice on a cool Fiesta morning. I think this is a nice place to dine if you're staring at the hotel. Otherwise, as someone who frequents Santa Barbara, I might not go out of my way to dine here. The menu has mostly a standard brunch fare. And maybe there's standout dishes their dinner menu. There is a parking structure close by with others not that far which is nice so you don't feel obligated to do their valet. We went early in the AM for breakfast so there was hardly any one there. We like enjoy it when it's nice and quiet especially since we have a toddler. The waiter who attended us was very nice and helpful. He greeted us and walked us to our table right away. Went here recently with my family to celebrate my mother's birthday because we have been multiple times before and she expressed this was one of her favorite restaurants in Santa Barbara. Specifically the Brussels Sprouts! Sadly, the Brussels sprouts were no longer on the menu as they were our favorite dish, gone. Even the waiter agreed and was unsure why they removed them from the menu. However, that truly did not ruin our experience at all. We ordered quite a bit of things and enjoyed the night because everything was good! We ordered the deviled eggs, which were small and nothing too crazy, but a good option to share for the table! We also ordered the kung pao cauliflower. Now this dish, took us all by complete surprise and quite honestly, stole the show for the whole night. We legit ended up ordering 3 in total because of how good these were. The sauce, the crunch on the cauliflower, the little spice backed by sweet, this was some bomb cauliflower. Would ABSOLUTELY come back just for this dish truly. We all would! The Tomato Veloute, Pork Chop, Short Rib Pappardelle, Scallops and Catch of the Day were all very tasty and good options! Oysters are amazing. A great amount of liquor in them! My only suggestion would definitely be the broccolini. We each took 1-2 bites, just not good. It barely had any flavor and almost tasted like it was undercooked. Would not recommend it, but definitely does not overshadow the rest of the phenomenal dishes.
