We love Paloma for a date night! Also love it during the holidays when it's decorated to the max! Food is always interesting and tasty and service is always friendly and feels elevated in a relaxed way. I will say that we're both so sad they changed the wagu tri tip sauce from a bearnaise to a chimichurri! Please bring the bearnaise back or as an option, it was our absolute favorite! read more

The skillet cornbread was probably my favorite item, but the kids loved their grilled cheese and kids' pasta dishes. The house made pickles aren't in fact pickles, but pickled veggies (carrot, onion, green beans, cauliflower, garlic cloves). Pulled pork arancini were a big hit with my son. Caesar salad with pulled chicken was good and sizable, too. Enough for 3+ to share if ordering as a starter. The Paloma salad with optional wagyu tri tip add on was tasty and also enough to share. Mocktails were enjoyed by the kids. Service was so/so. We weren't told about items they'd run out of UNTIL we'd ordered them. Water refills were slow, but we were pressed to order our entrees immediately with the starters, which was bothersome. In the end, it turned out kids eat free on Sunday nights, so a few of those got comped, and left us feeling happy with the experience. read more

EatswithEddie is in Santa Barbara for the weekend. Started off the night @lapalomasb. Place was packed due to the FIFA soccer matches but I was able to get a seat at the bar next to the tv and our waiter was superb. I tried the Paloma and it was amazing. For food I tried the local big eye tuna ceviche which was different was good but the killer was the pulled pork arancini so good and amazing lastly I tired the margarita passion with mezcal. This spot is great but you need to make reservations if not the bar is ok but it gets a little loud. I give this place a 4/5 #foodie #eats #eddie #santabárbara #review read more

Came here for brunch to celebrate a birthday. Very charming outdoor/indoor restaurant with friendly service. We started off with cocktails. It's 15 for a drink but 54 dollars for a pitcher. We ended up getting the Agua Chile Margarita pitcher. It was on the spicy side which we enjoyed. As for entrees we had the BBQ Bacon Burger and the Breakfast Sando. Both were tremendously tasty! Each comes with three potatoes that are crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. All in all was solid, tasty, and a cute little location! Would recommend for family brunch, brunch with your girlfriends, or a date brunch. Can't comment on parking as we walked there. read more

Came here for brunch with my friends and we loved it! Cute little corner spot a block off State Street. The restaurant wasn't open yet, so we sat at the bar for happy hour. I had a Paloma cocktail, which was excellent. It had a slice of dried fruit in it, which I always eat, and you could tell this was freshly dried and delicious. Paloma is one of my go to's, and I really enjoyed it. Hubs and I shared a happy hour burger, and it came with a great side of pickled veggies. I almost wanted to order more pickled veggies, they were that delicious. The burger was great mid afternoon sustenance - and as is typical for me when food arrives, I didn't get a pic! read more

We were looking for a brunch/lunch place that was a bit off the main drag and spotted the Paloma sign and decided to give it a go. The outside patio with all its greenery and flowers creates a very charming environment. Given the name of the restaurant, we expected to see Mexican food on the menu. However, the only items that came close were the margaritas and chilaquiles. Ok, so that was my order, and my husband ordered the breakfast sandwich. Everything was fine until our food came out. Our plates were set down, and the food runner quickly departed without checking if we needed extra condiments or anything. Then we both saw a long dark hair on the breakfast sandwich, but didn't get a chance to tell the food runner because she was long gone. So our next move was to track down our server. It took awhile, but we eventually got his attention. When we showed him the problem, he was extremely apologetic and said he would take care of it right away. And he did. About 10 minutes later, he brought out a fresh sandwich. Overall, the drinks and food were good, but the initial presentation of the breakfast sandwich was bad and got us off to a rough start and that is why I can only give 3 stars. read more

Delicious food, friendly and quick service, and cute vibes. Walked in on a Saturday morning and there was plenty of seating. The traditional egg breakfast was perfect with a delicious green salsa! The chilaquiles were also flavorful with deliciously cooked steak. Totally recommend checking out! read more

Paloma was beautiful and a really great experience. We ran a lil late and were happy that they were still able to seat us. The steak and potatoes that we ordered knocked it out of the park. If I wasn't so full from the day I could've eaten it all but my husband ended up eating mine lol. The only thing we did not enjoy was the Mac n cheese. It was very watery and had absolutely no flavor. We had to ask for salt and pepper to add a lil something to it. read more

The server was incredible, and the only thing that kept us from leaving without paying because holy shit. This has easily been the worst dining experience I've ever had. Took a hour to get the food after we ordered and got put into a dark corner with no ac. Hated it but that's just my opinion read more

This has to be one of the cutest brunch spots I've been too!! It was decked out in Christmas decor. Our server was so nice and attentive to us. The food here was also delicious. Came for brunch and ordered some coffee and blueberry pancakes. The pancakes are special because they're sourdough pancakes! They're also the easily the biggest pancakes I've ever been served. The sourdough gives them a slight tang that works really well with the sweet blueberries. The blueberries are spread throughout so every bite has good flavor. Overall, they're delicious and definitely worth ordering read more

I really wish Paloma had more vegetarian options. There were no veggie options under "mains" but I thought I'd be good to go with a few appetizers. After we had been seated and received our drinks, we were informed they were out of several dishes, including the two vegetarian appetizers I had been eyeing. Our server told me I really had no options but one salad, which was good, but I left a pricey dinner still hungry and a little disappointed. read more

Loved sitting outdoors and the food was excellent! We had the pulled pork arancini, cauliflower, Caesar salad and the half chicken! Loved the appetizers but the chicken left a bit to be desired. I hoped the skin would be crispy but overall the meal was great! Would get the appetizers again! read more

This is the perfect brunch spot! The sunlit patio seating is adorned with lush plants, vines, and flowers, creating an effortlessly beautiful, clean garden vibe. The brunch menu is full of seemingly simple menu items that are executed perfectly and balanced with fresh ingredient and flavors that form lasting impressions on this restaurant. I still think about the unexpectedly large crispy potatoes and the burrata, basil, aioli, and prosciutto inside my ham and cheese sando. This is the perfect patio breakfast on a warm day. I paired it with the mangonada which I would've loved more if it wasn't carbonated but that's just a me thing. One menu item I didn't get that I wanted to because they smelled so good is the sourdough apple cinnamon pancakes. My sister seemed to love them though and they looked pretty big. The staff were very attentive, sweet, and bubbly too. Our server even managed to get us coconut sorbet for my sister's birthday which was not only incredibly nice but perfect since it was dairy-free. Coincidental or not, it was the perfect ending to a birthday brunch. read more

I really wanted to love Paloma but the food was more miss than hit. The entrees were not balanced, much too heavy on the proteins. Cornbread was my favorite thing on the menu followed the by grilled broccolini. The chicken was super moist with the crispiest skin. Sadly, the halibut was over cooked. Tri tip was cooked as ordered and I enjoy the crispy potatoes, could've used more sauce. Tuna ceviche tasted fishy. For the price point, I really expected better. read more

I came to La Paloma for dinner on a girls trip, and I had a great experience. I think the food and drinks definitely could've had more flavor, but overall, the service and presentation was all fantastic, and I love how the menu is all seasonal. Since it was my birthday, the server asked if we wanted a complimentary Palomita, which was a smaller Paloma I guess? Tasted strong but was still good overall, but when the check came, we saw we were charged $1 each for the drink. The price was no issue since it was $1 each but felt a little misled. And when it came to entrees, I ordered the Lomo Saltado, but our server misheard me and they gave me the avocado tostada, which really shocked me when they put down just 1 tostada with avocado spread on it, especially since I was expecting Lomo Saltado. The server apologized a lot, and I also felt bad for the inconvenience, especially since he had been so personable throughout our dinner. It was just unfortunate that when my entree did come out, it was really salty so I was to able to eat too much. We also ordered a pitcher of the Bird of Paradise Margaritas, which wasn't as sweet or flavorful as I'd hoped. I feel bad listing out so many complaints, but there were just so many missed opportunities. I will say, the ceviche and cauliflower we had were very delicious. The fresh greens and diced peach paired so well with the ceviche! read more

This place always had people outside and enjoying themselves and I was lucky a friend invited me to a morning brunch fundraiser. We all enjoyed our food and drinks. The ingredients were great quality. Plus, honestly, the wait staff were so on it and really kind. I'm not used to such nice service nowadays. The table all recommended the chilaquiles. The breakfast Sando was yum and the potatoes were smashed to perfection. Yet, the special raspberry coffee cake was my fav. We loved Linda and had a great time! Delicious food, especially the tuna crudo and wagyu frites. 5 stars and will be coming back!

Such a cute spot with really nice staff. I loved the ambiance. I ordered the basic breakfast, eggs and bacon with sourdough toast. Everything, including the toast, was visibly greasy. The toast wasn't just buttered, it was saturated all the way through with some type of oil. The plate looked beautiful and the ingredients seemed to be high quality, but it was hard to eat this breakfast when every bite of bacon, egg or toast was so greasy. It was a weird experience to have with a breakfast that I have eaten in establishments high and low across the country. read more

came here for mother's day brunch. nice little place in the middle of downtown santa barbara. we had outdoor seating to accommodate our little dog. the service was great. the food options were minimal but still offered a good variety. the only issue we had was the bacon was on the fatty side and not cooked crispy enough. but we know to ask for it the way we preferred. next time. overall a great experience read more

The food had delicious sauces. There was a very small selection of food, so it was pretty easy to decide. The carnitas were delicious, and specifically, the beans on the tri-tip dish were awesome (but so was the meat, even if it was slightly chewy). Pretty expensive (& small serving sizes so we had to order a lot) and took over an hour for even just the appetizers to arrive (altho I'll give it to them that it was UCSB's grad week and they said they were much busier than usual). Also, the hospitality was minutely off in some ways. We reserved a table but they accidentally double-booked (although they found another table within 5 mins). Also, I would ask questions to the hostess and she would be like well you have to wait for your waiter to answer that, and I totally understand she's not expected to help with order questions but I've found many restaurants around town to have more of a hustle vibe to them, where even if the hostess or whoever doesn't have the answer, they'll take it to themselves to figure it out (e.g., ask the server for you). Not a big deal, just something I noticed. Overall, I recommend this place for their nice sauce and tasty specialty Mexican/American fusion, as long as you're ok w/ high prices, small serving sizes, and (perhaps) somewhat long waits! Definitely a fancy "special-occasions" ambiance with real candle light and flowers. We were seated outside and it wasn't cold even past night (I think they switched on the heat lamps) although being indoors is probably better for a late dinner read more

Who would have thought that mid week at 5:00pm the place would be booked out; they did have room in their bar area in which they serve their regular menu as well. Water, cocktails all around. We started with some guacamole, salsa & chips - tasty. The main was the jalapeño Cesar salad & the snake river farm wagyu tri- tip, both were well done & delicious. Service was good, did feel that the wait staff kept swapping out - have no clue why. Ambiance, casual, love the mural in the bar. Would go back the next time we're there. read more

I came in for Easter brunch and our server absolutely crushed it. The place was super busy but he stayed calm, organized, and genuinely kind the whole time. I got a brunch salad I think it was and I was skeptical of a breakfast salad, but I'm so glad I tried it I loved it. Love their bacon too! General vibe is good! Our server, I'm pretty sure his name was Josh, anticipated what we needed before we even had to ask, kept drinks topped off, and made sure everything came out correctly despite all our modifications. It's rare to feel this taken care of during a holiday rush. Josh really made our brunch feel special instead of stressful. Will definitely be back again! I'll have to try their dinner menu too and their bar offerings. Would happily request Josh again next time! read more

My husband and I had a small wedding ceremony of 30 people at the SB Courthouse then an intimate dinner with everyone at La Paloma. We rented out the Anacapa Patio and it was truly so incredible! We planned the entire event with La Paloma's event partners, Acme Hospitality, and they made the entire process so easy and seamless. We worked with Melissa and she was so helpful! The entire ambiance was so beautiful and dreamy. All of our guests had an amazing time and are still raving about all of the food we had at dinner! Every single dish was so amazing, and we couldn't have been happier with the entire experience. If you are having a small, intimate wedding, we highly recommend La Paloma! Wonderful! The best part is the service, the staff there is super attentive, kind, enjoyable and on top of it. The food was very good, we will be going back. The desserts were decent but we thought it was not as good as the mains. The space was warm and cute and inviting. What we ordered and shared as a group of 4: Ahi Tuna Poke - Delicious, fresh and good portion Ranchero Salad - Very good! Get it Golden Hominy Cheesy Casserole - Yummy Carnitas - SO good! Tritip - the BEST in our opinion Lobster - it was fine, nothing crazy, but wouldn't order again Berry Crisp - like eating warm jam, nothing special Bread pudding - I liked it a lot but the rest of my group did not care for it Wine - Casa Madero 3V - VERY good! Fantastic brunch! La Paloma is one of a kind. We just happened to walk up on it after the farmers market downtown. We did not have a reservation, but they were happy to seat us. The service was fabulous. The food was amazing. The pancakes are to die for. I may never be able to enjoy another pancake without thinking of La Paloma's crispy edges soaked in a butter sauce. Always a bustling spot on the weekends, we finally got a chance to try it out! Seated promptly and received great service through the entire night. The chips/crackers they provide to the table are amazing! The crispy Brussels sprouts lived up to their name, and definitely recommend the pitcher to share a few drinks and help manage the cost. The entrees here are rather pricey, and relatively small portions considering all plates are a la carte and sides are optional add-ons. That being said everything was delicious! Also enjoyed a couple of surprise churros to celebrate a birthday! We all enjoyed our meal and experience overall read more

Came here for the burger week. The paloma burger was undercooked and I felt like I was murdering my burger with the amount of blood that spilt onto the plate with each bite. I like my steaks rare, but not burgers. This burger was salty from the French onions, and this has been my least fav burger from burger week. The one thing I did like was the horchata. They used oat milk and cinnamon. It was nice and simple, yet delicious. Service was also slow here, so we ended up walking to a waiter to ask for our check and pay. read more
