Came here for brunch to celebrate a birthday. Very charming outdoor/indoor restaurant with friendly service. We started off with cocktails. It's 15 for a drink but 54 dollars for a pitcher. We ended up getting the Agua Chile Margarita pitcher. It was on the spicy side which we enjoyed. As for entrees we had the BBQ Bacon Burger and the Breakfast Sando. Both were tremendously tasty! Each comes with three potatoes that are crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. All in all was solid, tasty, and a cute little location! Would recommend for family brunch, brunch with your girlfriends, or a date brunch. Can't comment on parking as we walked there. read more

Place was packed due to the FIFA soccer matches but I was able to get a seat at the bar next to the tv and our waiter was superb. I tried the Paloma and it was amazing. For food I tried the local big eye tuna ceviche which was different was good but the killer was the pulled pork arancini so good and amazing lastly I tired the margarita passion with mezcal. Paloma was beautiful and a really great experience. We ran a lil late and were happy that they were still able to seat us. The steak and potatoes that we ordered knocked it out of the park. If I wasn't so full from the day I could've eaten it all but my husband ended up eating mine lol. The only thing we did not enjoy was the Mac n cheese. Cute little corner spot a block off State Street. The restaurant wasn't open yet, so we sat at the bar for happy hour. I had a Paloma cocktail, which was excellent. It had a slice of dried fruit in it, which I always eat, and you could tell this was freshly dried and delicious. Paloma is one of my go to's, and I really enjoyed it. We came here to celebrate my wife's birthday; it was our first time and we will definitely be repeat customers. Our server Keynan was really attentive and gave great recommendations. I came to La Paloma for dinner on a girls trip, and I had a great experience. I think the food and drinks definitely could've had more flavor, but overall, the service and presentation was all fantastic, and I love how the menu is all seasonal. Since it was my birthday, the server asked if we wanted a complimentary Palomita, which was a smaller Paloma I guess? Tasted strong but was still good overall, but when the check came, we saw we were charged $1 each for the drink. The price was no issue since it was $1 each but felt a little misled. And when it came to entrees, I ordered the Lomo Saltado, but our server misheard me and they gave me the avocado tostada, which really shocked me when they put down just 1 tostada with avocado spread on it, especially since I was expecting Lomo Saltado. The server apologized a lot, and I also felt bad for the inconvenience, especially since he had been so personable throughout our dinner. It was just unfortunate that when my entree did come out, it was really salty so I was to able to eat too much. We also ordered a pitcher of the Bird of Paradise Margaritas, which wasn't as sweet or flavorful as I'd hoped. I feel bad listing out so many complaints, but there were just so many missed opportunities. I will say, the ceviche and cauliflower we had were very delicious. Fantastic brunch! La Paloma is one of a kind. We just happened to walk up on it after the farmers market downtown. We did not have a reservation, but they were happy to seat us. The service was fabulous. The food was amazing. The pancakes are to die for. I may never be able to enjoy another pancake without thinking of La Paloma's crispy edges soaked in a butter sauce. We also enjoyed the breakfast sandwich with the crispy potatoes. It was all so good and every detail was attended to. I came in for Easter brunch and our server absolutely crushed it. The place was super busy but he stayed calm, organized, and genuinely kind the whole time. I got a brunch salad I think it was and I was skeptical of a breakfast salad, but I'm so glad I tried it I loved it. Love their bacon too! General vibe is good! Our server, I'm pretty sure his name was Josh, anticipated what we needed before we even had to ask, kept drinks topped off, and made sure everything came out correctly despite all our modifications. The carnitas were delicious, and specifically, the beans on the tri-tip dish were awesome (but so was the meat, even if it was slightly chewy). Pretty expensive (& small serving sizes so we had to order a lot) and took over an hour for even just the appetizers to arrive (altho I'll give it to them that it was UCSB's grad week and they said they were much busier than usual). Also, the hospitality was minutely off in some ways. We reserved a table but they accidentally double-booked (although they found another table within 5 mins). Also, I would ask questions to the hostess and she would be like well you have to wait for your waiter to answer that, and I totally understand she's not expected to help with order questions but I've found many restaurants around town to have more of a hustle vibe to them, where even if the hostess or whoever doesn't have the answer, they'll take it to themselves to figure it out (e.g., ask the server for you). Not a big deal, just something I noticed. Overall, I recommend this place for their nice sauce and tasty specialty Mexican/American fusion, as long as you're ok w/ high prices, small serving sizes, and (perhaps) somewhat long waits! Such an amazing dining experience from start to finish! Our server, Linda, was fantastic--attentive, friendly, and made the whole meal feel effortless and enjoyable. We went all in on sharing starters, and every single one was a hit: the mushrooms, cornbread, arancini, and cauliflower were all absolutely delicious. It's hard to even pick a favorite! For mains, we continued the sharing trend with a wagyu tri-tip cooked perfectly just the way we wanted--tender, flavorful, and memorable. Such a good find!! I grew up in Santa Barbara, my Husband has lived here for 60 years. We both have never come to this restaurant before, either when it was Paradise Cafe or La Paloma, only until last month! The SB Independent was running a section on " coffee week " in Santa Barbara. We noticed La Paloma was featuring an espresso martini for their drink so we thought we would try it out. It was on Sunday, and brunch was being served. There were soooo many yummy items on the brunch menu, we asked for a 4 top, instead of the 2 top table to be able to try more dishes, ha ha ( seriously though! ) Sarah was our waitress, very attentive, nice and helpful. Of course, we ordered the espresso martini, yum! I ordered the Bird of Paradise ( passionfruit margerita ) Amazing! It was made with fresh Passionfruit juice, not too sweet, perfect! We ordered the smashed potatoes w/ hollandaise sauce, the deviled egg/avocado toast, the best chiliquilles I have ever had and the sourdough pancakes. I also ordered another passionfruit margerita. Best brunch ever! The food was high quailty, so many different flavors in each dish. We later met Chef John who created the dishes. He is a creative artist in his craft. We absolutely love, love Maxine, the manager. She was funny, personable and would keep checking on us and the other tables, doing a wonderful job making everyone feel welcomed while running the restaurant. Josh the bartender, can make some really tasty cocktails. We look forward to branching out and try more of these fantastic drinks here. The setting is a historic Santa Barbara bakery/home and bar from the 1930's with a cute bar attached to outdoor patio. There are lots of historic photos of La Paloma and a mural above the bar painted almost 100 year's ago. It's wonderful to sit inside or out. We came back several several times with friends and for birthday celebrations since finding, what is now our favorite restaurant in Santa Barbara! I made a pig of myself. The food was great. The service was great, and the outdoor seating was very comfortable. PERFECT Bloody Mary & the server brought me a small glass of the mix they use for spicing it up to my pleasure (needed spicing & I think the mix had mezcal in it). The smoked salmon/creamed cheese toast (even the toast itself was a home run) was fantastic (the didn't skip on the salmon). Finished with the Wagyu BBQ Burger. My ONLY issue of the meal was that the burger came out medium rare. I asked the server if this was on purpose, and he said "yes, with that quality of meat, we don't want to overcook it & take away from the taste". I don't care what kind of meat it is, if I like my burgers at least medium for taste & texture; I should have been asked how I wanted my $25 burger. My husband and I had a small wedding ceremony of 30 people at the SB Courthouse then an intimate dinner with everyone at La Paloma. We rented out the Anacapa Patio and it was truly so incredible! We planned the entire event with La Paloma's event partners, Acme Hospitality, and they made the entire process so easy and seamless. We worked with Melissa and she was so helpful! The entire ambiance was so beautiful and dreamy. All of our guests had an amazing time and are still raving about all of the food we had at dinner! We had arancini, cauliflower, and cornbread - all amazing. Wine -- seriously insanely pricey at 22 dollars for a Chardonnay (please give more options). UNFORTUNATELY, the LOMO SALTADO came with so few pieces of beef that we were shocked. This dish is amazing - but we had to keep hunting for the beef...It seemed like there might only be a very very small handful...when I told the server, she didn't say anything, which was really disappointing, especially because this place has a very good reputation. Even restaurants half the quality go tell the manager if something like this happens, or they tell the kitchen. When I left, I had to go eat more, because there was not enough protein in the main dish, which is 28 dollars. If you are doing to charge 22 dollars for a glass of wine, at least give me another few tablespoons of beef so Im not starving after paying 100 a person. On a positive note, the garden was great. The chips/crackers they provide to the table are amazing! The crispy Brussels sprouts lived up to their name, and definitely recommend the pitcher to share a few drinks and help manage the cost. Came here for the burger week. The paloma burger was undercooked and I felt like I was murdering my burger with the amount of blood that spilt onto the plate with each bite. I like my steaks rare, but not burgers. This burger was salty from the French onions, and this has been my least fav burger from burger week. The one thing I did like was the horchata. Lomo Saltado was hugely over salted and one of the trout dishes was still raw in the middle (not a little undercooked as it could/should be, raw). First visit for a while and no plans to return. Was in Santa Barbara for a wedding last wknd and had walked by Paloma thinking it was beautiful restaurant and we ended up having dinner there. The sun hit so well in the evening and the main reason I'm writing this review is for Ben the bartender. Daaaaamn this kid was holding it down the entire evening. I must've had six different drinks and all of them were phenomenal creations. He was just cool charismatic individual and expert in liquor. I suggest you seek him out if visiting. read more
