    omelet with mushrooms and guacamole
    Jenny T.

My friends and I came here for breakfast on a Saturday morning. We were a group of 10 people, and the restaurant was able to seat us right away when we came early. Food: I ordered the veggie omelet that had avocado on top. I was surprised that it was guacamole on top instead of sliced avocado, but I didn't mind. The omelet was still pretty good, and I enjoyed the side of potatoes as well. Service: Service was friendly and quick for our large table. The servers didn't skip a beat with our large table. Food came out promptly after ordering. TL;DR - Great breakfast spot for our large group!

We decided to try its breakfast while staying at Mar Monte for the weekend. Inside, with its casual upscale décor, was quite spacious and could easily accommodate 70+ guests. The friendly staff guided us to our table and brough water and menu right away. After browsing through their menu, we ordered the following items: Seasonal Fruits & Berries: In the plate, there were dates, fresh berries, sliced cantaloupe, pineapple, and apple. All clean and delicious. Traditional Breakfast: It was quite a hearty meal with eggs, sausages, potatoes, and toasted bread. Everything was well prepared and nicely seasoned. Crab Bennedict: The crab meat portion was generous, the poached eggs were cooked to perfection, and the toasted brioche was slightly crispy outside and soft inside. It also came with a cup of fresh fruits. Great food and reasonable prices for the location. Highly recommended.

Food is delicious! Can see how much detail and effort the chef put into the dishes. The avocado toast is tasty. The smashed avocado has some seeds mixed in which adds extra flavors and textures. I think also some lemon juice inside. The fruit and berries plate for the kids has ten diff fruits even includes permission. The classic breakfast is equally amazing with generous portion. Plus side is that outdoor patio is dog friendly and can see the sea and beach.

So it's been 4.5 years now and still a favorite SB restaurant! The menu has changed multiple times since we started coming but each time they do, we lose some favorites and discover some new ones! Currently they have a delectable Mediterranean focused menu. The Branzino was mouthwatering, seasoned & cooked to perfection. The Mezzanine Platter was perfection, the service is always warm & wonderful. The drinks are always so good, we always swear just to have one drink each and often leave with 3 drinks down each. The bartenders know what they're doing. The ambience is chic and cozy, we love our spot in the back corner. Trust me, this hidden gem is worth it, you won't be disappointed!

We stayed at this hotel so thought it easiest to eat here the morning of our departure. We're sad we didn't try it earlier. It was so good! Service was friendly. The food was fresh and fast. Coffee was left in a carafe so you could pour your own refills, it was amazing. Highly recommend this place. We were able to sit right on the water almost.

[Food//Breakfast Menu] - Classic Breakfast ($23): Comes with two eggs any style, choice of applewood-smoked bacon, pork sausage patty, or griddled chicken sausage, crispy yukon gold breakfast potatoes, herb-roasted tomato, country toast house-made. I shared this with my bf choosing scrambled eggs & applewood-smoked bacon. No complaints from me! I enjoyed every bite! I made an open faced toast with all the ingredients along with a splash of Cholula sauce. It was enough to fill both my bf and I up! [Service] - Friendly, attentive, helpful [Ambiance] - Love the interior and exterior decor/architecture! [Overall] - If I do visit Santa Barbara again I'd want to try out their dinner menu!

Had a great happy hour at Costa Kitchen & Bar, located within the Mar Monte Hotel in Santa Barbara. The grilled octopus was tender and flavorful and the pizza was a solid choice to share. Enjoyed some refreshing cocktails and cold beers while taking in a beautiful sunset view. The ambiance was laid back yet upscale making it a perfect spot to unwind by the beach. Definitely worth a visit for a relaxed evening with good food and drinks! Check out my visit @sosalicious805 https://www.instagram.com/reel/DG9f5sSJOxT/?igsh=NjZiM2M3MzIxNA==

Came here during happy hour and then got a table for dinner/appetizers. Brent was a pleasure and made a delicious margarita (or two). Our waiter Paul was a fun guy and made our visit here feel even more worthwhile. We ordered the baby lamb chops and mezza platter, and couldn't be more pleased with quality and portions. We will probably be back this week for a repeat of the same thing. Hopefully Brent and Paul, and kitchen staff will be there when we return.

A long walk along the sea front was followed by a truly spectacular supper at Costas. We were Warmly greeted by Nayeli, who was both attentive and courteous. She stopped by our table and made sure everything was to our liking, and It really was The salmon with wild rice, quinoa, and snap peas was spectacular. Highly recommend!

Great service. Inside is really cute but we sat outside for the beach front view. It was nice weather on an August Sunday. Everything we ordered was delicious. Initially came for the whole branzino but didn't see it on the menu. Got the branzino filet instead and it did not disappoint, absolutely delicious! The "best tri tip" box kept calling out to me so I had to order it. Highly recommend. Beef check pappardelle was nice and tender.

Costa Kitchen is the on-site restaurant for the Mar Monte Hotel. I'm usually not big on hotel restaurants but Costa Kitchen was quite good during our stay. We only had breakfast here but I would definitely recommend breakfast here and if you sit in patio area, you will get amazing views of the Ocean. They have a very wide selection of breakfast options and an open bar for breakfast as well. I got the Omelette with chicken apple sausage. My first impression of my meal was that everything seemed farm fresh. The potatoes were the real treat as it was well seasoned with a nice crisp texture to them. Service was very responsive and friendly. Next time we stay at the Mar Monte we will definitely be visiting Costa Kitchen for our breakfast needs.

We had breakfast at Coasta Kitchen & Bar since we stayed with the Mar Monte Hotel. Back to 2020, when we stayed here. Costa was still in the renovation. We had breakfast near the pool area. This time, they opened for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We got our balcony table. The breakfast was pretty good. I ordered Steak and Eggs ($32). The grill Prime NY steak was great, not salty and dry. The crispy potatoes were so delicious. The country toast with their homemade jam was an excellent combination. The Classic Breakfast ($22) was great, too. The pork sausage patty was so tasty and delicious. The seasonal fruit & berries ($13) were great, it has 10 different types of fruits. The service was great! Our server was very friendly and helpful. Who doesn't want a good breakfast with fresh ocean air to start a day. We really enjoyed the food and morning time at Coasta and definitely will visit again.

The cocktails are highly creative, diverse in flavor and design, and really could stand up to any you would find at a top cocktail bar in a major city. The exterior doesn't scream "must come in" but you absolutely should. Is it a tiki bar? Yes, but in the best way. And the bartender deserves applause for pulling off 3+ quite complex cocktails every 5 minutes off of memory and without any support.

In a stretch of Lower State packed with breweries, wine bars, and roaming weekend energy-drink humans in vintage bowling shirts, it threads the needle nicely between cocktail bar and tropical escape pod. The menu leans tiki-adjacent rather than deep-cut exotica, but the drinks are smartly built and avoid the "every problem can be solved with more rum" philosophy. There's a solid spread of spirits across the board, which makes the place feel more welcoming to a broader nightlife crowd instead of strictly rum disciples clutching vintage Trader Vic's mugs. The Oaxacan Dead was the standout for me. Smoky, balanced, endlessly sippable. One of those drinks where every sip quietly talks you into ordering another without turning into a sugar avalanche. The Jungle Bird was also great, though presented more in the direction of a Negroni than the punchier tropical versions you usually see. Bitter, restrained, and easy to settle into. Crowd-wise, things tilted a little frat-floaty as the night rolled on, but the staff handled everything smoothly and kept the vibe from turning into full pirate mutiny. Service stayed friendly and composed even when the volume of the room started climbing like a malfunctioning theremin. Big bonus points for the location and outdoor seating. Being right in the middle of Lower State makes it an easy launch point or final stop depending on your evening trajectory. Grab a drink, people-watch, drift between breweries and wine spots, repeat as necessary.

When we arrived on a Tuesday evening, there were about seven patrons throughout the bar and the outdoor seating area with the live music drew us in. We were told to order at the bar, so while the rest of our party was seated, I stood there for five minutes before someone took my order. Totally fine, but no sorry for the wait or even smile or any warmth from the male bartender, who disappeared for a five minute break shortly after taking my order. The tables at the outdoor seating area were very sticky and since there were no employees in sight I (and the other patrons who arrived then) cleaned the tables ourselves. After waiting 10 minutes I went up to the bar and assumed since our drinks hadn't been delivered, I was supposed to pick them up, I was told don't worry, we'll bring them to you, and after another five minutes, our drinks arrived. The cocktails were decent, nothing revolutionary but I am spoiled in this department, well made but nothing to get excited about . After 30 minutes of enjoying the genuinely nice outdoor area we ordered another round, three shots took another 10+ minutes. When we realized we had to leave to make our reservation, we asked for a box for our untouched food, and we were told we don't have boxes. They ended up finding one for For us, but it appeared to be a pastry box from somewhere else. The female bartender who took over after the male clocked out, was much more personable, but not much more efficient. To their credit, this bar has an excellent selection of tequilas and Mezcal's, so if you're not in a rush and you enjoy those spirits it's definitely worth stopping by. The music was really great and was definitely the highlight of that bar.

Pearl social is such a whimsical fun spot to grab a drink and a snack in the funk zone. We stumbled in for a late afternoon drink and it wasn't very busy inside - giving off "best kept secret vibe". The decor is very feminine yet playful. Loved the design and bar area. We opted for a casual booth area by the bar which was really nice. Also all of the little things were done well, crisp menus, clean bathrooms, and music done at just the right sound level. Their menu in the bar area for food is small but mighty - oysters, cheese plates, you name it. I'm definitely going to keep coming here for the cocktails. I've had one of the best sips in 2025 here - which would be The Mixtape cocktail. My friend told me I had to get it and I'm so glad I listen sometimes lol. This cocktail completely blew me away. The patio is next to other tasting room patios featuring wine and next door to Lark's restaurant. When we visited the tasting room at about 3pm in the afternoon, we were the only individuals there but started to fill up with other small groups. When a large group entered, the waitress said you will need a reservation as she was only wait staff there. Perhaps a sign is needed to notify people, that groups need reservations. The drinks were spot on- the drinks started at 14 dollars to about 16 dollars for cocktails. The tasting room also offers tastings of their products too. The tastings looked small. The cocktails were well poured. I was just disappointed to find out that I could not get a Bloody Mary on a Saturday- only Sundays- the Bloody Mary looked really good. We got the sauce on the side so the spice was totally manageable. But the GARLIC NOODLES!! Easily some of the best I've ever had. The vibes for this restaurant is around intimate depending where you sit but also loud and vibey if indoors. Great place to visit but make sure to make reservations for the outdoor patio on the second level for views of the ocean and the pier!
