Grilled Mahi Mahi Tacos
Natalie S.

Finney's is a great spot if you're looking for casual fare. My family and I drove up from LA and were starving by the time we got there. Finney's has a dog friendly patio, and there were quite a few dogs there. The food is more upscale bar food, but since we hadn't eaten since the night before we were starving. I didnt take a picture, but my mom loves onion rings, and these were perfectly fried with Parmesan sprinkled on top. I prefer them with ranch, but they come with a trio of dipping sauces that include ketchup and honey mustard. I ordered the Mahi mahi tacos, grilled, which were very good. The chips were better. My dad had the carnitas tacos which looked really good. And my mom ordered the chop salad because the woman next to us was eating it. If I could do it all over again, I'd order the chop salad because it was the best thing I ate for lunch that day.

Mini Lobster Rolls , Small order of Sweet Potato Fries & Tater Tots, along with a Chipotle Chicken Sandwich

Went here for dinner and the food was delicious. The lobster roll appetizers and coconut shrimp was yum! Our server was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed for our meal. We sat outside which was a bit chilly at sunset, but once the heaters were turned on , it was very cozy. Overall, a pleasant dining experience for me.

The food here never disappoints. We were seated pretty quickly for a Friday night, which was nice. It my birthday and there was no singing but I did get a nice cookie and ice cream treat with a candle to share with my husband. I tried the mixed berries mojito which was just ok. But my Impossible Taco Salad was really good and my husband enjoyed his Mahi Mahi Tacos. We have also had really good burgers here. Our server Alec was super friendly, super efficient, made sure had what we needed.

Try the Nashville Hot Ranch! 10/10 delicious. I would buy a jar of this to go if they sold it. Everything you love about Nashville Hot chicken sandwiches but dip for everything. Otherwise: Great venue right downtown. Large with lots of seating and bar access. Kid friendly with high chairs, etc. All the food was delicious: fried chicken, tacos, fries, chips, etc. Lots of beer options and flights of margaritas too (try one!). Good service, reasonable prices, great ambiance. Highly recommend for families or for grabbing a beer and watching a game. But I'll say again: the Nashville Hot Ranch I haven't seen before at any restaurant, but perhaps it will take off once the word gets out with how delicious it is here! I really hope they keep it on the menu!

Hickory BBQ Burger

This photo of the bbq burger speaks for itself. But the burger came with approximately one drop of bbq sauce topped with one sad looking onion ring. They also forgot about my food and I had to wait longer.

Margarita flight

Did not make the connection that this is the same restaurant chain as the one in Burbank oooh that is probably because I ordered a margarita flight as soon as I arrived and asked them to make it STRONG! Carnitas nachos were good and theres a lovely view too

On a busy weekend I was surprised how fast we got sat down despite there being a line. Good service and pretty good American cuisine! I loved their smashburger, it was delicious!

Great food great beer great everything will definitely come back.. too bad. I couldn't find any parking space other than parking in the residential area but otherwise it's OK.

Moroccan Salad with Chicken

Fabulous Finney's!! What can I say it never disappoints!!!! The Moroccan salad with chicken is hands down one of the best salads I've had in awhile! The bartender who greeted me also vouched for the salad too! She was very helpful and friendly in suggestions and recommendations. Yes the raspberry smashers were delicious! This is a fun and social place to dine, have drinks, watch sports and it never disappoints!

Meh - not sure how this gets so many stars. Service was wickedly slow. Food was just okay. Drinks were good, but thankfully on happy hour because otherwise very watered down for the price. Coconut shrimp was mushy- we could not eat it. The steak taquitos were very nice and we enjoyed them. The dipping sauce was SPICY- - damn spicy. I like spice but holy wow...prepare yourself. The yuzu bbq wings were our favorite and had great flavor. Overall just good, not wow not a total flop...

Hickory BBQ Burger
Sara B.

Picked this place because of the Yelp reviews and Yelp didn't disappoint. I got the BBQ burger and got sweet potato fries with it. I also tried the carnitas nachos, coconut shrimp and fried cauliflower bites. My burger was cooked perfectly medium well as I had requested. The potato fries were just as I like them, crispy on the outside yet soft on the inside. They also serve a chipotle sauce with the sweet potato fries that was a great pairing. The coconut shrimp was good too; the sauce they serviced with it was tasty! The cauliflower bites were decent for them being cauliflower which isn't my favorite veggie but them being deep fried and served with a buffalo sauce made them pretty good. The carnitas nachos were also pretty good. The service was good, food was ready pretty quickly and the inside is a bit noisy but a fun and lively place.

Order the chicken bites for my grandson they were so burned. It makes sense why the food took 2.5 hours to get served to us.

I have never waited 2 hours and a half for a meal. They forgot our order they came to apologize and told us dessert on the house. The food my grandson order was burn!! Well when it was time to order dessert the waiter Ava was nowhere to be seen. The min we walked out she came to the table to clean up. I would definitely not be coming back or recommending this place to anyone.

In a stretch of Lower State packed with breweries, wine bars, and roaming weekend energy-drink humans in vintage bowling shirts, it threads the needle nicely between cocktail bar and tropical escape pod. The menu leans tiki-adjacent rather than deep-cut exotica, but the drinks are smartly built and avoid the "every problem can be solved with more rum" philosophy. There's a solid spread of spirits across the board, which makes the place feel more welcoming to a broader nightlife crowd instead of strictly rum disciples clutching vintage Trader Vic's mugs. The Oaxacan Dead was the standout for me. Smoky, balanced, endlessly sippable. One of those drinks where every sip quietly talks you into ordering another without turning into a sugar avalanche. The Jungle Bird was also great, though presented more in the direction of a Negroni than the punchier tropical versions you usually see. Bitter, restrained, and easy to settle into. Crowd-wise, things tilted a little frat-floaty as the night rolled on, but the staff handled everything smoothly and kept the vibe from turning into full pirate mutiny. Service stayed friendly and composed even when the volume of the room started climbing like a malfunctioning theremin. Big bonus points for the location and outdoor seating. Being right in the middle of Lower State makes it an easy launch point or final stop depending on your evening trajectory. Grab a drink, people-watch, drift between breweries and wine spots, repeat as necessary.

Pearl social is such a whimsical fun spot to grab a drink and a snack in the funk zone. We stumbled in for a late afternoon drink and it wasn't very busy inside - giving off "best kept secret vibe". The decor is very feminine yet playful. Loved the design and bar area. We opted for a casual booth area by the bar which was really nice. Also all of the little things were done well, crisp menus, clean bathrooms, and music done at just the right sound level. Their menu in the bar area for food is small but mighty - oysters, cheese plates, you name it. I'm definitely going to keep coming here for the cocktails. I've had one of the best sips in 2025 here - which would be The Mixtape cocktail. My friend told me I had to get it and I'm so glad I listen sometimes lol. This cocktail completely blew me away. Passionfruit forward, it's silky, sweet yet very well balanced. One of the more unique and tasty cocktails I've had ever and honestly I'm not sure how I could come back and get anything else. 10/10 Cocktail and menu. Super impressed. Kudos to Mark who was working the bar. Such a lovely spirit and kind person. He really is passionate about his menu and the drinks he's curated. Loved talking to him as we got to know a lot more about Pearl social and how some of their drinks were concerted. Really appreciated his time and expertise. Anytime I'm in the funk zone I will 100% be stopping back by here for a cocktail and good vibes.

The patio is in the back of Cutler's that can be entered around the corner (map on the front door of Cutler's shows the directions). The patio is next to other tasting room patios featuring wine and next door to Lark's restaurant. It was early afternoon and we had apparently beat the crowd which was great for us as the place quickly filled up after about half an hour.
