Went here for a weekend getaway and made reservations for dinner. We were sat promptly on the patio with a nice view of the beach . The appetizers were good- although the crispy Asian ribs were not exactly as I expected. The clam chowder and prime rib dip sandwich was delish. The reason this still gets a 4 star is because the food was actually really good, our server, Alex, saved the day, and the view is just unbeatable! I got the chilaquiles and they were fantastic, our table got a white chocolate pancake and it was so fluffy and good. All my friends enjoyed their food (chicken and biscuits, monster burrito, chicken club sandwich etc.) Couple of hiccups; had a reservation at 11:15 and didn't get sat until 11:30, no table touching for another 10 minutes. No "be right with you", or support staff getting us started, nothing. I went ahead to the two hosts that were just standing at the iPad and asked for some waters and a server. A new server, Alex, took over our table after his break. He was the best! He got us anything we needed when the food came out, and then noticed 3 of us were drinking Diet Coke and brought out a pitcher of it for us. Unreal! LOVE the location of reunion! it's right off of the sand and there's a sweet little play structure and swings for kids on the sand (perfect for your kids while you're waiting for your food to come out). the restaurant has a great patio to enjoy the views of the water and there's ample seating inside at the bar and tables the menu has a variety of different items ranging from tacos to southern comfort food so a little bit of something for everyone. the food was overall good, but we did find that the food needed a little bit of salt (and we usually eat things with barely any salt). read more

Been here so many times. Food is consistently good. Everything we have ordered has been great. Dog friendly patio and that's the reason we used to come here so frequently with our little yorkie but even after we said goodbye to our 18 & a half year old little dog, we still come here to enjoy the view, eat a wonderful meal and reminisce when our senior pooch was with us. Today was our first time here. We came around 10:30 and there was a 30 min wait for outside. No problem! We went and sat at the cute bar inside. Billy took great care of us! Fabulous personality and he was working hard! I had the ahi bowl. I really enjoyed the flavors. I made my husband order the chicken and biscuits so I could try it. He didn't even want to share because he loved it so much! Bottomless mimosas are a plus. My husband's was never empty. We will definitely be back after our next hiking adventure in SB. Need to be eaten with a fork but enjoyed them very much. Needed a little salt but prefer putting it on to my taste rather than them over salting. The ribs and soup were fantastic. Service was friendly and prompt. My only slight negative was how loud this place was. We sat outside and it was surprisingly loud with everyone talking and having a good time. I keep trying this place because it does have some positives. But every time I have tried it with one or more people there is always some disappointment. So I cannot give this restaurant more than a three stars. First, it is a nice place to go if you want to sit by the beach. Of course, the best view is outside on the patio. Unfortunately today the only tables left were in the bright sun and their umbrellas just don't do the job. We had reservations as there were six of us. So we ended up sitting inside, the atmosphere is nice, but it is extremely noisy and loud inside when the place is busy. We actually were not able to hear each others conversation without shouting. As we were there, some tables did leave, and then it was a little more tolerable. In fact, the waitress could not even hear us when we were trying to order, she had to keep having us repeat ourselves Now for the food that we experienced. I do recommend the calamari and the jalapeño poppers. As appetizers they were quite delicious. Some of us at the table did order drinks, and the wait was quite long( she did then tell us that the bar was backed up. In fact, some of our food had come before the drinks. This has been an ongoing problem here when I have stopped at this restaurant. Unfortunately, once again, I picked a wrong item on their menu. I decided to order the seared Ahi tuna salad, as I really do like Ahi salad. The salad arrived, and it was very blasé. Nothing exciting about it. You couldn't find the roasted red peppers without really digging, and I believe I found one. It was mainly spring lettuce (not even that fresh), cucumbers, a little grated carrot, and a couple cubes of tomato. Now the Ahi tuna was really nice and a good taste to it, but I like mine with a little pizzazz. As I had asked for the sauces on the side, which did not arrive, I re-asked for the wasabi aïoli. It was brought, and it actually tasted like nothing but pure mayonnaise. So I asked for it again thinking I had gotten the wrong thing. But the next little container was nothing but mayonnaise with a hint of mint green color. I ended up essentially taking most of my salad home so that I can spice it up and make it more desirable. Most of the other people at our table, felt that their food was pretty delicious, but nothing extraordinary. I guess I will come again as it is a nice outing by the beach; a nice place meet up with someone but I think I'll stick with appetizers. read more

Great location right by the water, with a really nice setting overlooking the promenade. Parking is available in the nearby lot (paid -- around $7 for a couple of hours). The food was fresh and enjoyable overall. You can tell the fish is high quality, sourced daily from the Santa Barbara Fish Market. We ordered something from the happy hour menu, the calamari was very tasty and fresh, and the vanilla old-fashioned was excellent. We also tried the halibut sandwich, which was delicious, and the salmon with glazed salad, which tasted fresh but had a bit too much vinegar for my personal preference. Service, however, was quite slow, even though the restaurant wasn't full. I was also left waiting to be seated with my two small dogs, and another couple who arrived after me was seated first at the last table by the glass overlooking the promenade, which was a bit frustrating, especially knowing that sitting with two dogs can be tricky in the middle of a patio. Enjoyed our dinner here so much for the first time we had to come again. This time we had the wontons, chicken Cobb salad, and ribeye steak. The medium rare steak had the right mix and color. Full transparency, my fiance and I split a steak everywhere we go so we did the same here. I gave her the steak knife and started using the butter knife because I didn't want to bother the server. About 36 seconds later the manager Charles sees me and hands me a steak knife! You can't teach this. Every server we had was well trained and very attentive. We really enjoyed our dinner here. The location really can't be beat if you like being on the sand or near the ocean. I had the salmon and my son had the fish and chips. We started with calamari and also had the lemon bars for dessert. Yummy! It was a short walk from the Hilton where we are staying and that was really nice. There is a playground in the sand next door which was great for my son to let off some steam after dinner. Service was very friendly. Maybe a little slow, but we were in no hurry and they were pretty busy so no worries on that. Just settle in and enjoy the time by the beach. The patio is nicely decorated and there are some fireplace couch set up to fine which is nice. We got our requested outdoor seating which was also a bonus. Reunion is right on the beach and you have a great view. We had a large party and they were very accommodating to us, we had multiple servers and they were attentive throughout our meal. With such a large party, we actually had to meet a minimum. This meant that we tried plenty of the menu. For appetizers, we ordered the calamari, brussel sprouts, deviled eggs, miso garlic noodles. Our favorites were the calamari and brussel sprouts, while they're basic appetizers, Reunion just hit the nail on the head with these two. The others were good, but slightly bland and didn't do much for us. For my entree, I ordered the sliced steak and potato salad. This was a nicely balanced meal for me! It has both a warm potato salad and a greens salad, so you get a little bit of everything. The steak was cooked nicely, slightly overdone on the ends, but I don't mind. The portions here are generous, so I would consider that when ordering as well. For our desserts, we ordered the lemon bar brûlée, which was just a regular lemon bar with that caramelized top. Nothing too spectacular because it tastes exactly like what it sounds like. We also ordered the warm butter cake, which is a must get. It's so soft in the center and so absolutely sweet, but worth getting it to split with others. Throughout the meal, I ordered a couple drinks and I don't think you can go wrong with their cocktail menu (tequila mockingbird was my favorite). We drove up from San Diego for a family trip and wanted our first night to start with a great meal by the water. Reunion had the vibe we were looking for--but our experience was a bit of a mixed bag. The reservation process was confusing. My sister called at 5:10 PM asking for a 7 PM dinner reservation. The hostess told us that was too soon and we'd have to wait. We tried 7:30--still not good. When we asked about 8 PM, she told us 8:15 would be better. We agreed. When we arrived, the table we were given was... unfortunate: * No ocean view (completely blocked by a pillar) * Bad lighting * Right next to the back kitchen * Cold and high foot traffic I asked to move to a spot by the heaters and was told we'd have to wait. Then the hostess said that particular table was reserved--only to eventually seat us there anyway. It wasn't even that busy, so the whole situation felt unnecessary. We had our dog with us and wanted a calm spot without people reaching for her or stepping near her tail. We ended up getting exactly what we asked for in the first place, so I'm not upset--just mildly annoyed by the back-and-forth. But the service during the meal? Genuinely great. Everyone who brought our menus, took our orders, and served our food was incredibly kind, fast, and attentive. We hadn't eaten since noon and were exhausted from the drive, so that made a big difference. Food & Drinks Highlights: * Hibiscus Spritz: Loved it. Refreshing and beautifully balanced--not too sweet. * Beer Battered Fish & Chips: Our appetizer. Surprisingly excellent--crispy, flavorful, and not oily at all. My mom said it was her favorite dish of the night. * Thai Chicken & Noodle Salad: More spicy than expected (in a good way). Flavorful, unique, and something I've never had before. I really enjoyed it. * BBQ Chicken Cobb: My sister appreciated how they accommodated her by removing the bacon. * Roasted Quinoa & Vegetable Salad: My mom liked it a lot. Staff brought her a full plate of fresh lemon slices for her water, which was such a thoughtful touch. They refilled our large water bottle without us asking, checked on us often, cleared plates quickly, and even brought us towels to clean our hands--something I didn't see offered to every table, but I love when restaurants do that. It made us feel cared for. Final thoughts: Despite the rocky start, we left full, happy, and relaxed. The food was fresh and made with intention--no wilted greens or lazy shortcuts like I've seen too often in San Diego. The view was beautiful once we got the right seat, and being able to dine with our pup was a big bonus. Two out of three of us got our dinner orders and the third dinner arrived at the table 10 minutes later. We were told because the scallops were not the quality they felt was apt. But the cioppino was quite disappointing. We felt that we should have been told of the situation and given a choice of another entree. We went for dinner & ordered the calamari (cut into thick strips - LOVED) and a bowl of clam chowder (very good & great consistency) to start. Then, we ordered our main dishes which were the fish & chips (very good, nice crispy coating & flavorful tartar sauce) and the prime rib dip (nice flavor & great sauce). Both dishes were served with fries which could have been a bit warmer, but overall the portion sizes were large and the flavors were there. The one downside was the service - we were seated, ordered food (brought out by another server) and it took quite some time to get the main dishes out to us. Our waiter did not check on us once & we would have ordered more food/drinks if he had came back around. Then, at the end, our waiter had an attitude when we were paying for our meal. This is the second time my mom and I have had Corie as our server, and I can confidently say she provides the most exceptional service I've ever experienced at a restaurant. From the moment we sat down, she was kind, compassionate, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. She has that rare ability to make you feel completely taken care of without ever being overbearing. What made this visit even more impressive is that she was training someone at the same time and still didn't miss a beat.
