The restaurant is located right on the beach, making it the perfect spot for a group dinner. We were seated outside with a beautiful view of the sand and ocean, which made the experience even more enjoyable. I ordered the Seafood Cioppino, and it was delicious. I loved the variety of seafood, and everything tasted fresh. My only complaint was that there was a bit too much broth, and it was much saltier than I would have preferred. On the positive side, our waiter was attentive and careful with both our food and drinks. He did an excellent job serving our meals promptly and ensuring that each of our checks was accurate. I also appreciated that the restaurant was willing to split the bill for our group, offer a vegan version of a meal for one of my guests, and replace my beer with a lighter one after I found the first one too bitter. Nice views, and decent food options but service wasn't good - very unaccommodating and honestly we felt discriminated against. We came here for some appetizers, desserts, and coffee, and saw that they were - and we counted - 13 seats available outside near the beach. We came for the view and wanted to sit outside. We requested if we could take one of those tables and they said they were "very busy" and seated us perhaps in the worst place, inside next to a wall with no view, cramped next a large party. When asked if we could take one of the many-many tables open again, they shared they have reservations. Surprised that 13 tables would be occupied outside (plus those inside), we decided this place wasn't for us. Before I start this review, I wanna let you know that I was so looking forward to experiencing this establishment. My friend who is a doctor in Santa Barbara and highly regarded and his wife made a reservation for us with my 7 pound dog because this establishment is dog friendly. I want it to be known that we are retired. We are not rabble-rousers. But from beginning to end the service and the food and everything was so poor including management that I had to write this review. But I wanted to put it in context so you would understand the situation. This is a beach restaurant and very popular. They were waiting lines to get in. And because it's so dog friendly, there are a lot of dogs there. I don't have any problem with the dogs who were there even though some of them were not well-behaved. My problem is with the management, the service, and the food. I would also like to mention that the bathrooms are public. So you can imagine the condition they are in by dinner time. Now maybe the restaurant does not control this as it is located on a public beach. But be forewarned. This is how I started my evening in a filthy bathroom. When we sat down, we ordered $100 bottle of wine called Austin Hope. It's a Cabernet Sauvignon that is particularly tasteful. When the waiter brought the bottle, it was the wrong one. Now when you order a 15 or $20 bottle of wine, I can see how you might make a mistake because there's probably so many of them. But when you order $100 bottle of wine, you expect someone to pay attention. We pointed it out to the waiter, and he returned with the correct bottle of wine. I ordered the cioppino and my companions ordered the short rib and the other one ordered a salad. I would say it was easily 150 $200 worth of food. When my Ciappino arrived, the waiter presented it with a napkin as if it were hot, but it was stone cold. I don't mean warm I mean cold. How could he make that mistake when he was picking it up with a cloth? My other companion's food was fine so I asked them to please eat. Finally, my food arrived, and when it did, I mistakenly thought they had microwaved the food to reheat it because it was so much hotter than the plate that I had before. I complained, and then I changed my mind after I tasted the seafood because it appeared to be fresh and not reheated. I apologized for my mistake and we continued our meal. Now the bottle of wine that we ordered was 1000 mL bottle of wine, which is unusually large. So it took us a minute to get through it. By the time we finished our bottle, we were just having pleasant conversation and beginning to wrap things up. The manager came over and asked us to leave as we had spent too much time at the table. When we showed our displeasure, he then backtracked and said oh that's not what I said you were mistaken. But everyone at the table heard him ask us to leave. Now I don't know about the average beach goer, but I bet they're not dropping $400 when they come in for a meal. But even if they all are, that's not the point. From beginning to end our service was horrible. The food was horrible. That management was horrible and I will never go back there again and I urge you not to go there again. read more

Great spot on the beach. Went right before happy hour ended, which was a bit chaotic since we went through 3 servers. Two of them were great, one was pretty frazzled and not helpful. My friend and I came here for happy hour on a Thursday. It was busy, but we were still seated upon arrival. The restaurant is right on the beach and has that casual vibe. They have a large patio area and open doors to allow for the ocean breeze to come through. Food: We ordered a myriad of items off the happy hour menu to enjoy. Deviled Eggs - I ordered this without the bacon. The sweet and sour sauce is interesting. I would order again. Brussel Sprouts - I ordered this without the bacon, but it was still delicious. Crispy Asparagus Spears - These were my favorite. They were long and crispy, fried to perfection. Miso Garlic Noodles - The flavor was good, but the noodles were overcooked and too soft for my preference. My friend also ordered the fried chicken entree, and he enjoyed that meal. Driving up the coast and needed a place to stop and eat dinner . Based on Yelp reviews I decided to give this place a try. We made reservations and were seated pretty quickly . They have a good variety of different foods on the menu . The best part is the view of the ocean you get if you sit outside , which of course we did . We started off with the bacon jalapeños and they were so good ! They were a little small but that would be my only complaint about them . I decided to try the fish and chips , they came out very crispy but they got mushy too quick for my liking but the fish Inside was good and flaky , and the homemade tartar sauce was great . The reason this still gets a 4 star is because the food was actually really good, our server, Alex, saved the day, and the view is just unbeatable! I got the chilaquiles and they were fantastic, our table got a white chocolate pancake and it was so fluffy and good. All my friends enjoyed their food (chicken and biscuits, monster burrito, chicken club sandwich etc.) Couple of hiccups; had a reservation at 11:15 and didn't get sat until 11:30, no table touching for another 10 minutes. No "be right with you", or support staff getting us started, nothing. I went ahead to the two hosts that were just standing at the iPad and asked for some waters and a server. A new server, Alex, took over our table after his break. He was the best! He got us anything we needed when the food came out, and then noticed 3 of us were drinking Diet Coke and brought out a pitcher of it for us. Unreal! LOVE the location of reunion! it's right off of the sand and there's a sweet little play structure and swings for kids on the sand (perfect for your kids while you're waiting for your food to come out). the restaurant has a great patio to enjoy the views of the water and there's ample seating inside at the bar and tables the menu has a variety of different items ranging from tacos to southern comfort food so a little bit of something for everyone. the food was overall good, but we did find that the food needed a little bit of salt (and we usually eat things with barely any salt). read more

Overall the food was a 3.5 (pasta was BLAND) but unfortunately our experience was tainted by dingus #1 & # 2 running the bar. They did not have a clue what they were doing (including a lack of handwashing post plunging the stopped bar sink with immersed hands in muck and then immediately making a drink and handling garnish) and and were so distracted by their loud conversations about Las Vegas and strippers that the experience was unsavory. We went there for lunch on a Friday. They were busy , but we were still able to get a table inside. The outside patio was packed, but there were plenty of seats inside. They had both booths and tables. Service was a bit slow, but the server was professional and friendly. We ordered the BBQ chicken Cobb salad and the short rib sliders. There are not that many restaurants in Santa Barbara right on the beach, and this is one of them. We had a great dinner here tonight with friends. Cocktails and wine were good. We got to see the Santa Barbara sunset. My husband and I had the house salad, which was very good and the short rib stroganoff, which was delicious. Been here so many times. Food is consistently good. Everything we have ordered has been great. Dog friendly patio and that's the reason we used to come here so frequently with our little yorkie but even after we said goodbye to our 18 & a half year old little dog, we still come here to enjoy the view, eat a wonderful meal and reminisce when our senior pooch was with us. We found this gem right on East Beach in Santa Barbara. There were both beachfront patio and indoor dining options and they somehow perfectly combined casual oceanfront dining with an outstanding menu. Make sure to make a reservation for outdoor seating. We were served by the lovely Harvey, who was warm, welcoming and made us feel right at home. Thank you Harvey! We ordered the deviled eggs which were out of this world, the best French onion soup in town, delicious miso garlic noodles and a Cobb salad. Every dish was delicious and full of wonderful flavors. Today was our first time here. We came around 10:30 and there was a 30 min wait for outside. No problem! We went and sat at the cute bar inside. Billy took great care of us! Fabulous personality and he was working hard! I had the ahi bowl. I really enjoyed the flavors. I made my husband order the chicken and biscuits so I could try it. He didn't even want to share because he loved it so much! Bottomless mimosas are a plus. My husband's was never empty. We will definitely be back after our next hiking adventure in SB. Great ocean side view with good food and drink. What more could you ask for. Had the avocado wontons, slow braised ribs and French onion soup. All very good. The wontons are not finger food. Need to be eaten with a fork but enjoyed them very much. Needed a little salt but prefer putting it on to my taste rather than them over salting. The ribs and soup were fantastic. Service was friendly and prompt. My only slight negative was how loud this place was. We sat outside and it was surprisingly loud with everyone talking and having a good time. Nothing that would keep me from coming again. Had to walk back about an hour after we finished when I forgot my little Jesus (Diosito). The wait staff found him and held onto him for me. We ate there Thursday night, around 6:30 pm, 8/20/26: tuna melt and calamari. The ambiance is good as often is at a beach establishment. Drinks were OK too. Yet, the rest, I.e. the food and service were 1 on a scale of 5 being the best. The tuna melt was grossly over salted and not because of the pickles. A few pieces of calamari were OK, but the rest were impossibly salty. So, almost 35-40% of food was left. Service; after being seated, we waited for 15 minutes before one of bartenders stopped by to take the order while other servers didn't seem to be that busy at all. After experiencing a heart attack level of salt, I asked to see the manager. He came, listened to my complaint, seemed to care more about us being visitors or locals, and was "0" receptive to my criticism. He offered free dessert guaranteeing it was going to be sweet. Yet, we were not interested in dying in Santa Barbara as nice as it is... His reaction made me think of the Shawshank Redemption jailer's obtusity. I rarely right reviews but this refusal of taking responsibility in a customer service was extraordinary. Hence, the generous rating of "1" which really should have been minus "1". read more

We really enjoyed our dinner here. The location really can't be beat if you like being on the sand or near the ocean. I had the salmon and my son had the fish and chips. We started with calamari and also had the lemon bars for dessert. Yummy! It was a short walk from the Hilton where we are staying and that was really nice. There is a playground in the sand next door which was great for my son to let off some steam after dinner. Service was very friendly. Maybe a little slow, but we were in no hurry and they were pretty busy so no worries on that. Just settle in and enjoy the time by the beach. The patio is nicely decorated and there are some fireplace couch set up to fine which is nice. We got our requested outdoor seating which was also a bonus. Wow! The food was amazing and phone did not eat first on our appetizer and entrees! We had the best reunion at Reunion Kitchen with our sweet friends. The deviled eggs are next-level, art-on-a-plate, piled high with creamy egg yolk and drizzled with sweet and sour sauce and bacon bits. They were a great counter point to the ribs, which were meaty and flavorful, but I could have used slightly less breading. The slaw provided a nice balance. My wife got the blackened fish sandwich with fries. One of the best fish sandwiches ever. Reunion is right on the beach and you have a great view. We had a large party and they were very accommodating to us, we had multiple servers and they were attentive throughout our meal. With such a large party, we actually had to meet a minimum. This meant that we tried plenty of the menu. For appetizers, we ordered the calamari, brussel sprouts, deviled eggs, miso garlic noodles. Our favorites were the calamari and brussel sprouts, while they're basic appetizers, Reunion just hit the nail on the head with these two. The others were good, but slightly bland and didn't do much for us. For my entree, I ordered the sliced steak and potato salad. This was a nicely balanced meal for me! It has both a warm potato salad and a greens salad, so you get a little bit of everything. The steak was cooked nicely, slightly overdone on the ends, but I don't mind. The portions here are generous, so I would consider that when ordering as well. For our desserts, we ordered the lemon bar brûlée, which was just a regular lemon bar with that caramelized top. Nothing too spectacular because it tastes exactly like what it sounds like. We also ordered the warm butter cake, which is a must get. It's so soft in the center and so absolutely sweet, but worth getting it to split with others. Throughout the meal, I ordered a couple drinks and I don't think you can go wrong with their cocktail menu (tequila mockingbird was my favorite). I keep trying this place because it does have some positives. But every time I have tried it with one or more people there is always some disappointment. So I cannot give this restaurant more than a three stars. First, it is a nice place to go if you want to sit by the beach. Of course, the best view is outside on the patio. Unfortunately today the only tables left were in the bright sun and their umbrellas just don't do the job. We had reservations as there were six of us. So we ended up sitting inside, the atmosphere is nice, but it is extremely noisy and loud inside when the place is busy. We actually were not able to hear each others conversation without shouting. As we were there, some tables did leave, and then it was a little more tolerable. In fact, the waitress could not even hear us when we were trying to order, she had to keep having us repeat ourselves Now for the food that we experienced. I do recommend the calamari and the jalapeño poppers. As appetizers they were quite delicious. Some of us at the table did order drinks, and the wait was quite long( she did then tell us that the bar was backed up. In fact, some of our food had come before the drinks. This has been an ongoing problem here when I have stopped at this restaurant. Unfortunately, once again, I picked a wrong item on their menu. I decided to order the seared Ahi tuna salad, as I really do like Ahi salad. The salad arrived, and it was very blasé. Nothing exciting about it. You couldn't find the roasted red peppers without really digging, and I believe I found one. It was mainly spring lettuce (not even that fresh), cucumbers, a little grated carrot, and a couple cubes of tomato. Now the Ahi tuna was really nice and a good taste to it, but I like mine with a little pizzazz. As I had asked for the sauces on the side, which did not arrive, I re-asked for the wasabi aïoli. It was brought, and it actually tasted like nothing but pure mayonnaise. So I asked for it again thinking I had gotten the wrong thing. But the next little container was nothing but mayonnaise with a hint of mint green color. I ended up essentially taking most of my salad home so that I can spice it up and make it more desirable. Most of the other people at our table, felt that their food was pretty delicious, but nothing extraordinary. I guess I will come again as it is a nice outing by the beach; a nice place meet up with someone but I think I'll stick with appetizers. read more

You could either sit outside right next to the water or inside where it's aesthetically comfortable. We had Brian as our training server, and he was so personable & attentive. This ocean front restaurant is very casual but the food is so good, it seems high end. We sat at the bar, and Callen (sp?) was not only a competent server, he was charming, as well. I ordered a BLT with avocado, expecting a traditional white bread sandwich but what I got was so beyond- absolutely delicious and so well-made (see photo!) We're obsessed with this Santa Barbara gem! This was our third visit and it just keeps getting better. The ambiance is warm and inviting. It is right on the beach. The first time we dined there was two summers ago when we visitwd the SB zoo. Tonight our server, HUDSON, what a rockstar! Attentive, knowledgeable, and passionate about the menu. His recommendations were spot on! He was nice to give us two warm waters to go as we were adjusting to Santa Barbara weather and shivering in the cold. The food? TO DIE FOR.
