    Bacon egg and cheese croissant
    Mackenzie O.

I have to be honest that D'Angelo's Bakery was the plan B after another cafe recommended by yelp was wall-to-wall; However, this place will now be one I frequent on my visits to Santa Barbara & I highly recommend to anyone stopping through and seeking a delicious, beautiful breakfast. We sat outside with the beautiful views of Spanish-influenced architecture and fresh green spring mountains, with the pier and ocean peeking through the peripheral. It happened to be my birthday, so our mimosas were seemingly bottomless and our waiter was highly attentive. The FOOD. wow! I love a breakfast sandwich - so the eggs bacon and cheese on a flaky croissant hit the SPOT. wow! One of the best I've ever had! Portions are phenomenal. Flavor is impeccable. I feel so incredibly grateful to have stumbled on such an amazing find, and I hope others see it the same!

OMG, died and gone to bread heaven. This is the place where carbohydrate dreams are baked. We have grabbed Danish and Bread here twice. The pastries are Su Perb. Cheese Danish, Cherry or Blueberry. Had a delectable Almond Croissant. Light, crispy, moist! There are so many more options to choose from. Cinnamon twists cant wait to try them all "in moderation" haha. So many breads to available,A dozen?? We had the ciabatta for our picnic and then made incredible croutons with the rest. A sourdough loaf made great toast. And the winner was the Pumpernickel Rye. Dark mahogany brown, slightly sweet. Service is always polite and educated. Questions will be answered guiding you to winning selections. Would you like things sliced etc. I left my CC in the machine (No Beeping Reminder sad face emoji) but no one noticed and came looking for us at the coffee roasters. My fault but you hate it when it happens. There is plenty of seating inside and outside on the sidewalk. They have a full breakfast / brunch menu but I will never get past the breakfast breads and loaves to go.

    French Ham & Gruyère sandwich

Stopped in during a walking tour to grab an iced coffee, and their breads and menu had me back for lunch. I ordered the French Ham & Gruyère sandwich and a fresh-squeezed lemonade. The bread/sandwich was really terrific (though not a legit baguette in shape, and served with mayo, not butter, -- I omitted the mayo). I would order it again! Service was quick to the table I chose at the sidewalk. They also have patio and indoor seating.

Cute cafe in Downtown Santa Barbara! Got variety of pastries to choose from. If I got more time, I would definitely try their breakfast items. I only got a banana muffin and a ham and cheese croissant for quick bites. The service was pretty slow... the ratio of customer to staff is unbalanced, definitely need to hire more employees because everyone was running around the restaurant. The banana muffin was very fluffy and got the good sweet from banana and had some nuts on top which added the crunch! The ham and cheese croissant was buttery and stringy in a good way. It was warmed up. I can see myself eating it for a week straight!

D'Angelo Bakery (often called D'Angelo Bread) is a cherished, European-style artisanal bakery and cafe in downtown Santa Barbara known for its house-made breads, vibrant brunch scene, and cozy neighborhood vibe. Located just off State Street, it is a quintessential local favorite that combines casual elegance with the inviting aroma of fresh-baked goods. Their signature dish the Egg "Rose"--poached eggs on Kalamata olive toast with artichoke spread--is its most famous offering, even featured on the Food Network. While street parking can be tricky, there is a public parking lot nearby that offers the first 75 minutes for free.

Really cute café/ bakery with lots of pastries. We stopped by to get croissants and really loved the atmosphere too. The lady working there was super friendly and we might be back for a full breakfast there.

Such a cute place to grab a delicious bite! My first time here and I would definitely come back. Definitely popular among the locals, we were seated pretty quickly.

D'Angelo's food and service is always top notch. They have outdoor seating in a cute alley and tucked away from the hustle and bustle. They also have heaters for the outdoors which is cozy for those cooler mornings! The huevos rancheros are a favorite of mine. I've had plenty at various restaurants and they are unbeatable. The tortilla stays crispy throughout the meal and it's not an easy feat!

There was only one person in line and 4 staff members behind the counter standing around talking to each other. Nobody greeted us or asked for our bakery order. When the cashier finished with their customer they walked away and even though they saw we were waiting to be helped. I looked around and saw nobody helping seated customers or us at the bakery counter. Finally, the dirty blonde ask what we need and my response was "WHAT" ?! At this point we should have left and gone to Lilac Patisserie however we proceeded to give her our order. I told another customer behind us that rudeness seems to be the norm, and she agreed. I paid for our bakery items and asked an older woman scrolling on her phone if we could have a bag for all of our boxed treats. She grabbed a handful of bags and threw them at me from across the counter. We were appalled and left. We found a place to sit on State street to eat our treats and my daughter said she didn't want her Meringue because the dirty blonde girl used the back of her ungloved hand to repeatedly wipe her nose. GET READY FOR A TRANSCENDENT DONUT EXPERIENCE…read more Just off State Street on Figueroa, you'll find a donut shop that feels more like a craft breakfast kitchen with a serious pastry soul. The owner's love for their craft, staff, and product make for an inviting ambiance you don't find in many establishments in their class. DON'T MISS BREAKFAST Their menu goes far beyond donuts, blending whimsical, flavor-forward pastries with substantial breakfast sandwiches and bowls featuring bacon, turkey sausage, and mouthwatering, fluffy eggs that taste like they've been kissed with something buttery, creamy, and completely unforgettable. PASTRY IS IN THEIR DNA The first sign you're in the right place? Walking past stacks of pastry flour on your way to the donut counter. Nothing says "this is going to be good" like seeing the foundation of the craft right there in front of you. And these are not airy, forgettable donuts. These are brioche-style, flavor-filled, butter-forward creations that deliver exactly what the menu promises. CHOCOLATE CHERRY ALMOND OLD FASHIONED (OH MY) The Chocolate Cherry Almond Old Fashioned is in a class of its own. It surpasses every old fashioned donut I've had, with a light cake base, a low-oil profile, and none of the overly craggy, greasy edges you get from a less thoughtful donut. This is pastry territory. The chocolate and almond are subtle at first, then the cherry arrives with a dramatic full tastebud activation -- sweet, salt, fat, and bitter all working together. The cherry blooms at the back of your mouth like springtime near the Capitol in D.C. or a Japanese cherry blossom landscape. It's where cake and donut collide into something that redefines the experience for kids and kids at heart. SNAP-CRACKLE-POP TREAT WITH AN UPGRADE THAT'S SWEET The Brown Butter Rice Krispie Treat Donut is another five-star execution of both concept and flavor. The Rice Krispies are real -- not decorative. They sit in a marshmallow flow atop a lightly sweet donut that oozes buttery goodness, with just the right touch of salt to elevate the sweetness and add that extra delight on the palate. So far, nobody or nothing can compare with my high ideals for a cinnamon bun/roll, but that's okay. I keep searching. As for the coffee cake, that was just weird.
