Stopped off on a trip to So Cal driving down the coast. We are here around 12:30 on a Saturday and there are just a handful of folks eating, visiting, and hanging out with their dogs outside. Inside is empty and there are 10-12 tables. Parking in the area is limited but they have street parking and a designated strip to the rear with 12-14 spots. Employees were friendly and we ordered the quiche Lorraine, almond brioche, and 2 kouign amann pastries. The kouign amann was my favorite as it was soft but chewy with great flavor. Kind of like baclava consistency and flavor. The almond brioche was super moist and completely covered in burnt almonds. It was really good. My son crushed the quiche and it was super dense and flavorful. Black and green ice teas were good. Additionally, the restroom was super clean and smelled good (weird I know) but I think we you take care to make sure your whole place is nice and clean, it totally adds to the experience. I cannot believe I have never been here! You have to order upfront, but the line goes fast and service was quick! I got the basic eggs and toast, but is was anything but basic. The scrambled eggs were creamy and delicious without feelng under-cooked and the fresh bread, slightly toasted to perfection, with high end buitter and homemade strawberry jam. During our stay in Santa Barbara, Bree'osh Bakery was our goto place for breakfast as the food and coffee were great and it was just around the corner from our hotel. Over a few days, the three of us tried a cappuccino, a flat white, a triple-shot iced latte, the croissant sandwich, the brioche sandwich, a pain suisse, a pistachio beignet, a yogurt granola bowl, and the egg & toast plate. We mostly enjoyed everything that we tried. The pastries and the brioche were expertly made and presented. For me, the Greek yogurt they used for the granola bowl was a little too tangy for me, but my husband liked it. Also, my sourdough toast was sliced a little too thin and overly over toasted for my taste, but my husband didn't mind the extra crunch. Overall, we liked Bree'osh because the food and coffee were good, the atmosphere was nice, and the staff were very friendly. We will return whenever we are in the area. read more

The good: The apple turnover, brioche loaf, and mocha were all solid. Would have been happy to give 4-5/5 on food quality. Service: 1/5. We were sent back and forth between cash registers. The guy up front was too busy chatting to help anyone, resulting in a long and slow line. The woman at the back register refused to take our order and audibly groaned and rolled her eyes when we asked to place our order (as instructed by the distracted guy up front). I've rarely been given a coffee I can't drink but today I had to pass on the ice latte I ordered here. I even came back was given an additional shot which did not help. The ice/milk/espresso ratio was way off the barista stated it's because they used whole milk which is the sane milk I typically use so I'm hard pressed to think that was the issue. Stumbled here for an unexpected weekend lunch while visiting Cottage hospital (it's about a 10 min walk). Their artichoke olive tomato and feta sandwich on the freshest country bread was sooo delightful and gets them the 5 starts in an of itself. My husband had the brioche toast which came with apples, some sort of caramel sauce and crème. It was decadent but not overly sweet. An excellent choice. This has been my favorite and second time stopping by and never disappoints. Plenty of indoor and patio seating, helpful staff. The breakfast sandwich is just so mouthwatering, never before have i seen scrambled egg cooked to perfection, so airy and fluffy and a soft warm brioche bun (you also have the option to add salmon or ham). Excellent bakery but horrendous and inconsistent service. I come here about once a week and it's often an aggravating experience. Today they tried to charge me for two pastries and when I corrected the cashier she double checked her mistake, then had an attitude with me when I was paying. No thank you when I left. Another time it wasn't really busy with just one person in front of me. I ordered on donut (they call them beignets lol) There were two flavors and they managed to mistakenly give me the wrong one. Another time I called ahead and they said panettone's were readily available for walking. Then when I came in they said they were special order for future pickup. Which is it? Today they were out of avocados and instead of posting a sign that said "sorry we are out of avocados " it said "NO AVOCADOS!!!" It's like amateur hour here. Visited Santa Barbara for the day and stopped in for a quick breakfast at 11:30am before meeting up with family that lives within walking distance. The place is cute inside and the outdoor patio has a nice area to sit in the sun. I ordered an almond croissant(because that was the only croissants they had left). They did have a few other pastries to choose from, but my croissant was delicious just the same. My daughter ordered the Bree'Osh Breakfast Sandwich with no onions, but they came with them anyway so she scraped them off because she was too hungry to send it back. Man what a disappointment. I used to love this place and always looked forward to their breakfast sandwhich when visiting from LA. The eggs were soft and creamy and the arugula added a nice bite. I just ordered two of these ($14 each!) and they were honestly just disgusting. They have decided to swap SOGGY, BROWN shredded ICEBERG to this warm scrambled egg sandwhich and it is just plain awful. The insane amount of "special sauce" and grilled onions made it take like a Big Mac with scrambled eggs. BARF. Also the eggs were overcooked, unsalted and just gross. This bakery nestled on the corner of de la Vina and alamar is a place to get your croissant fix! Did I tell you they have beignets as well?! The filling is perfect but not too sweet as the beignets are covered in sugar. They have baguettes as well and a lot of other snacks to choose from to take and coffee based drinks. Croissant are the flaky buttery mess that you will enjoy devouring. The only downside of the location is finding parking. The staff is friendly and helpful with any questions you may have. I can't believe it took me so long to go into this place. I was doing laundry early today and needed breakfast. I was expecting pastries and not much else but they have a large menu of breakfast and lunch items. I got their breakfast sandwich and liked it very much. I chose it without add-ons, and it really didn't need any. Some salt and pepper and sautéed onion on the egg and a nice fluffy brioche bun was just the ticket. It was quiet at that hour, and I noticed a lady had her beautiful dog with her. A nice homey atmosphere that welcomed everyone! I will go back! My only complaint was that the coffee was more bitter than I'd like. I am a bit of a snob when it comes to my coffee, so I forgive them. It might be just what someone loves. read more

Came here with my BF for breakfast on a Friday morning. I really wanted to like this place because this was such a cute and sunny little coffee shop! I ordered a chai tea latte with oat milk and the brioche breakfast sandwich with smoked salmon, while my BF got drip coffee, the brioche breakfast sandwich, and a chocolate croissant. Chai tea latte with oat milk: 4/10. Very meh. This is my go-to order at every coffee shop, and I can honestly say this was probably the worst one I've ever had. The chai flavor was so weak I almost thought at first they had accidentally served me milk. It was missing both sweetness and spice. Chocolate croissant: 7/10. This was good, but was a bit stiff and not as fluffy and flaky as the croissants we've had at other bakeries. Brioche breakfast sandwich: 7/10. I thought this was yummy, and the eggs were scrambled well. However, charging $17 for a breakfast sandwich seems kind of insane to me. Disappointed because this place was pretty pricey despite having mediocre coffee. It may be more worth it just ordering their pastries instead of their larger food items. read more

This is a great bakery to get your fix of brioche and croissant items. They do both styles very well. The bacon and egg cup is excellent. I included a picture of thee center you can see the perfect yolk. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that they make the almond paste in-house--it's that special. I tried it in the Almond Brioche, and that's what I recommend that you try. There's a substantial amount of toasted almonds on top, and the almond pasted is both underneath the almonds and in the center. Cinnamon roll- this was so delicious!! I loved how flakey it was. It also wasn't too sugarey and had just the perfect sugar and cinnamon ratio, making it light and not overwhelming. It was also incredibly fresh. Matcha latte- this was so delicious! I'm pretty picky about matcha, and I tend to not be a fan of warm matcha lattes but I was honestly taken aback by how good this was. The matcha was very authentic tasting and props for the cute latte art on top!! Definitely one of the best matcha's I've ever had. This bakery in SB is incredible. The service and staff are very kind and helpful. After ordering, the line was pretty much almost out the door so it's definitely quite popular. There's plenty of options for pastries as well as sandwiches (I have heard phenomenal things about their avocado toast). In addition, they serve dune coffee (a popular roasting company in SB). The owners, Nelly and Pierre, make homemade sourdough bread using liquid sourdough and a slow fermentation process. The brioche bread takes 15 hours to make, and the croissant takes 3 days to make- talk about dedication! The bakery is so pretty on the inside as well offering seating. I had discovered this place to such an exciting yelp experience!
