    Turkey jam sandwich
    Bethany R.

Came for lunch and tried their lunch food for the first time! They were out of most pastries by lunch time but we got some monkey bread, cookie, iced coffee, and a turkey jam sandwich and a salad. All of it was very light, healthy, and yummy, I think I like their breakfast more so next time I will stick to that even if it's lunch time. But it was a nice sunny day and we ate out on the side patio, enjoyed beautiful montecito and had very friendly attentive service! Always love Jeanine's!

Visiting from San Jose with a couple of my girl friends- Jeannine's Bakery is GREAT for brunch/lunch. I ordered the chipotle chicken sandwich and it was sooo amazing. Loved the grilled onions and the sauce, it rlly tied the entire sandwich together. Not sure what my friends ordered but from what I was hearing they were all very happy with their food! The restaurant itself is adorable and aesthetic. Service was amazing and overall, I would definitely come back.

Cute stop on the way to Santa Barbara and much easier to access than the one there. All the staff we interacted with was super friendly and engaging. Their bathroom is outside in the plaza but easy to use. Food was ok, good but not fantastic for the price. We ordered an American breakfast with potatoes and biscuit. I really loved the multi colored potatoes and peppers! Eggs were French scrambled and perfect but the biscuit was pretty disappointing, very dry. My Arnold palmer had fresh tea and very tart lemonade. My partner's coffee came in a large mug but was just ok. My side of avocado was fresh but the strawberries in my side of fruit, not so much.

Always my first stop when in Santa Barbara or Montecito for brunch!!! The best breakfast sandwiches and fresh squeezed orange juice! I also got the fluffy soft scrambled eggs with fraîche on sourdough, accompanied by arugula salad, hash browns, and iced green tea with mint. Everything is delicious. Wonderful sunny outdoor seating. Friendly staff. My go to breakfast spot!

First time actually staying in SB and wanted something special for breakfast. I was really impressed with the style and design of the restaurant. The service was great with friendly staff. The food and coffee was delicious!

Here's the croissant and the potatoes.

I travel around the world empowering minds in schools and corporate spaces--and having a great time doing it. I was invited to Montecito County as a keynote speaker, where I also led several workshops and an all-day retreat. When you're doing that kind of work, sleep (and great food!) is paramount. The organizers put me up in a wonderful hotel, and just a few feet away I discovered this adorable bakery. What a gift. Let's talk food--because WOW. I ordered a breakfast burrito with crispy bacon that was absolutely delicious. I treated my daughter to a breakfast sandwich, and she wisely added avocado and crispy bacon (excellent life choice). And I cannot forget the croissant--flaky, buttery, and so good it deserved its own moment. One day I had the hashbrowns, the next day the potatoes--both were outstanding. Comfort food done right. Despite the place being busy, the service was impeccable. Yvette and Jorie were not only kind and welcoming, but incredibly patient, serving everyone with genuine smiles and care. What truly impressed me was returning the next morning before my flight back to San Francisco--and Yvette remembered my name. That speaks volumes about the caliber of people who work here. It's rare, and it matters. I look forward to being hired again in Montecito County--and when I am, I already know exactly where I'll be eating. And hey... maybe you want to hire me sometime too. Highly recommend.

Beautiful patio on the main strip of Montecito

We LOVE Jeannine's! Their pastries are delicious and the outdoor patio is lovely. Every time we're in Montecito, we stop by for our two favorites -- the LEMON SQUARE and the MILLIONAIRE'S SHORTBREAD. They are both absolutely divine! Someone also mentioned that their scones are amazing, so we will try them next time we're in. Oh, and the workers are always so helpful and friendly. I popped in a little after 2pm the other day (not realizing that they had just closed), and one of the workers graciously boxed me up a couple pastries to-go. She even went downstairs to get them out of the fridge. So kind! We will be back again soon!

French toast with berries, egg whites and ham! Loved it all!

Absolutely love this gem! For years I've been enjoying some of the best food, perfect ambiance & great service! This weekend I celebrated my daughter's birthday at Jeannine's & once again I left with a happy heart! From the kind lady who took my order to Max continuing to check on us and ensuring we didn't need anything! Max was friendly and attentive to detail which helped make our visit even more enjoyable! The bbq chicken salad was one of the best I've ever had along w the cornbread muffin that came with it! The berry French toast w eggs was delicious too! It's the cutest place with beautiful decor & umbrellas which make it picture perfect! Looking forward to my next visit to Jeannine's at my favorite location ...Montecito!

    French toast and breakfast burrito
    Kamryn A.

Bopped into Jeannine's for a quick coffee and matcha and stayed for a great breakfast! The breakfast burrito was the perfect savory start to the day and the yogurt and granola was great-- I'm a sucker for homemade granola. But the result star of the show is the banana French toast (pretty much bananas foster) and it's practically a dessert! So fluffy and sweet. Food came out really quickly. unfortunately it was a rainy day otherwise there is lots of outdoor seating. The inside is super cute though!

One of the best breakfast spots in the area. They have a wide variety on the menu, service is great and overall a very pleasant experience. Special brunch menu on Friday's- got the Lobster Benedict w/ hash browns... super good!

Tri Tip Sandwich with Poblano Peppers
    Kelly K.

Pricey sandwich for what you get. It didn't have much meat and had too much poblano peppers in the sandwich. Served with a small amount of basic refried beans with a tiny amount of cheese on top and a few tortilla chips. For 20 dollars, I was disappointed. Service was okay and ambiance was nice with outdoor seating.

    Norwegian Benedict

My friends and I were wanting to try out Jeannine's after seeing quite a few recommendations/good reviews on social media. We were originally going to head to the Santa Barbara location but were happy to find another location in Montecito as that aligned with our plans to explore the area. The restaurant is super cute with mostly outdoor seating I believe (although the SB one did seem to have more seating both in and outdoors). We placed an order at the counter and sat outside. Although they have heaters placed outside, they don't produce a lot of heat (at least the one we sat next to), so it was a bit chilly and perhaps a better idea to sit inside during the cold months. As for food, I ordered the Norwegian Benedict with a side of bacon and a mango banana pineapple smoothie. Everything tasted quite good! The Norwegian benedict had a lot of different ingredients including cream cheese, smoked salmon, capers, onions, cucumber, etc., and tasted really fresh and delicious together especially when adding a bit of bacon as well. I will say ordering the side of bacon was a bit steep ($5 for 3 pieces), so probably wouldn't get that again. I enjoyed the mango smoothie - you could really taste each fruit especially the pineapple and I appreciated that it didn't taste too sweet or seem to have artificial sweeteners (at least it didn't taste like it). My sister ordered the Chilaquiles, which I've never had before but thought they were really flavorful. Overall, the food was pretty tasty and would love to try some of their sweet breakfast items if I ever had the opportunity to come back.

    Latte
    Sara B.

My sister and I came here for Breakfast on Memorial Day on our way to Santa Barbara. It's a cute bakery and restaurant. We both got the burrito and I also got a latte. You stand in line to order and then cross your fingers that a table is available after you stood in line to order. Tables indoors are really limited to just a few and outside there are about 7-8 small tables. They do not like you to save a table. Our burritos came with a mixed melody of potatoes: golden potatoes, sweet potato and purple sweet potatoes. They were good! The burritos were a scrambled egg with pieces of bacon and cheese served with a fire roasted salsa. The latte was nice but I am used to a flavored syrup so I would have preferred if they offer a vanilla latte.

We only went because we needed somewhere to get lunch for a party of six on Thanksgiving Day and the first couple places we thought to call were closed. We realized we might have better luck with hotel restaurants and were relieved when someone at the Revere Room picked up the phone. We said we'd be there in about half an hour and asked if we should make a reservation, and the person on the line said there was no need, as we should be able to walk in. I was pretty annoyed when we showed up as promised and the restaurant was completely full. Like I understand that the staff can't predict what will happen between noon and 12:30 on Thanksgiving Day, but this did seem foreseeable, and they should have taken our name down since we'd told them we were coming. I told the host what had happened, and she just kind of smiled and acted like she hadn't heard me. No apology, and we waited, with two young kids and their grandparents, for forty minutes. Service was fine once we sat down, and the patio setting was nice. The menu was basic California coastal, nothing exciting but something for everyone. I got the Central Coast Cobb, a hearty salad with Santa Ynez greens, grilled organic chicken breast, crispy bacon, Munak Ranch soft boiled egg, avocado, tomato, goat cheese, and honey dijon vinaigrette. I liked it, and it kept me full enough until Thanksgiving dinner. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back to the Revere Room, which feels like it mostly exists to feed hotel guests. I'm glad we had somewhere to go with my parents and kids, though, even if they were snooty about making us wait.

From the stunning grounds to the impeccable service and beautifully executed food, the entire experience feels luxurious without being pretentious. If you're celebrating a special occasion, it's hard to imagine a better setting. I chose Stonehouse for my birthday this year, and they made the evening feel incredibly memorable. Our server, I believe her was Amy, was absolutely fantastic. she was warm, attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely made me feel celebrated throughout the meal. It's the kind of hospitality that elevates an already wonderful dinner into something unforgettable. I ordered the lychee mocktail which was refreshing with a perfect balance of sweetness, and my server smoked it table side for me. It was such a thoughtful gesture for my birthday. We started with the assortment of fresh breads served alongside really high quality olive oil, which were delicious on their own. Shortly after, we were treated to an amuse bouche which was a delicate whipped lobster nestled inside a slice of cucumber. It was light, elegant, and a wonderful way to begin the meal. The Grilled Yellow Peach and Burrata Salad was another standout. The sweetness of the peaches paired beautifully with the creamy burrata, creating a refreshing and well balanced appetizer that felt perfect for the season. For our entree, we shared the Beef Wellington for Two, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The pastry was beautifully golden and flaky, while the beef was cooked perfectly and remained incredibly tender. The sauce also made it very pleasant. Every component of the dish felt thoughtfully prepared. It also came with the Signature Mashed Potatoes. It was unbelievably rich and indulgent. At first it seemed a little watery, but after letting it sit for a few minutes, it thickens slightly and became perfectly smooth and velvety. By the end of dinner, I was completely satisfied, but they had one final surprise for me. The team presented me with a beautiful birthday dessert, a thoughtful gesture that perfectly capped off an already exceptional celebration. Beyond the food, the property itself is breathtaking. The beautifully landscaped grounds and elegant dining spaces create an atmosphere that's both romantic and timeless. Every detail feels intentional, making the experience feel truly special from the moment you arrive. Stonehouse consistently delivers one of the finest dining experiences in the Santa Barbara area. Between the impeccable service, outstanding cuisine, gorgeous setting, and thoughtful hospitality, it's a place I find myself returning to time and time again.

We went back a few weeks ago, for Matt's 43rd birthday, and found a completely different restaurant. I guess at some point, San Ysidro Ranch went all-inclusive, and Stonehouse started serving a mostly captive clientele: hotel guests who've already paid for dinner. This is fine if you're staying at the Ranch, but if you remember The Stonehouse as a fancy special occasion restaurant with a high level of service, your impression is out of date. The astronomical prices may suggest otherwise, but keep in mind that most diners aren't really paying those anyway. We went on a drizzly Tuesday night and sat inside, missing out on the scenic patio. The dining room was nice, though, very stately, and as parents ourselves, we were not put out by the number of children in the room, the families sitting down for a casual weeknight dinner. We were surprised, though, when we tried to order drinks and our waiter asked to see our IDs. My husband presented his license, which showed very clearly that it was his 43rd birthday. The waiter had no comment on this, and instead turned his attention to me, Matt's 40-year-old wife. I didn't have ID on me, and he refused to take my drink order. We weren't about to have an expensive birthday dinner without alcohol, so we got up to drive home and pick up my license. But first, I decided to try my luck with a manager. Because look, I understand that I should've had my wallet, but also, I hadn't been carded at a restaurant in years. I told this to the manager, and suggested they tell customers in advance to make sure to bring ID. Instead of explaining that he needed to be careful because The Stonehouse served families with teenagers, he said it was the law, and that every restaurant should be carding aggressively. This was so disingenuous I more or less asked if he'd ever been to a restaurant. I also offered to show him a scan of my passport and the picture Matt and I took at The Stonehouse the night we got engaged in 2012, well after I turned seven. He relented, and we were reseated without having to produce my license. I didn't hold any of this against our waiter, but we were assigned a new one anyway, and received middling service for the duration of our meal. For one thing, we asked for help picking a bottle from the massive wine book, and it took the somm an actual half hour to pay us a visit. We were done with our appetizers and had checked in with our waiter twice by the time he made his way over. The other annoyance was that no one acknowledged Matt's birthday, despite the time we spent litigating birthdays, during which I mentioned quite pointedly that we were there for his 43rd. I even told a server who checked in on me before dessert while Matt was in the bathroom, and he said he'd make sure there was a candle in our tart. Not the end of the world, but this did not happen. The drinks, when we got them, were great, starting with cocktails, which almost tided us over until we received our wine. These were $33 a pop and kind of ridiculous, smoked tableside with a showy gadget. The Negroni Tropicale was made with grilled pineapple-infused No. 3 dry gin, Campari, Carpano Antica, and orange zest, then smoked with pecan wood. The French Quarter mixed Bardstown Ferrand Cognac-cask bourbon, Zaya 16-year rum, Benedictine, oloroso sherry, dry vermouth, and orange bitters, and was smoked with bourbon oak wood. For wine, we got a bottle of 2020 Vietti Monvigliero Barolo. This was excellent, and also a bit of a win. The bottle was barely marked up from retail, and we'll never know if The Stonehouse has exceptionally favorable wine prices or we were served the wrong vintage on accident. Food was solid, starting with Maine lobster salad in tiny phyllo cups, a nice welcome bite. Bread basket came with pumpkin seed lavash pumpkin seed, sourdough, and rice flour rolls, with olive oil for dipping. We enjoyed a half-dozen oysters with pickled Asian pear mignonette, and Japanese yellowtail crudo with pixie tangerine, purple radish, seagrass, and shiro dashi vinaigrette. Acorn squash agnolotti were lovely, with black truffle, toasted pecans, morel mushrooms, and a goat cheese fondue. The duck a l'orange came with a show, the sauce flambéed tableside on portable burner. A lot of magic tricks on this menu, perhaps for the kids. The duck breast was good, though, over barley pilaf with Tokyo turnips, herbes de Provence, Cara Cara orange, and Grand Marnier. The herb-crusted rack of lamb was decent too, served with lamb sausage, Tuscan kale, crispy polenta, and violet mustard. For dessert, we shared the orchard Meyer lemon tart with blueberry compote and wildflower honey and lavender Chantilly. The food was a strong A-, but not worth the money or the sub-par experience. Unless you're staying on property, avoid The Stonehouse.

Our total was about $53 for the avocado toast with add-ons, potatoes, cold brew, water and tip. I'm glad we shared because that felt pretty steep for one breakfast! From the atmosphere and accommodations to the amenities, our experience was absolutely top-notch. What truly made our stay unforgettable was your exceptional staff. Every person we encountered went above and beyond: - Costa Kitchen & Bar: - Evening drinks with Matt at the bar were fantastic--he is an absolute gem. A special thank you to Patricia, the Food & Beverage Manager, who greeted us in the evening and was wonderful. - In the mornings, it was a highlight to chat with George (Jorge), the F&B Director, as he made his rounds to greet guests at every table. We looked forward to speaking with him every day! - Morning Dining Team: Eric and Pedro provided stellar service at breakfast, and Emma at the host stand greeted us with warmth and kindness every single morning. - Valet Team: Derek and Jack were incredible--always friendly, quick to assist with our car, and super helpful when setting us up with the complimentary bikes. - Front Desk & Housekeeping: Jesus at the front desk was genuinely friendly, considerate, and the perfect welcoming face upon arrival. We also loved how warm and welcoming all the housekeeping staff were whenever we passed them in the halls. We enjoyed walking across the street to visit East beach, and also enjoyed your onsite pool, Jacuzzi, and the lovely outdoor sitting areas. The building we stayed in was fantastic, Santa Maria, and the food at Costa was excellent throughout our visit. If we could offer two small pieces of constructive feedback to make a great place even better: 1. Morning Coffee: Having complimentary coffee available starting at 6:00 AM, instead of 7:00 AM, would be a huge plus! I noticed every morning (along with myself) that many guests are up and ready for an earlier cup of coffee. 2. Hallway Flooring: The carpet in the hallway between the front desk and the pool is looking pretty worn down. Transitioning that space to a stone tile floor would elevate the aesthetic and hold up much better against pool traffic. We also love that your hotel is listed with Costco Travel now and loved our Costco executive perks offered at your hotel! These perks were outstanding with the complimentary breakfast from your scrumptious Costa restaurant menu and 50% off the valet fee. Overall, Mar Monte Hotel is a superb establishment. Thank you all for making our trip to Santa Barbara so memorable. We cannot wait to return! Warmest regards, Zabrina Tipton

The upper village retains a very casual, not trying to impress atmosphere of old Montecito. The staff is always friendly, one lady has been working here the whole time I've been a customer, I think over 20 years ! Even though it's busy, it's manageable. There are tables and seats across the parking lot in the park area which is very nice. I had the curry chicken wrap, it's good. The club wrap was kind of bland, so wouldn't order that again. I appreciate all the specialty items. Coffee drinks are good, and I'm happy they carry the unsweetened Yerba Mate.

I got a card as well, went up and paid, & left. Yesterday when I went in a lady in the back told me the smoothie wasn't paid for. I was confused and checked my statement and gladly paid for it as the day before it appeared I was only charged for the card (not my mistake). When I went in this morning, the older lady who is usually pretty nice said to me with a few people around, "you need to pay this time". I thought that was pretty petty and unprofessional to say in front of other customers as well. Again I have been coming here for months and have spent well over $1,500 here in the last half year or so. After today I think that may change as it just isn't right to address something like that when it was a workers mistake not charging me correctly the first time around.
