Bree'osh is a cute bakery in Montecito to stop at for some baked goods and drinks! Really friendly staff who gave us bogo on pastries in the last hour of being open for the day! Win for both of us! We gobbled up their remaining goods of the morning and got a great deal. Their grains are all from France, specializing in sourdough and hand making all their pastries. We tried the Almond Croissant and a fruit cookie which were both good. The standout is their Kouign Amann ($5.50) which you can't find everywhere! The owner of this bakery is actually from Brittany, France - the town this little delight was created in. Dominique Ansel made me fall in love with these flaky treats, and Bree'osh does the kouign amann quite well. If you've never had one before, it's similar to a croissant with brown sugar folded into a very buttery and delicious mold. Also had a solid cold brew coffee. With a few seats inside and outside on the cute outdoor sidewalk, Bree'osh is a fabulous place for a morning stop. read more

Great service from the folks here. Worth noting it's always in takeout containers no matter that you're eating on site. Consistency in Montecito recently on their avocado toast and BLT has been just OK. It's been a little bit more consistent at the other location. They did just raise. Their price is probably a reflection of the increasing cost. All that said they have wonderful baguettes and great food and they're got wonderful service. **September 2025: Sunday Morning Visit** My friend and I knew that we had to end our Santa Barbara getaway on a high note so we needed to pick a breakfast spot that would fill our tummies with deliciosu noms and our minds with fantastic memories. Bree'osh - Montecito was that spot. I remembered that the Brioche Breakfast Sandwich ($13.50) was heavenly and on this return visit it was just as good as I remembered it. The soft scrambled egg was light and airy, but the sando wasn't too eggy as the caramelized onions and arugula gave it some sweetness and a little big of spice. If I were to dream of the perfect breakfast sando this would be it. Visiting Bree-osh - Montecito was a good call. If I was closer I would definitely be a regular here. read more

Stopped here for a quick breakfast on the way into Solvang. The pictures live up to the taste. Amazing! Got here right before 10am on Saturday and was able to find free street parking. Ordered at the service counter just a couple of sandwiches. The croissant sandwich with bacon. It was thick cut bacon with a beautiful poached egg I thought would be a messy eat but managed. The croissant looked almost too beautiful to eat. Crispy, buttery, flakey, everything a croissant should be. My bf got the Brioche breakfast sandwich with bacon which looked picture perfect. Only patio seating, was able to have my pup chill in her stroller while we ate. Didn't order coffee (we stopped at coffee bean before we got here) They brought our food out fairly quick. The good: This place is a winner. The pastries here were phenomenal. They were the amongst the best I've ever had! I got the morning cinnamon roll, pain suiss chocolat, and the chocolate almond croissant. I don't know why pain au chocolat and almond croissants are usually 2 separate things but here they were combined into one pastry and of course it is as delicious as it sounds. The pain suiss was my favorite because it had a delectably crunchy and fine texture from all of the small striations on the pastry. The display for the pastries was small and didn't seem like there was an impressive spread but everything was a hit and I am sure all of the other pastries were delicious as well. They had savory menu items too. The bad: The interior is small and there are only a few high chairs. No indoor dining, but there's a few tables in front patio for you to sit and eat. Parking is street only. Their pastries and baked items are all so inviting, but their brioche sandwiches are something else. We ordered a couple of bree'osh eggs sandwiches, mine with smoked salmon ($5 extra). Everything about the sandwich was perfect and we killed it. Brioche is silky soft, eggs perfectly scrambled and fluffy. Carmelized onions and arugula works nicely. Amazing service and food! We got the ham and cheese croissant and breakfast sandwich. There were tons of ham and cheese in this warm and flaky croissant. I forgot there was an egg inside and it exploded all over my sleeve but no complaints! It was the perfect runny texture. This was enough of a breakfast to fuel me on a hike. My bf ordered the ham, egg & cheese croissant, and he was blown away. He literally said it was the best croissant he's ever had even better than ones we've had in Italy. Buttery, flakey, and just the right amount of savory total showstopper. Just a heads-up: this isn't a full sit-down restaurant. It's a tiny café where you order at the counter and everything is served in to-go containers. There are a couple of tables inside and outside if you want to eat there, but also no restroom on-site (bummer) so plan accordingly. The vibe is still warm and welcoming, and the food quality speaks for itself. I had been here once before very quickly to grab a cup of coffee but on this stop I took my time to look around and pick delicious baked goods to enjoy with my cold brew. The location is convenient, the coffee shop is cute with some indoor and mostly outdoor seating. My husband and I bought ham and cheese croissant, a brioche almond tart, a cinnamon and sugar brioche morning bun. So many yummy options so hard to choose. We also got coffee and enjoyed a few minute break on their patio. Everything was fresh and delicious. They also have sandwiches, toasts and more. It's a great spot to have breakfast or lunch. This was our last food stop on what had been a wonderful 3 day food tour of Santa Barbara. I picked Bree'osh because the reviews were high, the pictures looked tasty and it was on the way back south, to LA. I knew the prices would be high because of the area, but I was not expecting to spend 19 dollars on a sandwich. I opted for just a coffee because I had a bag of breads from Oat bakery in the car that sounded much better. My husband pointed to what looked like a breakfast Danish, with egg and bacon baked inside. She placed the one he pointed to in the bag and that was all. My husband looked rather confused and in the car confessed he thought it would come toasted or warmed up. We pulled out to continue the journey home, 5 mins into the ride he took his first bite he spat out and yelled in disgust. The cold egg in the middle tasted spoiled. We spent 15 bucks for 2 mediocre coffees and a spoiled breakfast pastry. Go somewhere else. SPUNDNUTS on state street is wonderful for breakfast sandwiches and the owners are delightful. His name is Rueben. He was so kind to my little family. Already telling us what would be delicious to try. From the chia pudding to the sandwiches to the fresh baked goods. We ended up getting an almond cake pastry, a chocolate crossaint, and the artichoke tomato goat cheese sandwich. They were all delicious from first bite to last. They have a beautiful quiet peaceful patio on this cute little strip of shops. We're from LA, so anything nice like this is beautiful to see. Totally appreciate restaurants that focus on doing a handful of things really well as opposed to having a dictionary like menu. Bree'osh appears to be one of those places. Comfortable saying this because a friend and I had things off their menu and I liked them all. Parking. If you know the area, then you'll know that if it's busy, which when my friend and I went, wasn't. Street parking. Almost in front. I saw a few lots but I don't know if their free or not. Nor what the restrictions are, if any. It's not really a restaurant in the terms of being seated and be served. Service is still excellent but know that you'll walk in, order then either take it to go, or find outdoor seating. We sat indoors, Counter. Staff was friendly and keeping busy as business was steady from the time we came, and when we left. We split a Brioche Breakfast Sandwich. And I'll say that after I took the first bite, the mix of ingredients just worked for me. And it shocked the hell out of me that I enjoyed it so much not having meat in it. Eggs, cheese, caramelized onions, arugula and their special sauce. We both enjoyed it to the point we plan on coming back but getting a whole sandwich each. We're both piggies like that. I stopped by here with my BFF for brunch on our way to Santa Barbara. They have an amazing selection of pastries and the food there is fantastic! We ordered the Brioche Breakfast Sandwich, the Avocado Tartine, and a selection of pastries to try. The bread they used for the entrees were so good, the ingredients of everything just went together well, and the pastries were devine! The croissants were buttery and flaky, the almond filling of the croissant was perfect. The matcha cream in the donut was tasty and not too sweet. The lavender latte was also very good. I have no complaints about the food. The service we had was the only thing that could be improved. The cashier was less than friendly and seemed annoyed that I asked what kind of pastries they had in the window. I mean, if there were signs for them, then I won't have to ask. But they don't, so please don't be mad at me. I also asked if she had any recommendations on their coffee drinks, and she said that she didn't drink coffee so she didn't. OK, at least she's honest, but her response and attitude just gave off a rude vibe. I enjoyed the pastries so much that I came back the next day around noon to pick up a bunch more to bring home, but unfortunately most of it ran out and I didn't get everything I was hoping for. But what I did get was yummy! They also have granola, and different kinds of breads available for sale on different days (Gluten Free bread available on Wednesdays). My visit this morning was a little challenged but I would probably try it again here's what it was; it's a cute little casual dining spot there is little interior seating it's mostly all outside on the patio and it seems like the type of place where a lot of regulars who live in the area come down and get something to eat right quick. Once I *finally* got it and got it prepared the way I wanted it to be prepared - my breakfast sandwich was absolutely delicious. The brioche was fresh and soft and the eggs were nicely seasoned and cooked the way I asked etc. etc. But my visit was not without challenge. I got my latte right away and I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was so that was delightful. But then I had a very long wait to get my breakfast sandwich. People who came in after me were getting their own before me which is never a good thing. My wait was so long and I was just standing there that eventually the young lady who had helped me at the counter came out and asked me what I was waiting for. But then when I got the sandwich, the eggs weren't prepared properly. I was wondering if there was an issue when I placed my order because I kept saying scrambled hard - as opposed to the scrambled soft the way the sandwich is described in the menu - and she kept saying over hard. And I repeated myself again scrambled hard because I don't like any yolk I need that egg dry dry dry I don't want any wet or any yolk. Of course it came over hard which is disgusting (for me). So they had to remake it and so I had to wait some more and then finally get my sandwich. But then like I said once they finally got everything together it was delicious. I'd be willing to try it again but first of all let's prepare things with the way people actually ask and then second and really more importantly they need to just take people first come first serve. Very small cafe that offers a wide variety of breakfast goods, along with different types of drinks. Mmm délicieux! Bree'osh (great name) is situated along Coast Village Road, a half mile walk from Butterfly Beach. Parking is generally easy, although I'm only here weekdays before 8AM. About a dozen spots out in front, and a dozen more in the surface lot. There are tables outside with bright yellow umbrellas for shade. The inside of the bakery has a couple of counter-high chairs by the window. This location mostly uses takeout containers, so if you're more interested in ambiance and presentation, their De La Vina Street location has more indoor seating and they use tableware for dine-in. Their bread and pastry menu has all the carbs you can dream of. Challah, ciabatta, country loaves, chouquettes, baguettes, cinnamon rolls, Kouign-amanns, croissants, the list goes on. And you can't forget the brioche! You can get a large sourdough brioche loaf, a smaller brioche bun, or special brioche rolls adorned with almonds or sugar. All are heavenly! Occasionally I'll grab a vanilla latte before work, which always comes with the right amount of foam and flavor. And their croissants are flakey, buttery goodness! The arugula complemented the ham and cheese perfectly. My other half had the croque monsieur and he said that it was the best one he's had in a long time.
