Milo is one of the best waiters we found in Santa Barbara. I believe he's only there on Sunday and Monday or Monday and Tuesday. He works at the SY ranch as a food runner when he is not there. He grew up in the industry as his family had a wonderful restaurant. We've always loved this restaurant, especially when they have the chanterelles in season. It feels like a true local warm Italian eatery. We like to sit outside in the covered patio with the heaters. Recently needed a true Italian lunch, so only one place that I find in SB that offers that. Relaxing ambience with the patina of an old trattoria, cool inside and like stepping into Veneto itself. I ordered the simple spaghetti with tomatoes and basil, deceiving in its simplicity because all the ingredients must be quality. The perfect flourish of pasta cooked al dente, fresh summer tomatoes and garlic, little salt and a sprig of basil, and a drizzle if good olive oil. Restorative to the soul on a hot day, I indulged in an aperotivo of prosecco, then a decent local syrah. The service was perfect for me, enough time to slowly enjoy my meal. Like some reviews say, the service needs work on but overall good food! They have tons of options on their menu and can do Gluten free pasta but i'm not sure if it's a full gluten free dish or just the pasta. The place was dim but not too dark just right for a date night I also thought that it's in a very quiet spot during the night. Didn't try the desserts but I saw many people getting them! The owner is incredibly hospitable and cares about his customers and employees. It shows. I showed up with my wife, child, and small service dog. He was gracious. He offered us glasses of wine while we waited. The owner provided a larger table for the stroller outside and the service was great. We ordered the lamb chops, beet & tomato salad, an Italian beer, and a pasta dish. Food was great, service was timely, and atmosphere friendly. The best part of our experience was the waitress (Melissa) which is why they got the 2nd star. Food was ok...nothing special. I can make better food than this restaurant served. The flavor was lacking for sure. The male who appeared to be the owner was extremely rude and was definitely not welcoming. It's like he didn't want our money. We came in as walk-ins and he instantly gave us attitude and made us feel as though we don't belong. It became crowded (for some unknown reason) and the space was super tight. We moved our table a little (more than once) to make room for people to walk past us. Overall it was a horrible experience that we will not relive....it looks like the owner got his wish. Horrid service. Good food. Not worth it at all. Young hostess with dark hair was the rudest person I have ever encountered at a restaurant. I watched her demeanor with everyone else and she is just not a nice person. Worst experience I've had at a restaurant and I've been to many. They will treat you like trash if you aren't old rich looking folks. The servers were cold and rude with us, clearly favored the other tables with wealthier older looking folks, as we are a younger couple who is local. Owner seemed to know most older regulars and couldn't be bothered with people he was unfamiliar with. Also the patio just sucks, chairs are so uncomfortable to sit in and I couldn't move my chair at all because the person dining behind me was basically touching my chair. Ordered the Cacio E Pepe and it was actually really good 10/10, but I would NEVER pay to be treated like that again. We have had many better experiences at Ca Dario and Tre Lune. Don't bother with this sad establishment unless your net worth is over $10 million or you're pulling up in a Lamborghini. read more

Outstanding! *Squid ink pasta with little scallops was on the dry side for me. Flavorful but felt like a tannic wine sucking all the moisture out of my face. They certainly use fine ingredients which is so hard to find. We do not eat anything from a package or eat any bad oils so this find for us, is a big win. It was our wedding anniversary and we were very excited for a nice dinner out with my mother. Well don't sit in Melissa's section if you are not a regular. You will be the ignored table. This beautiful place is hidden so you can't really notice that there was a place like Pane E Vino in a small village of montecito. Italian cuisine they cooked their food with culture. I have tried Penne Rigate Alla Siciliana Pasta tubes with fresh tuna, lightly spicy tomato sauce, capers and garlic.... with a red blend to complete my meal.
