I grew up going here in high school with my family and college once I lived here on my own. This is a classic staple that I have very fond memories of. This review is only from my most recent experience not my many years of wonderful meals and experiences. I ordered my traditional mushroom Marsala ravioli. To say it was a disappointment is an understatement. It was plain cheese ravioli, not one mushroom in sight and absolutely no Marsala in the cream sauce. It was just pure unseasoned cream poured on top. Our salad had a fly in it and when brought up I was questioned if I wasn't sure it was just pepper. There were dirty tarps covering tables and chairs that had been sitting there for who knows how long. I know they are closing in 2 weeks but it was such a sad disappointing experience. I wish the lady/manager/owner success in her future endeavors. She herself is a super sweet lady and I hope she can figure it out. read more

Sadly was not very impressed with our visit here. When you walk inside it seems like it'll be really good since it's a grand hall with Italian vibe and decor. There was only one waitress serving the whole restaurant and there were many tables, so this made service pretty slow. She was very nice but it just took too long since she was managing so much at once. We got the phyllo triangles for appetizer, which were just okay because the cheese was entirely too potent and felt really strong to eat. We got the bellagio chicken pasta, pasta pascucci, and Genoa. Some of the ravioli were uncooked, and the chicken was supposed to come in a bow tie shape but came as penne and also was doused in oil. When we asked for a mocha coffee, they didn't have any. We loved the atmosphere here. The decor was unique to it, which we appreciate! The food was delicious, but recommend going earlier as what we wanted to order was already sold out. The staff was really nice but the only reason I'm giving four instead of five stars is because we had to wait over 25 minutes from sitting down to give our drink order, so we also gave our food order at the same time. It seemed to only have two staff members working the dining area and it wasn't very busy, so we were a bit disappointed at how long the wait was to get our order taken. There were also several fruit flies that were dining with us (we are hoping it's because the wine was good haha). I overall recommend this restaurant at least once if you're looking for great Italian food. read more

Came here for burger week for round 4... The menu swayed me to their lunch special. I ended up getting the ravioli sampler while the wife got the burger week burger. The ice tea here is super delicious and we had many refills! They do offer garlic bread with real garlic. The burger week burger is a generous size and my favorite of the day. You can taste the charbroil flavor! Wife was offered bbq, terayaki, ketchup and mustard but ended up using just the ketchup and mustard. My ravioli sampler was nice for an indecisive person like me. It allowed me to try a small piece of each ravioli so I didn't get flavor fatigued. The texture of the ravoli was nice and bouncy. I believe they are going to close soon. I recently enjoyed a lunch here and am never disappointed with my meal at Pascucci's! Everything they prepare is delicious. From the garlic bread to start the meal and the section of entrees- you will find something for everyone here. Being that it was lunch, I opted for something lighter to keep me going during the work day. The Mediterranean salad with chicken is so good! I love the salad dressing and the incorporation of bell peppers and olives add the perfect touch. This spot is always a hit! After avoiding downtown since State Street closed, my girlfriend chose Pascucci for her birthday lunch today. I'd begrudgingly agreed, but I have to say I am so glad I honored her choice!!! From being greeted with a smile by the owner, Laura til we left, the visit was a delight. I had the most fabulous Arnold Palmer ever because the owner sources locally. I wondered why it was so good and that made sense. The Caesar salad was 10 out of 10 - it was beyond fantastic, and the ravioli sampler was equally as great. The chef fine tuned mine to vegetarian, which I really appreciated. The famous garlic bread didn't disappoint! Yummy as ever!!! And to top it all off, the bday girl was sung a very pleasant Happy Birthday song along with complementary yummy chocolate out of this world something. It was a memorable celebration. We've been coming to Pascucci's for years, all three different locations. So glad we were able to visit again before they close. The melted Brie, Puttanesca, Palermo, and Bellagio to name a few are nostalgic and brings back memories of having to wait in line because they were so packed. We had many birthday celebrations, drinks at the bar and even swayed to live musicians playing. I don't know what happened the last few years, maybe Covid and State St. shutting down were culprits. The last three visits showed less and less patrons. Hoping the owner takes much needed time off before relaunching. We look forward to seeing what you have in store. I got the Santa Margherita panini with Caesar salad. I really liked the Caesar salad--sauce wasn't heavy and there was a good amount of cheese. The panini itself was fluffy and soft. The pesto and basil flavor was really nice. The veggies were fresh too. I didn't think I would like this dish as much as I did! As for the other stuff, they do have free garlic bread, but it's quite bland. The lighting is really dim and reminds me of the lighting in Cheesecake Factory. Okay, so this is one of those hidden gems. The wife and I came into Pascucci for some Italian food and we were taken by surprise with the size of the restaurant, the atmosphere of the restaurant, the dinning equipment, the food and options of deliciousness. I ordered hot tea, which they bring out a variety of teas for you to pick, mix and have the strength be strong. Their cold tea is a strong and flavorful. Okay now to the best part, my wife ordered a plate that had salmon and butternut squash raviolis. Her meal melted in your mouth, it was cooked just perfect. My meal was a chicken piccata, the chicken was so flavorful and delicious that I was in love at first bit. I have been a customer long enough to have followed this place through three different locations, which unfortunately means I have watched it steadily lose whatever made it good. The sandwich was almost impressive in how little effort went into it. The lighting was so harsh it felt more like an interrogation room than a place to enjoy a meal. The space looks unfinished, as if opening day happened halfway through construction and no one ever circled back. There was no music until the owner eventually played something from her cell phone, which really completed the "we gave up" vibe. I kept coming back over the years because this place used to earn it. This visit made it clear those days are over. The food is careless, the environment is uncomfortable, and the overall experience feels slapped together. The service was absolutely awful. We waited 25 minutes for our drink order then another hour and a half for our food. The waitresses were nice but there were only 2 for the entire place and maybe 7 tables taken. The food was pretty good. We tried the fettuccine alfredo, chicken picatta, and spaghetti with marinara. All were pretty good. Alfredo tastes like it is missing some flavor though. The bread though is a 10/10. Overall, the food is good if you're willing to wait a long time. read more

Apparently I went here in 2009. When I was recently in Santa Barbara, a friend who used to live here told me I HAD to go here as it was one of her favorite spots. Went for dinner... there was a wait, but it was as long as they'd told us and they managed the line well. Sadly, after that, our experience went downhill. Service was slow and they seemed understaffed. It took a while to be able to order and a while for our food. My food was good, but not great. I had the chicken parm and the serving was so large that I took half home and had for dinner the next night. My friend who recommended it had a similar experience at lunch the next day. Apparently, this spot has been here for decades and the food is good... I just hope they fix the service so it can live up to the potential it has. We went to Santa Barbara for my husband's birthday and our favorite restaurant was closed for renovation. We were in the mood for Italian and stopped into Pascucci. The place was empty and there was no one to seat us. Why we didn't turn around right then I'll never know. Finally a server appeared and told us to sit anywhere. When she brought the bottles of olive oil and vinegar they were incredibly dirty and sticky. I ordered the spaghetti bolognese and my husband ordered a vegetable ravioli with marinara sauce. The spaghetti took me back to my school days and the almost inedible food they served. Pasta was soft and sauce tasted like it was out of a bottle. Pascucci is a nice Italian restaurant located in downtown Santa Barbara on state street. I first came in 2016, and I remember it was one of the best experiences I had at that time. However, times have definitely changed as the first thing I noticed was the location. Although it looks extremely similar to the original, it is noticeably smaller, and my favorite fireplace seats are no longer present. The food is also not as good as it was previously, and they definitely seemed a little understaffed as I watched our waitress struggle with taking care of nearly the entire front area. Our first order of house bread came out a little cold, but the second one came out nice and toasty, so it seems like there's some consistency issues. However the gnocchi that we ordered ended up tasting pretty good! Overall, I think this place has definitely become significantly less consistent than it used to be. However, I think it is still a good date night spot and will be coming back to see if it was a one off issue. read more

Overall, the food is edible and of reasonable value, but not particularly great. (Lemonade: 92.5% | A) - The fresh lemonade is rather cute; it reminds me of old fashioned lemonade and nothing more, which is a nice rustic throwback. The drink does have potential to be elevated, but is pretty good as is. (Garlic Bread: 82.5% | B) - This is the first restaurant I've seen provide free cheesy garlic bread, which is super unique. In terms of the actual bread, I think it is under toasted and the garlic flavor can be more pronounced. (Spaghetti Bolognese: 72.5% | C) - This is a classic bolognese with meatballs; I found some of the meatballs to be very tender (and pink.. so perhaps undercooked) but others to be as hard as a baseball. The sauce and the pasta were not tossed together and the separation makes it less tasty, even when you mix it together yourself. Came here on a sunny Saturday afternoon and was very pleased that they had outdoor seating (with shade)! The person who got us seated was extremely friendly - service was great! You get a basket of bread and it's not just any bread- it's garlic bread! It was so good. We ordered the appetizer sampler, definitely recommend - the shrimp was my favorite, so tasty. I had the chicken Parmesan with fettuccine Alfredo as my entree - the fettuccine could have used just a tad bit more salt but other than that the dish was delicious. I was so excited to return to my favorite restaurant, Pascucci's, in Santa Barbara! It has been about 4 years since we were last here. We arrived at 4:30 PM on Wednesday during a heat wave. We asked to be seated where there is air conditioning. There wasn't any so we chose the outdoor patio. I ordered the Godfather Margarita and an ice water. Hubby ordered Tangerine juice & an ice water. We received the margarita and the juice within 5 minutes. I asked Juvencio about the waters. He said they were coming right up. I took a couple of sips of my margarita. It was really strong. YAY. However, outside was in the upper 80's. I really needed that water. I continued to look at him hoping he would come over so I could ask again about the waters. I stood and was approaching him. He headed my way and said, Yes?? I said I really need the waters. Ok. I finally got the water with little ice. I drank it and asked him for a water refill with lots of ice. He delivered it shortly thereafter. My advice is during a heat wave, perhaps leave a pitcher of water on each table. I ordered the Cortina. It is a cream based sauce that has artichoke hearts, chicken, and sundried tomatoes over spinach fettucine. Hubby ordered the Meatball Sandwich. After the orders arrived our server, Juvencio, took a long time to check on us. I didn't care for my meal. It lacked salt and or seasonings. There was a massive amount of fettucine in relation to the tiny amount of chicken, artichoke hearts, sun-dried tomatoes and sauce. I was hungry during this wait for the waiter. I picked out the artichoke hearts and ate them. They were yummy. The chicken was SO BLAND. Finally, Juvencio came to the table and asked how we were doing. I said it was bland. (I had only taken a very small bite of the pasta. My plate was still full. My husband was nearly done with his.) And then there was a really long awkward pause. I felt embarrassed that he didn't say something that was helpful nor offer to take it back to the chef/cook. Crickets. Silence. So I said please bring me boxes and another Margarita. By the way, shouldn't spinach fettucine be green? The pasta was meh. I would rate this as a 2 star experience. I am promoting it to 3 stars as I will give them another chance. After a very busy day with lots of walking (13,091 steps, 5.95 miles, 3 flights of stairs), I decided to cancel out all the calories I burned and order pasta take-out for dinner. To somewhat make up for it, I chose to go to Pascucci because it's walking distance from the office. They are located on State Street, next to Galanga Thai Restaurant. This portion of the road was still closed to vehicle traffic when I visited. Parking is available on nearby streets or Public Lot 11. There's some patio seating outside, a good amount of tables inside, and a bar that can hold about six patrons. On the menu you'll find a wide range of soups, salads, sandwiches, risottos, pizzas, pastas, appetizers, specialty dishes, wines, and more. Gluten-free brown rice pasta and gluten-free pizza crusts are both an additional $1 each. I heard a lot of good things about their complimentary garlic cheese bread, but I didn't really find it all that special. Very light on the seasoning and kind of just dough-y. Good thing it doesn't cost anything. I liked the fettuccine, each flat strand had a good springy texture. The alfredo sauce coated all the noodles very nicely, albeit slightly watery. I added chicken, which was a bit skimpy for the price. No complaints on taste. Simple and does the job! read more

I wouldn't recommend dining here. My boyfriend and I went for dinner last Sunday, and from the moment we arrived, the experience was uncomfortable. Despite the restaurant being nearly empty (only two tables occupied), no one greeted us or acknowledged our presence. The server--who I believe may be the owner--made eye contact with us but didn't say a word. I had to grab a menu myself and approach them to ask if they were open and whether we should seat ourselves. We tried to stay positive and seated ourselves, but the service never improved. It felt like we were being deliberately ignored. What made the situation worse was witnessing how differently other customers (specifically white patrons) were treated. The same server who barely acknowledged us was suddenly warm, welcoming, and quick to assist them as they walked in. The food was okay, but the service and the clear display of bias overshadowed everything. The microaggressions and lack of basic hospitality made us so uncomfortable that we skipped dessert just to leave sooner. Santa Barbara has many excellent Italian restaurants--this, unfortunately, isn't one of them. If you value respectful service and a welcoming atmosphere, I suggest going elsewhere. read more
