Bottom Line: an awesome little local spot I grew up in Santa Barbara and have no idea how I happened to miss this place for so many years. Recently, some work, friends of mine took me here for lunch, and I was kind of blown away at first of all how I've never heard of this place and second of all how good it was. I was also blown away to find out how many people I know have worked here, which sounds like at least a half a dozen, so not only is the food good but they seem to be open to giving people a chance at their first job. Love the patio too, it's got a really neat chill vibe The people are cool, the pizza is fantastic, the breadsticks are amazing... What's there to know? I've have been coming to Taffy's since I was a teenager and brought my son here , Now I'm bringing my Granddaughters. The Tri-tip and Turkey sandwiches are so good with the bread sticks and dry rub chicken wings are our go too and pizza ! great food and great service!!! I highly recommend ! My coworker placed a big order for a luncheon we were having. She placed it shortly after they opened at 11 to be delivered around 11:40.. 12pm comes around and nothing. My partner and I were walking the dog, minding our own business, when we accidentally tripped and fell into Taffy's. Next thing we knew, we were eating the best gluten-free pepperoni pizza in town and a chef's salad big enough to qualify as a roommate. The food was so good, even the dog looked offended he didn't get a bite. We left with enough leftovers to feed a small army--or at least three very enthusiastic snackers. Came here today with four families for lunch. Online says they were open. No closed sign on the door. Waited ten minutes and no one opened the place. Knocked on the door and tried calling and no response. So frustrating that no one updated the hours online or told us it was closed. There was even staff in the kitchen that we saw thru the windows. I used to live in the Cottage Hospital area & Taffy's was a favorite for delivering their wonderful meals. I've recently rediscovered Taffy's and am happy to drive the 5+ miles for one of their pizzas! Also they make the BEST veggie salad! It's a great compliment to their pizza. I travel to SB relatively often for work and I always try to find a new local place or two to try when I'm in town. This weekend, it's Taffy's! Let me tell you, I'm putting Taffy's on my short list for a return visit. Is this fancy Neapolitan style pizza? No. Is this hawked by a tiny Roman cartoon? Again, no. Taffy's is EXACTLY what you'd expect from a pizza shop that you go to after playing a little league game in the hot spring sun. It's a little old, a little dark but the food is great and the people are stars! I ordered online and from the time I placed my order to picking up, it was less than 15 mins. How can you go wrong with service like that? I ordered a 12" pizza with pepperoni, jalapeños and mushrooms and a side salad. The crust was well cooked, had a nice chew, the red sauce was sweet enough but still deliciously savory and the toppings were generous! The salad was a huge portion (which, I appreciate because it's secretly my favorite thing!) All in all, I was very happy with my experience and my food. If you're in town, give it a shot! read more

Taffys has been around ever since I can remember, and that's a long time! The restaurant is in a more residential area, and feels like a large old house inside, with indoor seating plus a beautiful courtyard/patio area. Phone orders are very easy - I mostly do pickups. I love the lightness of their pizza. It never feels heavy - the sauce is simple tomato and not overly thick and heavy, same with the cheese and toppings. Everything is very fresh tasting. The crust is thin with a homestyle quality to it. Salads are great and even the regular is enough for 3-4 people. I love the ceasar. They also have a good drink/beer selection. On the downside, only one (very nice) cashier. When it gets busy, you can wait a while just to for the pickup. Crust can be variable - sometimes has a nice yeasty chew that I like, on the last visit, it was more firm and brittle (less chewy?). Great, fun old school local pizza parlour that will not dissapoint. read more

The food was actually really good. I usually don't like buffalo sauce, but the pizza tasted pretty good and the pesto breadsticks were also soooo cheesy and good. They have both ranch and marinara sauce on the side without me having to ask for it so I appreciated that. The food did take some time to come out but a pretty normal amount of time for pizza. The proprietor was so gracious and gave our party some free bread sticks with marinara sauce. The bread sticks were so light and crispy at the same time. Highly recommend. The pizza was very good. We love, love, love Taffy's! We've had almost everything on the menu and have enjoyed every bite. There's no doubt about it that Taffy's is our favorite pizza in town, but we also love the great beer selection, bread sticks, salads, pastas and sandwiches. They have a HUGE selection of pizza breads, veggies toppings, cheeses and meats. Because they have such a variety of toppings, their sandwiches, salads, etc. have a great selection of toppings too. I called and accidentally asked to order an antipasto salad, not realizing that they don't even have an antipasto salad on the menu. However, they have such amazing customer service, that they assured me they have everything to make a great antipasto salad delivered to my house. And they were right!! It was incredible. AND free delivery, but call early to place your order. It can take a little while depending on when you call. So worth it for free delivery!! Pre-Covid times, they offered fun events like trivia on their large, private outdoor patio. I hope they can start that up again soon. Yeah, I'm a pineapple on pizza person :) I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and it has become a regular for me. The meatballs taste like it was made by somebody's grandmother. They're soooo good. Tried Taffy's for the first time after seeing a coupon in sbaxxess "50% off 1st pizza ordered". The pizza itself- ok. Decent sauce, kinda tangy. That tangy sauce (and the smaller size) is about the only difference in taste between Taffy's and the food court membership place in Goleta. Their ranch is good, comparable to the other pizza place in town that ends in y's. The only bright spot of my purchase from Taffy's. Main gripe- I ordered 1 large 1 topping, 1 small 1 topping. Again, 50% off 1st pizza ordered. Guess which size pizza got the discount... I went in to ask why only the small received the discount and the man working stated I misunderstood the axxess coupon, and should read it again. You too, can read it attached to this review. Secondary gripe-they have a default tip system. 15% of the total with tax. For takeout. Will not be going back, nor would I recommend it or bring out of towners. Found this hidden gem in Santa Barbara. Very Welcoming as we walked through the door. Ordered the "Foghorn Leghorn" large pizza. (BBQ Chicken, red onions, cilantro, and mozzarella!) YUMILICIOUS!! I saw that they had an Axxess deal so I decided to try it for the first time. As soon as I said I'd be using the Axxess deal (50% off first pizza), the person working's demeanor became visibly angry. He told me he he usually doesn't charge for ranch but would be charging me. That's cool, but say so nicely? Some restaurants need to know that: 1) you choose to have an Axxess deal 2) some customers actually do tip on the original amount (or more because they are happy to be getting a good deal). 3) One of the points of offering deals in general is to get people to try your food for the first time so they hopefully come back.
