    Wine recommendations were spot on!
    Leah K.

Tucked just off State Street near the Funk Zone, this laid-back, hole-in-the-wall-style tasting room was such a fun surprise. The owner's wit and banter had us laughing all afternoon, but he struck the perfect balance of giving our party of four space to enjoy our chats too. We originally stopped in just to escape the heat with one glass, but his wine recommendations were spot on--we stayed for several rounds! Tried the whites, sparkling rosé, and even a few beers... everything was fantastic. Note to owner: Love the idea of the corner seating area with games, but they're a bit dated. A few newer options--both adult-humor and family-friendly--might make folks linger even longer.

When visiting Santa Barbara this past weekend, our hotel gave us a card to get a buy 1 get 1 wine tasting as well as 10% off any other purchases. With that, we headed over there right after exploring Stearn's Wharf around 6PM but unfortunately, we missed the tasting period as they stop at 5PM. Despite missing the tasting, we decided to stay as there was live music, the ambiance was fun and the staff was really friendly. Jasmine was the server who helped us and she was fantastic! Not only was she friendly, but she was very helpful in our decision of which bottle to order. Based on our preferences we mentioned, she suggested the Y3 and it was perfect! This is a great place to make new friends who also enjoy wine and a good time but also a great to go for a little date night! We'd definitely come back if visiting again - so fun!

Maria was so kind and helpful! She was great company and was very knowledgeable about all the wines. Shared the gold wine tasting flight. The Grenache blanc Bieler pere& fils la jassine was great so I decided to get a glass. There was a nice fire pit inside and the atmosphere was great and they keep the place very clean. Really enjoyed and would definitely come back.

Good place to stop for a glass of wine In Santa Barbara. Service was good. Seating available inside or on a small patio. Small bites are available. Wine selection is ok, wish it was more local instead of huge brands being carried.

Kind servers and delicious Pinot noirs! I really enjoyed my flight and especially liked the first Pinot noir in the tasting. They have a cute but small patio as well as indoor seating, and are dog friendly with water and bowls available. Great funk zone spot!

Hands down the coziest little bar I've ever been to! The vibe is super warm and chill, and the live singer is amazing -- makes every drink way more enjoyable. Tried three Napa Valley wines and they were all fantastic. The beer tasting is also fun -- you get four different beers, each with its own unique flavor. Best part? Super pet-friendly! Brought my cat and we had the most relaxing afternoon and evening here. Everyone feels like an old friend, the staff are incredibly nice and chatty, with the warmest smiles. The atmosphere is just perfect. Definitely coming back!

After catching the train to Santa Barbara for the day, this was THEE only wine bar I found to carry a sweet. Every other place made dry, tart wines. The gentleman working was very helpful with recommendations. My new favorite: Saracco Moscato d'Asti. This place also has live music and got packed by early evening.

We wandered in after peaking into a few other tasting rooms that seemed way too snooty for our laid back wine style. What a find! Great reasonable flights for all tastes. The owner served us and could not have been more fun and informative! We ordered some tasty bites which were perfect as well, we found the whole afternoon perfectly charming. We left with a couple bottles of fabulous wines and memories of beautiful Santa Barbara.

We found this place after aimlessly wandering the streets of Santa Barbara one Friday morning. After a bit of deliberation, we decided to give it a go. We were initially a bit worried, since it was devoid of customers, but given the time of day (not even noon, we're such lushes) it wasn't entirely unexpected. Let me start by saying this was our favorite tasting room of the weekend. Not just because the wines are delicious, but because the service was top notch. We were greeted, the pups were loved on, and we had a couple flights each perched on the counter in front of us in short order. I started with the Gold tasting - a Pinot Grigio, a Pinot Noir and a Cabernet Franc; my husband got the Platinum tasting - two Cabernet Sauvignons and a red blend. While I enjoyed the three wines in my flight, the Cabernet Franc was the winner by far. I really enjoyed the fruity, juicy, ripe flavors, and I'm glad it was the last one I tasted in that flight. My second flight (don't judge, we *were* celebrating our anniversary, after all) was the Rose trio...not my favorite, I'm just not a fan of Roses, but I figured I'd give them a shot in case they had something that could change my mind. For the hubs, his second flight was the Diamond flight: two Cabernet Sauvignons and a Pinot Noir this time. After the Rose flight I went right back to a pour of the Cab Franc, and my husband got a pour of the Falcone Cabernet Sauvignon. We really enjoyed the venue - posted up at the counter of their patio, soaking up the sun and wind, chatting with people walking by and with the staff. We'll definitely head back to sample their updated flights on our next Santa Barbara visit.

Fun and laid back place to enjoy some wine. The service was really great and the wine was quite tasty. I enjoyed the white wine flight while my friend enjoyed the red wine flight. I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and will surely return when I'm in the area again.

Corks n Crown is a different experience than a lot of the tasting rooms in the funk zone. They have both wine and beers to choose from. The staff is always knowledgeable and provide good recommendations. There is a good sized menu so you have lots of options to choose from. The space itself is really cute. Fire places, couches, bar stools and outdoor seating. It can get crowded but if you get a seat you are in for a treat!

We missed their tasting flights by a few mins but we enjoyed a glass of rose each, my friends was on the sweeter side and mine a little more dry. They had live music, friendly staff, and a homie interior vibe with a fireplace going. Very relaxing and warm environment!

We had a series of issues from the start. Our assigned waiter was completely inattentive; he ignored our table, failed to check on us, and never brought the cheese board we ordered. We eventually had to flag down another member of the staff just to get any service at all. Even after we caught his attention, our server seemed aware of us but made no effort to approach or assist. Additionally, the wait time for our wine flights was excessively long. When the cheese board finally arrived, I was shocked to find that all three cheeses were served still inside their original plastic wrappers--not even sliced. To make matters worse, we were provided with plastic knives to cut the cheese ourselves, which was incredibly difficult and frustrating. I have never encountered a cheese board served this way at any establishment. I really wanted to enjoy this visit, and I want to give credit to the other waitresses who were working that day--they were great and were the only saving grace of the experience. However, the lack of basic service and the bizarre presentation of the food made this a trip I wouldn't recommend

This really is the perfect place for both wine AND food…read more So far we've been in a couple times sitting in the bar area and also out on their comfy patio space. Our servers Alex and Kayla were exceptional at both suggesting some delicious lunch items, and also giving a rundown on their different wine tastings. They gave us some helpful information on the assorted varietals and vintages as well. We went in specifically for their M5 and Riviera Rose, but discovered their extensive selection of other varietals and vintages. Came away with some new favorites: Sauvignon Blanc, Trois Blondes (a delicious white blend), Viognier, Mourvedre, and Estate Syrah. Perfect that they open at noon for lunch. We paired our wines with their Santa Barbara Smokehouse Salmon, Smoked Duck and Arugula Salad, Chicken Pesto Sandwich, and Sausage Mushroom & Carmelized Onion Pizza. Still so much on their menu to enjoy.

It was chilly so she tried to light the heat lamp at my request but both that one and the replacement did not work. The replacement actually had the propane disconnected so I assume someone knew that tank needed to be changed out but didn't do it. The other tables from the large party were full of wine glasses and a half eaten pizza. Those sat there for over an hour, and we watched several groups of people come but leave without being seated because no server was available yo seat them and the only open table hadn't been cleared. When it was finally cleared, one guest at a near by table commented that the pizza shouldn't go to waste. The girl who cleared the table initially carried it inside but came right back out with it and served it to that guest whose kid ate it. I'm all for not wasting food and if the guest had gotten up and grabbed the pizza himself, that would be one thing... but to serve old food that had been sitting out for a long time to a guest is a no no for a business. We otherwise enjoyed most of the wines in our tasting flight. Would've given 5 stars if service had been more timely, tables cleared and old food not served up.

In a stretch of Lower State packed with breweries, wine bars, and roaming weekend energy-drink humans in vintage bowling shirts, it threads the needle nicely between cocktail bar and tropical escape pod. The menu leans tiki-adjacent rather than deep-cut exotica, but the drinks are smartly built and avoid the "every problem can be solved with more rum" philosophy. There's a solid spread of spirits across the board, which makes the place feel more welcoming to a broader nightlife crowd instead of strictly rum disciples clutching vintage Trader Vic's mugs. The Oaxacan Dead was the standout for me. Smoky, balanced, endlessly sippable. One of those drinks where every sip quietly talks you into ordering another without turning into a sugar avalanche. The Jungle Bird was also great, though presented more in the direction of a Negroni than the punchier tropical versions you usually see. Bitter, restrained, and easy to settle into. Crowd-wise, things tilted a little frat-floaty as the night rolled on, but the staff handled everything smoothly and kept the vibe from turning into full pirate mutiny. Service stayed friendly and composed even when the volume of the room started climbing like a malfunctioning theremin. Big bonus points for the location and outdoor seating. Being right in the middle of Lower State makes it an easy launch point or final stop depending on your evening trajectory. Grab a drink, people-watch, drift between breweries and wine spots, repeat as necessary.
