Saw the rave reviews on Yelp and went to Luna's Cafe for brunch. Santa Barbara was having a heat wave, so it was a bit warm inside. It was fairly busy for a Monday and there was only one cook, so food took a while, but you could see he was busy churning plates out. Ordered Mexican breakfasts - chilaquiles for me and huevos rancheros with Chile verde for my husband. I chose the green sauce with my chilaquiles, which was quite tasty. The chile verde was good and definitely had a bit of spice to it. It came with a choice of side - beans, home fries or has browns. The breakfast entrees were a bit pricier than I expected ($18.95), but it was nice to support a little family-run place. Friendly service! I saw several tables ordering mimosas. After visiting the Santa Barbara Mission, we stopped at Luna's for brunch and had such a wonderful experience. We ordered the green chilaquiles with steak, the almond French toast, and a pancake. Everything was absolutely delicious, fresh, and full of flavor! What really made our visit stand out was the outstanding service. My wife and I recently traveled to Santa Barbara. We looked at yelp, to locate a good restaurant to have breakfast at. We found Luna's café downtown in the older portion of town. It is a small café, very friendly, friendly staff, great food, reasonably priced. It was good value for the money. The quality of the food was excellent. We liked it so much, we came back a second time on the same trip to have breakfast there again. I would highly recommend it if you're in the Santa Barbara area! read more

Small quaint location that delivered on big breakfast flavors! Staff was friendly and helpful as soon as we entered. They have all the breakfast classics on their menu and I opted for the huevos rancheros with pork chile verde and hash browns on the side. There was a solid portion of pork smothered in a flavorful sauce and my equally generous side of hash browns were crispy and satisfying. Stopped by Luna's on a Monday morning for breakfast while visiting from out of town. We were seated right away and able to have the perfect table for the two of us and our little one. We ordered the classic eggs Benedict and Huevos a La Mexicana and they were so good! The hashbrowns were honestly some of the best hashbrowns I've had, crispy, well seasoned but retained the moisture so they weren't dry. They were even kind enough to give us a few whole strawberries for our little one to munch one while we ate. Definitely will return to try more! read more

And one of them actually said, "Run, don't walk there for breakfast." So at that point I casually sauntered over and was excited to try this new cafe. And it was delightful. It's open for breakfast and lunch, serving traditional and Mexican breakfasts, plus burgers, sandwiches and salads. They open at 6:30 for early risers like me. Indoor and outdoor seating. (I added a grilled chicken breast) and they were the BEST chilaquiles I've had in SANTA BARBARA, absolutely delicious! Tortilla chips, soaked in a homemade savory mild spicy salsa with its combination of queso cotija, queso fresco , that crema drizzle. With a half of avocado thinly sliced on top. Chicken breast was grilled and remained juicy, bursting with flavor! 2 over easy eggs just made it even better! I immediately tasted the AUTHENTICITY in every bite. The SAZON keeps you smiling ear to ear in every bite. My daughters loved the fact that they did not have to ask for refills. The staff is extremely attentive and helpful. All of my family enjoyed their plates of food. Breakfast with a dash of homemade salsa. I got the pleasure to meet the owner Sr Federico. Am visiting from out of town and was intrigued by a place that had super high reviews but only just a handful of them. Turns out they are a new business so I tried this place and was not disappointed. Had the BEST chilaquiles I've tried in a long time. It comes with a red sauce but I was offered the choice of red or green, and I chose green, which is the spicier of the two and it was hot but super delicious. Service was wonderful - friendly and helpful and they even gave me a to-go cup for the excess of the large pot of tea I was served. I hope that the community steps up to support this new, small business and it turns in to a Santa Barbara hot spot! read more

We were in Santa Barbara celebrating our baby moon and stumbled on this gem, and so glad we did! Absolutely delightful breakfast diner. Delicious food and very clean. The staff were very polite and attentive. We first came on a Friday morning and it wasn't very busy and were seated right away. We ordered the huevos rancheros with beans and the pancake combo with chocolate chips. Both were delicious! We then returned the next day, Saturday morning to satisfy my wife's khalua French toast craving (their special for the day) and they too did not disappoint!!
