Tina's Pizza was a really enjoyable stop in Carpinteria. It's tucked into a small food hall with a handful of other spots, which gives it a relaxed, casual atmosphere where everyone can grab what they want and just hang out. We also caught it on a beautiful day, and being that close to the coast definitely added to the experience. I went with the Margherita pizza. It was fresh, nicely cooked, with the simple tomato, mozzarella, and basil combination you want from a Margherita. I can't say there was anything particularly unique about it or anything that made me think, I have to come back to Carpinteria specifically for this pizza, but it was still a well-made pie that I genuinely enjoyed. Food alone, I was leaning toward a 3 because it was good but nothing extraordinary. But a 3 felt a little harsh considering there really wasn't anything wrong with it. Add in the laid-back food hall setting, great weather, and being just a short distance from the coast, and the overall experience deserves some credit too. For sourdough pizza, I would say this pizza was just alright. The flavor was lacking. I didn't get the tang or the rich flavor profile you normally enjoy from sourdough. And, the toppings weren't properly seasoned. I could barely taste the mushroom. Maybe something as simple as a sprinkle of salt on top would've made the difference. The crust was super dry and burnt a bit too much for my liking. The salad was also just alright. The folks at the counter were awesome and the seating area was just perfect on a beautiful sunny day. Given all the other great food options in the area, I won't be returning to Tina's. I don't want to be so negative but I was quite disappointed and hope this honest review will be helpful. read more

I wish there was a 1/2 star system on here. Tina's Pizzeria = 4.5 stars We wanted to grab Bettina but on their website, they've opened another pizza joint in Carpenteria called Tina's Pizzeria. Took a look and noticed the menu is almost the same, and the vibe is the cuter more casual younger sister of Bettina's. Placed the Pepperoni pizza online but we skipped on the chili oil and asked for the honey on the side. The location is located inside Linden Square, which is a small outdoor food hall with a laid-back hip vibe. Street parking is plentiful and pretty easy. Our pizza was ready upon our arrival. They provided plates and napkins and they also gave small cups of chili peppers that you can grab, which we did. A lot of open tables in the outdoor dining area although all of the available ones were in the sun. Oh well... Upon opening the pizza box, we were met with a beautiful pizza without the skimp of pepperoni. And you know, the pepperoni had that perfect curl. Took a photo first and then went in for the first slice. Just the right amount of sauce. You can taste a bit of the tang from the sourdough crust. As you eat toward the crust, it's chewy and crispy. Delicious! We sprinkled some chili peppers on and drizzled it with honey, and it was good. However, we're simple folks and prefer OG pepperoni pizza. Pizza put us back about $27, including tax. But life is short, don't skimp; splurge and live. If you love Neapolitan style pizza, and you're somewhere in the Carpenteria / SB / Ventura area, definitely give Tina's a try. We went to Carpinteria to go check out third window but we were intrigued by the sourdough pizza but we did not get the pizza. We instead of got the cheese bread and thought it would be small but it's actually the size of a small pizza and really good. The dough is light, airy and crisp (vs dense). If you eat it fresh it has a nice cheese pull. There are outdoor or indoor seats so its a nice place for lunch or dinner. read more

Silly pizza place lost customers over pineapple. Build your own pizzas and speciality pizzas available unless it has to do with pineapple. They make them all by hand with individual Ingredients but won't put pineapple on any pizza even though they have it. Not sure what happens if they put pineapple on a pizza you want it on, maybe the pizza gods get angry? This place is inside the Linden Square complex which I am not a fan of, but definitely a fan of Tina's. Their menu is a nice assortment of casual Italian fare. We LOVED their pizzas, the dough was light and airy with just the right crunch on the crust, and its sourdough so it tasted just incredible. The toppings are decent really liked the quality of the toppings. The line was out the door and it took 40 minutes to get a pizza. Really disappointing service experience, despite the food being decent. We came in around 2:30pm and ordered pizza. The young man at the register accidentally rang up a sandwich, but he immediately corrected the mistake and was very polite throughout the interaction. We honestly didn't think much of it. Unfortunately, the blonde woman at the register completely changed the tone of our visit. When we went to pick up our pizza, she abruptly yelled, "Are you listening? Did you hear me? Your sandwich isn't ready yet." The young man tried to explain the situation to her, but she gave us a dirty look and loudly told the cooks, "They changed their mind!" with a very rude attitude. Horrible and dangerous food handling technique by kitchen staff. I watched the cook play on his cell phone in the kitchen , then without washing his hands, plate my meal which included dipping his filthy bare hands into the open container of shredded cheese and sprinkling it on my meal . Cell phones are disgusting and anyone in a kitchen should not be using their phone and then making meals without any handwashing. - Its an open kitchen so you can keep yourself safe if you stand there and watch them make your meal .... but you shouldnt have to do that ....... read more

We we're camping and stumbled across this great little courtyard with nice couches and ambience fire pits dog friendly. We had two pizzas a bottle of wine. Everything was amazing. Definitely get the chili oil to put on your pizza. It's nice and thin isn't very filling which means you can have more pizza than you usually - the Caesar salad is highly recommended read more

Big fan of Bettinas this place not so much. I am quite livid today I ordered a pineapple pizza. Look I just wanted to try something different don't get upset at me. Anyways the pancetta and pineapple were not the problem. The problem was this pizza came with no marinara sauce (my fault for not noticing). From there the pizza also had cilantro and bbq sauce which were not listed. Really disgusting combo something you would get at California pizza kitchen. The staff were wonderful but the pizza was not! The margarite pizza with mushrooms was one of the worst. It lacked cheese and the mushrooms were stringy and insufficient quantity. I can't believe how grown-up Carpinteria has become, used to be the only pizza you could get when you're camping at the campground was Rusty's but that was then and this is now, I think when you come to this place, it's best to keep it simple, we got a pepperoni pie and a meat lovers pie and a salad, they also have excellent selections of wine from the area and beyond, it's a chill vibe with plenty of open seating you order at the counter and Then Pick up your food once it's ready, everything is freshly made and it's all excellent! I'm a local and gave this place a solid many months of regular business because I wanted it to succeed. Over that time, I've spent many hundreds of dollars here. Unfortunately, my most recent visit made it clear I won't be coming back. The food is just okay -- not bad, but nowhere near good enough to outweigh the consistently poor front-of-house experience. The host staff routinely comes across as disengaged, unfriendly, and carrying a noticeably bad attitude. On my last visit, I had an interaction with a young hostess that was unnecessarily rude and unreasonable over something minor. As a regular customer, that level of treatment reflects extremely poor customer relations. What's even more concerning is that I'm clearly not alone in this experience. Numerous friends and my girlfriend have independently commented on the same terrible demeanor and negative attitude from the staff. We genuinely found ourselves wondering why these people were hired in the first place, or perhaps even more to blame is what might be happening with upper management that has led to such low morale and consistently poor customer-facing behavior. Because of this one experience, they've lost at least six customers -- myself, my girlfriend, and several friends -- none of whom will be returning due to the attitude alone. For a new establishment, this is a serious problem. In a small town like Carpinteria, especially around Linden Square, word spreads fast. Basic professionalism and customer relations matter, and right now this place is falling well short. read more
