So I've been here plenty of times but it seems like their service has gone downhill. My friends and I were seated at 5:55pm and didn't get greeted until 6:15pm. As we were asking questions about the menu, every answer was a no followed by a walk away from our server. Meanwhile the kitchen is closed from 5pm - 6:30pm, we were told we could order drinks, unfortunately couldn't get that since the server has walked away (currently in the restaurant while writing this). It is now 6:30pm and we don't even have water on our table. You guys need to do better!!!! read more

Rustik Tavern - American Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

I been coming here for years. Dope neighborhood bar. I just really like this bar because it's fun and the location is perfect. I usually come here for just a beer and shot. The bartenders are cool, and the owner is awesome also. When it's nba playoffs this place can be packed and they usually show all of the games. read more

It's a random Wednesday night and my family and I just left here! Loved the atmosphere of the place. I've been here prior but only for a quick drink at the bar. This was my second time but, I sat and had food. It's winter so I am excited to visit again, once the Summer comes because there is a backyard area that looks cool and relaxing! We ordered wings as appetizers, it was only 'okay'! And a salmon burger, and pasta as entrees. All really good. I added chicken to my pasta, I wish it came with a bigger portion. The fries was the best thing, cooked very well!! Our server Andre was very attentive and asked all questions about the menus! Love that the happy hour is until 8pm huge plus! I will defiantly return again for the food! read more

The staff are friendly and the food is always great, but the wait time to get your food is always lengthy. You certainly cannot come here if you're in a rush because you won't make it to your destination on time. If you've got the time and the patience, give this place a try! read more

The food was superb, the atmosphere amazing! The wings and Mac and cheese was without a doubt the best I ever had. My waitress Ashley is the reason why I would come back. She was quick and attentive and extremely welcoming. 5 stars is not enough! read more

Not sure how I've managed to never review my favorite bar but here goes. I've been to Rustik Tavern for everything from birthday parties, baby showers, Presidential inauguration, MJ tribute, superbowl Sunday, Halloween parties, karaoke (Throwback Thursdays I the best) ok I've been there alot. I've enjoyed everything I've had there but to pick my two faves the mussels and the shrimp and grits. I could eat this everyday. Always delicious and always receive friendly service. The Rustik Lemonade is also very good and they really know how to make the perfect snakebite (SoCo and lime). Very friendly regulars and the atmosphere is always very relaxed. Please go check it out you won't be sorry!!! read more

Dear Rustik, Please do not cultivate a brew-pub atmosphere if you have only 6 beers on tap. Please do not play funk covers of "Light My Fire" so loud that it makes conversation impossible. Please do not close your patio at 10:00 so that it's impossible to escape the noise. Some pluses that might compel me to return: a pretty great happy hour deal, some cocktails that look interesting, and that they use the space to display local artists. read more

I never tried delivery. I have gone here in the week and received ok service but the food and drinks made up for it. We didn't have to wait too long. Keep in mind that this is on weekdays. I have never gone in on a weekend. It comes in handy if you have an impromptu craving for a selection of bar bites. read more

I've actually come here a few times. The previous times were a bit disappointing for me, but I've since figured out it's because I'm not a professional singer- more to come on that. The previous times, I always ended up coming on karaoke night. Karaoke= fun, karaoke with people with professional aspirations = a bit too serious for me. So I was pleasantly surprised when a friend convinced me to give this place a try again on a Saturday and there was no karaoke, just a great dj spinning a nice mix of old school, mid-school and new-school music.Rustik earned extra bonus points for playing a "best of Soul Train" video on the televisions throughout the night. They serve food here and the menu looks good, I just haven't tried it out yet. The prices are reasonable for drinks, the crowd was nice, the name well describes the interior and a good time was had by all. I'll come back again and make sure it's a non-karaoke night, but if you're into that you should definitely try it out on one of those nights. read more

After a long bus ride and slightly hungover from a Philly trip; My friend and I just wanted to sit, eat and recoup. Although, we waited FOREVER to get our order, the waitress said that the turnover from brunch to dinner was why our food took so long. Needless to say she should have told us that when we ordered. We waited, I wanna say close to 45 mins. Once the food FINALLY came I thought dang this salmon looks DRY as all heck. However, it didn' t taste dry, as a matter of fact it was hella good! I got mixed veggies instead of the mash potatoes and the Kale, which I am not normally a fan of, was on point. The blackened skin and top had been cooked and seasoned for the heavens! My friend got the chicken and waffles. The waffles seemed to have been cooked earlier in the day and kept warm while the fried chicken was quite fresh. AND LAWD THE DEEP FRIED CHEESECAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Her drink of choice was 471 and I opted for the bloody mary. Both were worth the buck. I have to say it was a bit loud and we thought there was a lot going on for a Sunday. Live radio host DJ and football game. Karaoke at 8pm I don't recommend going here if you want a quieter scene, This was our first time and we actually liked it a lot, considering. We got there at maybe 4:30pm and stayed until 8? Maybe longer. The waitress, we later found out, was new and it was her 2nd week, She loved it as well and also wound up being a sweetheart! read more

Ordered on seamless for pickup (Sunday night dinner. ) Estimate is 30 mins. Tried to call after 35 mins and the person who answered had no idea there was an order. Came to pick up after another 10 mins and again no food. They clearly hadn't even started cooking yet and no apologies either. The food eventually came an hour later! Never going again read more

Great neighborhood bar. Very nice atmosphere inside, with a mix of seating options (couch in the back and by the door, tables in the middle). The management is great and will make you feel right at home. This was the first bar I went to when I moved to Bed Stuy and the GM personally came up to me, introduced himself and welcomed me to the neighborhood. Just a good spot with a classy staff. The regulars are friendly and the food is solid. The turkey chili is the go-to item on the menu....Excellent....The rest is your proverbial bar menu...It can get really packed on the weekends, but during the week it's a nice low key place to meet friend for dinner or grab a drink. read more

When a friend said we'd be going to a spot called Rustik Tavern I immediately thought of beer and almost declined. While the food was tasty the service left much to be desired. While our server was kind, he didn't know the prices of the cocktails or beers. He gave "assumptions" and later came back to confirm prices. The busser also served as the food runner and forgot one our parties dish, we noticed it after everyone else had finished our mains. I was excited to try the fried cheesecake after having the same dessert at a restaurant in TriBeCa however mine came out a little too golden, if you catch my drift. Rustik Tavern does have potential though. I would suggest training the servers more thoroughly, as well as getting bussers AND runners. As it was early afternoon and the patio area was about 1/2 full they could use the extra staff on hand. Other than that its a solid place with a beautiful outdoor space. read more

Rustik has been my go to brunch spot for a few years now! The food is amazing and service is phenomenal. For the warmer seasons I always try to make my way to the out door space... Great for small to large groups!!! And did I mention brunch is bottomless mimosas!!! (Yes!!! And they keep it flowing) They also have a space next door that my sister in law used to host my bridal party. The space was transformed into a cute day tea party! The food was yummy and the host Josie was amazing...my guest raved about her stellar service! Rustik is a great place for brunch to an intimate event in their space!! #mygotospot read more

Always a great time for brunch. Good for celebrating with groups. A neighborhood gem that i frequent on Sundays.

So delicious! I ordered the salmon burger w/sweet pot. fries & the fried cheesecake. I picked my food up over an hour late, so it wasn't warm, but I still finished it in the car. That's how delicious and well-seasoned it was. Can't wait to bring my parents there. read more

Rustik has a great atmosphere. It's not too loud, not too light. It's a well done place. It is cozy, comfortable and a great neighborhood venue. It's a spot where you can lounge and easily spend a few hours. There is a great patio in the back. The service was good, the bartenders are great. It's always a great mix of people. I have gone here a handful of times--mostly for food. However, I find it a good spot for dinner, brunch or just drinks. The food was solid. They make great drinks. Rustik is definitely worth a visit. read more

Love the vibe when I walked in. Happy hour prices on drinks even if you are not at the bar. Had the salmon. it was delicious. The mashed potatoes were buttery and yummy. The kale needs work. They need a dash of Seven seas italian seasoning or some more spices. The bathroom was very clean. There is an outside dining area for smokers. The deejay was super duper awesome on a friday evening. I will definitely be back. read more

Let me start right out and say I'm what is known as "Rustik Regular" so some may see this review as biased. However, to counter that argument is a place doesn't become an establishment that I regular give my money to by having horrible food and bad service. From the moment I stepped into this neighborhood bar last year, I never looked back. The vibe I immediately got was friendly, from both patrons and from the staff. The atmosphere was kid-friendly which a definite plus for someone who wants to have a bloody Mary with their brunch but doesn't want the pretentiousness of park slope kind nor the divey-ness of williamsburg. I've brought both of my young nieces there and with the beautiful outdoor space and the friendly staff that have no problem making shirley temples alongside mimosas you can't beat a nice day there. Now I've read some of the reviews about the food and I have to say I've eaten 98% of the menu (i don't eat pizza... at all so I've never tried it there). That being said, I have to emphatically DISAGREE with the poor reviews of the food. My favorite dishes are the Franklin Fish & Chips, the Pulaski pasta and the apple tarts for dessert. The grilled tilapia dinner with vegetables is also very tasty. Everything is well seasoned and I don't begrudge the time it takes to get (which is never unreasonable) because I never fear that my food is sitting under some hot lamp drying out. No, its not Bouley. Its a bar but for bar food its REALLY good. Proportion wise and taste wise you it beats most restaurants with a higher price point. Its also a great place for events. They've just introduced a Thursday Karaoke night that's been a lot of fun. A couple of good dj's and bands on the weekend have also kept me returning and recommending. All this to say, I'm a Rustik Regular and I plan on staying one and I would suggest it to anyone who bothers to ask. read more

It's hard to enjoy any meal if the service is bad --- I enjoyed my meal fully here. The service here was awesome, from the hostess to our waiter. They followed up the great service with well-seasoned and portioned food. I got the fried fish option on the brunch menu and ate it ALL. I'll definitely be back during the warmer months to enjoy their outdood patio! read more

Rustik Tavern - Franklin Fish & Home Fries - American Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

I've lived in the neighborhood for 6 years and was pleasantly surprised by the addition of Rustik Tavern to the neighborhood. Rustik offers a tasty selection of your typical bar food options including wings (my personal favorite), nachos, pizza, mini burgers, chicken fingers etc. In addition, the menu also offers some delectable entrée options if you are in the mood for dinner instead. The brunch menu offered on the weekends before 4 pm is very good as well (I love the chicken and waffles!). The food and beverage prices are very reasonable. Without a doubt, I absolutely love the atmosphere at Rustik! In fact, this is one of my favorite things about this establishment. From live bands, to karaoke, to open mic, to DJs spinning hip hop on the weekends, there is something here for everyone. There is a beautiful garden in the back with outdoor seating which is nice on a warm day. There is also free WiFi connectivity for those wanting to wirelessly connect while enjoying a cocktail or beer. Finally, I cannot say more about the staff at Rustik. The staff is very attentive, friendly, and welcoming. There are several bars in the Clinton Hill/Bed Stuy area, but Rustik is by far my favorite. I give this bar 5 stars and I highly recommend it to anyone! read more

One of my favorite spots in Brooklyn. I bounce around to different places pretty frequently, but I consider this my official home base neighborhood bar/lounge. That being said I may be a little biased. Better than bar quality food. Some of the best Fish n Chips I've had at any restaurant, great staff, and a genuine neighborhood atmosphere. Rustik is a full fledged Restaurant, Bar, and Lounge all in one, without sacrificing anything. Food is awesome, has a Great Happy Hour, cool Bar tenders / Owner, along with Live Music, DJ's, Karaoke nights, and special events. True essence of what a Brooklyn bar/lounge should be in my opinion. There's also an outdoor back patio area with heating lamps for the colder months. read more

My bf and I went to Rustik for dinner a couple weeks ago with my mom and her husband at their suggestion. They had read about it opening and wanted to give it a try and to support a local business. The music was pretty loud and the TVs a little too dominating for the family dinner we were having. The food was fine, but I would definitely recommend Rustik more as a bar than as a dining destination. I had the portabella sandwich and a side of fries (which was so small I had to order a second). I live in Bed-Stuy, but actually quite far from Rustik. If I lived nearby, I would probably go in for a drink from time to time, but I don't think it's worth traveling for. read more

I went there back in February to celebrate my birthday and was not disappointed at all. First of all we had a reservation & the table was waiting for us upon arrival. A plus that we did not have to wait. The $30 unlimited mimosas was also a plus. My meal scrumptious! Probably one of the best chicken n waffle dishes I've had. The server very attentive and made out dining party feel welcome. Plus it was my birthday so a complementary choc cake dish with a sparkler courtesy of the waitress, very nice! Overall I enjoyed my dining experience at Rustik and do plan to be back. read more

I HATE when I forget to take a photo of the awesomeness I experience but I'll work on that. I promise!! Anywhoo, Who could think of a better way to spend a Saturday afternoon than having brunch in a trendy, Bed-sty joint, sipping UNLIMITED bloody marys (mimosas, belinis OR ALL 3 if youd like), listening to Zhane, eating Chicken and Waffles, with friends. The vibe (and the food) is everything I needed in my life at that moment. Oh, and their brunch hours are INSANELY awesome: sat 11-4, Sun til 6. That right there is BLINNER (brunch and dinner) read more

Was here today for brunch with my kids and my boyfriend. The hostess took a while to greet us and when she walked towards the front she had her face buried in her cellphone. However she was super friendly so I'm okay with the initial lack of attention. Now on to the food. I ordered the chicken and waffles. The best way to describe it is "Ehhhhhhhhh". One of my sons had the turkey burger sliders which he said were super bland. My other son had the Grand Butcher Boy with bacon and he said it was delicious. My boyfriend had the kale and beet salad and he also said it was delicious. (I tried some of the goat cheese fritter and I could've eaten s bucket of it unfortunately they only gave him two.) I paid $30 for unlimited bellinis which made up for the lackluster chicken and waffles. The wait staff was super friendly so because of them I wouldn't mind trying this place one more time. read more

I have to admit, I feel pretty cool being one of the first to visit this little place. I have that New York mentality where I enjoyed myself and would like the bar to stay because it seems pretty great, but also would be quite content to keep it on the DL and ensure comfortable future patronage. Anyway, my friends living in the area had been eagerly anticipating the opening of this place, so the first convenient Friday we rolled in. We got comfy chairs in the front (including what seems to be a church pew?), and enjoyed a night of friendly bickering, beer, and yummy food. I got one of their pizzas (just the plain tomato-cheese deal) and it was really yummy. I split it with my friend and in turn was able to munch on his tasty fish 'n chips. YUM! We left clearly full and having had a glorious evening. The staff was so amicable and friendly. The guy that brought us our drinks offered to write our names on the chairs. Clearly they recognize the importance of a loyal crowd! I definitely look forward to visiting again. read more

I came here for Paint Nite a few weeks ago. They have a separate venue next door which was nice. The establishment itself is extremely cute. I think it has a lot of character. The food was decent and came relatively quickly. But the service was really lacking. I had a hard time tracking someone down to help me. Drinks take an extremely long time compared to the food. I rate this establishment lower because I experienced some strong stomach pains after eating here. Maybe it was a fluke but I wouldn't risk it again. read more

Everything was just ok. The food was ok, the drinks were ok, the service was ok. It was brunch too and they didn't have any music. I'll probably try to find a better brunch spot. I just want them to excel in one area to just keep people returning. I should have know it was mediocre because there was no wait on a hot Sunday afternoon for brunch. read more

Normally I have nothing but love for this place...I'm a regular on Mon-Wed when there's an easy neighborhood vibe to watch a game with their spicy turkey chili a beer and a chicken salad (the onion soup and chicken sandwich are banging too). But I came here today for a Sunday for brunch with my mentee and the service sucked a** BIG TIME!! The place was relatively empty and yet I had to wait over one hour for my food. Waitress gave no rationale for why it was taking so long and forced me to keep asking for refills versus keeping my TINY coffee cup full (which was weak coffee to begin with). When the food finally came the shrimp was overcooked. The cheese grits were lumpy (not thick...lumpy...lke bottom of the pot lumpy.) The tomato onion pepper sauce that was supposed to be thick and spicy was instead a watery and weak smothering. Best thing about brunch? The music (albiet a little loud) and the complimentary carrot bread. No better way to ruin a Sunday then to have it start out with having someone screw up your brunch. No bueno! Suggestion to management...get the Monday night manager and chef in there on the weekends, at least the food comes on time and is prepared well. Sheesh. read more

Oh guys. Oh jeez you guys. Bad, bad, bad customer service. After putting in our order (1 appetizer "to start" and 3 entrees, for 3 people), our waiter abandoned us and hung out with his friends two tables away. Charming. A runner had to take over waiting our table. Can you say management issues? It sounds like the waiter actually wasn't working that night, just filling in for a few minutes. Not that anyone told us until we asked, much later. Anything we asked for took an eternity. Our appetizer arrived AFTER the entrees. Two beers and a basic dinner for 3 took TWO HOURS. No refills on water. We spent about 30 minutes looking at our empty beers, waiting on nachos that came after the steak. Not acceptable. The place was not packed, nor slammed, nor even particularly busy. Just under- and poorly staffed. So sorry I brought my friends here. An embarrassment. read more
