Really great food. Highly recommend the salmon with mashed potato and the chicken and waffles. The calamari was on point. I just wish that there was a larger entree list to choose from. Great environment. Can't wait till summer essay outside. read more

Rustik Tavern - Calamari. Salmon with mashed potato and kale. Chicken and waffles. Shrimp bucket with French fries. - American Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

This place was awesome! Bottomless brunch and a delicious shrimp and grits Keith & June rocked it!!

I love Rustik Tavern. I go ever so often but this time I sat outside. Our waiter was wonderful the boozey brunch is worth it. If anything skip the side of bacon it is hard and crunchy but if that is your jam go for it! The steak and eggs was great especially because they don't use the chewy cut. read more

I have been to Rustik Tavern multiple times and to be honest, my first experience was NOT a good one. The service was slow, the food was mediocre and the drinks were basic. But nothing was bad enough to deter me from giving them another try. AND I AM GLAD THAT I DID. As stated, I have been here a few times. But I waited until now to leave a review as I wanted time to reveal if the good would outweigh the bad or vice versa. The good most definitely won!! My recent visit, this past Sunday is what finally prompted a review as it confirmed that everything I complained about regarding my first visit changed for the better during each visit following. The service was very good. Reservations: I called to make a brunch reservation and was advised that it needed to be done online. Ok, no problem. I did as advised and made a reservation for 2:15pm. We arrived a little early, about 1:50pm and I thought we'd have to wait until our reserved time as it was a bit busy. However to my (pleasant) surprise, we were taken right to our table. The Food: Appetizer: Crabcake. Entree: Fried Catfish w/ Home-fries. I added scrambled eggs & cheddar. Both were very well prepared and very fresh. That crabcake will always be a staple...IT IS SOOOOOO GOOD!! It NEEDS to be offered as an entree(PLEASE???) The catfish was HUGE and flavorful and perfectly fried!! The only issue I had is that I prefer my home-fries w/ much more seasoning and these were just OK. But other than that, I would order both again with no problem and maybe substitute the home-fries with a salad(their salads are really good). The $20 Boozy Brunch Add-On: MORE THAN WORTH IT!! And unlike a lot of places that won't allow you to mix/match the offered drinks, such is NOT the case at Rustik. You're allowed to mix it up as you wish. They are also very well made. **But please do so responsibly :) ** The Service: I wish that I could take Shakar to EVERY restaurant that I go to and have him as my table's server. He is the sweetest and most attentive waiter I have ever encountered and I have been fortunate enough to have been seated in his area the last 2 times I was there. He does his job with pride and a smile no matter how busy his area gets. HE ROCKS!! Keep up with the improvements and hopefully take heed the the requests/suggestions for the future. Til then.... See you soon Rustik Tavern. read more

So, Rustik is a local bar/ restaurant/lounge. A group of us came here to end a bachelorette weekend with brunch. We were placed in the adjacent room to the restaurant. We had a center table and the seating was a bit uncomfortable. The chairs didnt go to well with the table. There was definitely a high and low situation. I always wash my hands when I enter a restaurant and it was annoying that I had to walk outside to the main entrance to use the bathroom in the adjacent restaurant. I thought it was a joke at 1st, but the joke was in me. This was pretty annoying, so I made sure not to drink to much. We placed our drink orders and then made our entree orders. The drinks were meh, and I cant remember what I ordered. We ordered chicken and waffles, fried fish and potatoes, salmon burger, and shrimp with grits. So, nothing stood out. The fish was bland and the breading was weird. I definitely dont think it was made fresh. Salmon burger was dry. Shrimp and grits were ok. Not really creamy or tasty. And the chicken was ok with plain waffles. Not my kind of brunch spot. The worst part is that we gave an 18% tip and the server told us we didnt give enough asking if the tip was included. Absolutely, it was. Service was nothing to rave about nor the food. I dont think I'll be back for brunch. read more

Attention Frantz M., owner of Rustik. Unfortunately, I have not had the pleasure of visiting your bar. Although upon reading your numerous responses to unsatisfied patrons, all I can say is Wow! I'm utterly floored by your professionalism and charisma. I am truly impressed by your class and attention to the quality of service you aim to provide. It is indeed rare to find someone as passionate as you sound about the care and service their customers receive. I can personally relate, as I too run a small business in the neighborhood and quality of service is a constant priority. I am a local in the neighborhood and have been for several years. I can honestly say I cannot wait to check out your bar and hopefully share a toast with you personally. Many thanks!!!! See you soon :-) read more

I called Rustik Tavern today (Easter) around 12pm, and when I called a man answered the phone and I asked him if it was possible to get a seat today and he asked if I made a reservation online and I told him no. He said that all the reservations were booked, then I asked if it was possible to just walk in since I only had a party of 2 (my sister and I). The man said yes, as long as we come before 2pm we should be fine and I took his word. A few minutes later we hopped in an uber to go to the restaurant, and told the host about our conversation and he said that all the tables were booked and that the self-seating was only at the bar. I was extremely frustrated that so much time was wasted, and also because the host said that he was the supervisor on the floor and there was no one that would have said what the man said on the phone. What also disappointed me the most was that when I asked to speak to a manager, we waited 5 minutes and no one came, and the "supervisor" on the floor said that the manager was "busy". I've been to the restaurant several times before so I was super disappointed at the unprofessionalism and miscommunication. Never coming back again for that BS. They need to get their management and communication together. Now next time whenever I'm on the phone with someone I have to ask for their name just in case they give me another story. SMFH. Now I've taken my money elsewhere to another restaurant with better food and service. read more

The food is actually pretty decent so writing this sucks, but the service is TERRIBLE. The bar manager forgets to put orders in and the food ALWAYS takes much longer than quoted, both in person and via delivery. Most recently, 40 minutes AFTER I PLACED MY ORDER, and 5 minutes before my food was slated to arrive, the restaurant told the delivery driver WHO HAD ARRIVED TO PICK UP MY FOOD that they were "too busy" to make my salad........... and so I should cancel the order. They didn't bother to call me, the customer; nor did they bother to message this in a timely fashion. So now I'm sitting here at 10PM with no dinner here and no dinner on the way. Unbelievable. I won't be dining here anymore until they get their act together. read more

Came here for Sunday brunch. The food was delicious, the drinks were fantastic and the service was on point. Keith is a fantastic server who went above and beyond for us. We will definitely be back! read more

My first visit to the Rustik, just a heartbeat from my apartment, was totally on impulse. Props to fellow customers Steve, Jeff, and his friend from the Bronx for super-fun conversation, and Megan for terrific tips on food and beer. The tab was $43 with tip for three pints and an extra tasty plate of grilled, blackened salmon (in fact, remarkably tasty) with mashed potatoes and garlicky-sauteed spinach. The bar snack was homemade potato chips that were a treat. The decor, the crowd, and the music were all excellent to me. read more

Rustik Tavern - Rustic Omelet no cheese with Bacon, home fries, waffles and mimosas! - American Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

I like Rustik because it seems to lack the nauseating hipster crowd of the bars on Myrtle. I usually will come here for dinner, I'll get the chicken tenders with honey mustard and a couple rounds of beer. A chill place to hang out without the pretentious scene. I really enjoy myself here. The back yard is really nice in the summer! read more

I've only been to Rustik Taven twice, and had vastly different experiences. Neither was amazing nor was it awful, and in the end, I kind of decided Rustik Tavern is what it is: a local, casual bar/dining spot, great for a burger and beer when you're craving red meat. The last time I went was a Friday evening for dinner. It was over-the-top crowded, even on the early side when we arrived and more so by the time we left. The host told us there were tables out back, but what he neglected to mention (and this is key) is that the backyard turns into a smoking den after, say, 7:30 pm. I have never seen so many cigars in my life. After 5 minutes out there, we went back inside where the host magically found a table. After that it was smooth sailing. The burger I had was great, and unexpectedly came on an English muffin (the little things, people!) and the fries were awesome. The also had Dogfish Head beer on tap, making it a very satisfying burger and beer dinner. Yeah, the service was slow, but I attribute that to how crowded the bar was more than lack of caring. In contrast, the first time I went was on a weekday evening for drinks. It was super chill and much less crowded. read more

Brunch is littyyy my favorite spot to day drink on the weekend and the good is so good i love the salmon burger with the sweet potato fries

Came here for Mothers Day b/c my mother was so persistent to supporting black businesses. I liked the place once we walked in. The environment was so "homey" and welcoming. I had to give 3 stars b/c although everything was actually good. Our server was the ONLY server for the outside area. How is it possible to have only one person serving on Mothers Day? Maybe someone called out? We didn't get to really enjoy the bottomless mimosas b/c we rarely saw Laron (I think that was his name). However the food was good, it's 30$ for the bottomless brunch (entree + unlimited mimosas, bellinis, screwdrivers and bloody Mary's) hopefully next time better service. read more

They have a great brunch menu and good for groups. The food takes FOOOORRRRREEEEVVVVVEEEEERRRRR, but all in all it is tasty and while waiting can have a couple of drinks on Saturday afternoon. I ordered through grub hub and the delivery took over an hour and 15 minutes. The burger was small, but the meat was tasty. Too many raw red onions for my taste. The chips on the side were good. I ordered a side of cole slaw and it was very oniony. The delivery person did not have any change so I had to walk down the block to make change--super inconvenient and wouldn't have been possible if it had been any later at night. Overall I am vaguely unimpressed and won't be ordering from Rustik again. read more

They doubled up the prices on brunch, hour wait for food, server took 20 min to bring Carafe (I think intentional to time limit on bottomless brunch), champagne was cheap & flat and for 50 per person should atleast have top shelf!! The food was excellent, but for $25 less could have went down the block to SoCos. Very disappointed.. Food was good but as we waited an hour for breakfast food they could have served a roll, piece of cornbread!! Something... Took my sister, her first time,, she said next time she will cook she was aggrevated on the wait time and it was average crowd, about 10 servers so the delay was unnecessary. read more

TRY THE RUSTIK LEMONADE!!!!!!!!! The lemonade says it all...its sweet, yet tangy, with a hell of a kick!!! That is how I see this spot...The crowd is cool and friendly, the decor adds the tang with its rough, sexy appeal, and the entertainment, whether its live jazz/r&b/reggae, karaoke, or a funky DJ spinning 80s and 90s classics..there is always something to add the KICK!! I love this spot and try to make it there everytime I come to NYC. I was just there this past Saturday and the DJ was on point...I couldn't stop moving and singing!!! Stopped in during an afternoon stroll to quench the thirst and get a snack. Glad I did! The chicken wings I ordered, with the option of double-battered (love that!), were crispity, juicy and meaty, and the buffalo sauce was excellent. Very fun crowd in the place. There was a party going on in the back area of the bar and the DJ was tight. I haven't heard Mary J's "Real Love," in forever! Made my afternoon a little brighter. Patio rocks. Our bartender was friendly, knowledgable and attentive. I want to go back and try their Butcherboy turkey sliders. I also want to try their brunch. The menu looks to have many tasty options and very reasonable prices. read more

LOVE THIS PLACE! The boyfriend and I went here after passing it many times on our way to somewhere else and finally took the plunge. Jeeze! How we've cheated ourselves by not venturing in sooner for some great food, fun atmosphere, inviting service and incredible sounds in the background to boot! This was a Friday night and the NBA game was on! We nestled ourselves in a nice corner, ordered a few adult beverages and chowed down on some delish vittles. The mussels were insane, the steak frites were perfect and my salmon with kale was shockingly delightful. We were enjoying the hell out ourselves and the gorgeous hostess walks over and has the nerve to tell me they have KARAOKE on Sundays. Wha wha what??? Say it ain't so. In a word...CHALLENGE!!!!! I shall return in 48 hours to surely show my a$$ up in here. And as promised, I made my RUSTIK debut promptly 'round 'bout 8 drink thirty sharp!! After a few Cabernets and a classy rendition of 'Gin and Juice' ( the only way I know how to do it)...the party got started and anyone with a song in their heart hit the stage. By the end of night even the people who swore they weren't going to get up we're on their 2nd and 3rd song. What pleasure.... Anywho....in closing...This is a bitter sweet review for me because I really don't want this place to lose it's sweet, sweet charm and be filled with looky-loos who don't know how to enjoy life, but I just can't keep this place ALL to myself. All I know is, if you are in BK and have the time, stop by and enjoy yourself. It will be lovely....I gar-un-tee!!!!! read more

Bartender was busy but waitress just standing around the bar watching him and chatting with the customers. He clearly can use help but they could not be more disengaged. I ordered the tukey chili which was delicious. It was slightly spicy but with sour cream and chips for scooping it was the perfect meal. Another good oprion was the wilted caesar salad with chicken. They grilled the romaine which gave it a bit of smokiness - yummy!! Definitely a spot for locals and nice to see a place to go to on this end of Dekalb Ave. read more

In Brooklyn for the first time, looked for a place where the family could sit and eat. My gosh! Knew I was in great hands when the beer I ordered wasn't available and our server came out with two tasters and said, "sorry, but these are similar to what you ordered, would either of these work?" (I chose the Montauk Brewing Juicy IPA!) Then the food. My salmon was perfect. The kids & wife had fried chicken & Mac & cheese. Only issue was that the littlest belly received the largest piece of chicken. Otherwise, no issues there! And daughter ordered a pork chop. She's not prone to over-enthusiastic praise of food. When she said it was "very good," I was stunned, and had to steal a bite. (She wasn't wrong.) All in all, a great meal, and when opportunity allows, we'll definitely visit again! read more
