Really solid brunch! Whenever I see places that have unlimited brunch deals I always get nervous that the food will be sacrificed since they think folks will just care about the drink special. This place did both though, great food and drink special. First, we walked in as a party of 9 that quickly whittled down to only 5, but the hostess was kind enough to keep a table of 4 open near us in case the rest of the group was still coming. That was really accommodating of them. Second, as soon as you sit and you say you want your boozy brunch your 90-min clock begins. So don't wait for a party or they will have their time docked, so it's good to have everyone at same time when you begin. I got a Croque Madam and it was really good. Thick toast, creamy béchamel sauce, perfectly cooked egg, and thick bacon (instead of ham, which I typically prefer, but this was still good). Really good. Folks saw my dish and got a little envy since it was so great looking. My meal wasn't part of the unlimited brunch which was all good. I opted to go with beers anyway, but all was well on my end. The unlimited brunchers seemed really happy too. You could mix between, bellinis, bloody mary's, mimosas, and screwdrivers. Glasses were always full at our table, just like our bellies. I would definitely recommend this spot. I would like to try and eat in the back patio area next time as it was really cute and charming. Only complaint, the room was really warm. Could have piped in more AC even though fans were keeping air moving. And the bathroom had only 1 sink in order and just made for a tight bathroom experience since it was quite a bottleneck. read more

Came for brunch on 6/23. Waited 10 minutes before being seated. Sat outside. The place is super cute, and the menu was priced very reasonably. The food was mediocre. The fries were great, my burger was over cooked (ordered medium) and overall wasn't amazing. My date got the salmon burger and said it wasn't that great either. Service was great. Might come back just got drinks. read more

Went for brunch on a Sunday! Nicely decorated place. Inside has more of a Jazzy, classy West Indian feel, the backyard is more casual, relaxed and rustic, no music outside though and the chatter can get a bit loud. The food is pretty good, we had the Shrimp and Grits, and the Franklin Fish i think. They have a bottomless brunch special, cant complain about that. Good drinks. ----------------------------------- Cons The service is where they fall a little short in my opinion, the hostess was wearing a hoodie with the restaurant's logo on it and bright jeans, it took me a second to realize she worked there. We were greeted in quite a nonchalant way, no smile, no enthusiasm, there weren't lot of people in yet. She stopped to joke around with coworkers when she left to get our reserved table ready. I hope she was just having a bad day. --------------------------------- She was our server for the first 10 minutes and then another server took over, and she was lovely and very warm and professional with us. Which is why im still rating 3 stars I would definitely go back for the food, I will sit inside this time (well summer is over anyways) read more

Had a wonderful boozy brunch out on the patio today for $30. I came here for Saturday brunch. Ambiance is very relaxed and comfortable. My party of five were sat next to the glass doors, which if you are like me, I don't recommend because it was very cold and the opening and closing of the doors from its employees did not help. Also, some of them took a smoking break right outside the door which meant, my table got the whole blunt of it. I ordered the unlimited drinks for 90 minutes. The drinks are not that strong which is good because you are sipping away. Our waitress was very nice and food arrived very quickly. I ordered the steak and egg. The meat was very small and not tender, but overall was average. The rest of my group ordered chicken with waffles and I heard the chicken needed a bit more seasoning. One of my friends complained that the drinks refills were not coming on time. I didn't mind, but I guess it's something to look into. read more

I'd like to start out by saying this is my first review ever. My fiancé and I have been frequent brunchers at Rustik because the food is awesome and the service is outstanding. Last weekend we decided to do a group brunch for our joint bday celebration, so naturally we chose Rustik Tavern. I knew the service was incredible when it was just 2 people, but OH MY GOODNESS it was impeccable the entire time we were there!!! There were about 14 of us, and our friends have done nothing but raved about how amazing the food and service was. Keith made SURE we all had a good time. He has an amazing sense of humor and all of our guests loved him. I think my fiancé even hugged him before we left! There was never an empty pitcher on the table, the chicken Sammy was to die for, and the music was perfect. Rustik will always have a place in my heart, and I can't wait for my next excuse to return!! I am a sucker for great hospitality and they knock it out of the park every time. read more

This is my 2nd time at this place and I'm more disappointed than the 1st time. A friend and I made reservations for 3pm in time for brunch. I got there a little late , at 3:08 but we were seated outdoors within 3 minutes of arriving. We placed our order with the waitress around 3:15. At around 4:20 (an hour and 5 minutes later) the waitress, Ashley, came back to ask us what we ordered again. At 4:45, we went inside to see if we can speak with a manager about why the wait for the food was so long, but the waitress was just coming out with our food. The eggs weren't done the way they were asked and she also came without my bacon. So we waited an hour and 30 minutes. In this time , we've ordered bottomless mimosas and bellinis and have only received 4 mimosas each because they were coming infrequently. Because of our wait time, the waitress put only 4 mimosas on the bill in total, which came up to $8 each mimosa, however, if it was truly bottomless, we would've had both our money's worth and drink's worth. Basically, it wasn't what we signed up for when we first got there. The saving grace was the food. My friend ordered the catfish while I ordered the French toast. Both were really good. We also ordered dessert around 5 and it didn't arrive until 5:40. We were also asked to move from our wobbly table so one of the workers could rearrange the rest of the table. It's interesting that we were offered to move from the wobbly table (as pointed out by the worker) for his own benefit, as opposed to our comfort. We were thinking that maybe the service was poor because we were seated outdoors, as there was another woman who was attended to for at least 30 minutes of being there, and even though she got there well after us, she received her food before us. read more

My friend and I went here for bottomless brunch but that was no longer an option on the menu since Covid. It was replaced with a prefix menu worth $75 a person which included dessert or an appetizer along with 1 hour of any kind of cocktail you want that's not top self. They also added 20% gratuity for a party of 2. I made my own order up of shrimp and waffles. The food was good. Unless they bring back bottomless the way it use to be I think I'll pass on coming back. read more

Today I went to Rustik Tavern for the first time. It was Saturday around 12 noon. The restaurant was full and they could not see anyone who did not have a reservation. The hostess did advise my party to sit at the bar where we could be served food and drinks. That worked out well. Kyle was the server at the bar and he was great. I got the chicken and waffles and my party got unlimited mimosas. Everyone loved their food and drinks. The pricing was right and worth it. The environment is really cool and I would like to return on a Friday or Saturday night to see what the vibe is like. All in all a good experience and well worth the time the drive and the money. read more

I'm highly disappointed with this place. I reserved the same day about 2 hours prior, which I guess is a sign to stay away if you can book a reservation for dinner on a Friday night on a Holiday weekend at that. I brought my mom here for her birthday and she was so underwhelmed. This place already has a limited menu so the fact that they didn't have the Salmon entree cost them three customers hungry for it. So we settled for appetizers (the crab cake, kale salad, spinach dip and shrimp tostones) and drinks. The birthday girl ordered ice tea, which I tasted, and we both agreed it tasted like watered down Pepsi. The crab cake was not fresh at all and you could tell by the aftertaste of fish. Gross. The kale salad was actually sautéed kale. The spinach dip only comes with 5 small pieces of bread crackers like what are we supposed to do with the rest. The shrimp tostones didn't come the same time as our other appetizers so we saved ourselves the disappointment and dollars and canceled our order which it seems our waiter forgot about anyway. He was also lackluster. We were not given any separate plates only utensils. The ambience is cute but I'm a foodie so do us a service and stop selling food just become a lounge. read more

I really wanted to like this place. The decor is cute, music on point and the vibe is nice. The food and drink however. The drinks were strong so that was a plus but they weren't really tasty and the alcohol selection was limited. You could taste the artificial sweeteners and sour mix in them. We waited over an hour for just the appetizer..... My turkey burger was salty so we're the fries, nothing worse than old tasting fries. My friend got the chicken sandwich with a said of kale and her meal was very tasty. The peach cobbler was lack luster.... it was cold in the inside. The crust was tasty had a hint of lemon in it. The waiter was very apologetic about how slow the kitchen was and gave us a free round of drinks and desert. We still tipped her well as it wasn't her fault. I wouldn't return here or recommend this place. read more

This was probably my favorite brunch spot! The mimosas are phenomenal at $20 for bottomless for 90 minutes but who was counting the minutes. The owner is really nice and down to earth. If you're a fan of Shrimp and Grits this is the place if you're in Brooklyn. June is the best bartender of all time! The waffles also looked really delicious. The place is rather small and typically doesn't take walk-ins. You will have to try and find a seat at the bar which is rather hard but me and my friends lucked up on seating. The atmosphere is very chilled and the music was very relaxing and chilled. Great place! Will definitely revisit next time I am in Brooklyn. read more

The food was delicious. I love the atmosphere of this restaurant. I was so caught up in the moment I didn't take any pics. However, the customer service is not the best. You are waiting for a long long time to be seated and fed. Is it worth the wait? A question the is left up for debate. However, I am not a local so I didn't want to miss the opportunity. I had the French toast with a side of eggs. I wanted more. This was actually the first restaurant I ever been to that cook eggs the way I will make them at home!! Met my girl here this morning for what should've been a quick brunch. If I had not planned to head to the library following brunch we certainly would've done the boozy brunch. BTW, Rustik is the place to do boozy brunch indeed. Overall, the service was really good. My omelette was good but a bit more salty than I'd prefer and my potatoes didn't seem fresh, but hey I was really hungry and the food was decent enough for me not to complain. Had 3 bartenders for a pretty small bar and none noticed my cup of water was empty for 20 min; not to mention one of them really didn't want to be there or is a super introvert and just there to make the drink and bye; would have hoped they tried a bit more to have a conversation or explain the philosophy/idea behind the bar/drinks etc (i mean i am paying 20% tip and it's a service industry) 2) The Awakening (tiramisu) was not that great; was on the sour side - maybe because of the chosen espresso beans which may be arabica, but wasn't pleasant; gave an impression of soured milk and coffee. Also the frozen ice cream just doesnt fit; more like a frozen affogato or sour klondike bar than a tiramisu Net net, still a great new place and perfect for dates, but not as strong on the service and desserts

Came for drinks. Stayed all night. November 1st, 2014. Guys Night. My friend suggested Rustik to me a few months ago but since I no longer live in NY, I knew it would be a minute before I checked it out. When suggestions were being tossed around on where we should celebrate Guys Night- I suggested Rustik and the guys agreed. Let me start by saying this spot is in the cut. It's on Dekalb Avenue but its far up on Dekalb away from the other nightlife. And it's a small, unassuming location as well. If you were driving, you could easily overlook it. I was the first guy to arrive at the bar and was a bit nervous to go inside because you can't see inside from outside and after seeing a bunch of people enter I figured it was crowded inside. Once my friend arrived we both stepped in and were pleasantly surprised at what we saw. Rustik is a small to medium sized establishment that makes EXCELLENT use of the space they have. Once you enter, immediately to your right is the seating area. Not many tables, but if you are lucky enough to snag one of the seats, do so because they are very comfortable and communal style to encourage long stays and conversation. Those tables were all taken so my friend and I grabbed one of the few remaining spots at the bar (on your left). The bar offers your typical selection of midshelf alcohol with everything to choose from: wine, beer, hard liquor and cocktails. I have a glass of Pinot Noir and my friend had a Rum & Coke. $18. A little steep. Definitely Manhattan-like prices. However upon his first sip my friend said "Damn! You think they could actually give me some Coke in my Rum and Coke?" That is definitely a plus for a bar! Once all the guys had arrived we relocated to one of the tables and ordered food. Three of the people at the table had the Salmon Burger, I had the Beef Burger and my other friend had the Chicken Fingers platter. Throw in a few sides of steak fries, steak and buffalo wings and we had a pretty good thing going on. The food, we all agreed, was excellent. No complaints. Food arrived in a timely manner. Fresh. Very satisfied we all were. Our original plan was to start the night at Rustik and then head into the City for the main event. However, it was a rainy, cold evening and nobody really wanted to leave the comfort of Rustik. So we stayed and stayed some more. And ordered a few more rounds of drinks and stayed some more. Then we paid our bill and still we all sat, chatting away, comfortable, happy and warm inside Rustik. Our night started at 5:30PM and we left at 9:30PM. Will I return? You bet! I can't wait to take my wife there on a date! Highly recommended! read more

this place doesn't deserve a star at all. the people that gave this place a good review need to have there heads examined, you must be friends with the owner. the staff and management reminded more of the special olympics of bars.SHOULD I EVEN GO THROUGH MY EXPERIENCES THERE ? yes people i said experiences i have been there on more than one occasion.my 1st experience was not one to be forgotten, i had two birthday parties waiting for what they call food, from experience i believe they make you wait so that u are parched to near agonizing death so that u have no choice but to run a 200$ (u.k) tab on watered down drinks that are poured with a eye dropper .after a two hour wait finally the entrees arrive, nothing is fresh everything taste like it came out of the can. event the wings . not to mention that when our food arrived, me and and my date are 99.9% sure that the waitress broke wind during her exit from the table leaving a nice little gift at the table with us, hows that for decor.as u can see this review could take some time to write so to make a long story short,2nd visit because i live two blocks from the place i was walking pass some nice looking girls going in and decided what the heck bought a drink that was twice the price and half the size.i hung for about 20 mins and who coming strolling in but the police and i mean a lot of police accompanied by the health department don' t know what was about but i got the hell out of there i think i did a good job of not swearing but, that place is a damn good looking shit hole read more

This place just made me sad. It looks so promising from the outside and the website was creative and cute yet maybe a little hokey but at least they put effort into it. When you walk in there is this beautiful old butchers meat locker that is storing cases of soda etc. They could be using that in so many amazing ways which is kind of the common thread that runs throughout the place. Its hard not to imagine what the restaurant could have been or could be throughout the entire experience. The immediate feeling I had when I walked in was "ooohh so cozy and warm in here, I could spend an evening drinking and eating here very easily and then you see it...... The big obnoxious plasma T.V. What is with that? If you want to be a sports bar be a sports bar, if you want to be a cozy little tavern be a cozy little tavern. It really kills it for me. I asked for the menu which was printed on a 8 1/2 by 11 printer paper, straight off of the computer. Really? I ordered a drink from a very nice man. I asked if he had a sauvignon blanc to which he replied "sure" He then came back and placed a glass of red wine in front of me. Again... Really? I didn't have the heart to say anything to him and just sipped on it while perusing the " menu". I was set to order wings when he replied...Oh we don't have any food yet. Ok then why even give me your little menu flyer thingy. And again... Really? read more

I made a yelp account just to write this. But I've been coming to this place for about 2-3 years now not only for the great food but especially for the amazing staff, only to come after being gone for almost 2 months and see brand new people working not knowing anything about anything. Our usual server Christy is not there anymore apparently and we had another girl that was nice but did not make our brunch fun at all. I found myself with an empty glass most of my 90 minutes. In her defense, she was the only server working! Even the host was a complete downgrade from the girl that had been there since I started coming there. She had us wait for about a half hour after our reservation time. The old host never had us wait, especially with a reservation or without an apology or explanation. The bartender, June, was the only familiar face since he had been there since opening. And when I wanted to talk to the owner, no one could find him! The new staff is not friendly not accommodating and clueless. They need pointers from the old staff and I likely won't be coming back unless they do as well. Not sure what management must've done to mess up one of the most fun brunch spots I've ever been to in Brooklyn but they definitely did. Completely disappointed read more

I have been reading a lot of the reviews here and I know alot of them are not positive, and I feel very bad for these people, but first impressions can be lasting impressions and not open a door for a chance for second or third impressions. In my personal experience with Rutik's I have been able to enjoy multiple positive impressions, great fun, and meet alot of new and positive friends. Any time there has been an issue, I have brought it to the attention of management and it was immediately addressed beyond my satisfaction. I have been enjoying Rustik's for well over a year and bring a different group of people with me everytime I go, who all have found it to be a repeat place to have an all around great time. No matter if you are inside or outside the air of freindship, fun, and sometimes extreme comical foolery can be enjoyed. Depending on the happenings of the evening Rustiks has also proven to be an experience of sophistication, ambience, romance, and in depth conversations with new and old friends. I highly recommend Rustiks. If you allow it could be a place where everybody knows your name. ;-) read more

First time having brunch at Rustik. I've been here many times for events and happy hours, but it looks like I've been missing out. The first thing that impressed me was that I was able to get a reservation the morning of for 3:15 brunch. Not easy to do on a Saturday. My cousin ordered the French toast and I had the shrimp and grits entree. Hands down the best French toast I ever tasted in my life--the batter was reminiscent of waiting beignets for breakfast! The shrimp and grits were already really good--barely needed to add anything to the grits as they were cheesy goodness. The service was also on point and our waitress never missed an opportunity to refill us on our bottomless drinks. Definitely coming back for brunch soon! read more

Rustik is a great venue - GREAT. The service is friendly and efficient (though like any restaurant, you may have a wait when it's crowded), the bartenders are awesome and friendly, the owner Frantz is always on hand and very diligent about ensuring your good time and the manager Rudy adds great character to the overall scheme of things (clearly I go a lot). The vibe is awesome and what's interesting is the overall crowd that Rustik attracts! Some nights it's Jazz and you'll see a more mature crowd trying out their vocals as certain highlighted groups Jam...Other nights is just plain chillin'. The weekend brunch and overall calmness is nice as well. Highly recommend!!!! read more

I dined at Rustik Tavern at the end of November 2024 and it was one of the most uncomfortable restaurant experiences I've had. The restaurant had no heat, yet patrons were not informed beforehand. Instead, we were left to dine in a cold space with only a few portable heaters, which did little to improve the situation. Despite these conditions, there was no discount or gesture of goodwill offered. Unfortunately, the food did not make up for the poor atmosphere. It lacked seasoning and fell flat in terms of flavor. Given the uncomfortable setting and underwhelming food, this was a truly disappointing experience. I wouldn't return and can't recommend it. read more

We ended up ordering the fried fish sandwich, split pea soup, jerk wings, tamarind wings, a salad, and fries. The split pea soup tasted sour, as if it had been sitting for days, and was visibly separated in the bowl. I sent it back because I genuinely felt something was wrong with it, yet no one asked if I wanted a replacement and the soup was still left on our bill. The wings were just as disappointing. The jerk wings were wet, soggy, completely lacking in flavor, and tasted nothing like jerk seasoning. The tamarind wings tasted more like wings covered in sweet-and-sour sauce than tamarind, although at least those were crispy. Sadly, the French fries were probably the only decent thing we had. I really wanted to enjoy this restaurant and support the business, especially after seeing the post online. The waitress was super professional and gave us suggestions from the menu items. She suggested the Peaches Punch (rum and positive vibes) and she did not disappoint. Peaches Punch was sweet and citrus. My fam is southern, migrated from North Carolina to Brooklyn, so I am not a stranger to southern food. My mother was a sou cook in a small water front hotel on the intercostal waterway, so I confess I am a chair side critic of collard greens. I do not like collards simmered too sweet. I also like to add vinegar. So we ordered the fried catfish, cornbread, and collard greens. The catfish arrived seasoned and crispy. I added a dash of Texas Petes hot sauce, they seriously offer a variety of hot sauce. Love it. The collard greens were inviting, aromatic, and tender. The smell of the collards reminded me of Sunday dinner after training. Yes, it tasted old school, I greatly appreciated the southern vibe and the great southern hospitality. The main entrées were affordable and the drinks were worth every penny. This is within walking distance from my home. I will definitely return for collard greens. Please make a date to sit out on the sidewalk and order those collards.

It has a lovely backyard and spacious dining room for what at first glance seems like a hole in the wall. I'd stopped in once before and ate outside on a sunny day for just drinks. This time I came with my family for a quick dinner. We sat in the cosy dining room and were served by the owner, a friendly and humble gentleman who insisted we come back when we stopped by in the summer. To our delight, he remembered us! I ordered the lamb ragou pappardelle and my family split an order of fries. I found my dish to be surprisingly hearty, with a rich sauce that wasn't too heavy. The al dente pasta graced with a dollop of ricotta and fresh basil created a balanced dish that wanted neither salt nor pepper, and could be enjoyed as is. It warmed me thoroughly on the coldest December evening of the year. This place is a hidden gem that could use some local love. It's right close to my barber so I definitely will be back.

Overall the food was pretty good; we shared a peach caprese salad and the gambas appetizer which were both delicious. I ordered the brisket which was also pretty flavorful and tender. All the food was also presented very artfully which caught me a bit by surprise. When we first arrived it was pretty empty so the server gave us a lot of attention, filling our glasses every couple minutes; however once more people arrived, it became very difficult to flag down the server for more water and the check, which took us probably almost 20 minutes of actively trying to wave him down.

I somewhat agree $20 might be pricey for some. The prices are based on the area. Also I didn't finish my waffle because I was full. I am not sure about traveling here being that is it small. The server (well I got the vibe she was one of the #2chix ) informed me pinkmas will be taking place this weekend. It is brunch event with pink themed everything in their event space downstairs I dined on a weekday at 11 am. I just know I will continue to come at that time. This place is good for a two person meet up 4 at the most.
