Excellent food service as always thank you very much franz.Dining in garden is superlative.

I came here about a month ago for dinner. I was scrambling to find something last minute and luckily we stumbled here. The portions I find a bit odd. For the chicken and macaroni and cheese dish, it only comes with one piece of chicken, which I find extremely odd considering the higher price point. Because of that, I ended up ordering the salmon burger which was pretty decent. I ordered a few drinks which were also decent, but for the price point nothing super special. Maybe the brunch scene here is a little better, but I probably wouldn't come back unless it was to check that out. read more

Food: 3/5 Atmosphere: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Drinks: 5/5 Don't walk too fast or you might miss This low key spot. It's in my neighborhood so I started to dine here for sheer convenience, but I've been increasingly impressed by the consistency in taste. The salmon burger is a standout, wings are pretty good too. Awesome happy hour during the week with $5 glasses of wine! read more

This was a cute little place I tried while visiting. We went here for brunch around opening time. There was no wait and the service was good. I ordered the shrimp and grits which was great! I was pleasantly surprised. My friend had the fried fish and she liked her meal as well. We didn't have to wait that long for our food to arrive either. There is plenty of outdoor and indoor seating available. I truly enjoyed the experience. read more

Came here for my extremely belated birthday dinner because they're 1. Black Owned and 2. Have backyard patio seating. 1. I came with a pary of 5(6 total). The hostess was so accommodating being that I was running late. They seated the other members of my party until I arrived. 2. There was a nice ambiance. Chill vibes, reggae playing in the background. You could dress up or down. 3. Waitress was quick with the drinks and the food came out in an acceptable amount of time. 4. My friends ordered the salmon with sauteed kale and the kale was a little too salty. However, they replaced it with fries and brought out freshly made, less salty kale, which was good 5. The fried chicken and mac and cheese was great 6. My brother had the steak frites and said they were good, however, the steak needed to be rendered a little more Overall, wonderful experience and I would definitely return but this time for brunch! P.S.: since the seating is outside, the mosquitoes were out but the waitress gave me some OFF bug spray which worked wonders. It was truly appreciated read more

Rustic Tavern was suggested to me for my Birthday Brunch. Our group had reservations for 11:00. We were greeted by Keith. I had read previous reviews about how wonderful he was and was thinking about requesting him but I didn't have to because he was our server. I ordered the shrimp and grits which were delicious. I also sampled the catfish which was very tasty. Of course we had unlimited screwdrivers and Keith was great about keeping them coming. Overall my birthday was off to a great start and I thank Rustic Tavern as well as their wonderful staff and last but not least Keith who was very nice and accommodating! Check Rustic out, you won't be disappointed. read more

I should've done this review sooner but i visited at the end of July. cute hipsterish space with exposed brick, that type of spot. it was saturday morning, there was music playing & it was a good mix too. the space was hosting two separate birthday brunches which took up most of the sitting space but my friends & i were able to find a spot at the bar. (there is also a back patio with a couple tables) we got unlimited mimosas for $20 & i definitely had my fill. i ordered the shrimp & grits- it was just okay. i mentioned to the server id like to add bacon she said sure but they wouldn't chop it for me, it would be served as is. kinda ridiculous but whatever, it's NY non-hospitable behavior is expected lol. I also ordered a side of home fries, they were very rustic indeed & pretty flavorless. I tasted my friends fish & it was panko breaded which imo gives the fish stick sort of flavor. my other friend got a wedge salad that was grilled & she really liked it. So yeah great service, nice space but mediocre food. read more

Loved Rustik Tavern! Went here for brunch and everything we ate was delicious! They have brunch entrees but also have their full menu available. I recommend the shrimp avocado tostones. They were delicious. However, for the price and all, I think they should have at least 4 plantains. Other than that everything was good! They also have deviled eggs which are hard to come across sometimes. As far as ambiance it was perfect. They have dimmed lights and great music playing in the background but not overly loud to the point where you can't hear each other. Definitely plan on going back. Lastly, Keith, our waiter, was amazing. We got the bottomless brunch option for an additional $23 and he made sure to refill and check up on us constantly. He made our experience better. read more

I wish I took pictures of the food, but it was too good! We had crab cakes, turkey burgers and fried cheesecake. I would highly recommend the blue cheese infused turkey burger. Sunday ended up being an unexpectedly beautiful day so I decided it would be the perfect time to head to Brooklyn to finally true the Rustik Tavern. Since I was dining solo, I took a seat at the bar. I started with a Mimosa. It was on point. I could decide between the Shrimp and Grits, my brunch option of choice, or the Dulce de Leche French Toast. To switch things up, I went with the sweet. I wasn't ready! The portion looked like I could handle it, but as I began to size up the plate, I had my doubts. I love when French Toast has a nice crisp and this did, and it was topped with caramel and a poached apple. Heavenly! Each bite was filled with sweetness which didn't stop me from still swirling it in the silky caramel sauce. It was so flavorful that I didn't need a ton of syrup either. Usually my French Toast almost swims with syrup! As much as I tried, I could not finish it. I sat at the bar for a bit before conceding. The service was great! The bartender anticipated my need for a refill without my saying a word. He even let me admire the Shrimp and Grits that my bar mate ordered. I will definitely try that next! read more

It's our favorite restaurant. We are practically family. Love it here. We have recommended all of our friends and family to come here.

Terrible service. Server came to take our orders and left in the middle of our ordering to check if an entree was in stock (said he'd be right back). Never came back. Went looking for him after 30 minutes to find out the entree was out of stock and no order was ever put in. We ended up leaving but not before our date night was ruined. Walked another mile to find a f&$&!?@ beyond burger. read more

I went here with a few girlfriends yesterday and I couldn't wait to write this review. Rustik Tavern was a damn good time. We made reservations for 2pm and were a tad tardy but the restaurant was very accommodating to that. The place is intimate and has a nice vibe to it. There was no dj at the time, but they played R&B that I personally love (SZA, HER, Solange to name a few). One negative is that the table we were seated was right by the fireplace, so there's a slight step down. the chairs tended to rock back and forth between the floor and the fireplace. I also almost fell. I wish I could remember what our server's name was because she was great. We all had bottomless mimosas ($20 per person) and she kept the pitchers coming for the entire 90 mins. The mimosas were strong and had the perfect champagne to orange juice ratio and we were definitely tipsy once leaving the restaurant. My food (I ordered a crab cake as a starter and the chicken and waffles) was great, hot and tasty! Not gonna lie, the crab cake was a bit pricey (1 cake for $14) but I was so hungry I didn't even care. The rest of the table ordered salad, steak and eggs, and the dulce French toast and everyone was pleased. Overall this experience was a pleasant surprise and so glad I went. Every time I'm back home, this is a must stop for me. I can't wait to come back and experience dinner! read more

Not that it's any surprise but Rustik Tavern has been my neighborhood cheers for over 10 years. Once again last night they didn't disappoint. This place is a hidden gem, I was working in one of my offices in bed- Sty and had just wrapped up a meeting in search for a Friday happy hour spot. At first, I was a bit hesitant to go in since outside didn't look so inviting. My friend who was with me assured me that I would like the place once I got it. She was spot on the outside looks like a hole in the wall, but once we stepped inside, the music was playing and the ambiance was chic and cozy. The happy hour started at 3 pm which was awesome, the place started getting packed and our server keith was the bomb. He catered to our every need and didn't wait for us to ask for a refill on the delicious passion fruit Margaritas he made for us. We also tried the oysters which were nice juicy and fresh. I will definitely be coming back and highly recommended this spot. I only tried the oysters but the food menu looked very good. read more

Food was really good. Beware of the "covid surcharge " Food a bit pricey to have a surcharge, overall decent experience.

I'm in love! I'm in love! I'm in love!! Today was my first time at Rustik for brunch and I am ridiculously impressed! Let's start with the wonderful hostess: Josi is personable, professional and courteous not only on the phone but in person. I was greeted with a warm smile and immediately lead to my table where my Sista-friend was waiting. Within a couple of minutes our server Kelly (who is just as wonderful) arrived at our table. We struck gold today! Kelly has the best table side manner and is incredibly on-point! She knows her menu well, answered our questions and we NEVER wondered where she was during our meal! She checked on us constantly, made sure our glasses stayed full and basically took great care of us! Now let's talk about the FOOD! I had the chicken and waffles. This CHICKEN was seasoned and cooked to perfection ....do you hear me??? Perfect balance of seasoning, crispy skin and the meat was tender and juicy! I'm not sure if my waffles were multi grain, whole wheat or what but I devoured them! Light and buttery with a minimal dusting of powdered sugar, sliced strawberries and whipped cream (not too much) once you add your maple syrup there's really nothing else to do but allow this dish to take you to happy town! And yes I did a little happy dance in my seat! Now my Sista-friend (aka BFF) had the shrimp and grits! Can someone say, slap yo' mama and kiss the cook? Come on somebody, this chef can throw down! Grilled shrimp, on top of what I believe was a tomato salsa (yum) and some of the thickest well seasoned cheese grits I've ever had!!! I love when you can eat grits with a fork!!! All of this and the wait was not long! We never once wondered if they went to the farm to get my chicken or if the chef was out on his shrimping boat... The timing was everything it needed to be! The atmosphere, perfect! Music selection? Nice and not too loud! Bathrooms? Clean! There was even an area where people were dancing!! The manager Emily (who I will be calling very soon) super -cool!!! Listen to me very carefully.....I need you to go to Rustik. Seriously! Go and enjoy yourself! You'll be glad you did!!! read more

Yeah, this place was poppin. I really enjoyed my brunch: ordered the steak and eggs/home fries and it was tasty. I got the bottomless brunch (bellinis) and the bartender filled up me and the bae's glasses without hesitation. Bae got the chicken and waffles which he enjoyed. The food did not take too long to come out. The vibe was cool and they played old school 70's R&B. Overall I was pleased. I think I may have finally found a brunch spot that boasts a bottomless brunch AND good food (rarer than a Mewtwo). Apparently it is also black owned, which is a plus. I will be returning. read more

I went to college w/the owner! One of the best spots in Bklyn! Yummy food & drinks. Dulce De Leche French Toast

Sunday Brunch is so a thing now...Idk how that happened but it has. This particular Sunday myself and few friends were celebrating a friend's birthday. Why not do it with a $30 boozy brunch. Yup, you read that correctly... $30 boozy brunch. That's a great price but, was it worth it?? We had 2:30 reservations... however since 1 of our party was 5 minutes late our table was given away. So there is no grace period. So we contemplated going somewhere else, but the hunger and fear of another place being just as packed kept us right there waiting. We were seated around 3ish...so now I just hope the food was worth it. We ordered and the food came out within 20mins or less. We had a house salad for the table that was one of the best salads I've ever had or I was just to hungry to think otherwise. 5 mins after the salad was destroyed entrees came out. I and a friend ordered the tres leches French toast...Amazing!!! No syrup needed but of course I added some. Steak and eggs, chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits. Of course the swapping ensued with everyone tasting each other's food. The steak and eggs were tasty, they season their egg...thank you!. The chicken was surprisingly good enough for me to want to actually go back and get that next time around...yall know how I feel about good fried chicken. The one dud seemed to be the shrimp and grits. I didn't taste it but my friend who go it only liked the shrimp. Maybe not enough seasoning in the grits. All and all it was worth the price and extra wait time. So I'm sure I'll partake again. read more

You know what's wrong with R. Kelly's "Step in the Name of Love" video? It wasn't shot in Brooklyn... I've wanted to learn how to Chicago step for some time now (it just looks so gosh darn grown and sexy), so when my cousin told me that there was going to be a Chicago Steppers brunch at Rustik Tavern, I told her to count me in. It was a really nice group of people, slightly older than me, which I liked because they knew good music...I had a delightful time. Rustik Tavern had me at hello. Appropriately named for its charming interior and wooden picnic table styled furnishings, this little eatery boasts southern leaning, comfort inspiring, soul food that makes you feel loved. In truth, I hadn't planned on staying to eat, but the food smelled so good that it distracted me from counting my steps - and I wasn't alone! After the Meetup was done, we went straight for the menu. I ordered the shrimp and grits (delicious), and French toast (tasty) and my mom ordered the Cesar salad, which she enjoyed. We also tried the chicken wings - they were very good. Outside of the food, let me say the atmosphere was also very nice. There was a laid back, neighborly vide that had me copping a squat and sharing my meal with two complete strangers. Service was good - I liked our waitress, though we all wished she would have smiled a bit more. All in all I'm on the fence as to whether you should stop by...I don't think I want it to become too popular, as the neighborhood feel is a huge draw. That said, if you PROMISE to keep this between you and me, I'd say definitely make a plan to stop by. read more

Rustik Tavern - American Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

So after relentless hours of researching places in Brooklyn with a bottomless brunch like my grad school thesis I gave up.. It's damn near impossible. But alas the mimosa gods shines down upon thee and bestowed me with a friend who referred Rustik to me. So I decided to give it a shot after the decent reviews and menu options that included the necessities. The weirdest part was that this place is located next to the PJs... I know I know who cares but this is the first brunch place I've seen across the street from pjs lol. Food: So on to Rustik, the hostess was very pleasant and had a good sense of humor which appealed to my sarcasm .. Kudos to you. The waiter dude was kool too.. Here's something (or 2:(/() you should know.. I think the menu online hasn't been updated or something. You get 1.5 hours of bottomless brunch drinks- not 2. Not a big deal but good to know .. I'm sure no one likes to get David Blained when it comes to their bottomless time limit. The bottomless deal is 30 cash which includes an entree of your choice. They have some good options- I came with two of my home girls whom had the shrimp and grits and the other had the steak and eggs with home fries .. Me? I thought I was all trendy when I said "I'll have the chicken and waffles." My chicken and waffles were what has to go down in history as the most regular tasting chicken and waffles I have ever vacuumed at brunch. It's seriously just okay... They should just call it "K".. It was good just not great. My friend says the shrimp and grits were damn good and finally the steak and eggs were the winner.. This serving of steak and grits is entirely epic. The plate was like bigger than my face and the portion looked like the cook got the bottomless option mixed up- good job! Drinks: The waiter did what I would call an "okay" job at keeping our glasses topped off. Could've been a bit better but I wasn't disappointed. The mimosas however were seriously kind of watered down.. I mean who do you think is coming to brunch Barney and friends? Spike that betch! Other than that this place is good with me.. I'll def be returning. Good to know: You don't have to get bottomless option in case something's wrong with your throat and don't want to get drinks. They add an extra 5 cash to the steak option and after my review... Rightfully so. read more

I really enjoyed my meal at Rustik Tavern. You enter and seat yourself whereever you would feel comfortable. The server came over right away and took our drink order. The restaurant has a bar and TVs and everyone seemed to be there for happy hour. We ordered our food and it didn't take long to come. We had: -The Grand Butcherboy Burger which was done just right with a side of fries which were delicious. They tasted like they were handout and fresh. -The Roasted Beet and Kale salad (with onions) which had a light dressing that was just enough to coat the leaves! -The Butcherboy Sliders (mini Turkey Burgers) with fries were just right! -The Sanford Salmon (Blackened salmon) with mashed potatoes and braised kale! The salmon was well seasoned and cooked so good! We opted to have dessert which was another pleasant treat! The brownie tasted freshly made and was topped with fudge and ice cream. The peach cobbler was warm with a cake like topping and also served with ice cream! We were pleased with both desserts. The only negative thing was the draft in the restaurant. They have an outdoor space which people seemed to be using for smoking. When the door would open a gush of cold air would come in. Perhaps a curtain would help to keep the draft away. Overall a great visit and I will definitely be back! read more

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG! I abso-freaking-lutely enjoy Rustik! It's always my go-to local spot for a drink, to eat some knee-buckling food, dance, sing karaoke (every third Thursday is Throwback Karaoke Night) and to meet friends (anybody I ever went to college with is always here). The Top 2 reasons why I love Rustik: #1. I knew I was gonna "ham it up" for karaoke. #2. I purposely didn't eat dinner before I left the house because the master plan was to sip on Rustik's Pink Lemonade and scarf down some Shrimp Scampi. Boy, DID I!! This is not your typical scampi. Jumbo shrimp topped with a creamy white sauce with tomatoes, herbs and black olives sitting on a bed of cubed bread. It was extra good this time too! I told the waitress, "you could put my plate back in the cabinet cause it is clean"!!. I highly recommend Rustik if you're looking for a place that constantly delivers consistent food, consistent, excellent service and a happening good time. read more

My best friend took me to Rustik for brunch. I must admit it was one of the best surprise of the month! The waiting list was 30min (better book online) We ended up with a nice table. Great ambiance. A true Brooklyn business. My eggs Benedict were perfectly cooked, hot and delicious (very rare), the bottomless mimosa is a good deal. Glass never empty. The waffles were on point (so tasteful) and the peach cobbler a good dessert. Service was ok (but it was very busy, so no judgment) I will definitely go back again and again and again! read more

Rustik as the name suggest represent something that is well aged. You get this feeling upon first walking in that this is not your modern restaurant/bar but one that has stood the test of time, the recession and the changes in this city. The patrons themselves evoke a sense of ownership and protection. They all have s vested interest in protecting the neighbor feel and reputation of this establishment. Karaoke night is a hit and the diversity in the crowd is a true reflection of BROOKLYN - it's spirit and energy. I have been have many times over he years and the bartenders and owner have been exceedingly friendly. I feel like family and whenever I want to have a little private time I come early in the afternoon and indulge in their salmon burger or signature hot wings. Droves of Sports fans gather for their fav Basketball or football games on the big screen and the energy and laughs is consistent. I love this place. Every city needs a RUSTIK!!!! read more

Rustik tavern is a cool neighborhood spot whether you're having weekend brunch or just hanging out at the bar for happy hour. There's a nice and spacious patio with sun umbrellas for the warmer degree days. They have a decent brunch menu with an "unlimited brunch" option; they do a good job of keeping your glass full. I had the steak and eggs here several times. The steak was well marinated like they stated and it wasn't chewy or tough. Reserve a table so you don't have to wait during brunch hours. Other than that the place is normally empty when I walk by so I'm certain walk ins are welcome. read more

Me and my bf have about 3 hours to kill before we gotta hustle our way over to JFK via subway, so we decided to come in get a couple of beers and some food before we left New York for good. I came in expecting their "dinner" menu, (I guess I got confused from their menu online). I was really craving mussels, but they were only serving brunch. Our server Natasha was nice enough to ask the chef though about the mussels so she definitely got some brownie points for that! And although I didn't get my mussels, I did get some decent shrimp and grits! The grits were easily a solid 4/5.. the grits were just slightly dry and just needed a little bit more milk or cream to soften them up. The shrimps were yummy, but I wished there was more.. if I had known I would have been more than happy to pony up more $$ for more shrimps. They were nicely grilled and really juicy, done just right. My boyfriend got the sliders, and although I didn't get to try them, they did look delicious! The fries that came with them were great too. No complaints.. Lastly we ordered two scoops of vanilla ice-cream for $2.00, again our thoughtful server brought us some chocolate sauce on the side.. just because! A perfect meal in my book before our trip to JFK. Thanks Rustik BTW Rustik offers a boozy brunch that ends at 4, I am unsure if its weekends only, but the concept is awesome. You can order any entree you like and then get unlimited drinks for 2 hours. Pretty cool. read more

Cold Food... Saturday, September 7, 2019 2pm: friends were in town to celebrate turning 50. Party of 5 arrived at 2pm, placed our orders and here is where the problems started. 45 minutes later, no food.
