Food - ate two items. The cauliflower bites and the potato leek/reindeer sausage pizza. The cauliflower bites were delicious. They look like fried fish when they come out. They're breaded lightly with some delightful spices. They come on a bed of salsa and cream (like a sour cream) I enjoyed the salsa especially. The pizza was interesting and mostly good. The sausage reminded me of kielbasa. The carmelized onions have a roasted flavor and consistency. The potatoes were soft and tasty. I think they must boil them before they put them on the pizza. The dough was soooo soft. Think of a garlic knot. If they had garlic knots the dough would be perfect. The one hang up was the jalapeños or the garlic sauce . They added a weird spice that overwhelmed my taste buds. Ambiance - amazing and elegant. From the tables to the beams in the ceiling, I was impressed. The windows were amazing. So much light and beautiful views. Notables - there were three huge bins of sauces by the kitchen. They all looked delicious. Should have asked to try. If the sun is out, sit outside. Cleanliness - everything was very clean. When we were seated, they wiped off our table and there was maybe two crumbs in the whole thing. Service - this was just okay. Outstanding find in Anchorage. We enjoyed our meal much more than at the highest rated restaurants dined at over the previous two weeks. Watermelon salad, elk, king salmon and Moroccan cauliflower were spot on. Service was superb. The organic Malbec was smooth and delicious. On a Sunday evening, they were the only restaurant we visited that appeared to be adequately staffed despite every table full and twenty people waiting. We could not get a same-day reservation; however, we were seated in 10 minutes and when we told our waiter that we were on a tight schedule to catch our plane back to Houston, he took special care to time everything so we even had opportunity for their cheesecake and raspberry ale ice cream float. The food is PHENOMENAL and plenty of drink options too. Our first time in Anchorage and a friend recommended here. I had the vegan stir fry which was a little spicy for me and unexpected. The following night though.. I had the ahi dinner and it was AMAZING. The sauce, the Brussels sprouts and fish... seriously the best ahi dish I have ever had. The wait times weren't too long if you're there late around 6pm and the service tends to be just a littleeee slower but totally worth going to. I have been coming here for years and it used to be my absolute favorite place in Anchorage! The service is and always has been good tonight was no exception to that :) I will say, over the years the food quality has gone down and I think my experience today will be the last. I've had the vegan stir fry in the past and it was very good, now I'm pretty sure they've switched up the noodles and everything just lacked flavor and very oily. Honestly disappointing for the cost, I just can't justify the cost for the quality of the food. Rest of family got the gyro which said it tasted like shredded beef more than lamb. Other member got the burger and stated it was dry, overcooked and just lacking flavor. The atmosphere is still amazing as always, but like I said: I can't justify the price of the food for the quality that I've received recently. Would gladly go back in the future if things improved, I definitely want to continue to like this place but at this time it's not the same as it was. read more

The "drunken clams" is one of my favorite dishes! They also make some amazing pizza. The servers are great and check in frequently ensuring we are taken care of. There is open seating on the first floor and reserved seating on the second with a balcony. 10/10 recommend the Rustic Goat. read more

We had an acceptable/good experience coming here. The interior is well designed and attractive. If it hadn't been so very loud inside, I'd probably have bumped to 4 stars given how nice it is. I ordered the seafood chowder and it was good. My friend had the bison sliders. We assumed they came with fries or a side. They did not. It was $9 for a slider. That's pretty steep for a mini burger. He ended up having to buy additional food given that there were no fries or other side. Service was fine. Not wowing, not bad, just normal. If in town again, we'd consider coming back. read more

Ok. So part of my rating is I think I ordered the worst item. The Gyro is an insult to Gyros around the world. Some kind of strange patty inside a pita and the sides served for you to assemble. I was so upset with this dish. Sadly I was watching food go to other tables and was drooling at how good those items looked. I had driven past this place on several occasions, I was hesitant to try it out due to their current yelp ratings. However, I regret not coming in sooner!!!! Omg the food was delicious . I had their berry salad, nachos, classic burger and lamb gyro. The salad dressing was sweet but not over powering the berries, it had blueberries, blackberries and raspberries with arugula. Then the half order of nachos feeds easily 2-3 ppl. The candied jalapeños it comes with soooo good perfect combo of spicy with sweetness. Then the classic burger, it's exactly that classic taste with an abundance of cheese. The lamb gyro was the only thing I wasn't blown away. But the pita bread was warm and fluffy it was perfect , the feta cheese creamy and delicious. The only thing I was ok with was the lamb, I'm more of a traditional lamb gal for my gyros, but that's just me. The service was amazing, they were accommodating and attentive. The decor inside is rustic with an industrial feel. Overall, I loved the food, service and decor. Now my only regret is not coming here sooner. read more

My Husband and I came here for dinner on Friday night. We haven't been in since before covid when it was one of our favorites and go to. On Friday, we were very pleasantly surprised! Rustic Goat had completely changed up its menu and has a new Chef on staff (since we had been in). The food was absolutely phenomenal! I had the Elk tenderloin which was to die for. The meat was perfectly prepared and the flavors were complex but all fit together perfectly. My husband had the duck breast and that was equally as incredible! We ordered food for 3 to go, they forgot our pizza. The manager didn't even have the decency to compensate us for the inconvenience when we called back. Keep it mind we ubered there and back to our hotel, we were visiting from California and couldn't just get a credit for future us nor spend the money to round trip Uber again. They could have refunded us enough to make out day because one out of 3 of our family was not able to eat because they forgot 1 entire meal. Think of what that does to everyone else, we didn't get to eat as a family, we had to wait until my son left to get his own meal and bring it back and by that time our food was cold when we were finally able to eat as a family. Really hate an establishment that is simply looking out for their bottom line. Place is packed with at least a couple of dozen waiting for a table and I'm just a single waiting for a seat at the bar, not a table. Hostess informed me that I would have to wait to be seated at the bar. After about a 20 minute wait, 2 seats open up at the bar and as told I wait and then 2 people walk in and swoop seats. Hostess meekly says sorry. I said I waited as she told me and again she just said sorry. With out a doubt it was all about serving 2 versus 1, eff em, restaurants come and go. I love this restaurant. I usually come here for breakfast so I can't really rate the dinner food although I'm sure it's fantastic. But lemme just say I LOVE their breakfast food. I usually get the classic breakfast and the potatoes are delicious. Crispy and seasoned, they are my favorite potatoes in town. They have a cinnamon roll of the day and they are always such great and interesting flavors. The best one I've ever tried was during Christmas time, they had a cinnamon gingerbread one and it's the best cinnamon roll I've ever had. Hands down. They also have the best mochas in town (in my opinion of course), I don't know what kind of chocolate the use but it's so rich and delicious. I love it more than black cup coffee. This review is with regards to poor customer service. We called 2 days (Saturday) prior to make a reservation for a party of 7 and was confirmed by the hostess for 5pm. Upon arrival, there was a sign at the door said that they were CLOSED for Memorial Day. We were upset to find this and extremely disappointed for our party was large. We even drove all the way from across town. Rustic Goat didn't even have the COURTESY to call us back and let us know that they will be closed, so that we could've made prior arrangements to our plan. We were excited to try this place out, but now we're unsure. We ended up scrambling afterwards to find a place to eat for dinner and found a lovely Korean restaurant nearby called Hometown. A friend from out of state was craving clams. They have the best clams in creamy white wine sauce that comes with sausages and freshly baked bread akin to nan. Sauce is delicious. We ordered two large servings of the drunken clams (supposedly for 3-4 people). One was not enough for the three of us but two were a bit too much. I picked a verdejo to go with the clams. Was not a bad choice but not impressed with the wine. Our leftover was nicely packed by our waitstaff. Really enjoyed our experience. Service was excellent. Make a reservation or come early. My wife and I stopped her by recommendation from her coworker. Our first time in Alaska, we figured we'd check it out. Pretty cool place. The food is delicious, service is friendly although our server seemed a little bored out of his mind.... I was surprised when I received my dinner. I haven't had a Gyro in a while and figured I'd try theirs. I've never had or seen a Gyro with a lamb patty instead of shaved lamb. I guess they used ground lamb, made a burger patty, cooked it like a burger and then cut it in half. It was delicious, just not quite what I expected. Love rustic goat! my husband and I came in often, even celebrated here after we got married! The nachos are amazing and one of our favorite must haves every time we come in. This visit was with the in laws they love the nachos as well and need there fix before traveling back home 5,000 miles.
