We actually visited this brewery twice, so I'm kind of combining both experiences into one review. The first time we stopped by on a Friday, and the place was absolutely packed. There were just too many people, so we decided to grab dinner elsewhere and come back another day. The next afternoon, we returned hoping for a less crowded experience, and we're glad we did. The female hosts were very friendly and let us know the rooftop bar had just opened, so of course we had to check it out! The bartenders were all wicked chill, and the views from upstairs were amazing. We loved the unique beer flavors and combinations, and the flight options let us sample quite a variety. Although we didn't try any food, they do have a food menu available. The entire place was very clean, which we appreciated. There is metered street parking both in the front and behind the building, so if you can't find a spot out front, be sure to check the back street. Overall, we highly recommend this brewery if you're visiting the area and would definitely stop by again!

Great food choice in the Anch airport ! The atmosphere was relaxing and open. Service was great and food was a solid 8/10. I also ordered a Paloma that was out of this world good ! Overall, if you're looking for a quick bite with some great options this is your spot. You have to try the seafood chowder

    The crabby grilled cheese!!

Stopped in for some lunch as the crab sandwich was recommended by Jesse our tour guy! We had that and the Wrangell burger , both were delicious! Elk burger is filling and seasoned perfectly while the crabby is ample and we shared both 1/2 each ! We also tried the local sodas they make. Blueberry cream soda and Rootbeer! We are not soda drinkers but these are great! We took some spruce tip soda and white birch with us too! Great location, great gift shop! Highly recommend the 49th state! Get here and try it all !

Outstanding experience here last night. This was a business dinner, and although it was very busy with a long line, we were treated with amazing hospitality, which made the wait for a table completely worthwhile. This also went with the great customer service experience, very attentive even though every table taken, very impressive. The lime seltzer water is a must if you do not drink. The burger was delicious, cooked properly. And fries were great. Great lively ambience, just an absolute pleasure.

My friends and I started with the crab and artichoke appetizer which was nice and similar to a spinach artichoke dish. I then got the yak burger, which was really good. I was worried the yak meat would be gamey, but there were a lot of sauces on the burger and at the end it just tasted like beef. The burger is big and messy in the best way possible, and the fries were good! The fry sauce is a mix of bbq and some other sauces which was tasty. Highly recommend the food, and my friends really enjoyed their beer!

Stopped in for lunch between our cruise drop off and flight departure. The place was hopping on a Monday afternoon (Memorial Day). It was "seat yourself," and we found a two top. The servers seemed a little new, but the service was good and friendly. They carry Frontier brand sodas which we found to be excellent for their flavor. We got root beer and ripe raspberry soda. I ordered the Chili AK Salmon Bowl which our server confirmed is wild salmon. My wife ordered the Pulled Pork Sandwich with fries. Both meals were really good. I especially liked the sauce on the salmon bowl so much so that I asked for a little more only to be charged for the extra sauce. I also noticed they include a service charge on the bill (note that this was not gratuity). They told us it was to help them get seasonal labor and to cover overhead. Maybe this is an Alaska thing, but with menu prices as high as these, why would you need to add a service charge? Pricing and nickel & diming aside, I would recommend this place.

Packed house, amazing vibe, and great service! There was a long line, but we luckily grabbed two seats at the bar. They have an awesome selection of beers, cocktails, and mocktails. The food was spectacular. The fish and chips featured perfectly crunchy, buttery, and flaky seasoned halibut (the absolute star of the night), though the fries were good too. The creamy seafood chowder was also a massive hit--packed with clams, fish, and crab, and served with warm bread and homemade butter. Oh they also have a bier garden next to the restaurant. A total gem if you're a local, and an absolute must-visit if you're in town!

As a solo traveler this was an amazing stop. I didn't have to wait at all as I could sit by the bar to order food and drinks. Average wait for a party was 30-45 mins when busy. The Halibut dish was phenomenal. Absolutely loved the sauce on the vegetables and the Parmesan crust on it. I also love that this bar does flights. Able to try a variety of different beers and ciders for a good price. They offer a small side of caramel popcorn with your drinks. The artichoke crab dish was delicious but a particular flavor. Have to love crab and the sourness of the artichoke to fully enjoy it. I did miss that it didn't come with any chips. Instead it came with pita bread. I was missing that crunch value. This restaurant for food is a little bit more on the pricier size for entrees. Roughly $35 and up. Appetizers are the cheaper option around $15.

We were in Anchorage for only a few hours to catch a flight the next morning. So glad we found this place! Ary was a wonderful server and we loved the crab stuffed jalapeños and the crab and artichoke dip, as well as our cocktails and beers. The views from the third level were so cool! There was also music in the beer garden, which we wish we would've had time to enjoy. Highly recommend this place!

While in Anchorage, we wanted to taste the fresh fish we kept hearing about. Our entrees were super delicious and fresh. We split the smoked salmon and also the fish and chips and really enjoyed them. The craft beer paired perfectly with our meal. The servers work well as a team and our orders were quick and easy. The atmosphere in the bar is a little rustic and almost felt like a lodge. I would recommend this place if you're downtown.

One of my favorite stops in Alaska. The beer was excellent. The pretzel was huge! Service from Carlos and Abby behind the bar was great. I loved the vibe and wish I was in the area for a longer period of time.

In Anchorage for my baby daddy's work trip and was craving fish and chips. I saw all the good ratings on here and wasn't expecting to experience such horrible service. Right when we entered it was a question of whether we would like to sit upstairs or if you chose to sit downstairs it was first come first serve with any empty table you find. The hostess was very adamant with telling us if we chose to sit at the long wooden table downstairs that we must sit at only the ends of the table. Weird but ok...considering the long table was completely empty during our entire visit. So we sat down and never saw a server come to our table. My baby daddy went to tell someone that we were ready to order and they said they would find our server. When our server came to us, his name was Ryan. He couldn't look me in the eyes and you could tell he was annoyed that he had to work. Never asked us if we wanted anything to drink. He also messed up a small modification in our order and when my baby daddy asked about it he was mumbling things and walked away. He was definitely a little off to me or maybe just hates his job? The fish and chips were decent. They came out warm not hot which is a first for me with fish and chips. The fries were bland and a little limp lol. The sauces with the fish and chips were good. The batter wasn't as crispy as I hoped. Oh and they didn't give me my side of coleslaw that was supposed to come with my meal but I didn't realize it until later. Anyways, the service really left a bad taste in my mouth...will never return nor recommend, not that they care anyways! Lol

The beer was good. I ordered the nitro stout which was very good. For dinner I ordered the Parmesan crusted halibut served with mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. I would have preferred grilled or blacked halibut but it was still pretty good.

Yes, and if you're more comfortable, there is a full regular dining space that's not the bar area located upstairs.

Hello, Happy hours for drink specials are not allowed per Alaskan liquor laws. The pub often has pop-up to go beer specials and other great offerings though.

Unfortunately, they do not offer beer flights, so Colby created his own half-glass sampler, which did the trick. The brewery itself was pretty neat, with large beer barrels incorporated into the décor, including one that guests can actually sit in. Their beer selection was on the smaller side, but we felt the prices were fair. I ordered the Blind Berry Cider, which had a pleasantly tart flavor, though it leaned toward the extra sour side. We thought this spot was great for Instagram photos and a worthwhile stop if you have some extra time while you're in town. Overall, it was okay. I do wish we had known about the outdoor seating options beforehand, as we found the indoor seating area to be somewhat limited. The glassware was pretty cool as well, with several different sizes available. The bathrooms were clean, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. We would definitely return if we find ourselves back in town again.

They kept not coming up in the IG search results...weird. I initially was worried they went out of business because it said their IG page was down. Never in my 267 brewery reviews on Yelp has a brewery blocked me from their IG. (that I know of, lol) My only interactions with them on IG are to re-share their reels so my friends know what beers they have on tap or what food truck is out front. I guess if I had to guess it would be that my 3-star review about their being the only brewery in Anchorage that doesn't allow you to taste their beer first must've struck such a nerve that they researched to find what IG account is connected to my Yelp account, and then blocked me. Really disappointing, I always thought the owner/brewer seemed cool but I guess he has thin skin. Their Anchorage-style Pilsner is still one of the best beers in town, hopefully I'll get a pint tonight. Last night I had a west coast IPA and a Cold IPA. Both were good. The fact that you have 3 different IPAs on tap combined with a 3 drink limit by the state of Alaska...really speaks to why tastes are helpful. Still the worst name of any brewery.
