Excellent spot. Don't miss it in Anchorage. Great food, service, drinks. Friendly staff. Great decor.

The food was awesome and the place is decorated nicely. The service could have been a little better due to the fact it took forever for the server to bring our to go containers. I will say their Wedge salad was pretty darn tasty. Their sandwiches come with fries but you don't get a bunch of fries. One of our guys has the salad and to add a skewer of steak the cost was $19 which I thought was rather steep. Overall the food was really good, I would definitely come back. For me a burger or sandwich would be for 2 meals. I did get the steak sandwich and that was really tasty.

Great night at the 49th State. Enjoyed our visit, albeit it was Valentine's Day. Found a couple seats at the bar for the 3 of us business travelers. The place was pretty full up, families, couples, etc. serious buzz in the place. The team behind the bar, was amazing. Laura was our person, did an awesome job of helping us and really engaging with us. We all ordered something different. Fish & Chips, Chicken Strips, Flat bread. All of the entrees were awesome. Good sized portions, did not leave hungry. Thank you Laura (and team), we really appreciate you!

My coworker and I dropped in for a late lunch at 49th State Brewing, and we were honestly impressed from the moment we walked in. It's a nice, welcoming establishment with plenty of space, and parking is available across the street, which made things easy. Our waiter was extremely kind and friendly. He walked us through the specials, offered recommendations, and brought over a drink menu. We each ordered a drink, I went with a local stout that reminded me of Guinness, just much tastier and smoother. Definitely something I'd come back for. We mentioned that we were in the mood for halibut, and our waiter immediately recommended the panko-crusted halibut, saying it was his personal favorite. He was right. The dish was outstanding--tender, perfectly cooked halibut with a crisp panko crust, served with a mash red-potato and drizzled around the plate was a light white lemon cream sauce. Everything complemented each other perfectly. One of the best halibut plates I've had in Anchorage. We wrapped up our late lunch with dessert: a bread pudding and a blackberry crème brûlée. The bread pudding was warm, perfectly cooked, and served with a rich cream sauce that pulled it all together. The crème brûlée was delicate with a subtle blackberry hint that enhanced the flavor without overpowering it. Overall, fantastic service, excellent food, and a great atmosphere. We'll definitely be returning the next time we're in Anchorage.

Amazing! Restaurant gets packed with patrons on weekday evenings. Must be HH calling or be in the happening spot! Female server provided top notch recommendations. Very accommodating and forward thinking. She exceeded our expectations and went above and beyond in customer service. Ambiance is more upscale. You're welcome to dress comfortably considering or factoring weather. Bring your appetite for Parmesan and Asiago Crusted Halibut. Tasted fresh and outstanding! Lightly breaded crust on outside with soft, moist halibut on the inside. Garlic smashed potatoes were divine! Loved the 49th State's Premium Lemonade with strawberries and thyme. Felt and tasted like a mocktail. Mixologist took lemonade and elevated this beverage to a whole new level. I'm not able to comment on the flight of four beers from lightest to darkest. I let my Tito enjoy it all for the evening. My Tito finished all of his beers. Walking distance from free metered parking after 5 PM in downtown Anchorage. Restrooms located inside the restaurant. Highly recommend to all visitors and residents, plus order food with shape of AK state symbol. Worth visiting!

Great service, with a great variety of food for our large group buffet lunch. Had a little of everything...salads, salmon, chicken, fish, and I have to say everyone went back for Mac and cheese seconds, of all things! Gorgeous decadent desserts-many took at least three. I didn't, because I wanted to taste test all the unique varieties of sodas brewed down the street- sales of which overtook the beer sales, actually! And each special can had their own caloric content;)! Birch, ripe raspberry, blueberry cream, cloudberry, and I didn't even get to try the sparkling waters. All included in the lunch! The brewery is responding to the demands of the times for non alcoholic options and they are killing it! We were set up downstairs in a private room which has its own bar and restrooms. Highly recommended party venue!!!!

    Buffalo burger with tater tots

TL;DR: I came here alone but it looks like a great place for group gatherings for sports and food. Buffalo burger is legit good. I was in Anchorage for business trip and found this unhidden gem on yelp. I say that because this is the second time coming here and it's always packed. So that's good right? Since I can alone they out me at the bar or on a shared table with other small parties because it seems like the tables are reserved for larger groups. The place is busy what seems like all the time. Las time I had fish n chips which if your in Alaska it should be pretty good fish and it was. But this time around I went with the waiters recommendation and went with the Buffalo Burger with tater tots. I've had buffalo burger before but this nine was much tastier and had and was so messy like a good big burger should. It was good and with jalapeños and cheese it was on point. Highly recommend this place and you have to try the buffalo burger or fish n chips. The guy next to me had nachos and they were piled high and look good too.

    Blankets for everyone!

Our party of four arrived as soon as they opened and since it was a nice day we opted to sit on the patio. They have blankets available at every table for every seat, it is AK after all! The menu for food and beverages offers a lot of choices and everything was delicious.

I would definitely recommend the 49th in town. NOT THE AIRPORT location. The downtown location is lively and yummy. They are very busy all the time so go early if possible. I loved to cucumber infusion drink and the crab stuffed poppers. Wedge salad is fab. Fun place. I would really like to go in the summer when the outdoor area is warmer.

Had such a lovely experience here. The food was flavorful, the service was friendly, and the space felt cozy and welcoming. I also appreciated the non-alcoholic choices. Definitely a place worth visiting

    Asiago and Parmesan Crusted Halibut

Go here for the beer and stay for the food. Went early dinner time on a Tuesday and was not disappointed. Very solid selection of beers and cocktails and you can never go wrong with seafood in Anchorage. Ordered a nitro stout and the Asiago and Parmesan Crusted Halibut--talk about a great dish and the perfect amount of food. Vibes and service were good. A+

Seafood chowder and lager loaf.. Golden Dall beer in the back.
    Nadine R.

I had a late lunch at 49th state brewing. I enjoyed a bowl of seafood chowder that has Alaska king salmon, Kachemak Bay halibut and tender clams. I had a lager loaf to go with it but it was dry and inedible even with butter. The service was excellent. A guy next to me had the Yak burger and it looked delicious.

    Mexican street corn
    Prajakta G.

The ambience of the place, specially on the rooftop was good. However the food was below par and the service was mixed. Mexican street corn was decent, but the crispy cauliflower was neither crispy nor tasty. It was dipped in way too much sauce on the outside and watery/soft on the inside. The Margherita pizza (not pictured) was way below par. The sauce and the cheese were not what I would expect. The service was mixed with the hostess being unable to communicate clearly or politely. The servers on the other hand were friendly but not always on top of getting water or cutlery.

Yes, and if you're more comfortable, there is a full regular dining space that's not the bar area located upstairs.

It's like a croissant baked in a waffle form, but a bit denser than a regular croissant. What really made it special was the Ube cream -- a light, buttery frosting that wasn't too sweet. Easily a 10/10 for me. I also ordered the Ube Cruffin, which had that same croissant-like texture in a muffin shape. The inside had a light cream filling, and the top was covered with the same Ube cream. It was good, but not quite as amazing as the Croffle -- 7/10. The Ham Banh Mi was tasty and filling (6/10), and the Boba Milk Tea was decent too (6/10). Oh and I got to taste their smoked salmon chowder that my friend ordered. Very good flavor, body, and richness (8/10). Everything I had was good but nothing that was as memorable as the Ube Croffle, but it wasn't cheap -- I spent a total $32 for a sandwich, drink and 2 pastries. Then again, prices in Alaska tend to be higher in general. Overall, even though I've only been once, I'd definitely come back for that Ube Croffle -- it was the real highlight!
