Local cafe - good service - excellent breakfast! Another time I had lunch, it was reasonable and tasty! Recommended this place if downtown!

This place lives up to all the top reviews! The food was fabulous. We had the Halibut sandwich wi the fries and Halibut Plate with coleslaw and upped the fries to onion rings. So excellent! The fish is not greasy nor the fries or onion rings! You would think everything was air fried! They tell me it's not but they use separate oil fryers for fish versus the veggies. We also checked out a Cupid reindeer chili! Made me want to eat chili more. Reindeer meat not distinctive but eh come back and try the reindeer hash if you must. Reindeer typically super lean. Great chili and you can get it topped with cheese and onions. Great service! Super friendly and efficient! Seat yourself and follow their rules! They're posted. Walk up to the cash register to check out! I'm only here for two days and hope I make it there again tomorrow!

Incredible service from the moment we walked in. We were greeted by someone looking at us, not just arbitrarily calling out a greeting. Super clean, very homey. Old school style patty melt is off the chain! Housecut fries, perfection! The halibut sandwich is everything I wish and hope for. Not sloppy or wet, perfectly prepared. Again, the fries! The grill is right out in the open, the cooks carried on friendly conversation with diners while they worked. Our soda refills came quickly and without prompting. I imagine a group of old men meeting for morning coffee, laughing and busting up, being a regular scene. This place totally lives up to the hype, and is incredibly affordable. I can't wait to come again.

Service was fast and friendly. Pick your own seats. I ordered a cheeseburger and I wasn't disappointed. The lettuce was nice a crunchy, crisp tomatoes, tasty pickles. The fries were delicious too natural cut fries love that! They, also have great old school music playing. Thank you to the cooks! Alaska knows how to make a good burger at this little spot downtown Anchorage. Small town feel if that is your cup of tea. Friendly vibes and welcoming. The name throws you off depending on the audience, however great place for a quick simple meal. I might have to try the halibut for lunch.

Fast and friendly service. Love the atmosphere in there. Lots of Coke memorabilia. Food was great, will have to go back to try their famous halibut sandwich.

Had the Halibut Sandwich with coleslaw. This place has the best coleslaw in Alaska. Coming from Oklahoma I have been disappointed by coleslaw in Alaska until today. Service was great. The halibut sandwich was delicious as well.

Born and raised Alaskan and finally made it to the White Spot Cafe.. It didn't disappoint!! Cheeseburger and fries were great. Homemade fries are the best.. staff was friendly. Best part was we got parking right in front!!

Fried Halibut platter with coleslaw and French fries.

I finally tried this location based on a coworkers recommendation. My first choice was the halibut sandwich. I changed my mind and got the halibut platter. It was 3 pieces of fried halibut, coleslaw, and French fries with a sweet tea. Everything was on point. I see why this restaurant gets rave reviews. The staff is proud of their food that is prepared. The restaurant is clean and nicely laid out. Parking is available curbside or at a nearby parking lot. Cash/Credit/Debit are accepted here.

We got into town late last night.. ok it was 9pm local time but our bodies said it was 1am as we are from the eastern time zone. This morning we needed food and wanted to get downtown. I put in an address for our uber driver to take us to but we asked him where locals go and he told us The White Spot. This local diner reminded me of where I grew up (upper midwest). It is small and friendly and fast and good. Growing up eating venison, it is my goal on our Alaskan vacation to eat a lot of venison so I got the reindeer sausage omelet. Yum! Do it. Eat some reindeer sausage. They also serve lunch so if breakfast isn't your thing and you are downtown, try them for lunch. They had a reindeer chili on the specials board that I was tempted to get. We are only in town for a day before heading to Seward to catch a cruise but if we were going to be here two days I would go back for lunch to see if that chili is as good as my mom's chili!

    Famous Halibut Sandwich with coleslaw

We decided we had to go to this place after the rave reviews about their halibut sandwich. Our server was friendly and helpful. I ordered the famous halibut sandwich with coleslaw and my husband ordered the halibut melt sandwich with fries. The famous sandwich is famous for a reason! Big piece of halibut topped with lettuce tomatoes and tartar sauce. I did ask for extra tartar because I'm a saucy kind of gal! The slaw has a pleasant kick to it. Very tasty! My husband enjoyed his sandwich and the fries were crispy yet soft in the inside. Just how fries should be. The star of the show was the Famous sandwich though. If you're in Anchorage you gotta try it. Remember, they're only open until 3 so get a move on.

I'll be dreaming about this sandwich

This review is pretty much based solely on the halibut fish sandwich. THE BEST FISH SANDWICH. Basically an elevated filet-o-fish. Perfectly crushed panko, fresh, tender piece of halibut, tangy and creamy tartar sauce, and just enough lettuce to add crunch stuck between soft pieces of bread. The fries were steak fries style and also cooked well. They were really nice and have a great variety of hot sauces (I counted at least 7 sauces). Loved the cafe vibe inside this unassuming strip of stores. Definitely worth going to if you're in Anchorage. Loved it and will come back if we're ever in Anchorage.

One of my favorite bakeries I look forward to going to when I visit Anchorage. The variety of…read morepastries breads, soups and sandwich they have always look mouthwatering. It's just a cute place to vibe at and be around the community. There is a coffee shop, plant shop, juice shop and small market in the same building which makes it worth the stop. The seasonal ginger bread chia tea from the coffee shop is like Christmas in your mouth. The turkey sandwich is like thanksgiving with cranberry sauce and pecans. The sweet potato burban cupcake was actually to die for. The cake was moist with a carm filling of pecans and bourbon topped with a light cream cheese frosting. I'm never disappointed with fire island. A jem in anchorage.

The sausage was good though, and a bit salty, which might have balanced the seasoning in this item but the chunks were too few and big to be balanced. - messy egg salad sandwich: a lot of dill, heavy on the pickled flavor, and good red onion crunch. This was just ok. It looked better than it tasted, unless you're a fan of dill. Mainly got this sandwich to try their bread but the bread was an afterthought. - maple rhubarb muffin: hard pass. Can't taste the rhubarb and barely any maple. The bottom also was more burnt than anything. It seems they may have over mixed their batter, muffin didn't have a tender crumb.
