I had a small steak with bordelaise sauce, mashed potatoes, and a few scallops and it was just over $80. The steak was medium rare as requested but the rub was way too salty and the bordelaise made it worse. Too much of a good thing wasn't good. For the price I was pretty bummed out hence the 3 star rating. Chowder and the burger were also ordered by my party. Those were great. If you order the steak, pass on the sauce or request lighter seasoning. Calamari was very good. Overall it's a good dinner spot for a special occasion but definitely on the expensive end for what you get. It was Good. But lemme tell you about it to help you make up your mind! First time eating here, wasn't disappointed. Ate here as a party of five. As big chowder heads me and my husband had to stop in here. They had really upscaled the interior from the previous village inn design while keeping the layout which works well. The staff was super friendly and helpful, giving us the idea to order the chowder sampler. We got the Rustic, Salmon, and Sea Harvest. Hands down, my favorite is the Sea Harvest Chowder! It had the perfect consistency with the perfect amount of savory and good seafood-to-veg ratio. I wish I could ship a whole vat home! 5/5 stars for Sea Harvest. The others were good and can beat any chowder LA has, but Sea Harvest is the goat. My server was Philip and I thought he was great! Used Open Table to reserve a table for 3 for lunch. It was not busy whwn we arrived. I ordered 2 flights of chowders as it is my first time so I had to try all 5 chowder. I think my favorite was the Dawson. I forgot what chowder was what bc it's not labeled. Labeling would be a great help. I did not like the Manhattan (tasted and felt like veggie soup. However, it is not Alaskan seafood but East coast based. I heard the chef is from Maine and she does the authentic, cold lobster roll. We came here on a whim because our other two places we tried were a no go. It was about 7:30 Saturday night and they were pretty empty. We walked right in and sat down. It is kind of "fancy" with table cloths and such. We only got the chowder flight and the lobster rolls(comes with two and French fries) easily $50 for the two items. The chowder flight was good, happy to sample the different ones. They were rich and creamy each with their own flavors. A couple pieces of shell but very tiny pieces. Pretty small samplings but enough to enjoy each bite and share. $9 I think. The lobster rolls are served cold, heafty amount of lobster, served on a soft roll with fries. The fries were battered and a good amount. The menu is kind of small and I'm not sure what I would get next time. I also don't like to eat at this price point very much so not sure I would return. read more

Cool experience visiting this location. The idea of the clam chowder flight had me sold, and all three were scrumptious. All three were evaporated quickly! Note they are bacon-based, so may be limiting for some. I loved that there were good "chunks" of seafood that you could taste. The decor is a warm contemporary feel, and has a bar area and regular dining area. There are options of both beer and wine, and I enjoyed being able to choose from both. In terms of entree, I wanted to love the Lobster Bowl but unfortunately it wasn't stellar. Don't get me wrong that the lobster is plentiful, and deliciously flavorful- however, I thought the lobster got lost in the rice and the corn juice. Richard and i both opted for the Lobster Rolls which came with a side salad. In speaking to the co-owner/server the bread is flown in from Maine - so this is a legit Lobster roll. The meat is also flown in, not fresh picked from live lobster unfortunately, but I really wouldn't have known had I not asked. It was excellent. The deriving was generous and since we started with chowder, we each had a leftover lobster rolls to bring home for lunch the next day - BONUS.... My mom ordered the scallops carbonara and it looked very good, scallops appeared to be seared perfectly. She at most of it too and it was a hearty portion. She did say, she thinks she will order the lobster rolls next time. They are a beer and wine only establishment, but the upside was, they did have the only beer I really like - Matanuska Backwoods Blue. Mom, had prosecco and Richard - some kind of beer that he likes.
