I had heard about this place while on the airplane flying to Alaska. One of the other passengers was giving a family recommendations. After a day of hiking and driving around, we made reservations and came to dinner. It was very good. The restaurant is nicely decorated and comfortable. We had early dinner reservations on a weekday, and the restaurant was nearly full. Even with the crowd it was not very noisy, and we were able to have a normal conversation. A lot of the crowd seemed to be dressed in business attire, especially those seated by the bar. My friend and I shared everything. The flight was a great way to sample all of the chowders. Our favorite was the Alaskan Rustic Clam Chowder. The salmon lacked in flavor while the Sea Harvest had a fishy aftertaste. The Halibut bites were so good. The tartar sauce amazing. I had considered the Halibut fish and chips for my entree, but was glad I tried the bites. I could have made a meal just of those. The side salad was a generous amount of fresh leafy greens and vegetables. We shared it. My friend got the Salmon Bowl Bliss and I got the King Crab legs. I couldn't eat the salmon because of the spices, but my friend said it was very good. I thought the King Crab legs were overpriced and just okay. They had a fishy taste, and I've had better crab in other places, so I was disappointed with them. The herbed butter was good once, but after a while the seasonings were overwhelming. We arrived close to 9 pm at the hotel nearby and needed dinner. Luckily this restaurant was open until 10 pm. We walked over and placed our orders quickly. I had checked their menu online while waiting to be checked in at the hotel. We ordered a chowder flight, a bowl of the Sea Harvest chowder, a side of bread, a house salad with added salmon, and stuffed mushrooms. Since these were already pre cooked or starters & salad, our food came out quickly. All were very good. My only complaint was the added salmon for the salad was only available in 6oz. It was huge. However, the menu states the salmon as Copper River Red - there was no "special" so was the salmon from Kodiak or Copper River? Felt bad but our server didn't know. First time in Alaska and I was really just passing through Anchorage to where I was going, but I'm so glad I stopped here. Solo traveling, but they had no hesitation seating me at a booth even with their steady flow of customers. Everyone I interacted with was very hospitable and I appreciated that they didn't rush me. My server gave me recommendations and was willing to check out all the filtered tea bag options for me (I declined and just asked if he could check if they had green tea). I loved the clam chowder and salmon bite plate! I finished both and I'm normally a full on half a plate kind of person. It wasn't that I wasn't full, it was just that delicious. While spending 24 hours in Anchorage, we wanted to finish our trip with one more round of fish & chips, and this seemed like the perfect spot. With our reservation, we were seated pretty quickly, and I thought the restaurant had a cute nautical feel inside. I ordered a cider, and Colby ordered a glass of wine. For our appetizer, we shared the chowder sampler, which, being from Cape Cod, I had never seen before. The presentation was super cute, with each chowder served in its own tiny mug. All three were delicious and tasted freshly made. For my meal, I ordered the fish & chips, which were very good. I was a little disappointed that one piece of fish was missing batter on one side, but overall everything was still quite tasty. The bathrooms were clean, and I found the staff to be generally friendly, aside from a few comments that we chose to let slide. Overall, this was a really nice spot for local seafood, and there is plenty of free parking outside. The chowders are very good! The clam chowder takes the win over the seafood chowder. As of today, August 2026 the pound of Alaskan king crab was $145. It was great. I would like to go back and try the halibut but unfortunately I won't be here long enough. They only have wine and draft beer. No liquor. We went on a Wednesday and you need reservations, the wait was over an hour and the bar is pretty small, I wouldn't plan to kill time at the bar while you wait, just make reservations online. read more

I had a small steak with bordelaise sauce, mashed potatoes, and a few scallops and it was just over $80. The steak was medium rare as requested but the rub was way too salty and the bordelaise made it worse. Too much of a good thing wasn't good. For the price I was pretty bummed out hence the 3 star rating. Chowder and the burger were also ordered by my party. Those were great. If you order the steak, pass on the sauce or request lighter seasoning. Calamari was very good. Overall it's a good dinner spot for a special occasion but definitely on the expensive end for what you get.
