We are visiting and we're lucky to be able to snag a reservation. Kim on the phone was very helpful and accommodating. This place is located on strip mall with plenty of parking. It is cozy am since with friendly staff to check your coat. We were sat in the main dining room and went for the wine pairing for the 5 course meal for valentines. The food was all delicious! The bisque was creamy but not too rich with the scallop cooked to perfection. The fish was crunchy on the outside and very tender inside. It was amazing! The duck was cooked perfectly medium rare and it was crispy on the outside and very tasty. The goat cheese fritter was really good! The filet mignon was also perfectly cooked. I'm not usually a fan of raspberries but I finished my dessert! Overall, everything we had was delicious! We did miss having bread... we saw some tables get it but we were never offered. The wine pairings went perfectly with each meal. The portion sizes were bigger than what we expected for a tasting 5 course meal. I would highly recommend this place if you are in town.

Service, as always, was divine. I love this team!!! They always feel like friends. Historically, every time I have dined at Kincaid the food has also been top notch. We may have caught them on an off night. We went for the NYE prix fix menu. We had high hopes because the online menu looked amazing. The crab bisque appeared to be tomato based, which would be unusual for a bisque--but the consistency and texture was on point. What we were lacking was any sort of big crab flavor. There was an arincini ball for some much needed texture, but the lemon oil added no brightness or acidity. Overall--puréed veggie soup. I was excited for the scallops because one of my favorite scallop dishes ever is at Kincaid. The scallops were cooked perfectly. They always are! However, a sweet scallop on top of a sweet spaghetti squash puree, sweet red peppers, and sweet balsalmic jam? Sweet and soft. There was a kalamata crumble but it didn't impart flavor. I skipped all the accoutrements and ate the scallops. I'm not a fish person, so the cod on the white cheddar risotto was going to be a pass for me--but my husband said the fish was perfectly cooked. That was his favorite course of the night. He was wishing for some acidity to brighten up the buttery cod. The filet was, again, perfectly cooked. However, it came on a celery root puree without much flavor, and had a 1/4 inch disc of white truffle butter on top. That might have been okay had the steak been warm enough to eventually melt the butter, but that was definitely not the case. We both ended up with these unappetizing piles of scraped aside butter and celery root on the plates that we were picking around. The chocolate bourbon soufflé was good--super sweet. I love a dessert and I couldn't finish it. It was also screaming for something sour, like a tart raspberry drizzle, to cut some of that sweetness. All in all.....the entire meal was soft and sweet. My future visits will be for the menu staples.

Loved everything about this place! My husband and I were very pleased with our date night. We are from Texas, but if we come back to Anchorage, we will definitely come back! Food, staff, and ambiance were all amazing!

We had the pleasure to dine at the Kincaid Grill for their 2024 New Year's Eve Chef's Special Eine Pairing Menu, and it was an unforgettable experience. The special menu was thoughtfully curated, and each course was outstanding. The King Crab Bisque started the meal on a high note with its rich, saffron-fennel rouille and roasted garlic arancini, balanced perfectly by a touch of lemon oil. Paired with Duckhorn Goldeneye Brut Rosé, this dish set the stage for the evening beautifully. Next came the Alaskan Kodiak Scallops, served with roasted red pepper soubise and a creative spaghetti squash accompaniment. The kalamata olive crumble and balsamic onion jam added a delightful complexity, and the Adelsheim Vineyard Staking Claim Chardonnay was a brilliant pairing. The Black Cod was a standout dish, with its flaky, buttery texture complemented by a luscious white cheddar chive risotto and a bright apple cider honey gastrique. The Racines Wine Pinot Noir elevated this dish even further. For the main course, the Filet Mignon was cooked to perfection, served alongside fondant potato, charred baby cauliflower, and a decadent roasted shallot demi-glace. The Rombauer Vineyards Merlot brought out the best flavors in this rich, satisfying dish. To finish, the Chocolate Bourbon Soufflé was the perfect sweet ending. Its velvety vanilla crème anglaise was a heavenly accompaniment, making this the best soufflé I have had in a long time. The wine pairings throughout the evening were spot-on, enhancing the flavors of each dish. The service was exceptional, attentive and professional without being intrusive. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with just the right amount of festive flair for a New Year's Eve celebration. Overall, Kincaid Grill delivered a truly memorable dining experience. We can't wait to return for more. Highly recommended! Sehr empfehlenswert!

Got to enjoy some Alaskan fine dining over at Kincaid Grill with my family. Probably the best Alaskan Halibut I've ever had along with the Clams as well as that creamy Mushroom Bisque. Honestly I would give this a 20 out of 10. Kimberly was amazing and she made sure we were in good hands last night. Definitely will be coming back the next time I'm back in Anchorage!!!

Do yourself a favor and enjoy a QUALITY meal while visiting Alaska. I plan to return if we get a chance b4 headed back to NC. The service and food was phenomenal. My favorite restaurant outside Las Vegas world class quality.

It is located in a small, strip mall not far from the airport. I was greeted quickly and politely by the hostess and I chose to sit at the bar and eat as I was dining alone. My server was spot on and gave great recommendations! I highly recommend the Halibut. If you don't see it on the menu ask...it doesn't disappoint!! It comes with fennel-soubise on a bed of potato-chive croquette and asparagus. It has a garlic-pecan crib that was so delicious and it was cooked perfectly-delicious!! I finished my meal with some creme brulee that was out of this world. I hope to make it back to Anchorage and if I do this will be visited again!! It's a fabulous place to take someone for an impressive dinner!!

Absolutely loved Kincaid grill when I went there for a fancy date a couple months ago! The outside of the building (end of a strip mall) is very unassuming but once you're inside, (make sure you have a reservation!) it's a beautiful set up with neat, tablecloth covered tables, perfect lighting and a clean atmosphere. We were seated and helped right away. An older gentleman was our server and he knew his stuff! They have a lot up menu with all the wines. I didn't know what to fully expect. I myself had a steak with potatoes and carrots. The steak (filet mignon) was incredibly delicious, cooked to perfection! The carrots were the perfect sweetness and full of flavor. The potatoes were amazing! I didn't even need to use butter for them, I'm not sure what the chefs did but whatever they did...they provided a top tier decadent meal that night. The wine menu is lit up and they have many many wines to choose from. Definitely will go back but...it is pretty expensive. We'll probably come back for our one year haha

    Scallops n grits
    Steven N.

First off, this was the fanciest restaurant my friend and I went to in Alaska. The decorum and atmosphere fits the type of food served, which also fits the price. But since this was in Anchorage, I figured I'd give it a shot with it's seafood dish. I ended up ordering the shrimp and grits, but o substituted the scallops for the shrimp because although I love shrimp, I love me some well done scallops. Let me start out by saying that the scallops were delicious! They were cooked well and melded with the dish well. The price is pretty expensive, as you could probably assume. Is the price justified? I guess that depends on the value you put on the food. For me, being on vacation mode, I was a little more spendy than the average person. If I lived here, I probably wouldn't frequent this place as much. Overall, a great place for special occasions or fine dining!

Excellent meal. Attentive staff. Aware and knowledgeable about allergen concerns. Perfect little hole in the wall restaurant.

Soup: The House Gumbo was rich and spicy, and The Seafood Fusion was outstanding. Entrees: The AK SEAFOOD CIOPPINO very good with lots of seafood; The Ribeye special was more than plentiful and more than enough for two meals; and The Halibut special was the best I have had for years. Dessert: The Crème Brûlée was the best I've ever had. Our server was Jessica. She knew her menu and explained all options completely. Jessica has a vibrant friendly personality and makes all the guests feel welcome. I would highly recommend the Kincaid Grill as a must when visiting Anchorage.

    Butternut Squash Bisque!

FYI they're closed the week of Thanksgiving! We wanted to go here on my husband's B-Day but they closed that week so made a reservation for the first Friday on December! We've eaten here before and it's such a consistantly Great Awesome dining experience! We began with butter and the choice of a bread rosemary or seven grain, we picked the seven grain. Richard asked for a wine menu and we were presented with a iPad. Very cool we wanted to stick with the wine we started our evening with a Pinot Noir and the iPad gave you choices by the variétal. So you click on the bottle and a decriptor tells you the flavor notes. We narrowed it down to 2 Pinots out of Oregon ans asked our waiter for his choice, he chose the Shea Wine Cellars! It was excellent! We then were presented with an amazing Butternut Squash Bisque with roasted pumpkin seeds and duck fat that was quickly devoured! Next was scallops with a mashed potato, olives what green olives, it works who knew, atop green beans so good and seared perfectly! Next cod in a glazed miso ... by now you get our theme was seafood! Delicate and the miso glaze adds the Umami. Dessert the waiter suggested a bread pudding with bananas but we opted for Pot de Creme. Very pleased with the entire meal start to finish! Just know it's beer and wine only and tonight was a vino kind of night! So cheers and have a night out to remember! Kincaid is always great consistantly!

Ask the Community - Kincaid Grill

Is there a dress code? Or would Jean's and a button up suffice?

That would work perfectly. I went wearing fleece sweat pants with a novelty shirt and clunky snow boots. Couple behind me were dressed casually. Another in "date night" attire. Enjoy your meal!

Do they sell gift cards? My son lives in Anchorage and I would love to send him there.

Best to check with Kincaid directly or ask your son to reserve and provide restaurant with your credit card on date of reservation. I have done that.

Interior is modest, simple, and felt clean enough. Our table had hoisin sauce, sriracha and a pot of chili oil. There was oil on the underside of the pot of chili oil though, which was a cleanliness issue. Our family got the all shrimp fresh rolls, a seafood pho, a mixed beef pho and a small kid size chicken pho. We also tried the hazy IPA beers on tap. Notes on the food: the rolls were okay. The peanut sauce was a touch too thick and lacked dimension in flavor. Ingredients inside the rolls were fresh but would've been improved with a little mint, basil, or other fresh herb. Seafood pho was decent, but I longed for a fish ball, fish cake, or other item besides the imitation krab. I picked out the squid because it was too chewy. Our server was cheerful and pleasant, and parking was super easy just outside the front door. Might be back if in the area but I think will continue my pho search elsewhere next time that pho craving hits.

We eventually got seated, but even with the restaurant being pretty empty it still took a while before a server showed up to the table. Our server wasn't rude or anything, but the energy was just completely flat. It felt like he could not care less about being there. Sodas got refilled once the entire night. Between being seated and appetizers, and again between appetizers and our entrees, he was basically nowhere to be found. The thing that really got me was being asked if we wanted boxes while our plates were still full and we were just sitting there having a conversation, never once offering to top off our drinks until we finally asked. It's a shame because the food really was solid and the restaurant itself has a nice warm vibe to it.
