    Great mocktails

Beautiful location, the view was delicious. Impeccable service. We shared the King crab, delicious but a second mortgage. Tomato salad was beautifully presented. Mocktails were nicely curated and a real plus to the extensive wine list.

Stopped into Captain Cook Crow's Nest on a Friday night right before Valentine's Day, and wow, busy is an understatement. We were traveling for business and trying to squeeze three people into the bar area, so we knew it might be a bit of a challenge. We eventually made it work, but service took a while to get rolling. That said, once it did start, it got really good. Our server FraniP did a great job. It took a little bit for her to engage and warm up with us, but once she did, she was attentive, friendly, and made the experience feel much more welcoming. Food-wise, we were impressed. Two of us ordered the burger and it was honestly excellent--made with a blend of ribeye and tenderloin, and you could taste the difference. Really well constructed and flavorful. I went with the mushroom soup and a Caesar salad, and both were solid choices; fresh, satisfying, and better than your average "safe" menu items. The cocktail selection was also strong, but the smoked old fashioned was way too sweet. It needed to be toned down on the sugar to let the bourbon and smoke shine through. Overall: great food, great drinks selection, and a good bar atmosphere.. just be prepared for a slower start on service during peak nights.

F O O D I had the risotto with brussel sprouts. It was honestly a very good combination and cooked very well! My only complaint was we waited over an hour to get our food... and we all didn't order anything complex at all. S E R V I C E The female who was our server...had the world's largest attitude. She did not seem like she enjoyed our job and she rushed around in a huffy way, she kept refilling our waters to the brim even though we all told her we didn't want any more water after the 15th glass.. She didn't communicate whether our food was coming anytime soon... And then towards the end she started to be nice because she knew we'd be paying soon. Then when we asked for separate checks.. she brought it all on one.. it was a lot of hurry up and wait on our server... what should've been a normal timed meal was a lengthy exhausted one. Service makes or breaks a business. A T MO S P H E R E The atmosphere was absolutely gorgeous! With the ambiance of the lighting and the view from the mountains outside, it was overall very nice!

Well let me start with I'm never disappointed when visiting Crows Nest from the great staff with excellent customer service. To the amazing views from every table & food that is always on point. This evening was one of my top favorite meals. Top of the top for New York Steaks the Mishima Ultra NY cooked super rare & melts in your mouth was amazing. I highly recommend getting in soon to try this before the menu switch's up. We will be going back soon for another taste before it's gone. Crab legs always good, the scallion risotto was one of my favorite risotto's. Hope we get lucky to it have again as an option. Thank you to the amazing chiefs & staff for such a great meal & experience. See you soon

This place came recommended by family, so I was excited to give it a try--especially for the King Crab legs. We weren't able to snag a reservation and ended up sitting at the bar, which had a nice atmosphere. The drinks were solid, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the fried olives--definitely a standout appetizer. The Bolognese was also well done. However, the main reason I came was for the King Crab legs, and they were underwhelming. They lacked that sweet, tender, melt-in-your-mouth flavor you expect from high-quality crab. For the price and the hype, they just didn't deliver. Overall, it was a mixed experience. Some great small bites and drinks, but the star dish didn't live up to expectations.

Better the first time. We came to this restaurant in July of 2024. Food was good, service was good, friendly and helpful. Food was excellent back in 2024, oysters were large came with a nice sorbet as a palate cleanser. Fish was tasty, perfectly cooked and flaky. Fast forward to June 2025. What happened? Oysters were the same price, smaller and less plump and no sorbet. Cost cutting? The Halibut was bland, and the black cod was bland. Needed to add salt. The walnuts on the Cod were bland and had no flavor whatsoever. No idea what a AAA 4 Diamond restaurant is, but this place is just OK. Service is good, but I've had good service at a place like Kincaid Grill. I think you're paying for the fact that it's in a nice hotel with a nice view. The steaks are just ok. The pork chop was good and the filet was tender. This doesn't negate the fact that for this type of restaurant, it's very inconsistent. It also doesn't change the fact that a year ago this place would've been a 5 star and is now in my opinion a 3.

The service was outstanding! The wine selection was incredible, with thousands of options from nearly every region. The entrées recommended by our server were delicious. And the views? That's the added bonus! A perfect spot for special occasions and romantic dates.

We came to crows nest for our anniversary dinner on a Wednesday at 5pm (opening time). Crows nest is located in the captain cook hotel on the 20th floor. I had never been here before and I really enjoyed the experience. We got a table (1 out of 4) in a corner room and had a 180° view of downtown Anchorage. It was a bit cloudy and eventually started to flurry by the time we were done but we had a great view. Our server was OK. Not sure if she was new or what but she seemed to hesitate or have to think about what to say most of the time. Overall she was absolutely fine. Our waters were filled and we were checked on thoroughly. We started off with some cocktails, couldnt find a menu online so it was a surprised of what they offered. (Menu pictured below) I got a blood orange cosmo and it was really good! I actually liked the Yukon Smoke better, it has mezcal and was Smokey but so good! Decent priced cocktails as well, mine was $12! I can name so many local places who are mostly $18 cocktails. We got the fried olives as the appetizer, there were maybe 14 olives and they were so good! I'd definitely get those again. For the entrees, they are pretty pricey but you kind of get more to it, like some rolls(not as good of a bread service as they could do though. The water guy came and gave us one roll each and some butter. After awhile he came by and offered us one more bread I thought we only would get one) I got the Kodiak scallops (44$) had some risotto, tomato sauce, and a Parmesan crisp with pine nuts. It's smaller portions for a high prices, but they gave us a small cup of soup(like a few bites) and the bread I just wish maybe some more risotto would be nice. I know fancy places do small portions. Also the pickled cranberries were interesting but so good. For dessert we try every crème brûlée in town and theirs was very good. No fruit with it, it had pumpernickel biscotti and whipped cream. The crème brûlée had a vanilla taste and it was better than a standard Brulé! This is definitely a fancy place and our bill was $180 with tip. It's nice they give you bread, soup, and chocolates. I would go sit in the lounge next time because they have amazing drinks!!

My friends and I had a great experience here celebrating a birthday! The service was top notch and the views from our table were amazing. Each of us enjoyed our meal throughly. They even did something special for my friend's birthday! I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Anchorage!

I was here for an event and we decided to come have dinner. I had the amazing arugula salad with tomato soup. Both were sooooo good and flavorful. The salad was fresh and the cheese crumbles topped it off. The soup was nice and hot which made it great on the cold evening. Service was quick and easy. The bread was fresh and warm my butter melted as it spread across the slice. I had a martini which was perfect. It was the end of a great first day in Anchorage. The ambiance is beautiful.... The atmosphere is amazing, the view over the city makes a nice touch from the 20th floor. Great for date night. Will come back when in town

Stephen at the tourist information center recommended The Crow's Nest as a relaxing place with great food and an amazing view of Anchorage. He was not wrong! We sat in the bar area with views of the downtown area on one side and water views on the otherside. We opted for the burger with housemade chips and it was delicious. For dessert we had mint ice cream that tasted exactly like fresh mint from the garden and the warm donuts (beignets) that were filled will lemon curd (and were just ok). Ashley provided outstanding service with a smile and kind word - even though every table was full and she was running to keep up. She is a true gem! I would love to come back and try other items off the delicious looking menu and enjoy the majestic views and elegant atmosphere.

This was a great dinner night spot. Located in the Captain Cook Hotel, this restaurant is one of my favorites in Alaska , serving quality food, drinks, and excellent service. The views here are spectacular and it doesn't cost extra to sit next to a window. The crab bisque was a great choice for an appetizer, it had great flavor too. Our entrees for the evening were the filet mignon and prime ribeye. The filet mignon came cut in slices, which was a surprise, but it cooked to perfection and had a great sauce to pair with it! The shoestrings fries were its pair, although I wish it was a better side dish. The prime ribeye was also tasty, the sides were fine, nothing memorable. The dessert was a brownie paired with a toffee popcorn and it was good! Overall, I would come back here for a nice evening again.

This was my first introduction to the Moose's Tooth Pub & Pizzeria, who placed respectably at #24. And I must say, as far as the food, it did not disappoint. We arrived with a large party, and it was extremely busy, but we got seated right away. Due to the volume of customers, the service was a bit slow as expected because of the high demand. However, when the food arrived, it was hot, fresh, and very delicious. I ordered from the veggie pizza section, particularly the Wild Mushroom Pizza, in a 10" and thin crust option. The taste, crispiness, and flavor were in the top 2% of all pizzas I've eaten spanning over five continents. It was portioned into four total slices, but I could only eat two. Most likely, it was because I had a large hummus side order, which was extremely fulfilling but very delicious. I also had a Pipeline Stout from the tap to wash it all down. Overall, these meal combinations priced out to be about $40 before tips. The 10 inch thin crust pizza felt overpriced ($15) for its size but more than made up for it in taste. Moose's Tooth is deserving of this title of the top 25 pizza spots within the United States.

We had to ask for water (twice) because he kept getting sidetracked (mind you, there were probably about 2 other groups on the restaurant side). The steaks were overcooked and didn't have much flavor. Honestly, the sides were probably the only decent part of the meal (almost another 50min after salads). By this time; patience was running thin all around. When asked where their bathrooms were located; the woman (presumably a manager of some sort) proceeds to tell us about having 3 restrooms in the restaurant and how one had a hole in the wall because someone punched a hole in it (because it was Father's Day)?! and she just did her best to cover it with a piece of paper because she's not a contractor, what the heck does my knowing any of that useless information have to do with where the bathroom was located? (Still wondering...) We were definitely not impressed with this place; we asked for our desserts "to go" and they still got our order wrong.
