Hey there friends! We had an amazing dinner at the Glacier Brew house. Before I start, I will say that it didn't start off on the right foot due to some issues with the people at the front reception. Besides this, everything else was great so I did not deduct any stars. Let me explain. We were a party of 4 and just arriving from NY, we were hungry. We walked in at about 4:30-4:45. We asked for a table for 4. We were told the wait will be over an hour. They asked if we would like to sit at the bar area, same food and probably would get service quicker. I said sure. We both want to look for a table and there were none, so I just told the staff that we will go to the bar area and wait while having a drink. We were given a buzzer. We came across a Maria bar table with a nice couple sitting there, and 2 open seats. I asked if we could sit there and they said of course. They then Deb moved over 2 seats arguing gave us 4 seats. I was do thankful for them being so nice that I picked up their bar tab. I noticed that the dining area has at least 5 open tables for 4 and 1 for 6+. I went up to the desk and told them this. I was told they were fit reservations and I couldn't have a table. Long story short, 45 min went guy and there were still open tables, I E's not happy and let them know. By this time though, our waiter Marco cans over to us and said he would take care of us, which he did. I told the front desk to forget our table and have them the buzzer back. ** My review starts*** Marco was a great waiter taking excellent care of us. We had a great time with Marco and our new friends next to us. I ordered the halibut stuffed with crab which was outstanding. My wife ordered the salmon which was delicious as well, I particularly enjoyed the crispy skin of the salmon, yum!!! Our friends ordered the fried calamari which he enjoyed and his wife had the salmon over a Ceaser salad. To finish it off, I had to get the lava cake for dessert.....hey, why not, I'm in vacation lol! Everything was great, the food delicious, Super Marco s the best!!! Great service and a great time. Just a shame it didn't start off on the right foot. Lesson: make a reservation!!!!! read more

Glacier is not showing on the outside, just Brew House. Great place. The entrance is just inside the building on the left. I had the shrimp and grits. These are the real slow cooked grits not the out of a box quickie grits. Shrimp, slivers of andouille, and an egg (it says with bacon but I did not notice any). Marvelous flavors. Will do again. Carolyn had the brick oven tomato and mozzarella cheese pizza and love it. The bar had a little trouble with my drink, a Rusty Nail, but in they got it right Food is good and well prepared. Service can be a bit slow but then it was very busy. Lots of staff just busy. Great rustic interior with wood beams and open floor plan. Booths on the left for the restaurant (Reservations highly suggested). Bar and seating on the right with tables and some small booths. One TV (thank you), it was turned to a poker competition. read more

Convenient location and walking distance to hotel that we stayed at. Lots of seating options and cozy vibes here. Immediately greeted by super nice hostess. They sat our large party in two groups. Very accommodating considering the size of our group. Service was great. Attentive and friendly. Also very patient. Got a couple cocktails and they were tasty. Also grabbed a couple local beers that were okay. Ordered the chowder and calamari. Calamari wasn't normal shaped. Very large and meaty. Also got the Brussels, very good. The sauce they give to dip these in were great. We only did apps, but others in party got meals that looked tasty. Definitely worth a stop! read more

The same outstanding food and great service as I remembered. I was treating my family to a meal as I've had a hectic week, and decided on the Brewhouse, this was a take out order however the quality was still there as I arrived home. The Ahi Tuna was amazing, nice and peppery on the outside and the center just melted in my mouth, the kimchi slaw on the side was spicy and highlighted the dish,the bbq ribs were great also. They really make you feel welcomed naturally, and the food has not missed a beat. read more

Super easy to make an online reservation for a larger party. Our server was wonderful and food came out pretty quickly. The shrimp appetizer was nothing special but the Brussels are on point with crispy bacon, and sweet jam it's a delicious starter. I had the Mediterranean sandwich with the catch of the day, it was very tasty and fresh. The fish and chips were good but we had better on our Alaska travels. The chowder with bread looked so tasty. The seafood pasta was good and portion was massive. I thought the beer selection was pretty tasty as well. A solid lunch spot. read more

We are in Anchorage for one night before heading back home to the northeast. A friend recommended this restaurant so we joined them for dinner. Our table started off with the brussel sprouts appetizer which was PHENOMENAL. I ordered the 2025 stout for a beer and it was very tasty. For our mains the entire table got halibut fish and chips and my son opted for the ranch pizza. The pizza was really good. The only downfall is the dish was overcooked but overall still very tasty. Our server was great and attentive. It seems to be one of the best restaurants in the area to dine. It's VERY busy so I do recommend a reservation. It has a cool brewhouse vibe to it. Reviews say this place is overrated and over run with tourists. While there are mostly tourists, i felt like this place was worth the hype. Despite being fully booked, service was quick and attentive. The crab was delicious compared to other popular spots around downtown. We enjoyed the surf and turf, halibut, and the fettuccini. This place has the opposite problem that 49th State has: Pretty good food and bad beer. The beer here is very, very bad. It is some of the worst beer in the state. I had a hazy IPA here during Fur Rondy and it tasted candy-sweet, oxidized, and had a chemically-bite to it. It is one of the worst beers I've ever had. It tasted old and stale when it should've tasted bright and fresh. I do not know how they can serve it to folks with a straight face, it's that bad. read more

The atmosphere was really nice. The brewery is a little hidden but really cozy inside. As a solo traveler the bar is usually the place to go. Average wait time is 30 mins for a group. Everything was priced relative well. Not too expensive and not super cheap either. The bacon caramelized onion Brussel sprouts were so delicious. Straight 10/10, I would absolutely recommend. The steak was average so so. Vegetables of course do get a cold as you eat. Mashed potatoes were delicious but also average. The glacier spiked lemonade was okay. The drink wasn't too strong and had a good flavor. Wasn't anything special considering the name. read more

Our server was top-notch, she had too many tables- but that's not her fault. So our food took forever to come even though they were not busy and we arrived at an off time. I remember liking this place for dinner- this was our first lunch time experience. The menu is a bit limited at lunch so we went for the salads. My husband got the shrimp one and I got the one with the grilled chicken. The grilled chicken one is delicious. My husband loved his shrimp one, but holy hell is it small. Way too small for a full grown man, even one who is a type 2DM. My biggest beef was with my drink. It. Was. Atrocious. Sink water atrocious, undrinkable, and missing key elements, horrible. Do. Not. Get. The. Hot Toddy. If I ever meet the bar tender in public, we are gonna have words. Because that person has NO BUSINESS working behind the counter. I guess they're used to only selling beer... They offer a great selection of beers and a wide variety of menu items. The hubs enjoyed his halibut tacos. While my pizza toppings were a good combo, I was disappointed in the crust. For a place that brags about their homemade dough and brick pizza oven the crust was seriously lacking. It was undercooked and lacked the rise you'd expect in a good crust. read more

We always have an amazing time, and this time they showed out yet again. I usually get a steak but this time I got the pasta. So good! I'm always relaxed because they take care of you and you never have to ask twice for anything. I'm sad they had stopped the bread, oil and vinegar but hey things change. I do recommend if you have a few people see if you can reserve the private room. You can play your own music, can sing if you want too... I do we do. You know a place is popular when you show up for a late dinner and are standing at the server end of the bar. We eventually got a seat at the bar and had access to a full menu. I had the halibut on the recommendation of the bartender. It was delicious. But comes with a warning. If you are sensitive to garlic the mashed potatoes are loaded with garlic. The only reason I gave 4/5 stars is I selected the place for their advertising of NA beers only to find they ran out of their own and also of their bottled selections. Early lunch while working in Anchorage and Glacier Brewhouse hit the spot. I came in hard craving crab legs and had my eye on the Bering Sea King Crab, but $154 for a pound was a little too rich for lunchtime . I still splurged and ordered the 10 oz Red King Crab Legs for $77.50, not cheap, but YOLO. Zero regrets. The crab was super tender, sweet, and perfectly cooked. Honestly didn't even need the butter. I dipped one small bite out of habit and stopped right there, the flavor stands on its own. Yeah, it's pricey, but if you're in Alaska and want quality crab done right, this is the place. I know I have reviewed Glacier Brew House but I have to give a HUGE SHOUTOUT to the Bar staff this year!! Heather, Alix, Jackie, Natalie and Z! I hope I didn't forget anyone but the staff is so Amazing, very friendly and kind! During the 12 days of Barley Wine we were always treated like friends, they always had an amazing attitude during this holiday season. Noticed how kind they ALL were talking to people visiting Alaska for the first time & of course the atmosphere is phenomenal. Even the chefs would great us and say have a nice evening. Wait times during my visit without a reservation was an hour on a week night. I really liked my server because she gave honest recommendations as to trying to sell the most expensive entrees. I got the seafood fettuccine. The sauce was was rich and creamy. The dish was filling with the salmon, scallops, and cod. I was going to get the chowder, but my server suggested not to since my dish was similar to the chowder......additional dollars added to her tip. While the menu states Gluten Free on many dishes the cross contamination is real. My 9 year old granddaughter has celiac and we quizzed the staff about their process, receiving the correct answers she still got sick. She ordered the fish tacos with halibut. We were still there when she did so used their restroom. Not a pretty sight and had to get someone to clean up which turned out to be the manager. She was not very polite or considerate to my daughter and granddaughter. The place is a typical brewhouse atmosphere and my lunch was fine. The server was very nice and was making sure GF items on the tacos were ok. It must have been the cooks in the back not paying attention to her food. read more

This place was PACKED! But I think it's a local place for when all the cruise passengers come in to start their journeys in Alaska. The staff was very pleasant but the crowd was a lot. In terms of food, they have a big menu! The jalapeño cornbread was very good and he had the seafood fettuccini and I had the halibut special. Pretty good food - nothing crazy good. Had a bad experience last time I came but wanted some king crab with wifey and gave them another chance. The interior is absolutely beautiful with the high ceilings, exposed wood beams, and huge gas fireplace in the middle. Ordered the king crab for $150! Came with 1 1/4 pound of crab (3 crab legs), string beans, and Parmesan potato wedges. Crab was AMAZING but wow, very expensive! Server was nice but not very attentive. We had our work Christmas party here with about 10 of us. They placed us in a small room that was perfect for the size of our party. The waiter was fast and efficient with drink and food orders. Our group had a few appetizers - The Tower, the wings, pretzels with cheese. My favorite was the shrimp in the tower. The wings were a bit small and crunchy for my liking. For my entree I had the stuffed halibut and it was really good. Sometimes halibut can be dry and dense, this was perfect. It was actually larger than I could eat in one sitting, so I did have leftovers to take home. Needless to say I did not get to desert.
