Came here by local recommendation and am glad I did. Love the brews, environment, and kind service.

Delicious beer! Excellent selection. Very cool tap room, but not a ton of seating options.

It Meant Nothing, IPA. Love the can art this brewery cranks out!

Steve and I had Anchorage Brewing several times up to this point. Each occasion would wind up being a collection of the brewery's various IPA'S that they offer. And while I couldn't exactly flesh out if I had a favorite beer out of the five different ones that I have had we still felt that their beer was solid and each IPA had it's distinguishing marks and characteristics in which they could be relatively sorted out easily. Here are the IPA'S that we had. Personal Space was one IPA wr had. Flavor notes with this one are juicy, fruity, hoppy and boozy. This is a hazy IPA. Puppy, another hazy IPA with flavor features of crispness, sweet and hoppy. This is a full bodied beer. Catch, hazy in appearance and this IPA has a fun spin to it as flavors involved are guava and citrus. The beer is smooth to the palette. Devour Me, this is less on the hazy side and has citrus, pine and creamy flavor elements and has an aura of brilliance to it. The final beer, It Meant Nothing is back to the hazy IPA'S with citrus and sweetness. The beer is light bodied and soft. Definitely worth returning to, Anchorage Brewing Company and I'd love to do a series of stouts if I could sometime as they look very intriguing!

Always a fun place to go when you've got some time to kill. This is one of my favorite breweries because they have such a great selection of craft beers and wine. The atmosphere is nice. I really enjoy there outdoor seating! There blueberry beers are my personal favorite

Updated review July 2022 - they now have a huge outdoor garden with nice fire pits and seating, plus an additional rooftop seating area. This time around they had about 4 sours on tap! This is the only brewery that does a handful of sours and that's their thing- rarely you find an actual sour and not tart. Also the non sours that I tasted had so much flavor, strong! They are also the only ones who charge $10 a glass.

Came here after hiking Flattop Mountain since it was on the way back to the hotel. I came thirsty and Anchorage Brewing Company quenched my thirst. The ambiance of the brewery was gorgeous with the large decorative wood barrels. The exterior seating was also amazing too with multiple outdoor gas fire pit. It was perfect as the weather in Anchorage was hovering around 40 degrees. The brewery also had a roof top seating area too. Go visit and enjoy a beer there!

Hands down the best brewery in Anchorage. It's also the only brewery open past 8 PM (closes at 9) and the only brewery that occasionally serves food on site (try the bowl at La Familia, located inside the brewery). Due to strict brewery laws in Alaska, every other brewery relies on food trucks. The cheapest beer on tap is the Pilsner ($6). Beyond that you can spend anywhere from $10-15 for their rotating taps, but they're worth it. The sours are delicious. The outdoor seating area is expansive with the recent addition of the rooftop. The fire pits out back make for an enjoyable year-round outdoor drinking experience. This is a must do if you're a beer fan.

Best brewery in Alaska. One of the top breweries in America. Specializing in sours and stouts, but what they do with a vast majority of their IPAs is what keeps me coming back. First brewery I'd had that was using phantasm powder in their beers and I love how experimental and adventurous they can be. Only knock against the brewery experience was I was hoping for more selection on draft (several options were only can pours) over the week we were in town and for more merch (I guess they've struggled to get orders in for their standard logo t-shirts and whatnot). Honestly half the reason we made a trip to Alaska was to visit ABC and I'd have bought everything if the style and selection matched the can art and aesthetic.

I've been meaning to visit Anchorage Brewing Company for some time now. Google Maps may take you all over the world, but it's simply off Dimond Blvd. Turn on King Street, then again on 91st Street. Basically, it's closer to me than I thought, and I'm kicking myself for not visiting sooner. Anchorage Brewing is in a new building that looks even bigger inside. Definitely one of the more fancier breweries I've ever been to, as far as the aesthetic goes. But the crowd made me feel comfortable. The workers seemed eclectic and easy going also. Anchorage Brewing offers growlers, cans-to-go and even wine. I could not get enough of their Golden Draak. It was perfectly crisp. My spouse enjoyed the Time for a Change, Pilsner. I can't wait to return!

I was in beautiful Anchorage and…read morewanted to grab some lunch. 49th state brewing was perfect because it wasn't far from my hotel and because it was so cold outside, I didn't want my walk to exceed 15 minutes. I was really hungry so I got there right when they opened at 11 a.m. I was able to be seated immediately and opted to sit upstairs where the tables were lower as compared to downstairs where the tables were high tops. Off the bat the food is phenomenal. For starters I got their popular handmade Bavarian pretzel. It was perfectly seasoned with butter and salt and the pretzel itself was soft and fluffy. It came with a side of cheese which was just as tasty. I was a little nervous it would taste like the melted cheese you eat at an amusement park- but this cheese had fantastic quality. One really neat thing about this brewery is they make their own fountain drinks! I tried the raspberry one and as you can see they aren't shy about the portions! The drink was really good. It had a great flavor to it, and a nice balance. The raspberry wasn't overpowering which I'm grateful for. For my entree I had the Yak burger that came with a side of tater tots. My waiter recommended I get it cooked at medium to keep it juicy. Typically I'm a medium well to well done type of girl, but I decided to trust his judgement and he was right! The burger was huge, messy, and delicious. The medium was definitely a good call. It was juicy but not so red where it would be off putting! Overall, I had a really incredible dining experience at 49th state brewing. And the prices were unbelievably reasonable. My meal came out to about $52 (not including my tip). I would love to come back when it's a bit warmer and sit outside- the views from the restaurant are phenomenal. Also, shout out to my waiter! I didn't get his name but he was so kind and the service was excellent!

I calculated our meal cost before paying and it was around $5 higher on the bill presented than what it was listed on the menu. Enough to keep seeking new ones out but even then that wouldn't last too terribly long and especially if I lived there. Midnight Sun Brewing is one of the Alaskan ones I tried a while back and I felt that the beer I had was very solid and enjoyable. In fact Alaska in general thus far I have enjoyed the breweries there considerably. The beer I had from this brewery was the Panty Peeler which is a Belgian Tripel. A good beer for sure and is a good pairing with fish and chips or a burger. Flavor highlights with this beer are sweet, strong and fruity but all in a well balanced way. The beer goes down smooth and is light bodied. A good beer to start for me with this brewery. I'd loved to try more of their beer options. Love the brewery's swag and have a t-shirt or two and would love to score a hoodie that I had my eye on but it was out of stock so I'll try back later.

This brewery blocked me on Instagram…read more Before I headed there last night for a dear friend's birthday and I wanted to check to see if there would be a foodtruck. They kept not coming up in the IG search results...weird. I initially was worried they went out of business because it said their IG page was down. I warned the birthday girl that maybe that had suddenly closed and joked "unless I'm blocked, lol" to which she replied "they blocked you!" So weird and so sad. Never in my 267 brewery reviews on Yelp has a brewery blocked me from their IG. (that I know of, lol) My only interactions with them on IG are to re-share their reels so my friends know what beers they have on tap or what food truck is out front. I guess if I had to guess it would be that my 3-star review about their being the only brewery in Anchorage that doesn't allow you to taste their beer first must've struck such a nerve that they researched to find what IG account is connected to my Yelp account, and then blocked me. Really disappointing, I always thought the owner/brewer seemed cool but I guess he has thin skin. Their Anchorage-style Pilsner is still one of the best beers in town, hopefully I'll get a pint tonight. Last night I had a west coast IPA and a Cold IPA. Both were good. The fact that you have 3 different IPAs on tap combined with a 3 drink limit by the state of Alaska...really speaks to why tastes are helpful. Still the worst name of any brewery. It sounds like a Temu beer kit that makes murky booze your friends pretend to like.
