This was a nice quiet restraunt with options we wouldn't expect to see on the menu. The food was good and we had really good service. If you are looking for a restraunt that is good but different, come and try this one.

Really nice set up on the inside. Everything seems to have recently been updated. Great drink menu with a heavy nod to tequila drinks. Nice, open bar area. They have what looked to be a good brunch menu. We didn't eat, just had drinks. Server was attentive. If you're looking for a higher end Mexican restaurant in the area, would recommend.

I've been to Tequila 61 twice, and both visits were memorable. The restaurant looks fantastic. It's clean, stylish, and has a high-end feel that makes you excited to sit down and eat. The decor works really well, but I found the branding a bit confusing. The menu leans heavily on Mexican flavors, but the restaurant doesn't really call itself a Mexican place, so I wasn't exactly sure what to expect. On my first visit, I had the duck confit tacos with an Eddie's Tropical drink. The tacos were amazing, tender and full of flavor, and the drink was perfectly balanced. On my second visit, I got the rockfish tacos. They were tasty but way too spicy for me, which took away from the flavor. We also tried guacamole and queso fundido on both visits. The guac was solid, nothing fancy but good. The queso fundido is super cheesy and greasy, and once it cools down, it's tricky to eat. I've learned my lesson there. Service was mixed. The first visit, our server was okay. The second time, the server was excellent, very friendly and attentive. Both visits we had reservations and were seated right away, even during tourist season, which was a nice surprise. Overall, Tequila 61 is a beautiful spot with some standout dishes. The duck confit tacos are a must-try. Some dishes could use a little work, but the atmosphere, drinks, and high-end feel make it worth a visit. Just watch out for the spice and maybe share the queso fundido with a few friends.

Tequila 61 is an attractive restaurant with friendly, knowledgeable staff and good food. We enjoyed a shared tequila flight (a little pricey), some chips and salsa (not complimentary) and a side of guacamole before we ate our entrees. We enjoyed tacos and a fish salad in addition to some margaritas that were overly sweet but that did the job. The side of rice and refried beans was unmemorable and comparable to what I make in my home kitchen. Overall Tequila 61 created a pleasant dinner experience for the area but not anywhere near to a great Mexican food experience by National standards. For the price, I expected more developed flavors but I would recommend this restaurant.

Service was great. Restaurant has a lot of energy. I live that they had a veggie option, although limited. Food could do with some more spice. Wish they gave heat options.

Love brunch season. Had the breakfast tacos with no chorizo and no potatoes. (I personally don't eat either, but they are included in the tacos). Last year when I found out about the brunch menu only made it twice. The flaming French toast is amazing too. Friend I went with this time had the omelette and really enjoyed it. Service was excellent. We were there shortly after 9:30 when they opened and it was clean and lovely.

The epitome of elegance and debonair. Very upscale and a pretty impressive bar. Phenomenal bartendar. Perfect 10. Clean bathrooms. Everything is legit. And the women are beautiful.

I have to say this: Beware of restaurants who charge for chips and salsa. We were excited to try this restaurant, the reviews on open table were great and this was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. The restaurant's aesthetic was pleasant and unique. The seating wasn't my favorite because it was cramped in some places, plus the seating in the booth were super close which made for an awkward atmosphere at times. Our appetizer was the Chorizo empanadas and it had a nice crunch, but it didn't have much flavor. The guacamole sauce that was served with it was very tasty and had a nice kick!! Next, we tried the Queso with asada, this was again flavorless. For our entrees we tried the tacos, unfortunately you can't mix and match tacos, which would've made this experience better. We tried the duck tacos with the blueberry salsa, overall it was pretty delicious, just a little salty. We also had the jicama coconut shrimp, which was different. We never had jicama as a shell, so that was definitely interesting, not mad at the idea , it just wasn't my favorite. The coconut shrimp was very crunchy and had a great flavor. Lastly, we had the tres leches cornbread for dessert. It was good, the blackberries were the star of the dish for me. Overall, this restaurant wasn't my favorite in the area, all we wanted were some good tacos and tequila. The rum presentation was great tho.

Good was great, good portions ordered the queso fundido and fajita molcajete steak the flavor was fantastic but the rice was mid. *skipped the beans this time. Service was very quick and attentive we made reservations. A very relaxed atmosphere with many smiles from customers.

The food was amazing and the service was impeccable! It was our anniversary so they even went the extra mile on our dessert. We will be back!

Great food and service. Love the decor. Some of the most flavorful food, and best Mexican food I have ever had! Definitely a must visit for drinks and food!!

Ambiance was loud, the drinks were good. Food was average. I had the strawberry jalapeño margarita and its was delightful. The chips and salsa were American/mexican. The tacos were good.

    Rashi B.

The ambiance is nice but service was just okay. Also for $13, the cocktails were very weak and look at the quantity on the drink to the left- that's how it came. Also the ratio of chip to guac was very off. Food was meh. It's got a nice vibe and service was okay hence the 2 stars.

In fact Alaska in general thus far I have enjoyed the breweries there considerably. The beer I had from this brewery was the Panty Peeler which is a Belgian Tripel. A good beer for sure and is a good pairing with fish and chips or a burger. Flavor highlights with this beer are sweet, strong and fruity but all in a well balanced way. The beer goes down smooth and is light bodied. A good beer to start for me with this brewery. I'd loved to try more of their beer options. Love the brewery's swag and have a t-shirt or two and would love to score a hoodie that I had my eye on but it was out of stock so I'll try back later.

We went for a very late lunch, which made the quick food delivery and yet under-attentive service a little perplexing. Having spent last summer in London, the attraction at TCT for us was comparing and contrasting Alaska Halibut Fish & Chips with the British fare. I wanted to like the Tent City offering; I really did not. For the price ($28/ea), we got three modest pieces of fish and the equivalent of two servings of chips. Both the fish and the chips were mushy (undercooked), with a heavy batter finish in contrast with the light and crisp British offering. The accompanying tarter sauce was an odd raspberry-and-blackberry concoction that my family and I called a pickle aftertaste. The presentation, for the price and the atmosphere, was a confusing combination of a metal basket lined with wax paper (like a 1950's drive-through), plastic water and soda glasses (like a college cafeteria), and real silverware. Other reviews have high praise for TCT so, on our next visit to Alaska, it will be good to give them another try. The bones of this establishment are in place for a really special experience, but, today, for me, it was just "ok."
