While the mole sauce was delicious, the chicken thighs I received were so small and bony, my rice lacked flavor and the beans were very soupy. My chips were like the little broken pieces at the bottom of the bag making it hard to scoop any decent amount of salsa into them. I got three tacos and they were probably the best I've had in Anchorage. Were they a little pricey? sure. Did they no come with any side stuff? sure. The staff were welcoming, pleasant, and eager to be of service. The dining area was clean and was relatively busy for the size of the restaurant. The food is the highlight for sure, and of course the reason a restaurant opens it doors. The handmade tortillas were a great authentic touch to well seasoned meat and fresh toppings on our tacos. The other dish we ordered were the steak nachos. Melty cheese, onions, cilantro, sliced avos, with perfectly done (plentiful) steak bits. I didnt try it, bit it looked delicious. Now here is a restaurant that will give you a truly out of country experience if you're a gringo like me. The menu is in Spanish, the waiter speaks Spanish. We managed to get an order made. I had enchiladas, my hub had tacos. We had lots of questions about the menu. Used an app to translate the menu items. The end result was very good food, but nothing like I'm used to. The enchilada was swimming in a tomato based seasoned sauce with which I am not familiar. It tasted 'authentic' and fresh. My hub enjoyed his tacos, again, an unfamiliar but good taste. Here's a special thing, LIVE MUSIC. A young man sang a number of Spanish songs karaoke style. He was a talented singer. He needed a better stage as he was located at the far end of the room near the big plastic trash receptacles. It was a bit chilly there and we kept our jackets on.
