While the mole sauce was delicious, the chicken thighs I received were so small and bony, my rice lacked flavor and the beans were very soupy. My chips were like the little broken pieces at the bottom of the bag making it hard to scoop any decent amount of salsa into them. For almost $30/plate I was anticipating more protein, bolder flavors and better quality. I want to give them another chance, but sometimes first impressions are lasting impressions. This is a small place, nothing fancy but it's giving authentic Mexican flavors. I'm so glad Anchorage has a little place like this now. They informed us they have been open for a year. I will say, the guacamole was a bit too salty but still fresh and delicious. The nachos were INCREDIBLE, something about the flavors, man!! Honestly some of the best nachos I've ever had. I got three tacos and they were probably the best I've had in Anchorage. Were they a little pricey? sure. Did they no come with any side stuff? sure. I had enchiladas, my hub had tacos. We had lots of questions about the menu. Used an app to translate the menu items. The end result was very good food, but nothing like I'm used to. The enchilada was swimming in a tomato based seasoned sauce with which I am not familiar. It tasted 'authentic' and fresh. My hub enjoyed his tacos, again, an unfamiliar but good taste. Here's a special thing, LIVE MUSIC. A young man sang a number of Spanish songs karaoke style. He was a talented singer. He needed a better stage as he was located at the far end of the room near the big plastic trash receptacles. It was a bit chilly there and we kept our jackets on.
