Stopped by this burrito spot for a quick bite. The staff was friendly, and the environment was clean and casual, so there's nothing to complain about there. As for the food, it was your standard burrito. Nothing special or particularly memorable, but it gets the job done if you're hungry and in a pinch. Stopped on a whim while driving by. Good find! Authentic Mexican (went with two Mexicans), nice service. The only -1 star was the cleanliness. But then again, I'm a snob when it comes to a clean restaurant. The floor was dirty, the chairs were worn and torn, the tables were a little grimy. But we'd definitely go back! Food was great! When they are on they are amazing. If you ask for anything out of the ordinary or to be left off your meal, be prepared to be disappointed. Three times in a row now they have added extra items to my meal, meaning three times I've paid for a meal I won't eat. There will NOT be a fourth. Two of these were Door Dash orders, one in person. Can't do anything about the DD - how do you fox that? The in person - when ai took it to the counter and brought it to their attention, they literally stood there not saying anything nor knowing what to do. I ended up leaving with a $19 soft drink. Awesome homemade food! I wish I had one of these near me, everything was so fresh and delicious. The staff were great - the vegan burrito was the best I've had. The flavours are so good. Portions are great, place is busy and clean. Order at the counter and they'll bring it to you or get it to go. A casual and highly recommended spot. Xalos sure has expanded since I moved to Anchorage, and I am more than OK with that! This location snuck right up on me. It is where the mediocre pizza place (Chicago something or other? I forget the name?) next to the amazing pizza place (Moose's Tooth) used to be. It's the same style as the other locations, you look up at the menu board. There is a plethora of pre-made burrito options (perfect for those of you too indecisive for Subway-style burrito joints), you pick one, you order at the counter, and they bring it out to you. It's SO SIMPLE. I usually go right at 11am when the open, it's so quick and it's perfectly priced. I always get the birria (sp?) burrito and some extra hot salsa. Give them a try if you're in the area, or maybe even if you aren't! read more

This was my first visit to Xalos's and I was very impressed . I ordered the halibut taco . It was only 7.00 , I expected it to be small so I ordered a side of black beans and rice for 3.75 . The taco was a nice size with a generous portion of halibut .The beans and rice were very good . It was great that I had my choice of refried beans or black beans . The meal was delicious and healthy ! My favorite combination ! The interior of this place is cool . Very well done Mexican style ! I highly recommend Xalos .I will have to ask how I pronounce it when I go back ! read more

I was pleasantly surprised when I drove by and noticed a new Xalos close to my stomping grounds! Super clean, very friendly and of course a great menu! All the options and a great selection of Jarritos! I ordered my food to go and the presentation was wonderful. They have a few tables inside as well as cute bistro seating outside. read more

I've been to this place a couple times now and it does not disappoint. Aside from the food being flavorful and delicious they're consistent. I've had the spicy burrito, the carnitas tacos, the torta and the pozole. I would highly recommend their carnitas they're juicy, tender and have a lot of flavor. The pozole is huge and comes with delicious sides to add in the soup as well as a generous basket of tortilla chips. The strawberry horchata is also MUST it's fantastic and not overly sweet. All of the employees I've encountered have been really nice. They always ask if you want extra sauces and the food comes out in a reasonable amount of time. It's more of a fast food restaurant you walk up to the counter to order they give you a number and then you pick a table. The restaurant is spacious and has always been really clean when we've dined in. I've seen them clean tables as soon as patrons leave. read more

This was my first time here. I was really excited when I went in, because the menu and layout reminded me of the numerous 'bertos' in Phoenix that served AWESOME super nachos (My favorite was Filiberto's, but Haliberto's was a close second). I like how the store was clean and comfortable. All staff were wearing masks, and they have a sign on their door requesting customers to wear masks. Unfortunately there was an upset lady trying to cause trouble at the store. Security was there trying to work with her, and staff were trying to facilitate her leaving with minimal engagement. They did an OK job handling the trespasser, they could have been more assertive. I had the birria street tacos and a chicken super burrito. The taco was pretty tasty, and pretty good value. The burrito was massive, and I enjoyed tackling a monster like that. It was delicious, but the flavor was dull compared to what I was expecting. There's nothing wrong with their ingredients, it just all seemed to be of average quality resulting in dull flavor. Like I said, it's good value though. I'm going to keep Xalos in mind for times I'm in a hurry but need a quick, hearty meal to fill up. I look forward to exploring more of their menu, and I just heard that their ceviche is great. read more

It's a great presentation, I added green tomatillo salsa, and it's oh so good! They didn't skimp on the steak or avocado, which is key. Having a salad option really makes this a more attractive lunch spot. read more

Very expensive for a burrito that is basically FULL of white rice and beans. I chose one, the "Fajita Burrito Deluxe" from the menu after reading what ingredients were in it. I picked it because it was WITHOUT beans, WITHOUT rice. It cost $14.50, online their menu said $12.95 for the same item. When ordering the burrito, the counter person pointed at a sign with several choices for beans. I said this is included with the meal? "yes", I then said ok, only if it is a side plate, please do not put it in the burrito, ok?. "Yes". I then received a burrito mostly full of rice and beans, half, or a little more. When I politely asked about this, stating that the item does not list rice, nor beans as part of the ingredients, the counter person pretended to not understand english. This person spoke to someone in the back and both did nothing. First and last time going there. It is not only dishonest to "fill" a burrito with cheap ingredients not listed ANYWHERE in the description, it is also illegal. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As per their actual menu: "Fajita Burrito Deluxe" "Filled with steak or chicken, peppers, onions, guacamole, pico de gallo, avocado salsa, cheese, and sour cream." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There is no phone number listed to speak to a manager, or owner. Hard to believe that this was just a 'mistake' as they wouldn't make me another one, or answer me. I was extremely polite the entire visit. Lastly it actually tasted good, once you took into account it was just mostly rice and beans. I would give 4 stars for flavor and no stars for dishonesty, but you can only give an overall rating, so 1 star. read more

Went here since it had good reviews on the soup and was close to the office. Got the chicken tortilla soup to go... had zucchini which I'm not a fan of in the soup. Wasn't disgusting but wasn't delicious. Would recommend Serranos tortilla soup, but then I get a side of their pork on the side instead of chicken added to the soup - now that's 5 stars read more

Some folks at work decided to get food from here. I decided to try it for the first time. I looked up the menu and ordered the Picante burrito. Was I impressed with that when it arrived. In fact everything everyone ordered looke delicious. I was expecting a much smaller burrito but boy was that thing hefty. I had it with the carnita for the meat option. It was super good. I love spice but I also don't want it just hot. I want the spice and the flavor of everything and this hit the spot. The "street" tacos another ordered were huge! It came with chips and hot sauce.
