    Basket of Mini Chimis
    Brandee L.

I came here to celebrate my coworkers birthdays and the restaurant was amazing at accommodating a large group of us, especially since they do not take reservations. The staff was super friendly and always made sure that we were taken cared of considering they were pretty busy and we arrived during the awesome dinner rush time. The ambiance of the restaurant is very lively! They had live music playing which really brought that added zest to the celebration. The drinks were perfect!! The Cadillac margaritas were yummy..definitely no complaints there..I had more than one and two..so yay! The food was really good..I ordered the mini chimis..since I've heard a lot of great things about it. It definitely lived up to the hype! I loved it. It was perfect! Everything was excellent and we had a great time! I will definitely revisit Garcia's..next time with my family. We all had a blast! Thanks Garcias for a great experience.

Great service! We had the Lolapalloza for two people. Definitely serves more than two people. Their signature drink, El Matador, was delicious and hit the spot after a long day of hiking. Our bartender/server, Ty, was awesome. Thanks for hosting some Texans tonight. Margarita was not My favorite, but that's okay.

Mini chimis are a staple and good overall. A safe bet is to go with the fajitas. As far as Mexican food goes, coming from a person who lived very close to the Mexican border, the Mexican food here isn't comparable. I'd say overall is a 5 out of 10 for the Mexican food specifically. However, they make up for it with their fun atmosphere! They normally have bands play, and everyone is having fun and some people even get up and dance! There's homemade tequila is fantastic! however, for a single shot is extremely expensive, sadly! However, on the same token, the house margarita comes in a tall glass and isn't the best. However, if you do some drink menu exploring and ask for a large bowl glass they will give it to you. We have been here over a dozen times, and in general, our service has always been good. With all these factors considered, I would give this place a four out of five for a Mexican place in Alaska because of what I have mentioned so far, and I have to be realistic, this is pretty much as far away from the southern border as I can get So bring your friends, enjoy the music, get up out of your chair, and have fun dancing the night away!

This place SLAPS!! On all fronts. Atmosphere, people watching, food, chairs, etc. They have an extensive menu so it might be helpful to take a peek before you go. The chairs are fun, roll, and swivel. There was a live band on the day we went and it was so fun listening to them play old/country hits that we all loved. People were even dancing! I would come back here just for the atmosphere more than the food.

Went here on a Thursday, plenty of parking. Didn't have to wait to be seated. There was a live band playing. Food was very good. Pretty good Mexican spot. Reminds me of home which is cali. Super cheesy. Personally I prefer soft tacos vs hard taco shells, but it was still good. Had a blended margarita which was really good.

This place is pretty good considering the options in Eagle River. I have found that the Mexican food selection in the Anchorage area in general has not been the greatest. Is Garcia's the best Mexican food I have ever had? Nope. Is it a decent choice to fulfill a Mexican craving? Yes! Is it one of the better options in ER? Absolutely. The look of this space is very nice. It is well decorated with cool murals on the wall. The bar seating in located in the center of the space, and tables in areas around the outside of the bar area. Service is prompt, friendly from the host to the food runners. The complimentary chips & salsa come with 2 types of salsa that are both very flavorful. I was impressed by the spicy salsa. The menu has a nice variety of selections, but I will say that the entrees are pretty pricey. My husband ordered the carne asada tacos, and I ordered carne asada enchiladas. We both thought our meals were fairly flavorful. The carne asada was seasoned well, and tender. The avocados, and veggies were fresh. Overall this place is decent. The food isn't the most authentic Mexican, but it has decent flavor. I will warn that it is overpriced for what it is. It is also one of the better dining options in Eagle River.

Pay no attention to some of the older reviews that specify the number of taps. The current number is now: 64. I'll say that again SIXTY-FOUR taps. If there is a place in the state of AK with more taps than that, I would like to know where it is. Currently, to my brain, this place is the current Sourdough Tap King. Anyway, not only do they have the MOST taps. They have some really unique stuff. There were beers on tap here that I've never even seen for sale at the larger Brown Jug warehouses! There are beers on tap I didn't even know were distributed in AK! Most impressive. The food, was just OK. I got some tacos and they were alright. They filled me up but weren't much to write home about. Given the Gambrinian fortitude on display here, I will definitely be back. It makes an excellent post-hike stop if you're up near Twin Peaks.

I ordered the Western Burger Zone but substituted pepper jack cheese for the American and no mayonnaise with tots on the side. The food only took about 5 to 6 minutes to come out from ordering. The burger was massive and was fresh off the grill as it was nice and hot. There was at least near a pound of brisket, it seemed, on top of the patty, and I was shocked there was so much for $17. Unfortunately, while the burger was super juicy as well as the brisket, there was not much flavor coming from the actual burger or brisket. It seemed like there had been no seasoning put on either minus some salt. A majority of the taste came from the added side of BBQ sauce or the two onion rings on the burger. While I was fully all the way into the evening from lunch, I felt that the burger would have been stellar if it packed some flavor. I unfortunately can see why it was dead, as it's a place I would not go back to if all the food is that bland.

Alaskan Burger & Brew has three locations in town and this one is located on Old Seward Hwy and E. 80th Ave. in front of Dino's Donuts. The dining room interior has a comfortable retro old-diner feel with 50's tunes playing. I wish more places were like this. The trendy metropolitan look that a lot of the newer restaurants are using for the dining area are nice, but they lack a certain comfort a classic diner look has when you're enjoying a meal. Not too many places have that feel in the fast-paced world we live in now. We chose a booth in the middle next to a stuffed Dall Sheep on display that towers over you. The employee at the front counter was friendly and very quick to take our order. I decided to go with the Mac & Cheese Burger (1/2lb. patty, bacon, macaroni & jalapeno cheese topped with melted American & Nacho cheese). My friend ordered the Mushroom Swiss Burger (caramelized onions, mushrooms, Swiss cheese, and house dressing). We both picked onion rings for the side. The wait was only a few minutes before our orders arrived. Luckily, we came in before several people arrived to order for the lunch rush. The burgers were delicious as other Yelpers have stated in their reviews, but the onion rings were not that great. I will choose a different side next time. Other notable items on their menu include the Flamin' Hot Cheetos Burger (1/2 lb. beef patty, Hot Cheetos, and house Nacho cheese), Burger & Brew salad (1/2lb. patty on a bed of mixed greens, avocado, pickled onions, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, carrots, Swiss cheese with firecracker aioli and avocado dressing), the Octopus Dogs (beef hot dog links cut and fried to look like an octopus), and the Wild Fries topped with pico de gallo, chorizo, pickled onions, jalapenos, cheese sauce, and avocado dressing. Orders are available through GrubHub and DoorDash delivery. A sign is set up by the entrance showing their daily specials. This place is a good option for lunch during the work week.

It was the pizza reference I grew up with when I came of age and learned what a pizza was. That said over the past years, the points we had amassed as we were weekly or every other week pizza na families and often multiple lunches per week at pizza man. That stopped after this last Thursday. We had a late evening of soccer, then a power outage occurred and we had no ability to cook, thought taking a pizza to go would be ok. We ordered and headed that way. Upon arriving, we asked to change our pick up order to a dine in option as the kids and I wanted drinks and sodas. The hostess said "that shouldn't be a problem, let me clean off a table and I can seat you." It seemed out of courtesy that she notified the server that she was seating an adult and three kids, "they already ordered their pizza just want drinks and salads too." The server, a shortish woman about 5'5" long curly dark hair some visible tattoos was told this. She turned and said to the hostess "they ordered to go, they get their pie and get outta here." I said "hold on, we haven't paid for anything yet, we just want to sit and eat and we will still pay for everything, even tipping, just don't want to eat pizza outdoors or in the car." Her response was "you shoulda thought of that before you placed an order, pay for your pizza and get outta here." While this was happening, there was another couple who had done the exact same thing in the front dining area-eating out of to go boxes as they too "changed their mind." I love pizza man I hated that server If you wonder why you're losing customers-look within the staff you've hired. I didn't pay for the pizza and it's unfortunate I said "this fucking place has gin so fucking far downhill from where you used to be." Literally a staple of the community and hiring shitbags and others who treat YOUR customers like shit. How fucking dare you. I'm sure I won't get the response I'm looking for. But I hope everyone who is thinking of going to pizza man reads this and rethinks paying any money to your business. It's so sad to see a company who was so great to a community succumb to greed and assholeism that is too prevalent in our society Politely Go fuck yourselves What sucks is that I have to even give A star so it'll work in some metric for yelp. No one at pizza man cares to comment and no manager wants to address this either. Pretty common for dirt bags
