If you really don't like greasy tacos this is not the place for you. Probably. But I do like greasy tacos so load them up. I got my usual-- two carnitas tacos on corn tortillas and boy were they good. I must also be getting older and wiser because now I find myself putting jalapeños en vinagre on my tacos. It's nice that they have the salsa bar. I don't love their salsa verde since it's a little sour but their red salsa is pretty good even though it's not spicy. Horchata was good and just a little bit grainy. read more

Taco King is now Taco Serf. I'm not sure what happened! This place use to be one of my favorite Mexican style restaurants in Anchorage but today I was met by a whole new crew in the kitchen and a very disappointing meal. The Chili Verde resembled an over salted Chili Colorado, the salsa was awful and I cannot even begin to describe the Birria Tacos, soggy and had to ask for consommé which was an apparent after thought as we were served a paprika red sauce topped with cilantro. Very disappointed in a place that use to make really good chili verde and tacos read more

I really like the food here. After all these years, and all the crazy price increases, Taco King keeps it real. Their price increases are gradual so you don't have a heart attack when you go in, but enough that you're confident their employees aren't starving. I like that. One thing that annoys me is EVERY time I go in they forget to give me my beverage because the guys are gossiping behind the counter like a bunch of old ladies. I speak fluent Spanish which is not obvious from my appearance and it's always obvious that the reason that items get forgotten is because the guys are discussing NSFW topics. I'm not offended, I just want what I paid for. Gracias. PS- I suggest you try the authentic (not tacobell) GORDITA. Dress it up with some flavors from the salsa bar and you have a lunch that SMACKS for $8. read more

Decent food, I just live their cheese enchiladas. They have so much flavor with the cheese and the sauce, soft tortillas it is great. Also the rice and beans are top notch. Service is friendly no matter which location you go to. And they are quick. read more

We've tried a few places in Anchorage looking for authentic Mexican food and this is the closest we've come. I'm so glad we found it because we are here for another 14 weeks and I NEED good Mexican food to survive! We had a torta de asada, tacos de asada, tacos de carnitas, side of beans, and rice. The salsa was spicy and flavorful; the torta was loaded with all the right toppings and delicious; the carne asada wasn't the best I've had, but the best I've had in Anchorage for sure! The carnitas was tender, flavorful, and just enough crisp which told me it was cooked authentically. The menu is slightly confusing and the price point a little high, but for us it is worth it. read more

Terrific carne asada meal. But watch the cashiers. Taco king charges a 4% fee on all credit card purchases. Today I paid with cash. But the cashier told me to pay the amount that included the 4% fee. When I realized what happened, his supervisor refunded the overcharge. So watch the cashiers. read more

Just don't call order, or trust them without looking. This taco salad has NO shell (ordered that way) like 7 chips and NO beans. Ordered FLOUR tacos. Got corn, again... What a waste of money. They are good but honestly do t care how their food goes out. Last time. read more

Taco King - 2 Halibut Tacos, on corn. When asked for FLOUR. No extra cheese, pretty sure I paid for it too. - Mexican Near Me - Anchorage, Alaska

I don't understand the hype. Ordered lunch at work and their food tastes like Fabuloso.

Taco King is a great lunch option if you are looking for fast, filling, and generally tasty food. The prices are very reasonable for what you get and you can be in and out quickly if you prefer take away. They usually have a daily special as well. Most entrees come with rice and beans as well, so you don't need to load up on your order unless you are really hungry. Plenty of parking in the shopping center lot at this location. read more

I was skeptical at first, but we got take out because for some reason my brother 'had to try tacos in Alaska'. I am not huge on Mexican food, so when I say this was delicious, I mean it. Not too spicy and it traveled well for take out. Food tasted fresh and not too greasy. Plus the portions were generous as well too. read more

Really good food, fast service Breakfast burrito was really good, a bit plain, but fresh. Nice people Good service. Thank you guys read more

Excellent Mexican food at a fair price. Really enjoyed the fish tacos. Salsa bar was good as well.

Reminds me of Adalbertos in Northern California, especially now that they serve king fries! Clean, friendly, humorous employees at the store , manning the phones, and those who deliver. Excellent flavorful food, authentic fusion for sure! Favorite menu item right now I'd Mexican quesadillas, next I'll try them with Chile verde soup! read more

Ordered dinner for delivery and was told it would arrive within an hour. Called to check on it 10 minutes past an hour and they said someone would arrive within ten minutes. It came an hour and 40 minutes after ordering. Good food but not for delivery. Would rather have been told it would take closer to 2 hours to arrive and I would have made a different choice. Food arrived cold and soggy. Not impressed. Lost my business. read more

Taco King does deliver when come to authentic Mexican food. This place is hopping at lunch time so get here early. Nice dining room and open kitchen with beautiful Mexican tiles which add to the experience. I have had the deluxe burrito last time and it was great and huge. This time the Lengua plate with corn tortillas. Talk about kick ass. Reminds me of the street carts in Puerto Vallarta. The service is lighting fast and they bring the food to your table after ordering. Don't forget the extras cart!!! Best Mexican in anchorage thus far!!! read more

Taco Kong has some good food. I didn't think it was amazing but it was very filling. The portion size is pretty big too so it's worth the price. The flan was good but it wasn't creamy but still very good. This has to be one of the best Mexican places around. I've been to 4 of the 7 locations, they are all amazing. Carnitas first class! Rice and beans are as good as it gets, I feel you can judge/know a lot about a Mexican restaurant by their little menu items like the rice and beans, these places know how to do it consistent and well. The gringos tacos are the very best I've ever had ANYWHERE....from Texas to Alaska, this is the place I compare all others too. read more

Burritoes are amazing! Affordable prices as well. I ordered takeout and received my meal in less than 5 minutes. Don't judge this restaurant by the outside. Go inside and order! read more

Okay I'll kick it up a star. I've come here a few times, but had a bad experience with the delivery option so I griped. I don't come here all that often, maybe twice a year, maybe. I just don't frequent Taco King very often. The place is run by mexicans, has a decent salsa bar, and deliver the food to your table; that's really great, especially for the price of the food. I usually get the veggie burrito with rice and beans. I will say this is my favorite Taco King as it has the nicest interior; lots of bright wall paint and wall ornaments. I will say my greatest pet peeve is that this place can get busy, but the tip jar seldomly has any dollars in it. Just because the food is cheap doesn't mean you have to be. Throw a dollar or two in next time and you might just hear the register guy softly say, "Gracias senora." It may just make your day as it did mine. read more

I love this location and go here a lot. The flan is amazing. Usually their food is perfect, hence the 4 stars. But it can occasionally be bad. I ordered a cheese enchilada with beans and rice. Beans and rice were good. The cheese enchilada was just bad. Usually great, but this one was tough. It looked like it was wrapped in bacon but didn't taste like it, I'm assuming burnt cheese. It tasted bad, was tough, and hard to eat. read more

Taco King offers wonderful flavors and a lot of variety in Mexican food. They offer soups, nachos, chili, tacos, and burritos among other menu tasty items. You can order ground beef, chicken or steak. Alacarte and specialty sides are available. They always have fresh horchata too. Their customer service is always friendly and helpful. Sometimes we dine in and the environment is bright and clean. Takeout is fast and doesn't skimp on serving size. It's good "real" fresh food, for example real avocado slices or guacamole (your choice) with friendly service no matter the weather or the season. Taco king will deliver your order, but it's more fun to visit. read more

I'm telling ya this best fast food I've had in a while. The beans n chips are worth just coming in for. I love there lil salsa bar they have. Great salsa to, the tacos here are the best. Awesome mexican food!! service is great and I love the salsa bar. I can honestly day I have NEVER had a bad experience here.

Went there this past Monday while taking a long lunch break to go to see my doctor at Providence. Yes Ive been here going on 7 years & this was my first time eating here :P Guilty. Can't believe I took so long to finally try it. I had their Carne Asada burrito & it was DELICIOUS! The man who took my order was very friendly & knowledgeable about their menu & my wait wasnt too long. It was very fresh tasting & their salsa bar was amazing. I can't wait to go back. YUM! read more

While the service was fast and the prices not bad, my tostada deluxe was not even hot. I'd call it mostly warm. The meat didn't taste seasoned (beef) so it was all a little bland, even with the salsa and sour cream. The tostada was also swimming in liquid that looked like water in the to-go container it was in, so the shell was tough and moist, not crisp. it still tasted ok, and I ate most of it, but won't be buying it again. Probably won't go to Taco King again. read more

So I need to be perfectly transparent and say that I'm from Southern California and I was visiting from San Diego. My expectations for Mexican food may be a little bit too high. However, this place was pretty good. They have a nice selection of items. I got a bean and cheese burrito meal with rice and beans, a Mexican Taco with chicken, and an order of churros. The taco and the churros were really good but the burrito meal was just okay, just not a lot of flavor. It was a quick and cheap meal though so I do recommend it. read more

This review is low for the customer service. Not the food. The tacos are phenomenal. Eyes were rolled about my son's huge burrito order. He's worked hard to stay sober and it was birthday burrito for him. Won't come here again for this reason. I have to say...This chain is steadily losing my business. Each location has shit counter service. The food is awesome though. Go figure? If you give snark and attitude to your customers for no reason then expect to not get recommend. read more

Just a week ago, I left the great south west... imagine my surprise when I see not just 1 or 2, but a multitude of mexican places in just a short drive from my apartment. The first I've stopped at was Taco King (I don't remember the #3, but its the right address), with a friend for lunch before work. Luckily, we got there minutes before the lunch rush, because by the time we got out food, there was about 10 people in line at the counter. We both did the two taco meals with a lengua and an asada taco. We also did the B dessert (buenosomething?) Which was fried with honey and cinimmon (sp?) Topping them. Everthing was really good, and the food was brought out pretty quickly. While it may not be as good as some of the places in AZ... it was a good first stop. I will be coming back here. read more
