One (pretty generous) scoop of cinnamon ice cream!
    Cindy S.

Came by for a scoop of ice cream and received great service at the counter! The gentleman helping my family was polite and helpful. I thought the prices were reasonable. I tried a few different flavors and loved the cinnamon-- it was reminiscent of horchata. Loved! I'm sure this little shop gets busy in the evenings but we went at the perfect time. Ambiance- casual.

This is one of the top ice cream shops in Anchorage for good reason! From their unique ice cream flavors to the creaminess and deliciousness of said ice creams, WooHoo warrants sharing ice cream amongst friends or coming back several times to try all of the flavors! The one I got was Thai tea, but I also tried my friend's cookie butter and it tasted exactly like the cookie itself. The woman working the counter was also very friendly and let us sample a few flavors.

I can't remember how I stumbled upon Woo Hoo Ice Cream, but I am SO glad I did! With so many options around town, none wowed me until I found them. They offer a variety of unique flavors. My favorite is the maple butter pecan; it is phenomenal and probably one of the best sweet treats I have EVER tasted. Aside from the amazing ice cream, the best part about Woo Hoo is the staff. The owner is incredibly friendly, and the entire team is as well. I think the prices are lower than other ice cream shops in the area, which is a huge bonus. All of this is a win-win in my book! Because Woo Hoo often sells out of my favorite flavor, I hesitantly recommend them, but it's only fair to let others enjoy it, too.

The ice cream here is phenomenal! I went to a few other famous places in Anchorage and Woohoo is easily the BEST in town. If you're an ice cream lover, this is a must-visit spot. We got the Thai tea and cookies & cream to share. They were both excellent but my personal fav was the Thai tea - flavors were spot on and it had an amazing creamy texture. I think it may be the best Thai tea ice cream I've ever had. Also, the portions are huge, so we grabbed a lid to take home. I was bummed that they didn't have earl grey when I visited. It seemed like they rotated flavors based on availability. Still very happy with the experience and would highly recommend to everyone!

So I stopped here on the way home last night after dropping my friend off at the airport. Very small storefront and a sketchy location, but I'm all about supporting new businesses. Huge wine when I got in the store, but the loan server/cashier was quite efficient and speedy so I did not mind the weight. Ice cream selections were pretty sparse but you could definitely tell it was homemade so that's a win. The only chocolate ice cream had was a hint mint. It was just OK. The chocolate ice cream was OK and they had pieces of thin mints in the ice cream I think. Keep trying people and you'll get there!!! No toppings either - this is no frills ice cream. The price was super cheap though...

OH. MY. GOSH. ! Best ICE CREAM IN ANCHORAGE! I was told to stop by Wahoo if I made into Anchorage. So I was in town and I stopped by. Best decision ever! I had their Cookies and Cream because that is my go to and it is sooo GOOD! The store is nice an quaint very cozy and you can tell it is a small business which I love to support over a chain. The staff was very pleasant and welcoming. If you are here in Anchorage, take a minute and support your local business while enjoying a scoop of ice cream or maybe two scoops. Trust me, you will be glad that you did!

My favorite local ice cream shop and the price is RIGHT compared to any other ice cream shop in town! They don't sweeten their ice cream with sugar, they use honey. My two favorite flavors are Earl Grey & Thai Tea . There's always a line, for a good reason

I'm constantly surprised by how much Alaskans like ice cream. It's...it's already cold up here so often? Even in the summers, it's pretty damn "cool" in the shade? Compared to our other major ice cream maker, this spot has a much more of a "mom n' pop" feel and much less of a "hip/trendy" feel. There are no sorbets or vegan ice creams or anything like that. A good portion of their ice cream is made with honey. The best feature here: the prices are INCREDIBLE. If you just want to taste some ice cream, you can get out of here for well under $5 which...in this economy, is a miracle! I got one such "kid scoop". I am lactose intolerant (thought not deathly so, I can still eat cheese...FYI....cheese has about 100X less lactose than milk or ice cream) so I can't eat ice cream without much pain and suffering later. I asked them if they had any ice cream made without milk and they said "all our icecream is lactose free". I know there is a way to add lactase enzyme to lactose products to make them effectively digestible by most lactose intolerant people but...that seems like a big ask for a local ice cream shop? I was skeptical of this claim as I don't see it anywhere on the website nor in any of the other reviews. I got the smallest possible scoop of cookies 'n cream and...I didn't have intense gut rot and malaise later so...I guess it really is lactose free? They should put this somewhere on their website or prominently in their store. I think a lot of lactase-lacking people would really appreciate it and they'd probably get a ton of business! I was going to give them 4-stars, but they I remembered they are open LATE (till 10:30pm on Friday), so that gets them another star in my book. We love bragging about the "land of the midnight sun" while also closing everything down at 9pm. Shame on us! (Except Woohoo! And Moose's Tooth, y'all cool!)

Wow!!! Delicious ice cream, what a find! Cold weather? Snow on the ground? No problem. Homemade ice cream that uses natural sweeteners like honey instead of sugar. Flavors just jump out at you! I had the macadamia nut ice cream and it was filled with macadamia nuts. Also got the butterscotch ice cream. I love a good butterscotch milkshake and the color (orange) of the ice cream didn't look good but it was outstanding and made a good combo for the macadamia nut ice cream. Need to come back and try more flavors!

Taiyaki is a delicious Japanese street food. A fish shaped pastry stuffed with filling like read…read morebean paste & custard. In the warmer months the taiyaki are also stuffed with soft serve ice cream. This street food has become popular in the USA with dedicated taiyaki ice cream spots popping up, and we finally have a shop in Alaska that serves this delectable treat. Softer opened at the end of December in the Diamond center food court. I went to check them out in February, and the taiyaki were fresh, crispy, and had a decent amount of filling. Now the taiyaki wasn't the same consistency as the ones I had in Japan, but it's not really fair to compare things in Alaska to their country of origin. The texture wasn't 100% correct, but it was pretty nicely crispy, and not overly chewy. I had heard from a few other people that when they went the texture wasn't correct & too chewy so consistency may be a bit of an issue, but they are a new business to that can be rectified. The soft serve ice cream was also very good. I ordered 2 "upside down" Taiyaki ice creams which comes with choice of 2 toppings. You can just order a Taiyaki filled with ice cream which doesn't come on a cup, or the Taiyaki pastry on its own without ice cream. If you're not feeling the Taiyaki you can also just get the soft serve ice cream, a milkshake, or a snow bowl (this looks like a variation of bingsu). I ordered chocolate soft serve with a Nutella filled Taiyaki topped with sprinkles, and a matcha/chocolate swirl soft serve with an ube filled Taiyaki topped with Oreo & graham cracker crumbs. The portion size on the soft serve was good for the price ($7). The chocolate ice cream was standard chocolate soft serve, but I really liked the Nutella taiyaki. The matcha ice cream actually had a strong, and not overly artificial matcha tea flavor. Next time I won't get it swirled with chocolate as the chocolate overpowered the matcha. I don't know if I'd get the ube filled taiyaki again. The ube filling was pretty artificial so it's not my preference. The toppings were also fairly sparse, but that doesn't really matter to me. Overall it's a great treat. Service was quick when we went. There was no line, and you just order at a kiosk & the person makes what you order. It's located right in the mall food court by the ice rink so if you're looking for ambiance it's not really going to be this place. I definitely will be back to get some Taiyaki ice cream again, and maybe try their snow bowls. Excited to have something different in Anchorage! This place is definitely a good spot next time you want some soft serve ice cream.

Always look at newest reviews!!!…read more We saw the 4.4 red stars and thought this was gona be an amazing place. The first red flag was 1pm on week day and there was only 3 parties in the place. The one and only server was very nice, but being the only one, twice when new parties entered he would walk away. Wife ordered chicken katsu rice plate. The overall theme is everything is bland. EVERYTHING.. Her cabbage slaw/salad had a white creamy sauce, my best guess is mayo mixed with ranch but only if both was every kind of free there is, fat, sugar, carb, keto, and most importantly, taste FREE. Her rice was purple, there were purple chunks, not sure if it was potato, the rice was mushy, wet, and Bland. Her kutsu sauce was made from the same everything free ingredients. Come on man, Kutsu sauce is 3 ingredients and all three are bold flavors, how do you mess that up. But ok, they want to be fusion, maybe add some cilantro or chili. She asked for soy sauce and salt to try and add some flavor. Half way through she has me hold out my hand and pours a handful of the "salt" from the shaker. It was not salt granules, almost looked like a salt substitute. I honestly don't know what it was but when I tasted it I would be extremely generous by saying I got a 25% salt flavor. Normally, you put 2-4 tablespoons of salt in your hand and lick your finger, when you taste that, you get a powerful punch in the mouth of dam, that's salty. I was dumbfounded, if they are using that "salt" to cook with them makes since why everything is so bland. I don't want to repeat the Bland Bland Bland theme over and over. I had bulgogi, kutsu, and BBQ chicken tacos. I will skip to the end- yep, you guessed it, Bland. We did have the bulgogi egg roll, I do want to touch on this only because I was so mad at myself once we left I dug Into the reviews. These are one of the most positive commented items, BUT those comments are from over a year ago. Overall, 11$ for two small egg rolls cut in half is ridiculous. Then if you bite/taste just the egg roll, there is a 5% taste of bulgogi sauce. Which again is so explosive of a sauce. But, If you drown the egg roll in the creamy mild sriracha sauce then the egg roll is ok. If you forget what it should taste like and just concentrate on how did they make the sauce with no heat, then you could get at least a 2-2.5 star. Server deserves 5 stars, Food deserves 2 stars.

It's like a croissant baked in a waffle form, but a bit denser than a regular croissant. What really made it special was the Ube cream -- a light, buttery frosting that wasn't too sweet. Easily a 10/10 for me. I also ordered the Ube Cruffin, which had that same croissant-like texture in a muffin shape. The inside had a light cream filling, and the top was covered with the same Ube cream. It was good, but not quite as amazing as the Croffle -- 7/10. The Ham Banh Mi was tasty and filling (6/10), and the Boba Milk Tea was decent too (6/10). Oh and I got to taste their smoked salmon chowder that my friend ordered. Very good flavor, body, and richness (8/10). Everything I had was good but nothing that was as memorable as the Ube Croffle, but it wasn't cheap -- I spent a total $32 for a sandwich, drink and 2 pastries. Then again, prices in Alaska tend to be higher in general. Overall, even though I've only been once, I'd definitely come back for that Ube Croffle -- it was the real highlight!
