This was our first time at Ruby Sunshine and it was a great experience. Make sure to join the waitlist through Yelp because there's usually a line out the door. More restaurants should make use of this system because it saves so much time and makes the experience more convenient for customers. There are other restaurants in downtown Franklin that make you actually go in before being added to the list and then you end up waiting 30+ minutes outside when they're going to text you anyways when your table is ready. This just makes more sense... Once we got there the hostesses were very welcoming and greeted us with smiles. Since we joined the waitlist online, we only had to wait about 5 minutes before we were seated. Being our first time we wanted to try both sweet and savory. Hubby ordered a BYO omelette with cheddar, mushroom, onions, spinach, bell peppers, bacon and ham with a side of cheddar grits (it comes with a biscuit and sugar cane butter). I ordered a peacemaker benedict so I could try 2 different types. I got one Corned Beef Hash and one Chicken St Charles Benedict with the sauces on the side so hubby could try them too. (He's picky with his sauces.) We also ordered a Brioche French Toast to share (which comes with a side of bacon). Hubby really liked his omelette and ate all of it. Their biscuits are huge, buttery and super fluffy. We liked them more than the biscuits from Biscuit Love. For the benedicts, the eggs were poached beautifully with a creamy yolk that nicely coated the other toppings. I'm glad we got the sauces on the side because I think the horseradish cream was a bit strong and I wouldn't have liked it smothered on the biscuit. The hollandaise was good but they were a bit heavy handed on the hot sauce and I would've preferred if the hollandaise didn't have any hot sauce in it. However the pork tasso cream sauce was perfect. I used it for both of the benedicts. In other Yelp pictures the chicken pieces for the Chicken St Charles looked really big but my piece was kind of small at least it still tasted pretty good. The French toast was light, fluffy and yummy and the bacon was crispy. We will definitely order it again next time or maybe try the banana foster one. The cheddar grits were also creamy and very tasty. Also not sure what the other Yelper was talking about because we got regular silverware and not plastic ones. Overall great experience and reasonably priced for the quality and quantity of what you get. We will definitely be back! read more

We visited this morning for breakfast for the third time. The hostess was not at the front when we came in the door but she showed up soon enough and happily lead us to a table. Gramps was our server and was super friendly and accommodating. Most of the family loves the Migas (try them if you haven't they are awesome), we had a special order pancake and it's hard to pass on the French toast bites! Friendly service at the booth and hostesses upfront. Also, there's a counter area in front of you're looking for coffees to go anytime during their open hours. Loved the outdoor patio area with umbrellas . On a Friday at lunch time, we waited way too long for our meals for five people. Maybe they're still working out the kinks in their kitchen??? This was the slowest meal at a restaurant or cafe that I've received in the past year. I eat out several times per week. I got the French toast and it came with a side of bacon, and I added a side of cheese grits. The French toast was good, but it was pretty normal compared to other restaurants. The bacon was really good and the cheese grits were great, wish I would've gotten a larger bowl of those! My friend got the grits and catfish, the catfish were more breading than actual fish, and she had to get a side of cheese for the grits. My other friend got the smoked salmon Benedict, the salmon was REALLY good, it isn't your typical sliced smoke salmon. And it was also very filling! I'd also recommend getting a side of sliced avocado for only $1.50!! For drinking, they don't have bottomless mimosas, but they do have a single mimosa for $10. If personally recommend doing the morning margarita which is also $10! read more

I was impressed with this place. The wait was quite long, which isn't surprising for brunch places on a Saturday. I didn't have high hopes going in, but was pleasantly surprised. The drinks were good and the food was quite tasty. We shared all 4 appetizers, including French toast bites, which was my favorite followed by the pig candied bacon bites. Waited an hour and 50 minutes for what was an average breakfast that I could have cooked at home. I understand that staffing is a challenge right now, but that wasn't the problem. I was the only person standing at the bar trying to order a drink while I waited, and it took the bartender 20 minutes to even acknowledge me. My corned beef hash had about 2 small shreds of of beef in it (mostly just potatoes). If you could just walk in and eat, this place is fine. This was a very mediocre place. The food was nothing to write home about. A few dishes all came out really cold but it did take about 45 minutes to get bacon and eggs. They did remake the eggs for us since they had sat out while the rest of the food was made. The service was non existent. I really liked the atmosphere until the piano player showed up and set up shop outside the front door. He sat outside but it was so loud you could not hear and made talking to your table much less enjoyable. Great bloody Mary's but really light on alcohol. Just had my first visit to Ruby Sunshine! We went for an early lunch / brunch and weren't disappointed. Note this is not your typical Southern brunch fare...it has a heavy dose of New Orleans flavor and influence. I ordered the BLT sandwich, which was delicious, but a little light on the T - just a few sad slices. (Maybe this will resolve itself when tomatoes are in season.) Bacon was plentiful and delicious. Our server was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. I can't wait to go back and try new things. My friend got an omelette and said it was amazing! I love the option for outdoor dining.
