    Iced Coffee

Had such a good experience at Ruby Sunshine that we literally came back a second time today just to grab another iced coffee From the second we had walked in...even earlier they remembered us, Laura the hostess was warm, welcoming, and peak service energy. Then Nicci our waitress took great care of us...super sweet, attentive, and on top of everything (and her beautiful plug earrings were such a vibe ). Drinks stayed full and she checked on us just the right amount. We had the beignets earlier (because desserts spelled backwards is stressed and we're not doing that in the morning ) warm, fluffy, perfectly sweet. The tater tots were crispy golden perfection. And that iced coffee topped with whipped cream? So good we had to run it back the same day. Smooth, refreshing, extra indulgent with that whip on top.....Also the place was spotless. Not a dirty table, not even a tiny straw wrapper on the floor. You can tell they take pride in their space. Amazing service, incredible food, super clean environment.

My wife and I stayed in the Ballentyne area of Charlotte and found Ruby Sunshine near our hotel. We were greeted warmly and seated immediately. Since if is Mother's Day, they gave my wife a carnation flower. I ordered the Southern Breakfast, and it was delicious. You will not leave Ruby Sunshine hungry!

We came here with mediocre expectations. Our goal was a decent brunch and a mimosa. What we got would be comparable if Temu had breakfast options. It took forever to place our order. I ordered the shrimp and grits, absolutely awful. The green peppers were still raw and crunchy. Grits were lumpy and gritty. I only ate the shrimp and left the rest. I get nervous about having food returned. The BF said his chicken sandwich was good, just a basic sandwich. The service, trash. Our server appeared to be the bartender and our server at the same time. With that being said, it was not very busy in there at all and there were 2 other servers. I believe there were a total of 6 tables among the 2 servers and the bartender. She forgot to bring our drinks, brought us our tab and I gently stated that we didnt receive our drinks. We weren't asked if we needed anything else before the tab was given to us. At that point, we had already finished eating but never received our drinks. She quickly threw the drinks together and quickly gave them to us. Didn't ask if we needed boxes or coffee, just more of a "here ya go, bye". After getting our drinks, we waited another 15 mins or so before I asked to pay our tab, the server never returned for us to close out. I had to ask a different server if we could please pay our bill. Between the trash service and disgusting food, we will definitely not be back.

When I arrived, I was happy to see that there was easy parking in a huge parking lot set aside for the restaurant. Upon walking in we were seated, the waitress was very helpful about recommended menu items. My sons ordered off the kids menu and we're happy to see you pancakes and French toast as options. My boys thoroughly enjoyed their breakfast, and I ordered the loaded potatoes and they were the best I have ever had. The beignets were delicious too, I can't wait to come back and bring some of my friends also. Thanks Ruby sunshine for a great mother Son day out!

My first visit was on a weekday morning to meet up with friends who were visiting from out of town. The restaurant is big and it was empty except for a couple of tables. Our table shared the loaded tots. So good! I chose to try the shrimp and grits and was pleasantly surprised to find that it was very flavorful and I greatly enjoyed it. The service was good and the ambiance was casual. I'm open to visiting again to try other options but I wouldn't say that it's made my list of top choices for breakfast/brunch.

I absolutely love Ruby Sunshine's fried chicken so I was so excited to bring my husband to try the best fried chicken ever! Imagine my disappointment when it came out looking burnt. It took quite a bit of time to get our server's attention (the bartender) and she brought another piece that looked the same. She said that the kitchen said this is how it looks because of the oil. I then told her I actually came for the fried chicken and it normally does not look or taste burnt. The third time it came out looking golden brown not burnt. They did not give me a fresh biscuit so my biscuit was cold by the time I got my hot chicken and we never saw a manager. My husband had an eggs Benedict of some type but it was very overcooked, not runny at all. I love Ruby Sunshine so I will definitely give them another try but maybe not this location.

Made reservations for a party of 9 about 3 hours early before our intended time on a Sunday afternoon for brunch. I called ahead to ensure that we will be able to be seated. We did still have about a 40 min wait once arriving. We were told that was to give their kitchen some time to accommodate us. The food overall was pretty tasty, had pretty good flavor and came out nice and hot. The mimosa flight was more flavorful than the traditional mimosa, which was flat. Our server was nice and checked in pretty frequently. This is our first time with this location, but we would return again. We do love brunch food.

I was looking fur somewhere to try for brunch and ended up at this place. I've wanted to check them out since they opened, but the wait has always been long. Today, I was able to get in right away. We started with the beignets. They were not good at all and smaller than any I e ever seen. Tasted like a dough ball with powdered sugar and no flavor. Pancakes and bacon were perfect, created an omelette with chicken sausage good as well. The chicken biscuit was just okay. Nothing special. Check them out though and see what you think.

I really enjoyed this location. I celebrated my birthday brunch here with 15 guest and everyone truly enjoyed it even my nephews. There truly was something for everyone on the menu. The breakfast was phenomenal. I had their infamous stuffed French toast along with eggs and potatoes. The manager went above and beyond to accommodate my party and as well as the waiters. I definitely highly recommend this location if you're looking for a venue to host a party since the manager Kevin goes above and beyond to make sure that your needs are met.

There's a reason this restaurant has a line out the door. The food is great! The hostess was so nice despite patrons being rude to her (be kind to your wait staff or go home) and the wait wasn't too bad. Highly recommend walking down to Pikes and going plant shopping while you wait. Our server was also very nice! We got the loaded tots to start which are so good we ate half before I got a picture. I got biscuits and gravy with fries, eggs, and bacon. My only complaint is the gravy tastes like it has a chicken base and I prefer it to be fully sausage based. Otherwise fantastic. My peach Bellini wasn't very peachy. Do expect to be here for over an hour due to the high influx of patrons but that's outside of the restaurants control. I'd definitely come back!

Quickly seated, order taken promptly, great bacon app. Avocado toast was good, could have used a bit less lemon. Wife's breakfast Sammy was good, home fries were very good.

We went there for a brunch on Sunday morning. Our arrival was lesson stellar. Didn't really feel warm and welcoming. We set our table for at least 10 minutes before someone came to wait on us as it appeared there was some confusion about whose table it was to take care of. Once our server did arrive, her name was Alex and she was fabulous. It was her third day on the job and she stayed on top of everything. She did not forget anything we did not feel like she ever forgot us. She brought everything we asked for we did not have to ask for it multiple times and we did give her a review to the floor manager. The ambience was not what I expected. I expected a little more uphill than what I found there. It kind of reminded me of a Chili's or an Applebee's. But it was clean and the decor was nice. It looked like they probably did have a large room to take large parties separate from the main dining area. As expected, it was the New Orleans Orleans team restaurant with decor that matched. We started our day off with coffee and beignets and the loaded tots. The beignets were light and fluffy and warm. They were delicious. The loaded tops was a large portion. I ended up bringing half of it home with me. It was savory. The tots were crispy. The pork on top with flavorful was not dry at all the gravy was a little salty, but not too salty. But overall, they were delicious. I also got a side order of the Applewood smoked bacon. That was delicious. It was cooked perfectly not too crispy done correctly. My husband ordered the Peacemaker which was a combination of two of the eggs Benedict one was the Chicken Saint Charles and the second was Eggs Cochon. He said his favorite was the Chicken Saint Charles. It was crispy. It was full of flavor. The biscuit that the chicken was on was light and fluffy, and the egg on the top was perfect. The Eggs Cochon had pork on the top. Again with a perfectly cooked egg. The meat was savory. It was not dry at all, and the portions were huge. The coffee which I must admit I think I had 3 cups of while we were there was great if you like strong coffee. I would actually give this place a 3 1/2 star rating. It is nice for a laid-back leisurely brunch.

Out of towners looking for a good breakfast. What a disappointment! Interior was I would expect for a breakfast spot. Service was slooooow! Ordered breakfast burritos and wanted pork sausage. But they were out of pork sausage. Added chicken sausage instead. Tacos showed up w house potatoes. The potatoes were soft and cold. Inedible. The tortillas were terrible. Dry and hard. The outer edges were so hard and dry they cracked and fell apart. Cant believe they would serve tortillas like that. 3 others had selection and all unimpressed. I did not return my food because our wait was so long I didnt want to wait again. I do not recommend this place for breakfast! There are many much better places close by.

Beware of the Chicken Sausage Patties. Hard, dry, inedible.

It also makes no sense to me that we had to wait for our coffee at the counter but our food is already brought to us at our table. It's not even the employees faults- it's the design of the restaurant process. The food tasted good but almost everyone (7 people) said some aspect of it was cold and should have been at least warm. Both French toasts? Cold. Croissant sandwich? Cold. Either way, I wouldn't come back for food specifically to eat. The employees were all helpful but definitely understaffed on a weekend in my opinion. They did the best they could and were nice. In my opinion after a handful of years- the decor seems tacky. It all is mismatched and just looks beat up- not vintage or antique so that it seems kinda random. I feel like in 2015 this style or idea was popular and kitschy but now ...maybe I've just grown up The pastries were good but also super expensive. So choose wisely!

I had recently tried this drink at another Haraz location and loved it so much that I officially considered myself a matcha drinker. When I received my drink, I noticed it looked much pinker than it had at the other locations I'd visited. I assumed it had just been mixed and that the usual layers of matcha, strawberry, and whipped cloud had blended together, so I didn't think much of it. However, after taking my first sip in the car, it immediately tasted like strawberry milk. Since I was on my way to work, I kept drinking it, expecting the matcha flavor to come through, but it never did. It was disappointing because the drink was nothing like the one I've had several times at other Haraz locations. I hope this location places an emphasis on training and consistency so the drinks meet the same standard as the rest of the Haraz locations. While I looked online I was surprised to learn that this place tries to stay in touch with their South American roots, so obviously I wanted to try it out! On the menu I saw plenty of drinks from coffees to matchas to chais and lemonades as well. Apart from that there were other options like baked goods and sandwiches. Once I got there the place was actually very packed but there was still plenty of room as well. There was also an outside patio for those who wish to sit outside rather than inside. The vibe was giving woodsy and green. So it felt very bright and welcoming in the shop. The staff was nice and took care of me quickly. I ended up ordering their pesto flatbread. It took a couple of minutes for me to get my order but nothing too long. The flatbread was overall really good. It had arugula, pesto, cheese, prosciutto, and cherry tomatoes on top. It was very filling as well. I would def recommend this place if you're in the Charlotte area! I will say that the prices might not be the "cheapest" but I think it's worth it.

A lovely discrete treasure, a blessing to the South Charlotte food scene…read more This easy to find yet tucked away café was the best breakfast I've had in many years. The meal started off with an iced rosemary lavender latte crafted with their in house syrup made with cane sugar and fresh herbs. Rosemary and coffee has been a revelation to my palate and I'll be back for this alone. Which I will happily enjoy in this comfortable and cute dining area. Breakfast was made to order from fresh ingredients, piping hot and intentionally seasoned. As their bright and cheerful owner puts it, the main ingredient is love. And trust me, you can taste it. This is the first time in my two decades of eating tofu that I can actually shoutout how delicious it is. And the aromas coming of this photogenic waffle were mouthwatering. While Charlotte has become over run with corporate and copy cat restaurants, it is truly a thing of comfort to enjoy a delicious meal made by good people that care not only about what's on the plate, but who is eating from it. 6 stars

We didn't wait for too long for the table as people were just leaving. It took a bit for the waiter to come to our table and took even longer for him to get our food orders in, which we noticed he got the food orders in for the other tables with people who came in after us. This then lead them to getting their food before ours. I ordered the breakfast combo which came with 2 eggs, bacon, and waffle. I was a bit surprised that this place didn't have any chicken or turkey protein side options as I've seen is common with brunch places. I also got my eggs scrambled which, as you can see by the picture, came out as an omelette. When asking the worker about the confusion, he doubled down on it being scrambled eggs and even gossiped to his coworker about it as well. Upon the unfair wait and the egg situation, I will not be returning here again.

It's a beautiful place to relax over coffee and dessert. They have an extensive menu with plenty of food, pastries, desserts, and drinks to choose from. We stopped by for coffee and desserts, and every dessert we tried was excellent. The Pistachio Croissant Roulette was flaky, rich, and full of pistachio flavor. The Lemon Poppy Seed Yogurt Cake was incredibly soft, moist, and perfectly lemony. The Peach Cheesecake was the star of the desserts--creamy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. We also tried the Lemon Raspberry Tart, which had a wonderful balance of sweet and tangy flavors. Overall, this place exceeded our expectations. Between the beautiful ambiance and outstanding desserts, it's definitely a spot we'll return to. The next time we're in Charlotte, we'd love to come back and explore their food menu as well.

I ordered a half A Chicken salad sandwich and a cup of leek soup and my husband ordered a turkey wrap also with a cup of leek soup, we also got a pecan pie pastry and two coffees. Unfortunately, the soup was cold and I got a full chicken salad sandwich which was very salty and my husband got some form of a grilled cheese sandwich. We took the soup back and had it warmed up again and for some odd reason it was still cold then I noticed my husband had the wrong sandwich so I got up, took it back and said he ordered a turkey wrap and I don't know what this is. They bought his wrap and two new leek soups which were still cold again so we got cold soup three times. We gave up and left. Coffees were good as was the pecan pie.
