First time at this location & it left a lot to be desired. We had a reservation to come an hour before seeing a film at the regal next door. First red flag was them not having a table ready for 5 people even though we had a reservation. I'm not sure if our server forgot to place our order (she didn't say) but it took over 40 minutes for our food to arrive & even then only 1/5 orders came. Everything else was staggered 5-10 minutes a part (i.e. one pizza - 10 minutes later - a side of mashed potato's - 5 minutes later a pasta, etc.). Plates will be hot & extra steamy (bc the AC is on), however our hot food was always room temp/cold. One order was even wrong. We had to get the food boxed to go & paid quickly only to notice that after over an hour of waiting our french fries never came. We chased our server down to bring the food we had now ordered & paid for. Before leaving, we decided to check them only to find out they were COVERED in large salt crystals and inedible (maybe the top wasn't on the container or they used the wrong setting?). Overall, this place could clearly use some management in the kitchen & staff. Tap and Vine was okay. My main complaint is the price. It just wasn't worth the money we spent. I wasn't super impressed or unimpressed particularly. It was a decent meal, the decor was slightly upscale, and the service was relatively poor.. not that they were unfriendly, they tried dropping off seven plates of food that weren't ours and then ended up passing us with our food, going back into the kitchen, and the same person ended up coming back and giving it to us and it was warm (Caesar salad). Went to Tap In Vine on Valentine's Day with two other couples and sat at the bar. Unfortunately, the service was a major letdown. The bartenders were disengaged and uninterested--especially the female bartender--and on two separate occasions our drinks were taken away before we were finished with them. When my husband first got there he heard the bartenders talking about how much they did not want to be there and did not need the money. Their lack of enthusiasm could not be more obvious. The appetizers took over an hour to come out, and when they finally did, not everything we ordered arrived. When I asked about the missing calamari, I was told it was never put in. There was no attempt to fix the situation. Overall, the experience was marked by poor communication, very weak customer service, and a noticeable lack of personality. Very disappointed because the meal was great - but the experience during Queen's City Feast was horrendous. The way they do the bill is a scam and if this is how they did it for us a lot of other people must get overcharged and don't even notice. We had 3 people do the $45 prefix menu for restaurant week and then got two $6 sangrias. Our bill thus should have been $147 then tax and tip added after. Instead the way they do the bill they line item the choices you make instead of charging 45x3 on the receipt. We were overcharged $21 for the food, thus charged more for tax and then more for tip. We went back to the restaurant because we didn't realize this until we left and when we tried to call they said they were too busy to help. After 30+ mins of waiting and explaining we finally got the $21 back but still we paid more for tax and tip but couldn't bother with it at this point. Plus the time and headache of having to drive there and back again. This is a sign to pay attention to your bill when you go there!!! read more

This is my new Date Night go-to! I made reservations the day before. It was quick, simple and easy. The business is located in a shopping center. There's free parking onsite. We were greeted when we walked in. We were seating within five minutes of entering. We arrived before the piano-off. It seems as if there's always something to do. The waitress was very nice and pleasant, she also had a waitress in training assisting her. I ordered the caramel apple mule. I substituted the vodka for tequila to my preference. The drink was DELICIOUS! I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo. Our food came out quickly. My fettuccine Alfredo was so yummy! This place is awesome and deserves five stars. I love it here! I went there for lunch yesterday and found a delicious small wedge salad on the menu for $7. Pleasantly surprised! The restaurant is lovely and was not at all busy at 11:30 am on this Thursday. But...Just FYI ~ if you would like a roll or bread with your salad or meal, be aware that it is not complimentary. My friend and I ordered bread with butter - and what we received was 8 half slices of toasted crostini and a very small ramekin of butter. While delicious enough and a nice compliment to our salads, we were pretty shocked that they charged us $9 for the bread!!! Price Gouging at it's best! Our waitress should have told us the price of it before we ordered...and we didn't think to ask. Diner ~ beware! They need to rethink their charges. We had an amazing experience today! Kali took care of us while we sat at a high top in bar area. She was absolutely AMAZING! She was very attentive and pleasant. Dustin, who is the general manager, was helpful, professional and took time to chat with us. Secondly, the food was so good! We ordered the Brussels sprouts, sliders, calamari, burrata cheese (added tomatoes), crab cakes and truffle fries. The tapa options are really great and it was fun trying several items. There wasn't one thing that we didn't like! So good! They also have really great daily drink specials and on the last Sunday of every month, they have unlimited crab legs! The place was extremely clean including the bathrooms. There are a lot of choices here in Charlotte but this place is definitely highly recommended! We will definitely be back. The food was edible. But thats all it was. Like you could eat a soggy quesedilla. You could eat hockey puck burgers, an pudding disguised as a creme brulee, or a bolognese out of a can. But do you want to? The manufactured dim lighting and ambience of a romanticized dive bar. Lights your way to the host stand the second you enter. The smell of what the fuck is growing under the bar top reaches your nostrils bypassing the colonge of some poor sap who has been bamboozled into thinking this place was worth its weight in wine bottle tree they have on display outside. If the service is anything like the food , you may be better off ordering , going to see a movie across the street, coming back and giving the food to someone you hate. read more

We did the all you can eat crab legs here on a Monday. The restaurant was dead with only one other table sat in the whole place. But that was good for us because they kept our crab legs coming! The crab legs were fresh and hot and the chef personally brought some of them out. $50 is a bit pricey but the crab is good and the sides it comes with are also good. I would definitely recommend this to a friend if you miss those delicious all you can crab leg buffets at the beach. I ordered the brownie a la mode because I can't go anywhere without getting dessert. Dessert was ok as brownie was a bit dry but the ice cream and whipped cream made up for it. So, the first few times we were here they had GREAT $12.99 Lunch Specials. Everything from Crab Slider to Quesadillas. A month or so they had only a handful to choose from, very disappointing Today... ZERO, ZILCH, NADA, GOOSE EGGS! Only a small amount of Lunch Specials. At least one over $20.00. The Fish and Chips, pitiful The Caesar Salad with Blackened Chicken and Anchovies. Usually Anchovy Paste goes in to making the Ceasar dressing, not little filets curled up on the side of the plate. If that was shaved Parmesan on the salad it was the chewiest I have ever eaten. We got there before noon and left around 12:30. There was only one other table of two. Time to raise your game! Incredibly fast service. Swear it took less than 5 minutes to get our food after ordering, and half the seats were taken (7pm on a Saturday). We made reservations here during Queen's Feast on a Saturday night. They were busy which is understandable, but what stuck out to us was how extremely slow the service was. We had reservations at 7:00 pm for six people and I kid you not, we didn't leave the restaurant until 9:30 pm. We ordered everything at once from the pre-fixed restaurant week menu but it took absolutely forever to get our food. The wait time between courses was significant. Our waiter was not attentive at all. There was no acknowledgement of how long we were waiting and our drinking glasses sat empty for quite some time. There was a good 30 + minutes where we didn't see our waiter at all. I saw him walk back in the side door like he had been on a break or something. Looking back at my iphone photos, the first course arrived at 7:40, entrees at 8:42, and dessert at 9:18. So between appetizers and entrees, an entire hour had passed. When it finally came out, everyone enjoyed their food. The boom boom shrimp were crunchy with a kick. The bruschetta was very delicious and fresh. The arancini balls were good. I liked my chicken marsala. The mascarpone cheesecake tasted frozen and lacked flavor. We enjoyed the food enough to try Tap & Vine again. We're just hoping for faster service next time! read more

Hard to have a worse experience. It took an hour to get our order of mussels and flatbread pizza. The mussels were too salty and they didn't provide the bread accompaniment until 15 minutes later after we repeatedly asked about it. The pizza came out with blobs of semi melted cheese and wasn't hot. Inedible and they refunded that cost but still hungry. The service was absolutely the worst I've had in a very long time. Took 20 minutes to get a glass of wine that was ordered, we had to ask for a water refill 4 times before it came and the food was served without any napkin or utensils! I finally went to the bar to get some utensils when the waiter failed to return in a timely manner. All in all if you're looking for a bad dining experience, this is the place! read more

Another great meal and experience at Tap & Vine last night (Friday). We arrived at 6pm and every table was full, except for one in the bar. After ordering our food was out in an astonishing 10 minutes! My dad had the hamburger and fries, and I tried the crab cakes, asparagus and mashed potatoes. Food was the right amount of hot, and the dip that came with it was simply amazing. The staff always seems to be extra caring and helpful, and on a busy night like last night says a lot. For a restaurant that just opened up a week ago with some small things to work out, Tap & Vine is going to be a long lasting establishment for this area. read more

Our server was quite knowledgeable about the menu and their wine selection - he introduced me to a wine I had never tried and honestly likely wouldn't have asked for it because it's different than my usual. But his understanding of their wines and my interests helped me make the perfect recommendation! We tried the risotto balls (so good), 3 dip app with pimento cheese, buffalo chicken dip and spinach and artichoke dip (the Buffalo chicken was incredible!) and we split the prime rib sandwich with fries which was delicious! Returned for dinner on Sep 10. Not crowded...which was a big surprise. Without a reservation, waiting is the price you pay for entry. The hostess was distracted with a puzzle book, so one of the roaming wait staff sat us at a small boothette in the bar area. Just fine. There were a few LOUD people at the bar and one table just finishing their meal. Weston was our server and he was very conscientious and accommodating. We ordered. Why was the restaurant so empty? Never found out until we observed a couple seated next to us that left because no one brought them a menu or even asked if they wanted a beverage. And then there was another table with a similar experience. I asked my wife, who was seated facing the entry, "What is the hostess doing"? Answer, head-down into her puzzle book. Where were the wait staff? Clustered around the kitchen area. I got up and went over to ask Weston for our bill and then we left. We like Tan & Vine and are concerned as to what has caused this formerly busy, good-food and drink with a good menu and bar to be as it was this night? Change in ownership or management? For our mains we had the filet, chicken parm, bolognese and lobster ravioli. Everything tasted just fine - not amazing but good! Service was just ok. Again like the food, not over the top, basic. Delicious food! We had dinner on a Friday and everyone had great food. I had the braised beef short ribs and substituted a side of sweet potato fries. The first time I arrived here I saw the health sanitation score was 87. I decided to dine elsewhere. I tried again. I called first to find the score was higher, 95. That was acceptable. I wanted to try the all you can eat snow crab leg special for 55 dollars. The first order came. They were dull looking not a bright orange. They were very small sparce meat in the shell and overcooked The meat crumbled when trying to remove from the shell. The texture and taste was sub standard. First time dining at Tap and Vine in Stonecrest with family this past weekend. The dining experience was not great. We were seated in a booth by a window and the first thing I had to do was clean crumbs of the seat. The white curtains behind our booth were also stained with what looked liked bbq sauce. Gross. I ordered scallops and was told that they are out. Changed my order to crab cakes and was told that they are out again. Ultimately just ordered chicken, even though it was not my first or even second choice. My son ordered tiger stake and was shocked by the size. $16 for a TINY piece of steak. It must have been no more than 2 oz. Pure robbery. Husband ordered a cup of coffee and was told that they are completely out of milk and cream. Coffee came in a cup with stains on the outside of the cup. Gross. Received our bill for $150 and left hungry. Restaurant could have at least not charged for coffee since they couldn't even provide cream for it. Very disappointed in out experience and will not dine there again. read more
