Another instance where I wish I could give a half star but oh well. We came in for the elite event today. I had intended to just do to go during the week but it didn't work out so I hauled my whole crew in. We used the wait list feature which was awesome because I just checked in and we only waited maybe 5 minutes to sit on a busy weekend. First suggestion, during Covid, have the check in process OUTSIDE. Other patrons did not observe any sort of social distancing in the entrance which was really irritating. If the check in was outside there would be more space to spread out. Our server was sweet and attentive. Our drinks came quickly and the coffee was French Truck, which my husband loves. However, the kitchen was so behind. It took 45 minutes to get our food. We saw lots of other people in the same situation so it wasn't just us. Most of it was excellent. I got the tacos and I feel like a better tortilla would make this an awesome dish. Also, the black beans and rice that came on the side were perhaps the blandest thing I have ever tasted. The tacos themselves were delicious. My kids got the typical pancakes and fried chicken that kids always order. And aside from my 3 year old who subsides on snack foods, they devoured it. Husband got a Spanish omelette and was really excited about the biscuit. We sat by the side door and saw lots of people confused about where the entrance was, not sure if there was a sign or not. It also made it really cold with all the in and out traffic there. Almost no other customer wore a mask when using the facilities. I know people forget, but I've never seen it so bad in a restaurant. I ordered take out today - walked in on a very busy Saturday morning- went straight to the bar and placed my order for the breakfast veggie tacos. Charlie, whom always seems to be a fixture there took my order. She is very good at her job so if she takes your order please reward her. While waiting for my to go order I had a cup of coffee. Their coffee gets a 10 on my scale of great coffee in our area. Far better that coffee served at another popular breakfast place. The breakfast veggie tacos are absolutely amazing- filled with flavor and really takes care of that morning tummy yelling at you. Let me start off by saying that this location was a huge disappointment, and I hardly ever leave a bad review... We were on the waitlist for a party of 5 (4 adults + 1 high chair). The hostess told us that our table was ready twice, and each time she sent us back to the waiting area because the staff just couldn't get it right. Thankfully when we were finally sat, our server was quick to get our drinks and then took our order within the next 10 minutes. It was busy, but we weren't expecting our food to take THAT long. Well, we ended up waiting an entire hour for our food to come out when all we had was 3 orders of egg bennies and a burger. The people next to us who got there after us even got their food first. Ridiculous! And when it came out, one of the eggs bennies were wrong, but we were so hungry and upset that we honestly didn't want to deal with it or give our server any problems. To top it all off, the eggs were all overcooked, basically like hard boiled eggs. The hollandaise sauce was way too cheesy and needs work. There's not much else to say about this ruby slipper location except it needs work. The hostesses need better training as well as the kitchen staff, because you can't keep seating people when there's no table to sit at, and you can't mess up a poached egg on every eggs benedict dish. The ruby slipper was delicious! We were looking for a good breakfast spot, and we now have a favorite. It is located in the Trader Joe's parking lot, so there is a good amount of parking. We were seated right away, we got there around 11:30 on a Thursday. We had to wait a little while for our food because they got our French toast wrong but it wasn't too bad. They had great music playing and very friendly staff. My husband ordered strawberry stuffed French toast, it was so delicious ! I ordered the peacemaker Benedict with the salmon and shrimp boogaloo. I definitely favored the salmon Benedict as my waitress said I would. It was missing the capers which I was looking forward too. Otherwise it was perfect. The shrimp boogaloo was good, but I felt like my fried green tomato was too firm. We also got an order of the kids French toast sticks they were comparable to a churro, a bit too crunchy and oily but so delicious still. We can't wait to try more ! read more

Let's begin with the service. After checking in and being seated immediately, me and my partner waited over 15 minutes until we were greeted by our server. After getting in our drink orders, the service was smooth sailing. The wait time for our appetizers and entrees felt shorter than the wait time to get a drink order in. For that, I take away 2 stars. But wait, -2 stars? Sir, you have 4 stars, how is this so? Well I will tell you! The Sweet Heat Chicken and French Toast Bites were amazing. The chicken was fried to absolute perfection and complimented with the syrup elevated the dish to another level. Speaking of compliments, let's talk about those French Toast Bites. They were incredible; crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. That dish alone took my rating from 3 to 4. The Eggs Benedict dishes at Ruby Slipper are not on English muffins, nor do they have even one of the many Eggs Benedict choices have the traditional Canadian Ham as a choice! So the Blackstone ( a eggs Benedict dish here ) is a biscuit split in have with a poached egg on each biscuit half and bacon and a cheese sauce not a hollandaise sauce. The trifecta is 3 halves of biscuits one has a small fried chicken breast a poached egg and a small amount of a cheese sauce it says hollandaise but it's cheese, the second halved biscuit has pork roast and poached egg topped with tasso cream sauce and the third halved biscuit has a fried green tomato, sautéed shrimp in a tomato sauce topped with a poached egg and cheese sauce. We walked in and checked in. They told us they were gonna message us when our table was ready. We sat there and watched people walk in, get seated, and leave. While we were still waiting. We were told 15-20 minute wait, we were waiting for roughly an hour and a half. We had to ask to be seated and they still acted like they didn't know what was going on. We got 2 free appetizers but the food wasn't seasoned and it honestly wasn't that good. I had to ask for them to refill my water. Our waiter asked if we wanted a refill on our coffee, we said yes, and we never saw her after that. They only checked on us about 2 times while we were there. I do not recommend this place if you are like us and not from here. EDIT! Maybe instead of copying and pasting your message to 3 different people you could actually be a good business and take time to read through our complaints and try to make YOUR business better. Brunch at home! We were very excited to try Ruby Slipper Cafe this morning and throughly enjoyed our breakfast. The meal arrived warm and deconstructed which was wonderful to prevent anything from getting soggy or ruined in transit (see photo). Each container was beautifully labeled and easy to assemble at home. The order also arrived with a personal HANDWRITTEN note of thanks for the order during this time which was both unexpected and really appreciated! I had the Eggs Cochon - I highly recommend this item! Jeremy had the Eggs Blackstone which was also very good. Their biscuits are buttery and cooked to perfection! Both of us ordered our eggs poached and the eggs were overcooked, but, we imagine this occurred in transit since we live about 10 min from the restaurant. If ordering takeout, I suggest ordering your eggs slightly under how you would normally order in an establishment for the perfect meal on arrival. As a side we both chose the cheese grits and while they wee tasty, the containers arrived about 45% filled (see photo). At $3.50 each, we both expected more. We also ordered orange juice so we could make mimosas at home but unfortunately, the orange juice never made it to our house. I have been here a few times. I think it used to be a good place because it came recommended by a co-worker but I found out later she hadn't been there before. The biscuits are supposed to be renowned for, but they've always been a little too hard. I think they could also need more servers. It's difficult to both get and keep a hot cup of coffee on the table, and I think the hostess could be a little more pleasant and accommodating. We "joined the waitlist" on their website, got a text confirmation, and waited outside for over an hour with 3 hungry kids. I finally sent my husband inside to check on things and they said "okay we put you on the waitlist." What?! Be aware that an online "waitlist" still means you physically have to go in and get added to the list in person. She said it would be another hour+ wait. So what is the point of an online wait list if it doesn't put you on the list? I've never seen anything like this. Most places have an online waiting list and they notify you when it's your turn. However our drinks (water, coffee, apple juice and a mocktail) came in wave in a span of 20 minutes. THEN the server took our order. When I got up to speak with the manager, I could see our order and the server leaned against the kitchen manager talking. This time around I had the breakfast tacos with fruit and some delicious coffee. It was everything I hoped it would be--quite tasty and filling. It does not come with a protein on the tacos but you can add it if you like. The biscuits are huge and if you like biscuits I doubt you are disappointed. Their menu is really cool because they have a nice mix of savory dishes and sweet dishes. I didn't get a chance to try any of the sweet items, but my friends love the Bananas Foster etc. The Three Pigs Omelette is my favorite. It is absolutely outstanding. The drink menu is really cool because they have seasonal drinks. For Sunday Funday, I usually stick to the traditional brunch drinks. The mimosas and Bloody Marys are overpriced and basic, but I heard that some of their other cocktails are still overpriced but AMAZING. Service is hit or miss.
