The Cozy Griddle is the perfect brunch spot. The food was amazing and the service was great as well. I had brunch here with my sister and old friend from school and we chose to go here after we heard there was a new breakfast spot right up the street from us. It is a black owned restaurant as well with some very nice owners. Our order was taken and our food came out about ten minutes after we ordered. Food : Me and my partner ordered the griddle stack, not the best. The grits and eggs were amazing, however the sausage tasted frozen, bacon was too greasy. The biggest complaint is the pancakes, which they are known for. They were super doughy, too thick (could barely eat half of one) and lacked flavor. Last week my husband told me about this spot & I was excited to try it out in the future. I'm home sick today & he thought this would be the perfect remedy. It did take a while according to him but everything was still hot by the time I got it. My family and I visited on a Friday around noon. The spot is cute and cozy. Everything is cooked to order so be prepared to wait a little while. We ordered the chicken and waffles, 2 cozy plates with grits, eggs, bacon, and biscuits, a side of French Toast, and a side of pancakes. It took about 30 minutes. We enjoyed our food. The grits had a nice smooth, creamy texture. The pancakes were thick and fluffy. The French Toast was delicious. My daughter enjoyed the chicken and waffles. It's a fairly new establishment. The line was long and I waited about an hour for my food. The food is cooked to order so be prepared to wait. The grits were very creamy and buttery I just had to add some salt and pepper. The pancakes fluffy on one side but they were good. It was busy when I came in but the customer service was still amazing and they were patient with me and I didn't feel rushed to make a choice. You definitely should have patience here. I believe everything is cooked to order which is fine you know your food will be fresh and hot. I was able to snag a seat and work while I waited. When I got my food at first I was like I should have ordered something else I don't think this will fill me up but shockingly I was wrong! Here in BR for business. I had some time to kill, so I decided to grab a late breakfast around 9:30-10:00 on a Thursday. This place is small, seating for about 30 I guess. The lady up front was friendly, not real chatty , but friendly. The food was delicious. I got the Cozy plate with Pan-fried potatoes with onion and bacon, (I think), great homemade flavor. With the potatoes I ordered scrambled eggs and the patty sausage. I was told the link sausage on the menu is a smoked grill style sausage not like a breakfast link. I also chose wheat toast and an additional order of patty sausage. Wow! The sausage patties are extra thick, think mini- quarter pounder-ish. I had 4 patties and didn't finish the last one. It's a slightly spicy pork ,very tasty and cooked just enough to stay juicy. The toast was awesome, very buttery. This is a counter style restaurant, you order and sit , then pick up . The food was like Mom's , fresh , hot and cooked just right. I highly recommend the place, but look out !! The neighborhood knows and this place gets bizzy busy. I saw 3 Togo orders in the 45 min I was there and 3 or 4 tables came in , which , with the 3 already there, the place was filling up. Don't hate em cuz they're popular. I pray success on them. The service was amazing and the vanilla iced coffee was great but honestly I had high hopes for this cozy mom and pops feel cafe. The food was basic and cheese grits came with shredded hard cheddar that doesn't melt. The biscuits were just pilsbury canned biscuits griddle in butter and the eggs were scrambled like someone's aunt does on Sunday morning when doesn't really feel like cooking breakfast. The price was way too expensive for something I could've gotten better for a cheaper price. The sausage patty was regular store bought jimmy dean and not the flavorful kind.
