This is my boyfriend's favorite place and he brought me today. I was PLEASANTLY surprised. They had the absolute best Philly cheesesteak I have ever had. Everything was hot and fresh, made to order. I also really liked that everything was customizable and easy to order. My boyfriend wanted no peppers while I wanted extra peppers and wanted to add mushrooms. Very easy to order. I like that the Philly cheesesteak fries were an option since I do my best to follow a gluten free diet. Service was nice. We were able to serve ourselves and serve our own drinks giving it a cafe/deli type feel. Can't wait to go back and try more things. read more

Nice spot for a quick lunch! I stopped here on a Friday around 3pm. I went with the Classic Hoagie in the small (6 inch) size. Everything is made to order and you can watch as it's cooked. The menu is large. I decided to dine in. Inside is clean and there is a large tv on the wall. My food was hot and fresh. The steak was cooked and seasoned good. My fries were thick, hot, and crispy. The drinks are self served. I didn't care for the sweet tea so I changed to a root beer. The staff were all friendly and accommodating. They don't have dine in trays but I just ate on top of the wrapping paper. Overall, nice spot that I'd return to. read more

I went too long not trying this place. Simple concept, very casual, but excellent at what they do. The Philly cheesesteaks are amazing! Be prepared to wait a bit during the lunch rush, but hey, just a good sign it's well loved because people line up every day to get it! The sandwiched here are freshly made and are tasty. They have a good variety of sandwich options and additional toppings. They are busy everytime we go. Seems to be a popular lunch spot in the area. Born and raised in Southern New Jersey, I would call myself a cheesesteak aficionado. I am always hesitant to order cheesesteaks outside of the tri-state area for fear of disappointment. I happened to stumble upon Philly Me Up and it piqued my interest. After reading another review posted here from another NJ native, I was convinced I had to try it. The food: Any Philly or Philly-adjacent native would know that one of the keys to the best cheesesteaks is the roll. Philly Me Up does it right! The not only ship in the proper Amoroso's rolls from Philly, but they ship in their steak from Philly as well. BLOWN AWAY by the dedication to keep things authentic. Many non-Philly cheesesteak places (including that franchise by Mike) also miss out on the other key ingredient - the whiz! Philly Me Up has got it all! If you're homesick for a really Philly cheesesteak you won't be disappointed. If you're looking for a Louisiana flare, you also won't be disappointed. Hubby got the Cajun steak, which was spicy and delicious. We were a little disappointed in the cheese fries since we both like crispy fries and these were a bit on the softer side. The generous portion of liquid gold (cheese) made up for that part, though. The locale: The inside of this place felt super authentic as well with a few tables and high topics, but it seems most people order take out. Service was the best part of my experience. The food is overpriced but, good. I wanted to like it better than I did. The Philly's was seasoned very well with nice flavor but, at those prices paying for extra meat you would've thought more. The onion rings were too greasy for me. The sweet tea with added lemon was on point. There are several different types of sandwiches - shrimp, chicken, classic beef, and then various combinations. My husband had the Voodoo added jalapenos to his and he loved it. I had the Philly with mushroom and Swiss cheese. We had lunch here today & we both got a Cajun Philly Cheese sub, it had lots of shaved chopped steak, pepper Jack cheese and jalapeños all had Cajun seasoning and it was super delicious it was very juicy. We also got a cheese fry which was super yummy even though the fry's were frozen they were delicious smothered in the cheese whiz sauce / liquid gold sauce lol. I've been on a favourite cheesestake hunt and I finally found one !! This is definitely the best I've had in Louisiana, all that burst of flavour added to the flavour from the pickled topping was really great. I'm giving a 5 star because it was a perfect experience. The waiter was really sweet and patient while attending to us, the steak was well cooked and extremely flavorful and the sitting area was very cool. I'd definitely be going there again. read more

Dude.. so good and so cheap! I ordered a classic philly, cheesesteak WRAP, and onions/fries. Honestly, just skip the onion rings and go for the fries. Onion rings had no flavor! The cheesesteak wrap was so so good. If you love a juicy, flavorful, saucy, delectable wrap then I'd definitely recommend! I'll be ordering this again tomorrow. Visited for the first time this past Friday. My mom ordered the voodoo and I had the Cajun Hoagie. Both delicious! I tried calling take-out a couple of times but phone was not picked up. My mom has eaten here a few times so she convinced me. We went after lunchtime rush but they were still fairly busy. There were a couple of people ahead of me so it took around 5 minutes or so to place our order at the register. Our food took a bit to come out as well but it was worth the wait. This place seems like a lunchtime spot, but as I mentioned previously, it can be slow. There are no waiters and so the booths weren't the cleanest. I will note that the staff at cash register were very friendly and apologetic for the wait time. read more

To go orders and dine in, they are movin and groovin to get people in and out quickly with a pile of delicious food. I think my favorite part of this place is their variety. There are several different types of sandwiches - shrimp, chicken, classic beef, and then combinations of all the above. THEN there are variations on the Philly Cheesesteak itself - I went with the cheese, onions, and mushrooms in the small size. The small is PLENTY for lunch even if you're hungry. If you want leftovers or are sharing or if you are one of those people that orders the illegal at Izzo's, go for the large. Expect a good meat to bread ratio and for the bread to support the meat - you know what I mean poboy enthusiasts. This is a bread that's more substantial than the French bread we know and love without adding the extra thickness where all you taste is bread. The meat was juicy without dripping in fat and I could taste every flavor of the mushrooms, onions and peppers and beef with the white American on top. Get you a side of fries or onion rings and you've got yourself a tasty lunch for a great price (mine was $12 with a drink, side, and sandwich and I was stuffed). Run not walk y'all! The poboys are consistently good and hit the spot.. fries are always served hot out the grease which is how I like them. They used to have good Heinz ketchup in the pump to fill little cups but since COVID they only give out terrible cheap ketchup in packets. Ruins the fries, so I bring my own. (I always dip my fries in Canes sauce so I started keeping the the small Heinz packages for when I come here. .. too bad they close EARLY on Wednesdays, I drove here not realizing that they had hour changes. read more

I come here pretty often when I want a sandwich because I don't like cold sandwiches. This is a rather small place! When you walk in there is a long counter with a register and you can see behind the counter where the food is being prepared. Every time I have come there is a good crowd (lunch time). All the food is prepared to order so be prepared to wait a little bit. This is a good thing. I have never had cold food from here. I get the lagniappe on either a hoagie or a wrap with extra cheese. The fries are good and so are the onion rings. I have had the surf and turf too. I have not had anything bad from here The staff that takes the orders are always super nice. On this particular visit the sweet tea was running low. I had to ask was more going to be prepared. (I did feel like I was bothering him by asking him so I asked another after him) the first guy did start making more. Absolutely Stellar, I'm a NJ native so cheesesteaks are a staple after any Phillies or Flyers game, I've been down here since 2002 and nothing ever comes close to my after game Tony Lukes or Genos. It's a small place, nice crowd, clean environment and super nice staff, lots of smiles, They even had the sunday eagles game on (this was on a Tuesday), which I appreciated because they just had a big win and that was exactly what I wanted. The cook was a young, quiet gentleman with a baseball hat, And like I said, I'm kind of serious about my Cheesesteak, so I stood by the fountain and watched him on the grill for a minute and I knew It was going to be great, This is absolutely 100% what I've been waiting for all these years. Good Sandwich, but Not Great I ordered The Surf N Turf (Grilled Steak, grilled onions, grilled shrimp & white American cheese) and added jalapenos. The sandwich as a whole was ok, but for $10.25, I would have expected a loaded sandwich. The sandwich was skimpy on the meat, onions, and jalapenos. The shrimps were not cleaned and deveined. There was literally about 3 pieces of jalapeno peppers and about 3 small shrimps The cheese was melted on the bottom of the sandwich and np cheese on top. We were greeted with pleasant smiles and two very helpful employees that explained everything we needed to know about the menu (since we were newbies). So I was already a fan of PMU before I even ordered my food. I got "The Classic" and my fiancé got "The Cajun" Philly cheesesteak. It was delicious. Philly Me Up is a tiny little spot in a strip mall that is completely unassuming from the outside, but definitely venture in because these cheesesteaks are not to be missed. The staff here was super friendly to us on our recent visit, and although all the tables were taken when we arrived, a few cleared out just in time for us to eat. We got an assortment of cheesesteaks and they were all so good. Compared to other places I've tried steak sandwiches, this one ranks #1. (Even compared to the one I had in Philly!) I recently moved to BR from San Diego and back home, I had a go to spot for cheesesteak sandwiches-Gaglione Brothers (where my mouth waters just thinking about their sandwiches...) so this place was on my "got to try" restaurant list. I ordered the regular sized VOODOO because I saw that it had steak, chicken, AND shrimp...as I bit in to the sandwich, I looked for the shrimp....turns out there was only 1 small shrimp in my last bite of my whole sandwich. Although the ratio of the meats were disappointing, the balance of the BBQ SAUCE with the pepper jack cheese was on point! The side fries were made to order and the amount of salt they sprinkled on it was perfect (not too salty, not too little). My husband ordered the large sized LOADED sandwich. He chose it because he saw "PIZZA SAUCE" in the description of the sandwich. He was also very happy with his sandwich and was very full after finishing the sandwich and half of his cheese fries. (He is a cheese lover and he loved the amount of cheese they put on his fries!) The restaurant is very clean and the staff is very friendly and nice! While we were there around 1pm, most of the tables were filled and even when we were almost leaving, there were still people coming in!
